Great hotel for business or pleasure if you require a location near Westminster, Buckingham Palace, the Tate Modern and others. Not an inexpensive place, but the location is perfect for many. And it's worth it.

Sus desayunos bufets son de lomas variado y deliciosos. Cerca caminando de lo mejor de Londres. Super recomendable. El único inconveniente q nadie habla español y su página dice q hablan español.

The breakfast selection is super. Well done!
The parking facilities are on site - which is great for central London.
However the hotel is impersonal, very busy and quite a stressful experience. I didn't like the dark decor on the floors - feels quite ominous!

We were on the 5th floor in a Deluxe Queen room. The room was disappointing cramped and a very strange layout; with the hand basin in the lobby of the room. The shower and separate WC are really cramped and the dark walls and floor add to the claustrophobic feeling. Also not clean - mould on ceiling and dusty crevices in wardrobe area. Not a room you can relax in at all.

We stayed one night and it was sufficent for our purpose.

Excellent location. Good attentive staff. Great breakfast. But the room design is wanting. Black separate shower and toilet are dark. Water is coming out of the shower and the floor is moldy and swallen. So, the washroom door jams. Overall design is somewhat pretentious but with unnecessaryly reduced space and functionality. Would have been better with more conventional simpler approach. Overall recommended though.

The staff were friendly and kind, the room was clean. However, for me personally, the room didn’t match the price point. I stayed in the presidential room and it was very underwhelming. Buildings mostly blocked the view of the river which was the main attraction for me booking this room. Overall, it was nice but expensive for what it is.

Hate to give this review - I booked a room for the view and received the attached instead. I was informed I can’t get a different view as the full view side was taken - yet you could still book any kinds of rooms online so not sure how booked out they truly were. I’ve yet to find a staff manager as indifferent as the one I encountered, where upon disregarding my request, there was no intent to show good will as I hadn’t sufficiently informed them in advance. For reference, I rebooked this special day to another hotel instead as this one felt more like a mid-level stay than an experiential hotel. In a similar venue a few minutes away, from a last minute request, the other staff were indeed able to provide me with a wonderful experience.

This is a 4 star hotel, with pretty much no amenities to show for it. No spa, pool, or anything really but a poorly maintained gym. So I also understand that there wasn’t much they could’ve done to make up for the faux pas. If you just need somewhere to sleep, this is fine, but if you want a pleasant experience, I would not recommend.

We just got back from a two week stay at Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster. This hotel was wonderful! We had a few issues with the first room they put us in, but he staff was very helpful and accommodating and moved us into a different room quickly, and that room was wonderful. It was clean and fairly large by central London standards. The location of the hotel was perfect. At first, we were worried that we weren't super close to a tube station (we were a 10 min walk from Pimlico tube station, but other hotels are closer to tube stations), but that turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because the second week of our trip was hit with tube strikes, but that didn't bother us too much because we were relying on buses and the Uber boat river bus service anyway. There are several very helpful bus lines within a 5 minute walk of the hotel because it's next door to the Tate Britain Museum, and these bus lines pass through all of the major tourist attractions of central London like the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, and Piccadilly Circus. The hotel is close to the river, which is great for taking the Uber boat to Greenwich or the Tower of London. The neighbourhood around the hotel was quiet and safe. Breakfast was included, and it was amazing! It had so many hot food options, and lots of bonuses like a Nutella dispenser for pancakes. Breakfast was so delicious! Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay in central London.

Vijay the bellman was VERY helpful. Great location for many of the London sites. Hotel is near the Thames and about a 20 minute walk from Buckingham Palace.
The place could not be cleaner. Great buffet breakfast. The only disappointment was the lack of lighting in the room.
We would stay there again!

A lovely clean hotel, room were very nice. Friendly staff, one of the porters that we saw a few times called Vijay went over & beyond to help & was so friendly. The breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel and we've stayed all over the world.
The only one thing I would say been a celiac is the gluten free bread is not great, you can get better and I've had better at a hotel but they did have an option that I saw on the second morning a gluten free roll, which I wasn't offered the first morning. So you do need to ask.
We would definitely stay there again and do like Riu hotels.
The hotel is close to the Thames river and you can walk everywhere if you are able. It's a great location for sightseeing.

Beautiful room. We got a corner suite and it was clean, the staff were helpful and proactive. Whenever we had a question, someone was there to offer help or provide an answer. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. It’s located in a great area, walkable to so many of the landmarks we wanted to see and experience. Anything further away, you’re also close to public transit. We will definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel with friendly staff in a decent location for walking to surrounding tourist attractions. The breakfast buffet was also very good. The downsides were that our room was initially made up with dirty bedsheets, which the staff changed upon request, and the fact that the hotel room was essentially a studio unit. The bathroom is the entrance way and the shower and toilet had stall doors which did not fully separate those areas from the main room. I would not recommend this type of room for more than one person.

