This looks a grand hotel, the arrival departure whilst busy was fine, staff throughout are very friendly and polite. Breakfast was plentiful, restaurants fine one night I dined in. Service is great, loved spa treatments so much, would love to give it 5 stars for the staff and service but it’s still seemingly going through an upgrade. It just feels a bit dated in parts, marks and lumps missing on walls, old decor etc.

The Taj is my go-to London Hitel reco. No one is ever disappointed. Maybe I should keep it a secret? Haha! Excellent staff and facility, perfect home base for anything in London, great concierge recs, great hotel food. Really can’t go wrong. Be back soon!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at St James and it just gets better everytime.

The rooms are wonderful and the facilities superb. The location is 2nd too non and the food fantastic. We had the Midsummer Night's dream Afternoon tea which was delicious and a great experience.

However, the highlight are the staff! We have been made to feel very special everytime we have been there and this time was next level.

Prativa made the check in a very special experience and couldnt have been more helpful, the concierges Jean and William were amazing and really helped us out and it was fantastic to meet Binayak, who was so helpful in helping us with our next stay and Amar and Krishnanaveni who looked after us in the bar!

The staff are amazing and are the main reason we go back! I have missed so many great people out!

Thank you all, especially Prativa and Binayak!

We are return visitors to the hotel, visiting back after exactly a year. The return experience was so-so. The room was small but nice, and definitely, we did not have water rushing down from the ceiling in the middle of the night as in the previous visit (and the maintenance guys from Africa -- based on their accent -- telling us that that is normal because of airconditioning). The breakfast has gone through a serious downgrade. The majestic Taj breakfast (one English and one Indian) is gone, replaced with something more watered down. The breakfast staff is hit or miss as before, the men tend to cluster and chat and only provide service when asked. The women staff tend to be more attentive. It is not possible to take the stairs to the exit. For us, it is a familiar hotel, and the service was tolerable, the amenities good, so perhaps we will still pick it when in London. (Though prices were really high this visit.)

I didn't like the bar code for dining in, half the time it didn't work.
The bathroom did not have an outlet. Doing your hair next to a sleeping person isn't optimal. The only outlet with a mirror is beside the bed.
The shower taps should have indicators showing how to use them.
I almost slipped out of the shower, the bathtub is too high to step over.

Breakfast was an actual buffet with delicious options of several breads, croissants, fruits, fresh juicea, sausages, bacon, eggs, and a menu filled with options at an additional cost (waffles, omelets, etc). Staff offered help with luggage immediately while checking in and out. Housekeeping also did an excellent job.

We had a lovely stay at St. James’ Court Taj. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a very accessible location, which made getting around London extremely convenient.

We truly appreciated how accommodating the team was with our kids’ food allergies and preferences. The staff helped curate menu options for them on demand, and we are really grateful for the effort and care shown throughout our stay.

The hotel is definitely on the pricier side, but overall the experience was pleasant.

One challenge we faced was during breakfast with kids. There were unusual restrictions around taking fruits, juice, or small breakfast items out of the breakfast area for children. Since getting the kids to sit and eat properly in the breakfast area was difficult, we almost ended up skipping breakfast and felt that part of the included breakfast value was wasted. Eventually, we chose to order everything to the room instead.

We also noticed many discrepancies in the billing where the exact same item was charged differently on another day, which did not feel ethical and was disappointing.

That said, overall we loved the property, the atmosphere, and especially the accessibility and hospitality.

A/C didn’t cool first night, but it was fixed quickly the next day. Room could use more cleaning of walls. Finger prints/hand marks throughout room. Room 433 we could hear elevator vibration when in use. Quite annoying at night.

This is a supposed luxury hotel that somehow is ordinary. The 55 euro breakfast served by excellent staff has coffee from a vending machine, food in steam tables, baguettes that were somewhat stale for 4 consecutive days and no berries (during strawberry season) among cut-up not ripe or over ripe fruit. We had an upgraded room with a shower handle on a pole. The location by Buckingham Palace is a problem for taxis if there are Palace events. Will not return.

We only stayed for one night as we were attending the Chelsea Flower Show…the staff on arrival were very helpful and kept our case safe whilst we attended the show, on our return this had been placed in our room.
Room was very nice, clean and with a lovely bathroom, there was a kettle with teabags, coffee etc, just one packet of biscuits.
There was some renovation work still going on which impacted on the use of the terrace which was a real shame as the courtyard was a lovely space, very pretty at night.
We did eat in the restaurant, the food was good, not anything special, but hot and fresh and the waiter was very polite.
Breakfast was busy we did have to wait for a table but not very long, there was a great selection, hot and cold foods and plenty to choose from.
Overall I would 100% return for a visit and highly recommend, thank you to all the staff for their service.

Only thing was it was closer to buckingham palace and train station was about 5-7 minutes walk besides that I did not find anything special about this place. Yes they had spread of breakfast but it was ok. If they could not bring coffee to the table , it is not worth it to me. Serving Indian breakfast but only have instant machine tea makes no sense and I had to get it myself, not worth it. Everyday they had couple Indian dish but nothing to brag about. Rooms were small and generic. Not worth spending extra money when you are going there just to sleep. One of our rooms did not drain well and even after informing them , problem was not fixed. Overall just Ok stay. Yes we stayed at Taj but nothing else.

The only issue was the connectivity with the television. There were pauses with the live feeds and the speed was slow. Otherwise a great stay in the middle of Westminster!!

This was my first time in London and I truly felt like royalty at the St James. Check in was smooth! Breakfast was top tier. The staff was exceptionally courteous & kind. Great location to most of the city’s major attractions. We walked everywhere, food was everywhere! The hotel had great amenities. There was a spa and tea in a garden and more. I was very happy with everything. I highly recommend. I will definitely return in the future.

Taj was doing construction and didn’t notify us until a week before our booking, leaving us with little option. The entire lobby was in construction. Dust everywhere near by. We couldn’t have friends meet us there and it wasn’t the experience we paid for. The managers evaded us the whole time regardless of numerous attempts to contact them. Not the level of service you’d expect from The Taj. I will say they eventually, after a lot of pursuit, gave us 10% off. Not worth the hassle.

However, the staff was very nice and empathetic. Management was disappointing to say the least. I would not recommend this hotel bc you don’t know what you’ll get and they are not accommodating.

The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to Buckingham Palace. There’s some nice shops nearby. Formative coffee makes a great flat white. The rooms were in very good condition, the staff was incredibly attentive and my room was very quiet. I could not hear anything from neighboring rooms and the hotel is away from traffic. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

No Welcome Drinks, Requested special arrangements for our Anniversary but an Egg pastry was sent without asking for our food restrictions.

When requested some plates, they even charged us for in room cutlery.
However, front staff was very helpful but management is poor.

As soon as you arrive the staff can not do any more for you! They are so friendly, professional and polite.
Our room was ready on arrival (1.30pm)
We checked in and was shown to our room.
We upgraded to a courtyard suite which was so amazing!
Clean, bright and spacious for the 3 of us. (1 Child)
We walked in and found a cake which was a very nice touch.
We will return and this is our favorite hotel in london.

Everything was immaculate, you truly get what you pay for. The location is pristine, and the customer service was first class. Concierge were on hand from beginning to end. The breakfast was seamless, clean and fresh. No complaints only compliments, I haven’t been to a hotel in 12 years this was delightful.
