We stayed in the king size room. It was very clean and updated. The pool and hot tub and grounds were well maintained and the staff was very friendly. We were one street back from the beach but there was a public entrance convenient right across the street. The walk to our room was via outdoor balconies rather than indoor hallways so the balcony and even though we weren’t right off the beach we were actually able to see the ocean right outside our door. Good hotel for the price.

We checked in at 11:00 PM, and the receptionist kept us waiting with our two children just so they could handle the next guest’s check-in. The staff member was extremely grumpy and barely responded to our questions, speaking in a very dismissive manner.
While the beds were clean, the bathroom was filthy. When I pulled the sofa towards the bed to prevent our child from falling, I discovered dead insects underneath. To make matters worse, the breakfast was terrible and extremely insufficient.
On a positive note, the pool was nice and the location is very convenient to the beach. However, they charge a $15 daily fee for parking. When you add that cost, you could easily find a cleaner hotel closer to the beach. We managed to stay for two nights, but we will never return.

Our room was humid and the ac / fan couldn't control the humidity so the room was constantly moist. Bathtub didn't drain well, hair in the sink when we arrived and floor was dirty / sandy. We were locked out of our room 2x because the keycard wasn't working and had to get a working key card twice. We had to wait 5 minutes while the attendant was on their cell phone before coming from the office to help us. Breakfast was not hot and not many options. Paid plenty for the room and was added a 15.00 per day parking fee.

We were underwhelmed by our stay here, especially after such a great experience at the Best Western Beaufort were we had an exceptional experience with the lovely Kent
Last night we stayed in Best Western Seaside in St Augustine.
Upon arrival we were charged for parking.
Our room, although clean, was disappointing after the previous nights accommodation, as only one mirror & one dressing area …the fridge didn’t work, there was no internet access as it would not connect, plus bedside chargers would not work either!
This morning we had water dripping from room above leaving a puddle on floor & dripping on us as we were trying to pack up, which made us delayed for breakfast, getting there at just after 9 when hardly anything left, other drinks & cold eggs, even cutlery had run out
There was so little left that we had to go to buy some breakfast elsewhere later
Overall after such a great experience the night before, we were very disappointed

I had difficulty with several things while using this property. The room held two queen beds, with space for four people. However, the bathroom only had towels for three, and towel hanging hooks for two towels. There was plenty of free wall space to add towel bars for allow four people to dry their towels without hanging them on the same two hooks. Yet, they did not offer that and it was very inconvenient.

The beds were on platforms that made them so tall it was extremely difficult to get into bed with a running start. Few people have beds at this height at home - why do it here?

The cleaning lady open our room, did not provide clean towels or additional toilet paper, and then failed to close the door securely. The door was standing open during the afternoon and evening hours in a high traffic area near the pool and parking lot. I consider myself lucky to have not lost a computer, luggage, etc. While the front desk compensated us by eliminating our parking fees for the stay, I would have hoped they would have volunteered to discuss the situation with the staff at a minimum.

Typically I write reviews only in the event of extraordinary or poor conditions and events that we experienced during our stay at the property. Unfortunately for Best Western seaside this was a lackluster border line to poor stay. First let me say that the review rating for this hotel is 8.6, listed as excellent. I find this extremely difficult to believe BW seaside in St. Augustine Beach FL is rated near Embassy suites, Doubletree, Marriot suites.. Not even close in my book to that rating should this hotel be.

First, there is a $15 charge for parking per night while staying at the hotel. This is not LISTED anywhere except on the front desk sign. With NO exceptions on booking with 3rd party or direct. Expedia listed this as paid in fully with NO other charges paid to the hotel. But surprise!, they will charge you for parking. That is what I call a surprise charge and not listed anywhere. Also the charge is immediate at check-in for the total days stayed.

Next is the property is older then expected and age was showing through, ie.. paint, exterior rust, cracks in walkway and driveway, stairway tile cracks and gaps. Only 1 ice machine on and main floor was working.

Internet access was OK and speeds were workable (140MBPS) during the day and dropped at nighttime. This was during early in the week. As we get closer to Friday the speeds diminished considerably.

The electronic room lock stopped working a few times for no reason, and we neededs

My check in and check out was the only less desirable experience. When checking in, he was o. The phone and didn’t seem to care enough to make eye contact to acknowledge me just as a courteous customer service jesture. Once I was acknowledged, the only words he said was “ID and credit card” no please and no smile even. When checking out she reached out her hand to take my cards and when I was waiting to see what else I needed to do, she looked at me as if I should know there was nothing else I needed to do and said “That’s it”

This hotel location was worth the money; it was clean; the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel location is great and the complimentary reduced fees for the city's trolleys' tour were a good bargain. It was also amazing that guests can access the beach within walking distance. Breakfast was included and very good as well. I was not too happy about paying for parking; housekeeping provided fresh towels daily, but they did not make the beds. I never write reviews. Decided it was worth to share.
Manager was not accommodating.
The safety lock somehow opened when I closed my door and was locked out of the room for 4+ hours while we waiting for maintenance. Our day was wasted as our car keys and money were inside the locked room. The maintenance staff proceeded to try to kick in the door and needed to use tool to pry the lock off the wall through the little crack the door was open.
We had to fight for a single night refund!

Tried to go in the hot tub on a rainy day but the hot tub was luke warm. They claimed the hot tub was as “on” when I asked to turn heater on.
The day before the hot tub was hot to the touch.

The cleaning staff didn’t come once during our 4 day stay. We brought our garbage down to a garbage can and asked for clean towels at desk.

All in all. The hotel would be fine to sleep in and get to the beach. But when weather isn’t good or unfortunate events happen like getting locked out- this hotel was not concerned with a quick fix to better our stay. Or a refund for ruining an entire day. Or heating a hot tub on a cold rainy day. The manager was not very nice to costumers who were just trying to enjoy a short vacation and have never complained about a thing. This was just too many things to “let go”.

Super disappointed.

Save your money and pick another hotel. Room was extremely outdated, bathroom door did not close. The worst part of the stay however was the constant banging noise from what we assume was a pipe in the ceiling. I barely slept through the night because of it. My husband went to complain in the morning and got only the parking fee ($15) off. What a joke. Also the night auditor who checked us in announced my room number out loud while my husband was out in the parking lot and there were other individuals in the lobby. A big no no when checking in someone especially a woman.
