Property is a refurbished building. Rooms are clean and freshly renovated. It’s quiet and a short walk to Brussels Midi. Very helpful staff and space in the lobby if you need to work. Terrace out the back is a sun trap. Would stay again.

Check in was easy and the reception person was very accommodating. I have had physical issues and they kindly gave us a late check out so I could rest. They stored our luggage and we relaxed in the lounge after check out.

It's not in the city centre but there's plenty of travel options that are regular and reliable. Theres also many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops nearby. I accidentally booked a room for two when I only wanted a single. I messaged this hotel, who didn't answer my query and were only interested in being paid. My card company had stopped my card due to fraud. This hotel suggested I send the details of another card by Expedia message, where it says \"do not send credit card details with Expedia messages\". By this time I had lost faith in them and didn't want to stay there. However, they held me to ransom by refusing to cancel my booking. They understand that as a result of that I will be giving them a bad review, so here it is. They are clearly not interested in my repeat business and they should not get yours.

Disappointing, very hot room
The staff were really accommodating and sweet, and we really appreciated them and the tasty breakfast. The room, however, was really disappointing. The carpet was in desperate need of replacement - and looked so dirty it made us feel uncomfortable on entering and the heat was so stifling - even with an extra fan! We were very uncomfortable, unable to sleep and there was nothing we could do. The phone to reception didnt work. The windows wouldnt stay open and were right onto the street below. We had to request the wifi to be reset at least 4 times. This was supposed to be a treat for my daughter and it was a complete letdown in that regard. You dont want to check in and complain especially when the staff were so nice and there was nothing else they could do...

The hotel is situated away from the centre of Brussels, but is well served by a direct bus to Grand Place, or by a tram service with one change to Central Station. Travel tickets are available from the reception. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke English, always willing to assist with any queries. There are various restaurants and cafes/bars/ shops around the hotel, so although it only served breakfast, there is no shortage of places to eat. You can also order 'take-in' food to eat at the hotel.

Room was old-fashioned and had a broken window, but it was clean: The room had old furniture and it reminded me of the hotels I have seen in the old American movies. We had only one power plug, which was not convenient to charge two phones. The noisy fridge made me remember my student days when I used to live in the university dorms. But, although the first impression of the room was not the great, it was quite clean.

when I was checking in, the receptionist took a copy of my passsport without asking if it was ok with me, when I told her I wasnt happy about it, she rudely node her head saying she is only doing her job. I was asking to destroy the copy afterwards and I wanted to speak wiht the manager and I was dennied the access to the managment. Next day, same situation, after all, my passport is my personal data and I was asking questions politetly. I was answered in a very rude way and abusive. I will nevefr go back there , the rooms smelled and the breakfast was terrible. Location far away from the gare too, not in that close as they claimed. The area not nice at all.

A very convenient hotel for the Eurostar terminal and main railway station. A friendly welcome and very helpful receptionist the next morning, the rooms were clean, bed comfy we had everything we required. The reception was elegant and comfortable. Did not really get chance to see the surrounding area but Gare du Midi was 15 minute walk away so easy access into the centre of Brussels. It was just amazing. I have stayed in many hotels before in Brussels but Fierlant made me feel home. The staffs were fantastic. I had my friends who came to visit me at the hotel. We stayed in the lounge I bought some drinks the next thing we heard some Congolese music being played in the background to accommode us. That was brilliant amazing we all love it and it was an ice on the cake - Marvellous. I also enjoyed the breakfast.

The hotel maintains a decent standard about a mile south of Midi/Zuid station. The water was hot, the good-sized room and linen were clean. It was equipped with a fridge, kettle and plenty of storage space. Breakfast was standard. The surrounding area is inner city residential. It's a fairly drab 15-20 minute walk to Midi/Zuid station but quite close to the Wiels gallery, which has an interesting cafe. Otherwise, to reach the city centre, take a bus or tram from Orban. To approach the centre via St Gillis and Ave Louise take tram 97 from Berthelot at the top of the road. My visit coincided with a heatwave - without aircon my west-facing room became uncomfortably hot throughout the afternoon and evening. The staff, who were very helpful with everything, provided a fan. Had it not been for the lack of aircon, I would have given a higher rating for comfort.

The only drawback for us was the parking which was either on the road, or round the corner (5-10 mins walk from the hotel). Other than parking which could be a challenge (we were lucky to find a space nearby and as it was Sunday the next day we didn’t need to pay) the hotel was lovely, good location within walking distance of the centre, nice staff, very clean and near good food and supermarket options.
There is a lovely place called Manolito’s (had it opened Sunday we would have gone back for a second night) but also just down the road from Manolitos is a gorgeous pizza place which is also worth a visit.

We stayed here for two nights in October 2017, having chosen this hotel because of its reasonable cost, its proximity to Brussels Midi railway station, and the fact that the price included breakfast. The Fierlant is a basic and small local hotel, not a vacation spot. Pros: The young lady assisting our check in was cheerful and extremely helpful, basic breakfast was included. Cons: I felt uncomfortable and wary in he local neighborhood, Gare Brussels Midi is the nearest transportation stop with a 15 minute walk, and no A/C.

