We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The hotel was nicely decorated, very clean and the staff was polite and helpful.

We loved that there were several options for breakfast: full continental breakfast at 16 euros, but also smaller options at 4.50 and 7 euros, which was ideal for us as we do not eat a lot in the morning.

There is a vending machine just by the lift, so we could get water.

The room was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable.

Regarding the location, I won't lie, the surrounding area is not super nice, with rubbish on the street, however I won't let this affect my rating as it's not the hotel's fault and it's a bit like that everywhere in Brussels as soon as you leave the old town centre. However we felt safe and I wouldn't define the are dangerous at all.

Regarding the location, it was really good: 15 minutes walk from Midi Station (so you can easily travel to Bruges/Ghent which are cities I truly recommend!) and 12 minutes from the old town. There are also buses/trams 5-10 minutes away to the Parliament or the Atomium.

I would say, if I really have to suggest something extra that would have made our stay even better:
- It would be great to have a kettle in the room, just to be able to take a tea in the afternoon or before going to sleep.
- The check-in process took quite long, despite we were there at 3pm, the rooms were not ready and we had to wait about an hour. They offered us a drink during the waiting though.

The area around the hotel is run down and we felt quite intimated by it. The receptionist was neither friendly nor helpful. The room did not have a kettle and no provision for beverages. If one needs to use the iron and the board you need to go to a different room with your clothes, the first of its kind - never seen elsewhere in the world.

Hotel is a diamond in the rough. It’s easy to look at the neighbourhood and be put off booking, please don’t. Our stay of 6 in our party was fantastic the care of the staff always willing to help and the very high standard of the hotel means we can’t overstate how great a find this was for us and only a short walk from the train station and the bus stop for the centre.
Well done ‘we will be back.’ 👍

This hotel is wonderful! They have safe parking and the hotel is very comfortable. The area outside looks unsafe and littered. I don’t think I would walk around that neighborhood at night at all. We used Uber to get to and from the city center. The staff and the hotel itself was truly amazing and a true gem. All of their staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very polite! I would stay here again regardless of the neighborhood.

Overall it’s a nice stay in this hotel, the room is clean and neat. No air conditioning but it’s ok in this weather. The service is good. It’s located between Station Midi and the town centre, require 15 mins walking between, the neighborhood is not a very pleasant area though.

The only downward is the location. It's located just a couple minutes away by feet of the center of the city and it feels like a totally different city. It's super dirty, with garbage and detritus laying in the street. It seems like a lot of residents in this area are, unfortunately, very filthy and disrespectful of the cleanliness of their city.

It's too bad the hotel is located in this area because like I said, I have nothing wrong to say about th hotel itself, nor the staff. Everything was great.

I'll start by saying that the hotel is absolutely lovely. The staff are very welcoming and happy to help, the check-in process was very easy and the rooms were very comfortable. My biggest issue relates to the area that the hotel is in. It feels completely out of place. The area outside looks a mess, with trash all over, lots of parked cars, bins blocking large portions of the pavement and generally people loitering at all hours of the day. We were warned on check-in about pickpockets in the area and even the short walk from the tram stop to the hotel felt unsafe. There's unfortunately not a lot the hotel can do about this but I would say don't stay here as a vulnerable solo traveller as you'll feel very uncomfortable.

As for the hotel, my only grumble was with the temperature of the shower. It would've been acceptable for washing your hands in but it made getting a shower a very cold and uncomfortable experience. We did report it to maintainance but was told it was beyond their control. It would also be beneficial to have some dimmer lights in the bathroom because it was very bright in there.

On the plus side the foyer was lovely, the bedroom was spacious, it had a decent TV. The stay in the room was very comfortable so absolutely no complaints there.

The Hotel is about a 10 min walk from Bruxelles Midi station. Leave by the main entrance and walk through the bus stops. Keep going across the main road. The streets are a bit grimy.
The hotel is obvious and clean. The desk was staffed at 23:00 when I arrived. The room on he tiop floor was clean but a bit dull. The bed was large and comfortable. There was a walk in shower with good water heat and pressure. The bathroom was very clean.
As I left at 07:20 for a train I saw little of the interior but the breakfast area looked inviting.

Area around the hotel felt very unsafe. Would not feel comfortable wondering around past sundown, was bad enough during the day. We got locked in a shop when trying to purchase a drink! The locals put the shutters down, trapping us unside. Very unnerving! Run down dirty place - would never return to Brussels! Stay away from Brussels for lesuire purposes. Find somewhere else. Honest feedback.

The person at the front desk was very rude, and seem bothered by questions, I thought it was a bad day but the next day she was there and had an attitude. Also the room we had been assigned the night before was the room that was being used for bathroom use since the bathroom in the lobby was not working (this was the story that was given to us).

Lovely hotel and very nice staff. Do not recommend dining, limited breakfast, but very nice people. Area was about 25 min walk to central train station, 30 min to area for tour buses. MANY immigrants in area from Africa, Middle East, very conservative Muslims. No problems but made me uncomfortable as a single woman walking - would not walk in area after dark. A lot of trash on sidewalks. 15 min walk from hotel towards center of city, area was great. Hotel room small, no air conditioning or electric hot pot for coffee or tea, but very clean, comfortable, pleasant view of park next door, has underground parking garage and outdoor courtyard.

The hotel is great but the surrounding neighbourhood felt a little sketchy. My friend and I went on a Sunday so it was probably why it felt more deserted. The receptionist was great to us and even helped take our order when we had dinner. The inside of the hotel is very modern and spacious. The rooms were equally spacious and very clean. REALLY comfortable beds. We did not try to the breakfast buffet but when we arrived halfway through the service it seemed like most of the food was gone. Overall great service!

This was quite an amazing hotel! Very modern with lots of artistic features, including paintings and other artwork and the library. An excellent breakfast was offered. The location was easy to access with underground parking in house. They put a lot of money into this place, which is recently built.

The interior of Hotel Van Belle is very nice, friendly staffs and it's walking distance from a tram station. There was no AC in the rooms. The neighborhood is not the best but we felt safe and comfortable. For the price, it's a great hotel!