This is really a hotel for solo travelers. The rooms are so small you have zero room for more than 1 small suitcase that fits in the closet. Our cruise
cabin was larger than the hotel room.Restaurant only serves breakfast. No bar etc. Starbucks on premise. Area is good.

We enjoyed our 2 nights at The Riu Westminster. Super modern & quiet. Quiet neighbourhood with a short 15 minute walk to Westminster Abbey & Churchill War rooms. Breakfast had a lot of options.
Only negative was the layout - you’re immediately in the washroom area when you enter the room. The shower room & the toilet room were too dark and kind of lacked privacy.

The room is just adequate for London standards. Very clean and well maintained property. Well priced for central London. It’s well connected with transit services a block away. We mostly got around walking everywhere. It’s definitely 15 to 20 mins of walking to the main areas of attractions and good restaurants. Breakfast was good with both hot and cold options. It was nice coming back to a clean room each day. Overall it was a good experience for our first trip to London.

Someone came into my bedroom in the middle of the night. They knocked twice and immediately entered at around 6am. Then again at 10am someone knocked twice, didn't wait and then entered my room as I was getting changed. I sat up for hours terrified and i'd recently been reading about the woman who was sexually assaulted by a hotel staff member at a TravelLodge and it was just so scary. I was sitting there at 6.30am thinking about my arrival to the hotel and how the receptionist had announced my room number loudly. I remember thinking it was odd and I was super paranoid. The next morning I spoke to reception who didn't seem too phased. I wrote a complaint and RIU have replied with a half apology and offered me 500 RIU points. They also said they checked CCTV and my account was accurate but then didn't explain why their staff were trying to enter my room in the early hours of the morning. I paid over £150 for a room, I slept a few hours and I was scared for my safety. Thanks RIU.

4 night stay was excellent. Overall the staff was super friendly and helpful and breakfast staff was hardworking and efficient. Breakfast choices were plentiful and really good and healthy. Loved the cappuccino machine and fresh pastries too. Hotel was quiet at night and bed was comfortable. Room felt a bit cramped and not enough bathroom hooks to hang wet towels. The only negative is the hotel’s location-although it felt safe and was nice and quiet- is a bit far from the nearest tube stop Pimilco and walking to Parliament area is approximately 14-15 minutes away. There are plenty of busstops nearby and we chose this option often, plus it was cheaper than the tube. If you want hustle and bustle then this hotel location is not it. I would recommend this hotel highly if you want clean, quiet, fantastic breakfast, super staff, and safe area and don’t mind walking.

This hotel gets a lot of mixed reviews, but honestly I think it was really good. I love the room concept-what a waste of space the traditional hallway is in a hotel room?? The small-ish bedroom is a real cosy boudoir and I had the best sleep-the slidy door from the bathroom to bedroom really made it quiet. Yes the corridors are dark, but it’s mean, moody and trendy. The service at front desk was exemplary but the reason for the dropped star is due to breakfast-limited selection and everything hot tasted very salty. All in all, a very good hotel, I’d stay again but have breakfast elsewhere en route.

We had stayed several
Times at Riu Madrid which is an excellent property which we always book even before booking our flights to Spain. However, we had not stayed in any other of their hotels. This time we chose the London property after hating our booked hotel and scrambling to find where to stay. The Riu London did not disappoint. We checked in within an hour of booking it in Expedia and when we got there we were welcomed with open arms. The hotel is spacious with all the amenities you could want, even a Gym and like the one in Madrid, the included breakfast is marvelous. Thanks Riu for saving our vacation. From now on I will search for Riu Hotels wherever I vacation before even entertaining the idea of staying somewhere else.

Staff and property excellent but totally disappointed with the breakfast and coffee /light snack shop available.
Breakfast on offer was hot food or continental.
The hot food available was stone cold, cold plates with cold food. If you decided to have toast, good luck there as the bread had to go through a conveyor toaster 3 times before it registered any colour as ‘toasted’. Then once through one had to search the restaurant for the butter. Milk not by the hot drinks machine tracking again to search its location. Very disappointing!

The location is close enough within walking distance to key areas but in a quieter area. The hotel rooms are small, but have everything you need. The breakfast is good if you get it included with your hotel price if not, it is very expensive. The Hotel staff strive to be very helpful but a late check-in was less than ideal with a newer staff member struggling to check us in.

The bed and linens were clean but overall the room didn't feel clean, the power went out (understandably not their fault but still sucked) and we had to pack up to checkout in the dark. Overall the room did not feel worth 400$ a night and we would try somewhere else next time.
