Excellent location to both public transportation and city centre pedestrian walking areas! Very convenient as a property to stay and reach. The neighbourhood may look somewhat less save (but no issues at all with safety in practice even at midnight).

The hotel staff were excellent, very helpful and polite. The room on the 6th floor was quiet most of the time.
There were no English channels on the TV but we did manage to find some sport which was handy (my husband likes his telly!). Also the sound was very erratic and the signal jumped in and out.
WiFi was good but maybe put the passcode on the check in key card. If we hadn't used the lift we would never have found it.
We had breakfast one morning. It was fine but, as all hotels, pretty much overpriced at 17 euros each.
The bathroom was very odd, with the toilet being so high on the wall that my legs dangled, so I assume it was designed by a tall man. Same for the towel rails above the shower, I couldn't reach them and I'm not especially small.
The shower needs to be sorted out. It was alternatively freezing and scalding and it took such a long time to wash my hair trying to wait for the water to be okay to stand under. Two different times of day as well, so it wasn't just because the kitchen was busy downstairs.
The shower gel and handwash were in plastic squeeze bottles on the wall, and because of my arthritis I couldn't get the soap out of them easily! Small, first world problems, I'm sure, but it would improve the experience in the hotel if these things were sorted out.
The room and hotel were fairly clean but could do with a crub around the edges.

Staff members were amazing, the electrical system was bad, electricity was switching on/off very often in the evenings, the AC unit was faulty. Apart from this issues our 3 days stay was good. Hopefully they will sort out the issues with the electrical system.

It is located few squares from a dirty side of Gare du Nord station. If you walk from the station to the hotel you must pay attention to your belongings and yourself.

To start, I wouldn’t call this hotel ‘city centre’. The hotel was a 7 minute walk from Brussels North train station. If you have mobility issues, the hotel is located up a hill. The biggest negative was that the hotel was located in a very dirty area next to the red light district. I arrived at 22:45 and I felt unsafe. Once I arrived at the hotel, they had already charged my credit card but I usually pay using my card in euros when I arrive at the hotel. This is the first hotel that’s pre-charged my card before arrival. (Other than the ‘holding’ deposit). There are no ‘decent’ or fast food restaurants open after 22:00. The receptionist said ‘this is Belgium with a shrug’. My room was clean and it appeared that it had been upgraded recently. However, the hallways and main lobby looked aged. There was no safe or mini fridge in the room. My room faced the main street and it was noisy even with double glazed windows. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

This is the worst hotel in world. Dirty room, faulty aircondition, hot like oven, very rude and uncaring staff. Aircondition was not cooling room properly. They even refused to help. Not provided fan instead. No tissues in bathroom. Empty bottles of toiletries. Very rude and aggressive behaviour of staff. The hotel is generally run down and poorly kept. The shower didn't work properly, and was fitted perpendicular to the bath, it would change temperature as you were showing so you would get scolded then immediately freeze and if you are taller than the shower spluttered. The tap for the sink was loose and too close to the edge so you couldn't wash your hands easily or fill a water bottle. The coverage of the WiFi in the rooms was poor, you had little or no connection.

The entrance of the hotel has 4 stairs and had time getting the bags. No parking and the closest parking was 8 mins walk. It was raining and we had very tough time. front service wasn't very informative. Room was dirty with stained bed sheet. I had to request them to change the sheet and blanket. The extra pillow we took smelled like used. Disappointed overealll.

The property was damp, walls are thin and had mold, the towels were rough, the area was a bit sketchy, the detachable shower head was leaking/broken, the heating is controlled by the hotel so no matter how hot or warm you want the room, it’ll show error unless turned on by the hotel.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Only 5 mins walk from Brussels North train station. Major road works down from hotel, but still able to walk around. We were on 6th floor at the back, so quite quiet. Only moan the room was too hot and air con wasn't on, but we just kept the window open. Lovely room and great towels. Breakfast was very nice good hot and cold selection. Staff very friendly.

Need Security at front door!!! Too many panhandlers and petty criminals. Had one failed pick-pocket of my wallet right in front of the hotel doors. When mentioned to the receptionist, she mentioned that they were “Harmless!!” Parking was too far away and there was no advance notice that there was too much construction all around the property, therefore it was hard for car services to gain fast access and one had to pay extra as they maneuvered the various detours. Hotel next door had a “Two Star” outside the building, but it should have been a “Minus 10 !!” Hence, the attraction to for the criminal element. We had a fire alarm in mid-morning that lasted at least 20 minutes and the receptionist was frantically pushing a bunch of buttons trying to figure out how to stop it while on the phone for some guidance.

If you can, stay away

all hotel in capital cities are unfortunately exploiting the inflation news - they are pricing themselves at least 50% more than they should be. For 150 EURO you have this hotel next to a very unpleasant Gare du Nord train station (smelly, dirty, very messy and dangerous). The air conditioning did not work for 2 full days, and the hotel would make you think that it is your mistake not to stick around to wait for them to change your room. The breakfast is 15 EUR but it was simply horrible - you would be much happier to get a croissant and coffee in supermarket. So all in all, please do not consider this hotel if you have any option.

Cheap updates and avoid at night

I arrived a little later than anticipated (around 10 pm), but I always thought Brussels was relatively safe. I quickly changed my mind walking the short distance from Brussel-North to the hotel. Do not plan on being outside at night, especially alone.
The staff was friendly, but the room had been cheaply/poorly updated. I didn't expect a really fancy room and simply needed a pre-flight hotel, but it felt dingy. There were holes and stains on the hallway/bathroom walls and what looked like mold all around the tub.
If you want somewhere cheap and only plan to walk to/from during the day it could be ok, but otherwise I won't be back.

