The room was clean, but there was no phone and the TV and air conditioner didnt work. The stairs to the tiny lift were unsafe as handrails were lacking and my 87 year old mother fell. The front desk wasn't concerned thst this had occurred. No report was filed, but there's a reason why the hotel was do much cheaper. The lift was too small to accommodate more than 1 guest with luggage.

1. You have to pay extra for parking if you bring a car. There is a parking space nearby. 2. At first the hot water didnt work in our room. It was winter time. So we complained and the staff was very responsive even it was around 9pm and the issue was fixed not long after. We gave 5 star for this support. 3. Location is great. Many shopping or dining options nearby. But if you're up to for groceries, it was kinda 10 minutes walking distance.

Overeall a reasonable hotel however the rooms need a full refurbishment, furniture is mismatched, plus bathroom was very dated. As room was close to the stairs there was some noise at times. Staff were helpful. Close to Metro station and walking distance to the centre of Brussels.

Overall the room is okay. I like the proximity to the metro and tram. The staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. However, the shower drain needs to be checked just to make sure that water is draining properly. Also additional hooks to hang towels or clothing article.

Great little room with options to open two large windows or have air conditioning, nice bathroom, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was included and all day coffee or tea and some pastries, extremely close to train station and tram, there is a small grocery store open until 11pm in the train station which was convenient, really happy i stayed here

Front desk lady named Sara was amazing, very friendly and professional. Loved the general area where the hotel is located, not too far from city center. Toilet could use a tune up but other than that very comfortable stay.

We were on a budget and this hotel delivered good value for money. Staff were friendly, nice breakfast room and range of food, good location. Our stay could have been better with a few changes - more than just one English breakfast tea bag, soap in the bathroom and an extra pillow (we asked at reception but there were no extra pillows available).

Well placed little place

I had a comfortable stay here. The room was a perfecr little haven of peace overlooking a garden area.

The hotel is only metres off a main high end shopping avenue and the walk into the main tourist areas was interesting viewing ..with a park opposite or alternately along abd down the mont de arts.

The breakfast was exceptional .

Unfortunately the lift wasnt working and i was on the 4Th floor , so lots of exercise .

The compensation was a complimentry breakfast.

Lift was broken and wasnt notified, placed a 30week pregnant lady on the 4th floor! So had to climb those stairs daily!

Breakfast was very poor! Very cramped and over crowded. Poor food choice, and often ran out, coffee machine didnt work! Should really offer Breakfast as a booking system to avoid this!

We had no shower gel in our bathroom. Air-conditioning didnt work was bowing out boiling hot air.

Stayed here for a short family break and enjoyed ourselves very much. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, good selection for breakfast buffet, and the location was great for travelling around Brussels. Would definitely stay here again on my next trip

We stayed as a family with 4 single beds, the rooms are spacious and the bathroom was fine.
The continental breakfast was good and has different coffees and warm pancakes and fruit juices, so whole family happy
The beds in the main room, just needs stoppers on them, if you learn against them or get to the middle, they move apart far too easy. Otherwise a good night sleep. Will stay again.

The hotel appears to mainly cater for business clients, but welcomed our young family nonetheless. Friendly, helpful staff, great wi-fi and excellent breakfasts make for a relaxing stay. Bathrooms could do with updating, but showers were hot and powerful, which made up for it in my eyes! Great location for exploring Brussels, we would definitely return here.

The room was nice. A decent bed. It had a coffee pot which is important to my husband. The windows open and even though it was December I like fresh air. The buffet breakfast was very nice. Eggs, cheese, meat, fruits, breads, juice and more. The front desk people were nice and the location worked for us to see the Christmas markets.

Very basic hotel with poor to no amenities

This hotel is very basic with minimal amenities. My room was so tiny the night-stand was crammed behind a dusty chair, and there was no bedside lamp. I had to push the tiny desk over to be able to fit my suitcase on the stand. There was a ration of one bath towel and one hand towel per day, however, the shower was the lovely open European kind, with no bathmat. When I asked for a bathmat or extra towel, staff argued with me. While I support not cleaning towels every day for ecological reasons, without a bath mat, the floor flooded and was slippery. Eventually, I received one extra handtowel to use as a bathmat. (It may have been because I have a habit of tipping housekeeping having once worked as such.) There were two plugs in the room, one behind the bed and one under the suitcase rack, so I had to climb under the furniture or push the bed aside to plug in my phone and laptop. There was no coffee maker, just a kettle which did not reach the outlet (see previous comment). There was no room safe; they were supposed to provide a safe at reception, but I was told they had no place to keep things. The breakfast was basic, the coffee quite good. I expected a small room but was hoping for European historical. Instead, the hotel was built with new-ish low-grade materials, in a bit of disrepair. There was no security, anyone could walk in and go upstairs. The location close to Louise metro made it easy to get around. I would not recommend this hotel.