Limited eating options nearby but some good patisseries and we bought quiche or pastries to take back to the room in the evening or ate in town before getting bus or train back. Excellent transport network, brilliant museums and art galleries. Brussels people generally very polite and helpful. We had great holiday.

The Hotel is located a bit off the beaten path but in a quiet neighborhood. The hotel was very clean with a very helpful staff. The breakfast was great. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. They hotel staff was amazing and even volunteered to call in my dinner order for me on my first night. The hotel is about a 10 Euro cab fare to Grand Market or Central station. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for somewhere affordable yet nice. The Internet is in and out but worked great once connection was established, so ignore the reviews that says its absolute terrible. Enjoy your stay!!

Nice older Hotel but a bit quirky
Good Hotel but a bit quirky. Previous reviews mentioned deoderizer being sprayed into room on check-in day, which we experienced. Front desk made photocopy of my U.S. Passport on check-in and made me pay for my entire stay whereas I noticed French clients payed their bill at checkout. Maybe they mistrust Americans? Otherwise, service was good and the rooms were spacious. Just across the street, you can catch bus 341 for 2 euros with the final stop at the Arc de Triomphe.

Nice hotel with friendly staff
Staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived too early for check in and allowed us to store our luggage while we went out to explore the city of Brussels. She gave us maps and tips to get around the city and sights to see. The room was clean and had a fridge, kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. This was a pleasant surprise as almost all hotels I've stayed at around Europe didn't have these facilities. The room was spacious and clean. Free wifi and buffet breakfast is included. If the location was better than I would five 5 stars. The area around the hotel didn't appear too safe.

Not too far from Grand Place or the Midi train station (about 10-15 Euro each way). Very friendly staff and it was nice having the bar there. Wanted to get some water, sodas, and beers, so it was super convenient. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. We really liked the large bathroom and shower, made things so much easier that way. Although the free breakfast seemed a little strange to us because there were cold cuts, it was still an added benefit. Nice to get some juice/coffee and pastries, etc before having to head off to the train station. Plus they were kind enough to offer to call taxis for us. The lounge is really comfy and open, plus they have wi-fi and a little business center you can use for free. The TV didn't turn on at all, but we really didn't have time or the energy to bother dealing with it. Overall it was a nice hotel at a reasonable price.

Lovely staff! Can't praise Xenia from the Ukraine too highly at reception. Pierre and Yusef also good. Breakfast excellent, cleaning efficient. As value for money ? 1st class! Very attractive public areas, quality decor and furnishings, nice bar area. We stayed 3 nights, took Xenias recommendation for local Belgian restaurant , 6-8 mins stroll away, great choice if you want to eat with locals at a very reasonable price and a warm welcome when you return. Just perfect for us, the Patron and his wife were just fantastic, so welcoming and the food was wonderful and priced very reasonably.

Needed somewhere within 20 mins walking distance of Brussels Midi for a one night stop over and Hotel de Fierlant was the perfect solution for us based on price and location.

There are games to play if you need to pass the time with a Belgium beer. The lift, stairs and hallway could do with a little bit of an overhaul but the room we stayed in was fine.

The hotel is a great place to stay but a bit out of the way. There was a bit of a distance to the bus stop. They do have a private parking garage if you are driving so you don't have to park in the street. The neighborhood is very residential and not in the best place it seemed, but no troubles at all. It's just not the easiest place to find. However, the hotel is very nice; night clerk was a wonderful gentleman and the breakfast was very continental. Overall, a nice, inexpensive hotel, just a bit off the beaten path.

The front desk lady was very accommodating, spoke English well. Every question we had about local travel and the area she was helpful and cheerful. Breakfast was nice, good croissants. The bathroom smelled bad like the sewer system was stuck. We were afraid to use the shower to bathe. The towels looked grey and dingy so we did not take a shower.

Good location in terms of seeing Brussels, 10 min walk to metro station. Nice breakfast. But, our room had an unpleasant smell and there was a building site behind the hotel, so was noisy and woken at 6am on weekend.

We selected this hotel for its price and location near the Bruxelles Midi station. In fact the surroundings are not great and we would not recommend walking late at night. The hotel receptionist was charming and helpful. Rooms are fine for the price and the breakfast is not bad.

Easy access to public transport e.g. Trams & Buses. Buy your tourist Travel Pass @ the Midi Rail Station as it is very economical. A single bus journey costs €2.50. I have not use the Metro service as travelling on buses offer better views of the city area.

Good value hotel not too far from Brussels-Zuid
For a 3-star hotel it was quite acceptable without providing any pleasant surprises. Breakfast (included in price) was varied but with no hot food. The room was what you'd expect from a good budget hotel in the UK and was, in the 5 days I was there, well made up each day. Staff were really friendly too, and very helpful when required.
The main drawback to the hotel at present is due to a new building being constructed at the back of the hotel and the workmen on the site start work at 7am each morning. No good if you want a lie in! It looks like it's going to take a few more months to complete the work.
