I was honestly very disappointed in my stay. I booked the trip day of check-in because my first accommodations did not work out, and the hotel looked beautiful in the photos. Unfortunately, the entire lobby was under construction, which was not mentioned while I was booking. We had to use the side entrance as well as occasionally the questionable metal stairs to get from our room to the lobby. There was also construction noise happening in the morning and throughout the day, which is understandable, but notice of this would have been appreciated beforehand.

The first room that we were put in had a bathroom that smelled rancid, so we asked to be put into another room, but we lost our ideal city view because of this.

Lastly, the room came with a guide in which you could request additional kits if needed, but when I called for one of the kits, I was informed that they actually did not have any of them. Whether they were actually out of the kits or if the staff did not want to bring us one, I am not sure.

An upside to this hotel would be that the room we were put into was spacious and clean for the most part, the bathtub had dirt stains in it, and good lighting. The location is also amazing as it is only a 10-minute walk from many of the must-see spots in Brussels.

Overall, I understand that this may be an ideal time of year for the hotel and city to do their repairs when tourism is low, but it would have been nice to be informed of this before booking.

This place was horrible! Not sure how they received 4 stars!

The bathroom would flood from the shower and we could not bathe because there was no way to easily get the stopper beck out since the chain had been broken off of it (it fits flush to the tub).

No iron for clothes. Cannot adjust the temperature in the room so it was too hot and we could not sleep well. Smells like mildew. Coffee machine was not clean - stale water sitting in there.

My overall stay was good,starting with the lovely receptionist who checked us in. I booked for 2 adults and a toddler, so I was expecting a room with a double and a single but instead we got a double bed room. We were given a crib the next day.

Also, please have room service to do a thorough cleanup because we found a forgotten trouser in the room.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Will definitely recommend Augusta

I had no idea this property was in a bad and dirty neighborhood.,If I had known, I wouldn’t have chosen it.,However, the staff, in particular, “Semie”? Who is from Rwanda, made up for it! He was very helpful, told us what to watch out for outside, and had a good sense of humor.,We chatted with him about Rwanda a lot because my girlfriend has a relative who just visited there. Also, the dark haired young man at desk Monday morning, was very good! Breakfast was good! So the only negative thing is the neighborhood.

The room was very spacious and just like the pictures on the listing. The air conditioning worked really well. The shower/bathroom was very nicely done. There was a large counter to hold personal belongings. The in-room storage was perfect for our family. The room was very up to date and the beds were the best! I have never slept so well in my life! The coin laundry mat was easily accessible from the hotel -about 1/2 a block away and the staff at the hotel even made change for us. The staff were so nice and informative of local places to eat and things to do. It was an amazing place to stay and I would stay there again!

Parking is limited in area and overnight parking is a bit of a walk away. Room has a safe. Restaurant / bar in hotel.
Only complaint is the area is under a lot of construction so access is a bit difficult and Google Maps gets confused.

The hotel is very nice with comfortable, clean rooms. I liked that the location is a little beyond the tourist area with local restaurants but an easy walk to all the sites. The front desk staff could be more present, and the construction around the area is a mess, but otherwise all good!

We had to get out of bed and move rooms at 1.30am because the air conditioning could not be switched off and it was too noisy. The next room we were placed was considerably small and bathroom was tiny. It was so hot but we couldn’t switch the air conditioning on because of the noise. You can hear everything in the corridors, people knocking doors and doors banging. We only got an apology, as it was the most normal thing happening in that hotel. €125 per night in a hotel you cannot even have a rest.
Fridges in both rooms were not working.
Towels are so worn.
2 pillows per person and both are so bulky so no choice if you prefer a flatter pillow.

The best part about this property was its outstanding staff members. They went above and beyond with what little staff they had off for the holidays and made sure we were taken care of.

The 4 star ratings that have been given to this property, however, needs to be revisited and reconsidered. The room I was given with my husband had a broken refrigerator, broken bedside lamp, broken bathroom heater, and stained furniture and curtains. Breakfast was also very limited, we paid €15 per person but I had to boil my own eggs and the food tray was never refilled with scrambled eggs- that was disappointing.

Overall, the Augustin is not what is advertised as a 4 stars hotel- proceed when booking with caution.