This is the third year of staying at the Hotel Argus and this year they have improved the facilities to make the stay better. I stay while visiting the classic car show each November. Plenty of eateries in the area and top brand name shopping for the ladies. We will be back again next year.

Pros: location, attentive staff, good breakfast
Cons: Moldy bathroom?
Overall our stay was pretty good, with a small detail about spots of mold growing in the bathroom tiles, which they promised to remove and clean thoroughly after we left.
the property was very well situated, with restaurants, museums, and shops all within 15 min walking distance. The grand Place is only 10-15 min more.
The section of town is very quiet and the staff was very attentive.
The breakfast is a very complete Continental (bread, juice, eggs, sausages/bacon, yogurt, cheese, fresh fruit, coffee, crepes, tea, and chocolate) but exactly the same every day.
The hotel does not have a Laundry room, but there is one 10 min walk from there.

Very good position, close to the subway and to the city centre. The staff (reception, room service, breakfast service) is extremely helpful and friendly, the breakfast is abundant and varied. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the price is really low in comparison to Brussels standards.
On the other hand, the carpets are old and shabby and the bathrooms need to be refurbished. A complet refurbishing of the hotel is planned, they told me, by 2019.

Absolutely horrible. Stains all over the walls and curtains, broken air conditioning, broken refrigerator, no safe in the room. Had a sign up that you weren’t allowed to open the windows even with the stifling hot conditions. Felt extremely unclean and we ended up leaving our non-refundable room in order to stay elsewhere because of the conditions.

Great location. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room wasn’t really large enough for 3 people and there were issues with the bathroom - sink blocked and bath plug didn’t fit. We asked for a different room and were told there wasn’t one available however when we mentioned a move to another hotel an alternative (much nicer) room was available. We were happy with the new room.

The reception people were great, specially Omid, he gave me alot of advices in were to go and visit in Brussels. Omid also was really polite and awesome in general!
However the room that I had was not clean and one of my pillowcases was dirty even after they cleaned my room.
The breakfast was relatively good.
And the Wifi in my floor was not working during my stay.

A total nightmare

Room was in a bad shape, with black mold on the bathroom walls and stained sheets. There is no complimentary water, but you could get a small bottle from a vending machine for €3.5. We were kept awake until late, as the walls were paper thin and could hear both next door and upstair guests taking showers and their full conversations. The real nightmare though started at 6am when we were woken up by drills from a construction site next door. There was no such notice on the hotels site, which simply not acceptable.The drills went on till 8:30 am when we vacated our room. We contacted the reception about the noise pollution at such an early hour and pointing out that it is illegal and should be reported and they simply stated that it was annoying for them too. Breakfast was \"continental\" and had the absolute minimum.

Decent rooms of hotel conveniently located

Location: Hotel is located in a nicer part of town. It was 20 min walking distance from MIDI long distance train station, Grand place and other related tourist spots in Brussels. It was 2 minute walking to the nearest M local train station Louise. Overall the hotel was located conveniently for a solo traveler like myself.

Room and stay: Hotel room was bare bones and had the basic amenities that a normal traveler would require. Hotel staff were nice to accommodate me by holding my luggage and letting me relax in the lobby for a few hours while I waited.

Conclusion: decent no thrills hotel that should suffice the needs of a solo traveler or a couple.

We were supposed to have spent the day shopping and sight seeing around the city Centre but the weather was awe full, freezing cold and wet. However, the hotel was well located for what we needed and the hotel staff were great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to spend time in Brussels. It also had convenient parking which was great since we arrived late and didn’t want the hassle of lugging our cases any great distances.

