We had the BEST time staying here! The property is absolutely adorable and full of history. Every room looked beautiful, but we chose to stay in “Splendid Time,” and it was perfect.

The location is amazing, and the hospitality truly couldn’t be beat. Every member of the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The breakfast was to die for—so fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared!

We loved every minute of our stay and would come back again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

I absolutely love the customer service. They really take pride in their beautiful house.
We were there this past week and everything was nice and clean. We were welcomed with a glass of vine to start our vacation. Breakfast was delicious! The property is very close to everything. Just park your car, and walk everywhere. We will definitely come back again!

Charm and location. The room we stayed in was truly like being home (we live in an 1892 Victorian) and we instantly fell in love with the decor. Unlike the \"brand name\" lodgings that we've become accustomed to The Powder House was the antithesis of the sterile institutional cookie cutter banality. The \"staff\" was charming, beyond hospitable, and very proud of the quality of the experience created for the quests. One comes to St. Augustine because of the history and a desire to go back in time and the Powder House instantly set the tone for a wonderful weekend. The breakfast we were served was gourmet quality and after years of eating on Styrofoam and plastic it was a treat to eat on plates and silverware.
My only observation which many people might find a problem was the size of the lavatory whish was rather small but had a charm of its' own (our Victorian shares those same qualities, it truly was like being home}. We'll stay there again assuming that readers of this review don't book them up solid until the Second Coming.

I LOVED our stay at the Powder House! The breakfast was the best I’ve had at any bed and breakfast. Made from scratch, quality ingredients, just phenomenal. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the covered porches were great places to sit and relax with a drink. The location is great-so close to everything. I don’t want to stay anywhere else in St. Augustine!

From with the very kind and helpful staff, beautiful furnishings, comfortable bedding, delicious breakfast on fine china, two large outdoor covered porches with rocking chairs, plus free parking, our anniversary weekend was a delightful experience. We loved the 2nd floor veranda, as there was always a nice breeze even though the temperature was very hot. The noise level from the street is a lot to get used to but the home was beautifully appointed and very clean. Breakfast was enjoyable. The location worked well for St. Augustine as most things were only a short walk to get to.

Lovely property in a very old and historic home, very near and walkable to the Old City. We were traveling with our daughter and her friend, so booked a suite to have enough beds. Beds were comfy and bathroom had been renovated. A curtain or sliding door between the sleeping areas, for privacy, would've been nice. Little extras like cold drinks, snacks and daily fresh-baked cookies were much appreciated! The breakfast at this bed and breakfast was a little disappointing. Not quite as advertised. Not much protein, small portions, buffet style.

The room was clean on arrival but not tended to during our stay unless we asked for clean sheets, towels and rubbish (one extremely small bin in toilet) to be removed.
Breakfasts were stunning if managed by the young ladies as it was more of a buffet and ingredients were separate, such as yoghurt and fruit; when cooked for by the owner of the B&B, my fruit was covered in yoghurt; it was given to my wife as I do not like the ingedient. The 'main'on this occasion was brought directly to you and there was no recourse for helping yourself to any more food. Sadly breakfast between 0900 and 1000 didn't suit our plans everyday and when we skipped breakfast one time when the owner was there, I received a text message stating I had to tell her when we would be at breakfast ~ there was no 'literature' on our arrival stating we 1) had to ask for cleaning, etc and 2) had to inform the property if we were attending breakfasts.
Parking at the rear of the property was good.

This is a nice B & B in the beautiful historic district in St Augustine. It is in walking distance to everything you could possibly want to see or do. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. Management did move our room from upstairs to the first floor, as my husband has some health issues, and we appreciated this.

Everything about our stay at the Old Powder House Inn was outstanding. From the friendly greeting (with afternoon treats) to the delightful breakfast followed by coffee on the porch, we couldn’t have asked for more. We were there during a bitter cold snap, but our lovely and spotless room was warm and we had a great sleep. Free parking on sight was a bonus too.
This may be our favorite B&B ever!

What really stood out was the perfect location right in the heart of Old Town—we could walk everywhere. Parking being included was a huge bonus. Breakfast was ahhhmazing: egg strata with delicious sausage, plus fresh fruit and juice. We loved relaxing in the rocking chairs on the front porch, just watching people stroll by. The room was very clean, very comfortable—comfy bed, ceiling fan, and cozy vibe—and the staff was genuinely kind and welcoming. A wonderful stay all around.

The room was very clean. My husband is 72 inches tall and the bathroom was a little tight for him. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The Inn has several common areas. We sat upstairs on the porch every night to watch the lighted trolleys, bicycles and golf carts go by. The breakfast was delicious and Katie made eggs for my husband because he didn't care for quiche or grits. Also, it is within walking distance of St. George street and the Waterfront. Paige, staff member was a sweetheart. We will return.

The staff were extremely good… excellent in fact, couldn’t be better. But sorry to say the St Augustine Christmas “Night of Lights” was very disappointing. Extremely overcrowded to the point of ruining the overall atmosphere. Reminiscent of Bourbon Street Mardi Gras noise and disorder.

I love this place. I wish I had known
I would’ve stayed another night. The lighting around the property was beautiful, and our room was stunning. They even left us a little gift, a small ornament, which was such a thoughtful touch. They offer breakfast made by the chef, who is also the owner, but unfortunately we didn’t make it in time to try it. I’m sure it was amazing. We will definitely be coming back again.

The dining chairs were short, small and not comfortable. The toilet was the shortest, smallest toilet I’ve ever seen. The bathtub had rust stains, old and felt like I didn’t want to take a shower. For $325 a night I didn’t expect Sams brand chips and soda. They talked about a welcome white wine. They didn’t have any. The nights were extremely loud, hard to sleep, they furnished white noise machines and earplugs. Asked for tips for services. Old furniture not very comfortable.

The menu for the breakfast was announced the night before, it’s different every day, it’s prepared just before it’s served. We liked these delicious homemade breakfasts! Early rises might prefer the breakfast to be served earlier than 9 am, but people who are willing to wait a little are rewarded with an excellent unique breakfasts! Our “Memories” room on the first floor was charming, spacious, with a character (decorated in vintage style), and inviting. The overall property is in a nice historically preserved condition and stylish decor of the past times. Hostess was hard working, accommodating, and welcoming. Location was super central and we walked everywhere. Highly recommend this place!

We stayed for 2 nights for a family event and did not receive any room service at all. We had to go ask for our own towels and the bed was not made or room cleaned up. The shower tub has rust and dirt all in it. A little CLR or Limeaway would have done wonders for cleaning it up and making it presentable. Otherwise the Inn was in a great location, and everything else is clean and spotless. Food was excellent, but wished that they had service earlier than 8:45am as we had to leave before then so could not get our breakfast on day of departure.
