We were there for just one night so did not manage to try the food, but bed was very comfortable.
The mattress was comfortably firm.

We had such a pleasant stay at The Guardsman Hotel! The front desk lady was awesome. She helped carry our luggage up and even gave us a quick room tour. The maintenance guy was super quick and polite when helping us with the safety box. And the gentleman working in the restaurant was absolutely amazing. So friendly and kind, he really made our experience special.

The location is unbeatable. You are just steps away from all the top tourist spots, restaurants, and shops. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to my friends when they visit London. Huge thanks to the whole team!

Very disappointed that there was no bottled still water available - when we asked for still water we were asked to order on uber eats. They were not even able to provide a jug of fresh water. Appreciate their delivery had failed but as a 5 star hotel I would have expected contingencies to be in place. In fairness they did find us a bottle of sparkling wine externally so we appreciated that.

My stay here was great! The only reason for not giving an excellent rating is the tiny size of the rooms. Luckily I was traveling solo, because my room was not big enough for two people. There simply isn't enough storage space or square footage- and thats coming from someone who's lived in NYC. The staff was friendly. The property is luxurious and well kept. Excellent location for scenic walks to landmarks and shopping.

Splendid hotel with great location

The hotel’s location is terrific, very near major attractions and close to many restaurants and pubs. A subway station is just around the corner, too.

The service was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. And the bar downstairs is really a cool place for a drink.

The rooms are small- as is the case with most London hotels. But my room was well designed and appointed. Plenty of feature comforts like heated floors in the bathroom. I’d stay there again, but upgrade to a larger room.

Property is located in central London. Close to Victoria station - 15 min walk and close to lots of significant historical buildings and places.

Arrived - staff were very welcoming. Had contacted hotel in advance and asked to be allocated a quiet room which they had done at back of building.

Hotel / room / bed were nice. Lovely welcome note from team which was nice.

Stayed for a work event so didn’t utilise bar or dining.

Good shower.

This overall is a good hotel. It’s safe and well located and great staff. I was however underwhelmed with it and the room based on cost and star ratings - carpet was stained and bathroom was small. But these are minor things.

Bed / bathroom clean.

Checkout was good.

I think I would try somewhere else next time. But if you have to be in the Victoria area then it’s a good shout.

NOT 5 star Hotel, clearly lacks maintenance

The hotel is rated as a 5 star, charging 5 star prices. With that I expect 5 star accommodations. While the room was clean, bed comfortable, the bathroom kept having a musty mildew odor, as I then discovered the shower was not properly being maintained and there was mildew everywhere. Definitely NOT 5 stars. Reported smell to hotel housekeeping, smell was removed but the mildew remained. Upon checkout was provided a 1 night 50% discount which is definitely not compensation for the amount paid. 5 stars is deceptive.

We were put into a room on the first floor which was above the entrance of the property and right next to the road. It was noisy even with ear plugs, a banging sound could be heard (probably the front doors below every time they were used throughout the night).

Staff friendly and location convenient but wouldn’t stay again due to noise.

Disappointingly tiny room

Strange check-in; instead of signing the papers and getting a key, I was asked to sit in the lobby; after a couple of minutes, they came with the paperwork; then after a couple more minutes, they came with the room key and brought me up there. Having had a long journey I would have preferred the traditional system which would have got me into my room faster. The main problem was that the room was the size of a prison cell in Alcatraz. I needed to iron a shirt and there was barely room to open the ironing board and stand beside it. I had to move some of their stuff from both the bathroom and the 'desk' just to have room for my own things without everything constantly falling on the floor. I even had to move the wastebasket. Their 'desk' was a kind of a shelf, and the chair was not the right height for it. The window was frosted, perhaps because it was about 3 feet from the building next door; you had to crane your neck to see a bit of sky and know whether the sun was out. The room was oddly-shaped too; like a triangle. On the positive side, the shower was nice (although the door did not close properly leading to water all over the floor). If you're happy with a tiny room, you can get one for half the price in this area.