Nice budget hotel in excellent location

Friendly hotel staff. The hotel is in a perfect location on a quiet street right in the centre. Added bonus is the nice art collection in the hotel. Rooms are basic but beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is adequate but the staff is makes up for it by sheer pleasantness. Perfect for single travellers who are budget conscious. Good value for money.

Convenient location, good breakfast and friendly staff was spoiled by weak and mostly non-existent Wi-Fi and luke-warm water at such a low pressure the shower did not work at all. This hotel has been a favourite of mine for many years, but I will not take the risk of staying here again. I had pointed out the problems with the Wi-Fi on a previous visit two weeks ago when they had been able to move me to a front room with better Wi-Fi, but obviously nothing has been done to fix it. I will not risk booking a stay at the Argus Hotel again.

Stayed 8 nights. Staff very polite, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast room is bright and fresh despite being in the basement area. Breakfast foods really good and tasty, plenty of good choices of continental meats and cheese, fruits, cereals, hot dishes and toast. The free WiFi was excellent, absolutely no problems at all with connectivity or download/upload responses. Hotel decor may be a little tired in some ways but the staff and the facilities generally compensate in my opinion. Hotel was quiet internally with little noise. Comfortable bed in my room. Close to Metro for access to wider Brussels area ( just 10 mins away by Metro but a walkable distance anyway), some decent shops and a couple of restaurants close by, as well as a pretty interesting weekend Flea Market for browsing. Certainly I would be happy to stay again at Hotel Argus when next in Brussels.

The Argus is for the traveller who is either on a budget or doesn't need any amenities like gym or bar. Staff is friendly and accommodates needs of travelers - including early check-in if feasible. great location away from tourist traps

Overall mediocre room, what I would call a \"maid's room\" at best (I travel single and thus got a single room with single bed). The toilet kept flushing every 30 seconds, and when I mentioned it at the reception nothing was done about it. After the second night I couldn't bear it any more and I was offered another quite similar room. In the fridge I found a molded sandwich dated 2 months earlier. I did like the location in the posh shopping district, yet away from traffic and thus quiet. No cable TV, internet unsecured (google chrome would not connect me)

Nice simple room good for a quick stay

I stayed in the Argus for 10 days on a business trip in BXL. The hotel is simple, a good value but nothing extravagant. The rooms are small (nothing new for a BXL hotel) but are clean and well kept. My room (5th floor) was a bit 'old' with a simple bed/desk/chair trio but the bathroom was updated, modern and relatively spacious compared to some I've seen before. Staff was always pleasant and friendly. Location is convenient next to Metro and major shopping area surrounding Ave Louise, but be careful as when the shops close (early by American standards) you are left with a 10+ minute walk to the nearest signs of nightlife.

For a hotel located virtually on Toison d'Or and with easy access to Place Louise Metro and tram station, the location couldn't be better. The rooms are clean, basically furnished - some smaller than others. An excellent continental breakfast is included in the cost.

Insofar as value for money goes, this place is far superior to many other 3 and 4 star hotels charging ludicrous rates, just because of the EU capital tag.

Verified traveler

Hotel and rooms were clean; location is terrific. The problem is that the front desk and staff were unresponsive. the refrigerator was emptied out without saying a word about why (so no water, juices etc were available). Also, no adapter cords for computers from outside Europe. A friend dropped off an adapter and no word was ever conveyed to me. I was about to try to buy one in another part of town when i happened to notice a bag behind the desk. I had to ask if it was for me. The person who was \"on duty\" when it was dropped off said nothing, left no note, and did not contact me. I ordered a cab the day before returning and when I checked to see about it on day of departure, the person at the front desk knew nothing about it. It turned out that the cab was in fact ordered, but there was no record of it, so we simplyhad to wait to see. The service in the breakfast room was very good, and when there was a toilet problem, someone came to fix it right away. The problem is really with the front desk. One person at least was not \"tuned in\" when taking messages.

Hotel Argus - friendly and helpful

A nice little hotel with friendly and helpful service. Although check out is 12.00 they let us use the room for a little longer without a charge. Breakfast service was convenient (from 7.00am) although a fairly limited choice. Overall an enjoyable stay.

The location was easy to get to and very close to the shopping district. We found the room to be very clean, both the bedroom and the bathroom. It was nice that they offered free wi-fi.

The bed was almost too comfortable making it hard for us to wake up to sightsee!
