do not stay.

when we arrived at 6pm, the lights were off in reception and in the hotel in general, once we checked in we headed to the room. In the corridors one light came on and the rest did not meaning we had to use phone torches to find the room.

The room looked like a prison cell, and did not match the photos. The light was hanging off the ceiling and it was dirty in general. We had to stay somewhere else as me and my girlfriend felt unsafe.

I have been in contact with the hotel in regards to this, but they are ignoring my message.

Clean Mondrian-esque meets industrial-chic room. 10 minute tram ride from Bruxelles midi and across the river from the historic centre. Not sure why this place gets low reviews. It was totally decent, and good value for Brussels.

Bed was comfy, room was big. It was easy to get to. Unfortunately, that's where the good parts end. It was not sound proof as advertised. Loud horns continously beaping, cars and bike revving, people shouting, fireworks etc from 10pm on Sunday for 2 straight hours. I have no idea why. The hotel said it was football celebrations but this seems excessive. Brussells is the noisiest city I've ever been too, it beats New York Also the sounds of other guests in the hotel, banging, and the corridor lights going on and off (the gap around door meant that the whole room lit up) stopped us sleeping. There is also a thermostat, for controlling the heating that did not work so the room was far too hot our entire 3 night stay. And a green light from the thermostat was so bright we had to stick something over it. The pillows were terrible, and no kettle.

The concept is brilliant and we totally support training of the young. The people we interacted with were incredibly lovely and accomodating. As a training place there is some fine tuning re the details of the room. The room had some residue of cleaning products etc.

The building is minimalistic with concrete walls and if thats not your vibe maybe try elsewhere we found it fine.

Price wise it was fine.

Neighborhood wise its close to central Brussels which is great. However the area around the hotel was really dirty with rubbish. A restaurant nearby had its windows broken. It might not be the safest for a solo traveller but for us it was fine.

Overall a good place to stay dragged down a bit by the neighbourhood.

We didnt feel very safe staying here. On one of the days the cleaner left our door unlocked! We'd been gone for 7hrs! Luckily nothing was taken. They give you a key card for the door for after hours but the door was open so late we never used it. The side door to all the rooms was also open. The area didnt feel very safe with weird men at night and we didnt like that the door was left open and anyone could have walked in. The room was clean and staff friendly enough but we wouldnt stay here again. Oh also says you can check in at 2pm. We got there at 2pm and he wouldnt check us in until 2.55pm and said \"its between 2pm and 3pm. So maybe they need to update the website.

That hotel not have any ventilation, asked the staff,and he said can open the window, but the key kept in manager,but he already off shift,the staff said can ask on morning when manager come, we just can stayed in the chair outside of the room and can't sleep whole night.
And the hotel opened the main door whole night,and side door the lock was broken, not had any staff after 23:00 , that's mean not had any secure and unsafe.
And I highly not recommend stay in the hotel without parking, because we parked on the street outside of the hotel,and we back at 07:00, and saw two man trying to open our car's door. We shouting and the man said just want to looking our car and leave our car,we check our car,already had some scratch and the rubber were broken.

The room was lightyears away from what's been offered on Expedia. I thought I'm booking a Family Double Room, which on the quite confusing offer seemed to be a literally two spaces double room, with what looked like a spacious couch, and two single beds, air conditioning, fridge, etc, as the images seemed to represent. Instead we found ourselves in a small room, crammed with two single beds, plus a foldable one. After some phone negotiation with the actually decent receptionist, we were given a \"deluxe\" room, slightly bigger, one king bed and a foldable bed.
However, to our dismay, the room was nowhere near deluxe. No air conditioning, the space for the mini fridge empty, the once white, now gray towels had worn out to transparent patches. The floor and walls were of a depressing, industrial, unfinished looking grey, and the toilet without a hand washing sink, was in a small cubicle, separate from the bathroom.
The advertised restaurant on level 5 was closed even at aprox 8pm when I checked, but it seemed rather unused, and as I noticed through the closed door, in disarray. The \"terrace\", actually a semi-accessible larger balcony, completely inaccessible in a safe way for a ♿, could be only reached through a window-type door over a tall and wide step.
The hotel building had a ♿access ramp, which completely inappropriately, started literally by a space filled with bin bags, at least two discarded suitcases, and other dumped items.
Hence he \"never again\" rating.

