An excellently-located hotel for travellers arriving at and leaving from Brussels Midi station, with spacious rooms, very comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Our stay was less than great because of the temperature of the room, which when we arrived was probably in the high 20sºC and as such unbearable. When we told the front desk staff as we left for the evening the solution offered was to switch off the room's heating completely – when we returned the temperature had lowered slightly, but it was only in the small hours of the morning that it was anything like acceptable. The person on check-out the next morning was apologetic that the temperature had been so high.

Check in was slow with only one member of staff allowed to check in, who was on a long call with someone wanting a refund. Few staff spoke good English. The hotel felt tired and dated with smallish rooms. The breakfast was underwhelming. The only benefit is that it is steps away from the Channel Tunnel trains.

The area surrounding the hotel isn't a hell hole but we saw some seedy characters and picked up our pace walking back to hotel. For a one night stay with a flight the next morning, it really served us well with the hotel being attached to the train station.

The hotel was always kept in immaculate condition and our room was very clean and modern. The king size bed was very comfortable and had 2 different types of pillows to choose from. It was about a mile/mile and a half from the centre of the city but did have train & metro stations very close by. I can’t comment on those however as we never used those modes of transport. There was a good selection of shops & eateries inside the train station which were very handy though. The staff were all very helpful & friendly. The only issue I had was getting out of the bath (I’m a short lady of a certain age and the ledge of the bath was very wide). Other than that minor issue, we had an enjoyable stay.