We stayed here at the end of our trip and wished we had gotten to stay here longer. Place was beautiful, staff super nice and breakfast was outstanding. We had a little hiccup with our TV and the guy helping us was very professional. He had to come back 3 times but fixed the problem and then the hotel made it right by comping our breakfast. Made us feel like they really were apologetic towards our mishap. Would definitely stay here again when back in town. Everything was great.

Our stay was good, overall. We didn’t have any concern - bed and pillows were comfortable, room is small but I’m sure that’s the case for most hotels in that area, love the heated bathroom floor, staff were nice and we were greeted with coffee/tea when we arrived. The room was slightly smaller than expected and dark without lights on and curtains open, but to be honest we were hardly there - just to sleep. Loved that the complimentary milk for the tea and coffee, was in a glass bottle in the mini bar fridge. Much better that the UHT milk you get in the little pods! Perfectly located - very near to St James's Park tube and not too far from Victoria Station. And every where we wanted to go to was within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff. A real let down sadly!

Overall a disappointing stay. We booked this hotel on the basis it was very well reviewed and it didn’t live up to our expectations.

Communication was good in advance of our stay. Having informed them of our arrival in advance our room wasn’t available to check in to. We were offered a welcome drink during the wait but only after asking how long our room would take to be ready. The room itself was good but let down by the drain smell in our room which required us to keep the bathroom door shut. The TV also didn’t work on a number of channels.

The location is very good for access to the Park and Victoria train station.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in London and sadly this didn’t live up to the hype!

The original room booked was quite small for the price paid, however I did upgrade to the largest room option, which was large enough, and the hotel did reduce the normal upgrade fee because I was a VIP guest.
The hotel itself was really nice, clean and nicely decorated, the facilities were very good, and the staff were very helpful and professional.

We arrived and were asked to take a seat and then they brought paperwork and a card machine to take a deposit, we were then left uninformed as to next steps and waited for 40 mins before being shown to the room. Fabulous hotel that is clean, quiet, and has excellent attentive service in a great central location! Easy walk to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Parliament. Many good dining options within one block. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to London!

Gem of a hotel with excellent customer service

Very new and swanky hotel a few minutes walk to Buckingham Palace, the Eye, Westminster Abbey etc. Great location. The room was richly appointed but small size wise with no view. Our room was not quite ready at check-in which was disappointing. We then had an issue with the door handle breaking off but the staff were good about fixing it right away and even gave us a fruit basket apology with a handwritten note. The complimentary water bottles, milk, coffee and tea were a nice touch.

What a gem!!!

Great location and great hotel!

The Guardsman was a fantastic place to stay during our family's 5 night stay in London. Just down the street from Buckingham Palace, the location was perfect for walking to the main sights and also for getting on the tube or the bus to get to other parts of the city. The hotel staff was very helpful when we needed to call a taxi and when my father in law requested an extra bed sheet. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very nice as well. Thank you!

This was a great find in Westminster. I had no trouble getting around London by Uber, foot or catching the tube from this location.

I will agree with other travelers that the rooms were a bit small but I didn’t find it an inconvenience. The street is very busy as well and there were busses driving by all day. Thankfully at night it was very quiet.

The one issue I found, was the lack of ease in finding the hotel entrance. There was no grand sign on the building. I may be wrong, but I think there was just the door with small signage. So if you don’t know what you’re looking for you will walk right past it. Upon arriving you need to buzz in and then you’re greeted by the amazing staff. You’re offered a drink during check in and the porter takes you to your room and gives you a tour.
I found my sleeping arrangements to be very comfortable. There is a Nespresso machine in the room and they do give you one free bottle of still water and milk in the mini bar. I was thankful for the safe in the room. Unfortunately I did not explore the breakfast options in the morning and I don’t know why I didn’t try dinner.

Checking out was easy and I was given the option to store my luggage while I made my last errands around London. I was under the impression that they had an airport shuttle service that was offered but I was informed they would help acquiring a car service, cab or Uber. I ordered my Uber myself.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Guardsman and highly recommend it.

We had two days in London before traveling to South Hampton to meet a cruise. This was a great option. Room was on the small side (not so much so that it was a real problem, just not as comfy as a larger room would have been.) Service/cleanliness and location made up for it. We'd stay here again. A higher end hotel, walkable to restaurants, pubs...but not noisy.