Booked a room for 3 people, the extra bed was defective so the third person had to basically sleep on the floor. Did not receive any compensation for that, which would be nice. We asked for an additional hour to check out (12 pm instead od 11 am), and the staff was not really helpful, this would be a great compensation for sleeping on a defective extra bed so very poor service.
It is indicated on expedia that there is parking nearby which is not the case so beware of this if you are in need of parking.

The Room temperature was a bit cold as was the hotel design in general. You have to walk about 10 minutes to reach the Metro station \" Comte de Flandre \" from there you are just 2 stations away from the heart of Brussels. Very convenient. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Big Up!

Excellent room. Good size double bed. Working TV. Lot of desk/cupboard space to let you unpack.
Proper bathroom (not just a wet room) with good lighting. The concrete does seem to hold in the heat so the room fan was appreciated.
Had an issue with my key at one point and reception resolved it immediately.
Good location - straight line from the canal outside to the Grand Place made it very easy to find.

Doing last min booking, so may not have read the fine prints but this place has no AC. We were provided with one small fan for a family of 5.

Had booked and paid for 5 for about $275, so not having AC was a huge issue as we had to open the door to the balcony and you can hear all traffic, police cars, motorcycle throughout the night. And it was still very hot as whole family didn’t sleep well

Staff was nice but facility was poor excuse for not having AC, even if it’s to save the planet.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

The heating system doesn't work. Even on the coldest setting, it spews a constant jet of hot air into the room. The staff are not able to turn it off, and they said the only alternative would be to turn off all electricity to the room (including lights, wall sockets, etc.) The area surrounding the hotel is very loud (sirens, music and shouting), so having the windows open even just a bit to try to cool the room down will make it very noisy. Also, some rooms have broken windows that don't open (when we first arrived, we had to move from a room with a broken window).

The plumbing system doesn't work. The water takes a long time to drain away, and it doesn't look clean.

More generally, the hotel is dirty and in need of repairs. Our mattress had a big stain on it, and the bathroom mirror was cracked. The fridge didn't work and was very smelly.

Although the beds are fine, the pillows are terrible. We had to ask for more pillows, but even with extra pillows they were very thin, lumpy and uncomfortable.

The staff are friendly but unable to resolve most issues. All in all, we had two terrible nights' sleep and would recommend avoiding this hotel if you can.

If you are looking to stay in a prison during your time in Brussels this is the perfect hotel for you.
The surrounding area is not welcoming or a place you would feel safe. this combined with the terrible security of the hotel was not ideal.
Staff were not insightful on how to get around the city or of suggestions of things to do or see.
Our double bed was 2 singles pushed together so for a valentines day trip was less than ideal.

I am satisfy with this price.

The staff was friendly.
The location is okay, just a 15 min tram from Grand Place.
It is a very simple hotel, only providing towel and some hand soap, so remember to bring your own toothbrush / body wash / shampoo / slipper. There is no floor heating but it is quite warm in the bed.

Was here in Autumn so it was cooler outside so the lack of air con wasn't an issue for us. The hotel is very nice and I think the idea of using it as somewhere for people to be trained. The staff were helpful and nice during our stay. I didn't mind hotel the room was designed although i can see why some might be put off by it. id happily stay here again.