The staff at the hotel were excellent. The location is very convenient. The room itself was fine and clean, but the bathroom was a bit dated. Could do with a bit of freshening up. Also, it is in a quiet bart of the city for night time which is helpful, but the rooms are not well sound proofed. If you're a light sleeper hearing doors open and close in the hall and people talking is going to be a problem.

The location is not that far from the centre (Bruxelles is quite small), however the area is very unsafe and looks neglected. The view from the window of our room is frightening (picture attached). At first sight, the room looked nice and tidy but as we went into the bathroom we found hair in the bathtub as well as inside the bed. However this wasn’t the worst part. In fact, there was no duvet on the bed and since we are in February we called the reception asking to get one for the night. The receptionist was quite rude and started raising his voice, saying that we didn’t need one because we already had the white blanket and the heating and that he wasn’t even sure they had any extra covers in the hotel. Only when we insisted for long time he then said he was gonna “see what he could do”. He then came back a bit later with two covers that looked incredibly dusty with some old hair on it. Disgusting.
The only pro of this hotel is the breakfast - great range of options both savoury and sweet.

It was a really great place to stay. A little noisy with all the construction. We walked to the Grand Place from the hotel just make sure to follow the river not go left or right. Parking was crappy but that’s anywhere in Europe to be honest but other than minor inconveniences it is a great hotel for a one to two night stay. Staff was very friendly and professional.

We stayed in the same Branch of Best Westin in Munich. There was a huge difference in both the hotels. The Munich property was way more clean, big and comfortable. This property was not upto the mark. They didn't provide water bottles also. No complimentary water. The water heater was very dirty from inside. Room was both small and uncomfortable. The property is near train station but away from the nightlife.

We had issues with mould in the shower and on the inside of the windows. Front desk was very apologetic and upgrade us to a larger and quieter room, which was much appreciated. The hotel had recently been renovated, and even the new room had an issue with water leakage from the shower onto one corner of the carpeted floor. We wonder why this had not been repaired. The front desk were helpful and friendly, the hotel has great potential... just needs to work out the issues with the renovations.

À charming business hotel between 2 worlds

The hotel is at a proximity from Bruxelles Gare Nord, at a small, manageable steep hill. The benefit I liked was that it’s located at 2 steps from the Botanic Gardens and 500m from the central enclave where la grande place, shops, malls, restaurants and coffee shops are. The area itself doesn’t not have much amenities besides the small redlight district and the arabic snack bars.

Outstanding value at 49/night for a very attractive twin room with a view, super convenient location close to train station and access to hundreds of (mainly middle Eastern) restaurants) and with the added proximity to the lively red light district. Only downside is the extensive commercial development in the area, with plenty of new awful high-rises.

Terrible. Room dirty. Whole place looks dated and very worn out, walls marked, carpets stained, towels stained, one of the pillows had dried blood on it.
Was woken up by the laundry delivery at 5am, had to tell the guy to be quiet but it continued until I left at 8am. Bed very soft. Had a terrible nights sleep. Overpriced. Area didn’t look the safest. Car across the road was broken into. Glad I only stayed one night. Would never return.

Tolerable for 1 night in the city

Check-in is actually 2 PM, NOT 24-hours!! One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because we were flying in to Brussels early in the morning (7 AM) and was hoping to be able to drop off our stuff and maybe rest a little; but when we got to the hotel, we were told they did not have any rooms available because it was not check-out/check-in time yet. They were kind enough to hold our luggage, though, so we didn't have to drag everything around while we explored the city.
Unrelated to the hotel, but if you're looking for something to do in Brussels, most places don't open until 11 AM from what I noticed - even the park nearby is closed until noon! The Grand Place is about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel and is definitely more enjoyable at that early hour without all the tourists. We passed many beautiful churches and cathedrals on the way there and just exploring the surrounding area.
The elevator is VERY small. The carpet in the room looks a bit dirty. The walls in the room look gross. The ceiling in the bathroom had mold growing on it. The shower curtains are thin and we kept flooding a section of the bathroom whenever we showered because there was just no way to 100% contain the water. The beds were comfy. We were only in Brussels for 1 night and this hotel did its job. It wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't the worst.
The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and patient and informative.

Great hotel very close to the train station

Brilliant hotel behind Brussels nord station. Easy check in and very clean. Only down side was the wall from the train station to the hotel (5 minutes) was it was walking through a rough area with beggars and lots off mess. The paths could do with been upgraded but the street cleaners were out in force every morning to clean up as they needed it. Great hotel though.

Our experience at the Best Western City Centre was terrible. The room floor was stained with dirt and what looked like vomit, the bathroom was not cleaned and had mold growing in the shower and the walls had remnants of spray paint on them. I will be sending an email to your customer service department about this experience because it was so bad.

Parking is okay but you have to pay, a lot and the neighborhood is not the best . We actually went to walk to a restaurant and found a bad neighborhoid by the metro that was a red light district. On the plus side, If you are using the metro its right there. Construction woke us up during the week next doir.
I suggest they put im a fulltime restaurant for their guests.

The hotel is located in the 'wrong' side of the railway tracks. There are no decent shops nearby. My room air-conditioner did cool (it just blow air) and for my 3 night stay the cleaning staff did not replenish my shampoo, body cleanser or body lotion. The wifi service was good and the breakfast was adequate.
