Very helpful staff, clean room, and comfortable bed with extra pillows. The pool is nice and the hot tub is okay (not too hot). BTW: Breakfast is only available on the weekends. There are train tracks behind the hotel. I heard the train five times throughout the night. It wasn’t a big deal, just something to keep in mind.

Always a great stay! Our daughter spent four years at Flagler College and we have stayed here at least 10-15 times. Great location, decent pricing, clean rooms, the deck out back to chill on the river. Joel is a total bad ass and extremely good at what he does, he deserves a raise. Thanks so much!

This hotel was a complete disappointment. I was with kids, and they still put us in the worst room possible. The “view” was a wall! yes, an actual hallway wall.
The AC was unbelievably loud, making it impossible to sleep. The window shades didn’t fit properly, so hallway lights poured into the room all night long. And somehow they still charge a $15 resort fee, which makes absolutely no sense.
To top it off, the front desk didn’t even ask how our stay was at checkout. I won’t be returning.

The toilet valve was filling all night. Easy fix that should been noticed and fix before renting out the room. Decent room but not great parking. Active railroad tracks to the back of the property. A freight train woke me up middle of the night. Ok hotel, if at all lower price point. Will stay somewhere else next time.

The property and furnishings are getting dated Staff was super helpful and the onsite Colombian restaurant is unexpected.
My wife and I were put in Rm108. This is an interior room that shares a hallway with the restaurant garbage bin run. Exactly 9pm everything went quiet and slept just fine.
If you're going to book a room here, go for 2nd floor, backside looking toward the river. Really pretty.

Front desk clerk she was really sweet. Was given a room to see the beautiful view out back, had to change rooms, as the room had smelt and the stairs wasnt beneficial for me due to medical. 2nd room smelt better. Animal hair all over and the AC leaked all over the floor by the bed. Husband and I had agreed not to switch rooms again. She did apologize for any inconvenience. We asked for towels to help with the AC leak and was very helpful. Beds were comfortable. Showers do need bleaching, but I would stay again. Very convenient in getting to places near by.

Just want to say Thank you to the lady who had checked us in. Your kindness was appreciated!

There was no room service, despite what was said on line, so a lie about that was a bad way to start the relationship. I only found out about free coffee in the lobby at breakfast time after my first morning there when I had to pay for a small cup of coffee in the restaurant because the in room machine was too dirty to use. The hotel service fee was charged, even though we were not told what it was for, and we didn't use any of the services it was supposedly for. This extra \"service fee\" AKA elsewhere as a \"resort fee\" is a despicable practice in many Florida hotels. Pet fee of $25.00 per night was a ripoff. The room was clean, however.

Overall this was a good hotel for the money. Bathroom was updated, bed was firm. It wasn't the most esthetically appealing, a mix of old and new. Our hotel room had an odd smell amd if we had stayed more than two nights I would have gotten an air freshener. The location was awesome. We caught the shuttle at the visitor center next door to go get on the trolley. The Rain Tree restaurant was a quick walk for dinner one night and was very good.

The building is old, but they did make an effort to repair and keep it up. The rooms are outside so I would categorize this as a motel but the sign states, \"hotel.\" The AC unit sounded like it was on its death bed and kept me up most of the night rattling. The pool area is nice, and the employees go above and beyond during your stay. There is a cute little overpriced restaurant inside the front lobby area which I did not eat at during my stay.
In order to get to most of the shops, Fountain of Youth, etc., you are going to have to walk 30 minutes or more. Plus, the hotel is right off the main highway, so you'll need to cross it which proved to be tricky since the pedestrian crosswalk light was broken.
Overall, it was a good experience since the staff are so helpful. It cost more than it should, but everything is expensive in St. Augustine.

The room was clean, staff was personable and kind. My only complaint was the pool area. The Hot tub wasn't working (hotel responsibility) and the pool area was dirty. (Mind you, it was the guests that caused this, not the staff.) However, the area could have been cleaned/checked more often so that you didn't see cigarette butts, band Aids, Hair ties, water bottles, etc. left in the area. The pool itself, had a lot of debris in it , leaves, bugs, twigs (hotel responsibility). This area should be checked and cleaned several times a day. Sorry that the Guests were such PIGS! Shame on them.

Nothing wrong with a place at all it was very comfortable. The only issue that I had with the place for the ridiculous pillows. There were more like cushions. There’s nothing like rolling over and falling off a pillow. The showerhead could be a little better but other than that, it was great. I would definitely use that place again as long they fixed the pillow situation.

I honestly booked this one because of the hot tub and I saw several great reviews. We ended up not even going near the hot tub because this place is older.
Although I’m sure they try to keep it as clean as they can, the place was old and we were woken up all night long by the train that came through because the tracks are right next to the hotel. No one told us about the train so I feel like I need to be honest in the review!! We probably won’t stay here again.

The room was very nice and clean. Unfortunately, the bed felt a bit old and saggy. Also, the baseboard had a corner that was Sharp, and my husband got a little cut on his leg. I was not sure if a piece of wood was placed under the bed to stabilize it, and one of the corners was not rounded or not suitable for the bed.
We were looking for so much to go back to this place and enjoy the swimming pool and Jacuzzi at the end of the day, but this was not possible at all. Jacuzzi was broken and dirty The area around the pool was neglected with dead flowers hanging from last summer, chairs around the fireplace were dirty with food, stains, really unwelcoming . The Windows of the room are not clean and the big window on the hallway that overlooks to the lobby, which is such a beautiful window was also neglected.

Everyone was so nice and would send daily texts checking on whether I needed anything which was very thoughtful. The property is an older property but very well kept. It's about a 20 minute walk to the historic district. There is a busy road that you have to cross but once you get past that it's a pleasant walk through through a beautiful neighborhood. The only issue I had was that both the Jacuzzi and bath tub were lukewarm at best, but neither of these were a biggie. Highly recommend!

This seemed like it may be a classic hotel in St Augustine, so we reserved for our trip. Unfortunately, we realized immediately when we arrived that it was very different than both the photos and Expedia rating portrayed it to be. The odor of fish from the restaurant (not good fish) was extremely overpowering and the surroundings and room were not as they appeared in the photos. Maybe we expected too much, but it wasn't the facilities or atmosphere we expected. We left immediately after check-in. I'm sure it's a great place for some to enjoy, but we were uncomfortable and could not stay here.

My suitcase was all wet and the tile floor was very slippery. The shower does not have pressure at all. We arrived on a Wednesday around 8pm expecting the restaurant/bar to be open. They are not open on Wednesday evenvings. All of this should be listed in the property description. No one can complain if we know upfront what we are getting into.