There was no check-in time given, so we showed up the hotel around 15: 00 which is a usual time to check in for most hotels. It seemed as though the staff would wait until someone tried to check in to have the rooms cleaned, this is very unprofessional. There were multiple other people waiting in the lobby with us as well. After an hour of waiting we were finally given a room, we went upstairs and it was not what we were expected at all. The room looked like a prison cell and there was very loud construction happening next to the building for hours. After about twenty minutes of getting to the room, one of the people who was waiting in the lobby before us was given the same room as us. This was a very frightening experience. We all went down to complain to the front desk and they apologized but offered no compensation for the entire situation. The sheets and towels were not replaced when the rooms would be cleaned, the beds were simply just made and the towels were hung. The trash was also never taken out. The reviews on the hotel are not amazing but the service should have been better, especially for the price. The area is also not nice at all, we were two women staying alone and felt very unsafe on our walk into the city center. Our experience was less than satisfactory and ruined our time in Brussels. Needless to say, we will not be returning nor recommending this hotel to anyone

Excellent priced hotel. Very modern architecture and very minimalist style rooms, which are comfortable and functional. Little bit of wear and tear but nothing major.

No idea what other guests are saying about noise. Never heard another guest in an adjacent room and the noise outside from traffic or people was less than what you’d get in London or Paris.

Would not recommend because it is cold!!

The room I was given was very cold and no option to warm it up as it is a passive building you can't turn on the heating as you wish which means it remains cold... I won't stay there again in the future because of this as well as very noisy people slashing doors at 5am and loud traffic/sirens of ambulance and police more often than you would wish for in an ideal world.. I was on first floor, with the view of the front door of the hotel which is inhabited by homeless people, plus the door did not open.. which I found very annoying... very hard to open and had to ask for help each time..... tv, size of the room and comfy bed were the only plus

Lovely Passive Hotel

Lovely hotel - great rooms, clean bathrooms and very friendly people at reception. It's great to know that it's a passive hotel but unfortunately, when the weather is especially hot, the rooms did get quite hot too. There were also elevators which is always great after a long walk around the city centre and a (surprisingly short) walk back to the hotel.

Concrete hotel worth the price

This hotel has the basics and served our needs (WiFi mini fridge bed and bathroom). Staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom smelled a little strange when we first walked in - like it doesn’t get aired out after showers very often, not a deal breaker.
Breakfast not included, but available for an additional 9€.
About a 5 min walk from the the nearest tram stop and a 5 min walk to the grocery store.

This hotel is a very good option, well located, a bit rustic if you are used to stay in traditional hotels but interesting by its simplicity. The bathroom had a pretty strong smell. There neighborhood is residential so it is quite calm, however it means that there is limited access to food and markets. I would stay there again.

Lovely hotel. Good facilities. Staff were helpful and always courteous, even with my late arrival time to check in. The neighbourhood is a little strange, it’s a vibrant eclectic mix shall we say. But still safe enough to go out exploring. Just across the canal and down the street was Rue Antoine Dansaert which has some great coffee/tea houses, nice restaurants, great shopping and a brewery open to the public too. Great location to go exploring into the city centre. Just a ten minute walk along Rue Dansaert was the St Catherine area/district and then a few minutes longer takes you into the centre of Brussels with all of its museums, shops, cathedrals and churches. Some beautiful sights to see. I would recommend the hotel Belvue to anyone wanting lovely comfortable rooms with good amenities, in a fantastic location minutes from city centre attractions without the hassle of a hustle bustle city centre hotel.

Room was cold. Lights in hallway didn’t work- were walking in the dark with phone flashlights to get to room. When we mentioned this to staff, they didn’t seem to care.
We had a car. When we asked for parking area, they mentioned that the hotel was in a ‘dangerous part of town’ and suggested we find underground parking.
In the elevator on the way to checkout the fire alarm started to sound and none of the staff seemed to notice.