However, not convinced of the 4-star label. Seemed a bit run down, dated Furniture all through (not necessarily vintage), despite what appeared to be attempts at maintenance of common areas and room, still seemed very sub-par for a 4 star hotel in the heart of Brussels.
Shower gel had been watered down-quite hilarious.
The establishment holds a lot of promise and there is definitely room for improvement.
Regardless, the staff were excellent-5 stars for them.

Everything went well I didn’t have any problem with the hotel. Breakfast service was good too.
The only problem I had was about the iron. We requested an iron and was told it will be delivered when we are out venturing. When we came back at night and it wasn’t there.

Very nice people as is the pleasant custom in Brussels. Staff able and willing to deal in many languages. Front desk available at all hours. If you like to walk, the hotel is centrally located, a reasonable walk from the Midi station and from many restaurants and landmarks. I would stay here again.

The hotel is situated fifteen minutes' walk from Midi-Zuid rail and metro station, and ten minutes' walk in the other direction to the Grand Place. The staff were helpful and the rooms well-kept, with comfortable beds. There is currently a huge Metro extension project going on along the main street which therefore feels very much like a construction zone but didn't in any way inconvenience our stay.

Place is definitely better in pictures than in person. Everyone was friendly, breakfast amazing, but the rooms are old, old carpet and we had no AC. The fan was soo dusty that I was afraid of our allergies getting worse, so I didn’t turned on. Location was pretty good. I was not expecting this for a 4 stars hotels, it’s a 3 starts for sure in USA (except for the breakfast!)

A good location as it was only a 12 minute walk from the Eurostar Brussels Midi station and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful Grand Place in the heart of the city. Our room was very spacious and although we had a couple of glitches ( 1 of the lifts out of order etc.) and we would have liked a bigger selection at breakfast the staff were friendly. I must also thank the General Manager M. Rivas who went out of his way to make our stay an enjoyable one.

This was my 3rd stay at The Augustin, staff always friendly and polite.
The only issues we had this time was the fridge was not working and the shower hose leaked and would wet the bathroom a considerable amount. Was reported to reception who arranged for maintenence to sort it out.

Breakfast buffet is between 7am-10am at €15 per adult.children under 12 free. I would advise not going late as the don't restock the hot food near closing time. Overall breakfast was good.

Location of the hotel is really good about 10-minute walk from Eurostar and 10-15 to the centre depending how far you want to go.

If I come back to Brussels I would definitely stay again.

The rooms were nice and big. Very clean. We were on the 3rd floor and the AC went out the day before we arrived . It was very hot and miserable our entire 3 days we were there. They did provide a fan but it didn’t help. The grand palace is not a 5 min walk it is about a 15 min walk.

Hotel was decent at best. Staff was also on the rude and not accommodating. Hotel needed renovations (old elevator and stairs).
There was also no AC in the room.
We booked the hotel for its easy access to the train station but there was construction everywhere and the 10 minute walk turned into a 30 minute one. The hotel told us that if we knew where to go it would have only been ten minutes (obviously no?).

The Augustin is a good place to stay if you’re on a budget. It’s about a 12 minute walk to major attractions and 12 minutes from the Brussels midi station. So it’s easy to get around on foot and it’s very easy to find good places to eat/things to do. There are also a lot of e-bikes & scooters around as well. My only complaints about the hotel would be the level of noise. I woke up multiple times a night due to disruptions from the street and other guests in the hotel. There were also no curtains in the room so the room was very bright very early each day. The people at the front desk were not also the kindest either. The hotel overall is rundown and could do with some updates.

Not only did I enjoy my stay here, but also already booked another visit to the hotel. It’s seated perfectly between the Brussels MIDI train station and shopping and local attractions (all easily walkable). Also, I found the staff to be exceedingly helpful. During check-in I was handed a local map where they were happy to circle attractions and chart a walking path for me. The room was clean and comfortable, spacious, and had several easy-to-access outlets.

The hotel is conveniently located between one of the main train stations in Brussels and the pedestrian zone. I appreciate the fact that there is an inside and outside dining area.

My disappointment relates to the fact that the fridge in my room did not work (but a staff member provided me with ice in a bucket), and the fact that there was no record of breakfast being included in my package. That is despite the fact that I had a written confirmation from Orbitz stating that it was included. I do not know if it is Orbitz or the hotel that is at fault.
