Room 226 is in serious need of renovation. The window in the bathroom has black mold on it and a screen that doesn’t fit and keeps falling out. The door to the bathroom is falling apart at the bottom and leaves sawdust all over the bathroom floor. The AC struggles to keep the room cool and is very loud.
The door deadbolt doesn’t work.
The pillows are rock hard.

Pro: convenient location to historical downtown.

Cons: platform that bed was sitting on was dirty, hairs all over, gross!

Says it has a pool then they notify you one day before your trip, oops we no longer have a pool, they covered the pool to add more parking which they charge you $20 extra per night to park on top of hotel cost yet again don’t tell you until a day prior to your trip!

No smart tv, tv didn’t work, hotel staff said most tv’s in rooms don’t work!

We had the handicap room and it was okay as we were both mobile and upright with cane use for assistance.
However I frequently travel with a sister that uses a scooter/wheelchair and you should know some things.
1. The bed was way too high for someone to transfer to or from in a sitting position and for feet to be firmly on ground when sitting on side of bed.
2. The toilet was too low for a transfer to or from a scooter or wheelchair.
3. There was no cut out under sink for someone in wheel chair or scooter to reach the sink.
4. In the shower the soap/shampoo dispenser were behind bench, high and not reachable when sitting on bench in shower and the one shelf was very high behind the shower and not reachable when sitting on bench.
5. the shower was very difficult to turn on/off. Both of us had difficulty.
6. The towel storage cubicles were way too high for someone in a wheel chair or scooter to reach
7. The lights next to bed on wall were too high for someone in wheelchair or scooter to reach
8. The coffee machine was too high for someone to reach in a wheel chair or scooter. Even we moved it over next to sink for easier use.
I must say The staff was pleasant and helpful and the location is perfect for access to the downtown and trolly.

Every attraction is within walking distance, the trolley stop is right outside and a nice restaurant with live music right next door. The view of the bay from every room is breathtaking. The staff is so friendly and professional. I loved how Rhonda gave us guidance of where to go and what to do, she also was so nice to bring Champagne and glasses to our room as we were celebrating our honeymoon. Fabulous location and the motel was renovated but already showing wear. The beds were on a platform that should have been cleaner but slept well with the white noise from the air conditioner. No amenities but we knew that so fine. The only place in st. Augustine that is not next door to a coffee shop and didn’t have time before leaving for the short walk but that’s not their fault! Had a good time.

Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and did while the location was prime for walking around and exploring, the room we stayed in was less than stellar. First, there is no bathroom door. The toilet is less than 10 feet from where you sleep with no barrier in between.I definitely would not have booked here had I known that. Second, the walls are incredibly thin and we heard every single step and breath the people above us took. I specifically requested a 2nd floor room but unfortunately did not get it and we paid for it both nights. Another oddity was that housekeeping only put 2 full sized towels in the room and so we had to request more. Other annoying things were that our TV did not work upon arrival and while they did send someone to fix it promptly, the TV system continually displayed ads that took up half the screen and made it tough to actually watch anything. All in all, I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone I know.

Excellent, perfect, beautiful location, accessible to everything in walking distance, and yet serenity and a beautiful view. Every staff member I came in touch with was so lovely and polite and kind and treated you like a valued guest showing you how much they appreciated the business in hopes that you will return what a nice change from understaffed hotels like the Holiday Inn express, which is what I normally stay at or the Hilton and Hampton Inn. Those are all very pleasant, but this was so personal with Florida charm and completely updated contemporary rooms that were immaculate. The coastal River right across the street boats and marina was so charming.

No Fan in Bathroom

Causing the power to the hairdryer to short out and burning out the motor
Had to go get the hair dryer replacement at the desk and the staff was in the room when the dryer burnt out causing a LOUD POP
Staff was present due to No Instructions for television- staff said everyone was different in the hotel. Staff said that she probably had another hairdryer in the office and we could come and get it later. She did not inquire as to how the television was working nor if we had an OK working hairdryer.
Also, the phone charger did not work as the plug on the wall near the bedroom lights was faulty

I want to start by saying that this lodge is in a wonderful location and the staff is amazing! We arrived really early and asked if we could check in early to put our suit cases in our room, Ronda told us as soon as the room is cleaned we could check in, but we could leave our luggage in the back room if we wanted. She also let us know about the area, and recommended the trolley tour which stops right by the lodge. We went on the tour and it was great! When we got back our room was ready.

The room was nicely renovated and pretty, but that's where it ends. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything! It also seemed like our neighbors above us were practicing Irish step dancing, it was excessive and loud. The mattress was hard, the AC was very loud, the blackout curtains didn't block light around the edges, and we found 2 dead baby spiders in our bed. I slept terribly.