Nice rooms and a good value. It’s an up and coming area, not at all suggesting it’s a bad area, just a little vacant in terms of finding a coffee spot in the morning or having restaurant choices at night. Very close to metro. A new hotel so everything is in good condition. I was there on a work trip and we have a limited budget so it was a good find for the price.

quiet and comfortable hotel, but...

note that there are no real grocery or for that matter any useful retail near the hotel. you will need to travel across the canal and back into the central city. this is not too bad as a metro stration is near. but note, that currently the tram junction opposite the hotel on the other side of the canal is under major reconstruction and is basically not accessible or crossible on foot. this further increases the isolation of the hotel.

Doubtful and concerning stay

First of all, once we were checked in, our room was not even ready at all, so they moved us to a different floor having to go all the way to the reception and get a second key. Very long distance since you need to change buildings.

Aside from the lack of air conditioning, staff never offered a key to open windows. So, one night I had to go to the reception after midnight and ask for a key to open the windows. Stuffy and hot.

We also found insects and other kind of bugs around the mattress. Apparently the cleaning crew has not let management know that they have a plague control issue.

Check in, guy gave us wrong key then another guess came into our room about an hr later. Maid came and when we asked her to wait she dropped towels outside of our door. Local area is not close to anything, like the bad side of ny. And I'm pretty sure they hijacked my credit card and sold the info although I can't confirm that.

*New* budget hotel - do no expect much

The hotel is modern and everything is new (except the concrete flooring). The room design was \"exceptional\" - it was a quadrilateral. There is no door to the shower/WC area. We are the couple that do no need any sort of privacy, so it works for us. However, it might not be for everyone. On top of that, after doing your morning business, the room window needs to be opened for ventilation or you might choke on other person's fumes. The biggest of all troubles was the inadequate sound proofing in the building structure. We can easily hear our neighbors talking, \"etc\". The surrounding area is very noisy and you WILL be bothered by the vehicle noise at night, especially if you get a room facing the road on the first floor. Our request to get a different room wasn't entertained. This review may sound negative, but I have seen worse. This hotel is really good for budget travel.

A very strange place

Bare concrete floors and posts, a relatively clueless staff, and a \"lockdown\" atmosphere in an ethnic part of town make this a very strange place.

The good: The room was clean and quiet, even though it only had a small piece of carpet on a bare concrete floor.

The not-so-good: The stated goal of this hotel is to be cheap and use clueless people for staff. Basically, everyone is a trainee according to their mission statement. We weren't asked to pay when we checked in, and the staff member at the sparse desk at checkout insisted that our receipt would be emailed to us. Luckily, a different staff member was just coming in, so we asked again if we owed anything. He was very surprised that they didn't collect when we checked in. He had to go find paper to print our receipt after we paid....

The ethnic neighborhood didn't bother us as much as the fact that the front door is locked, the door from the lobby to go outside toward the rooms is locked, the door to go into the building with the rooms is locked, and the room door is locked. When you come in with your luggage, that means you have to stop and swipe your key four times, not to mention one more stop at the tiny elevator. At least we felt safe once inside the inner compound.

\"Belvue\" must mean \"go ahead and stay here, but don't expect rational service\" in Belgian. I do not plan to stay here again.

really good for the price

the hotel was not bad. it was like being on a building site but with a comfy bed.
the shower floods the bathroom heaps. location was not to bad. it was about 30 mins walk from city center with cafes on the way. you only get 2 bottles of water on arrival. it does not get re stocked, which i didnt like. but honestly for the price its good. id stay there again

Enjoyable stay with cool design.

Very attentive, friendly staff. Clean room. Very modern interior (lots of concrete--sound weird but it was really cozy). Near the Tram 82 stop to Gare du Midi. Good value!

I liked everything from easy access to transport and closeness to the city centre except the part where there was no door for the toilet which I wasn't very keen on

Ok place to stay. At least 20 minutes walking from Grand Place. Not very cosy neighbourhood. A little bit noisy from traffic. I really missed carpets on the floor. The grey concrete floor seemed cold and like a cellar floor. There could also have been more lamps/lights. The breakfast was cheap, but only plain croissants and coffee. That's all.
