The most basic level of a Hilton. Good location, parking was secure but expensive ($25/day). The pool didn't look inviting, and there was no privacy between it and the parking lot. The staff is not very friendly; they don't seem to know how to smile. The breakfast lacks variety, and there's no accessible microwave to warm food; the Holiday Inn has a better breakfast than this place. There are no microwaves or coffee makers in the rooms. There is a coffee station in the lobby accessible at all times.

Stayed for 3 nights in April 2026. Location is perfect. Walk to virtually all sites in historic district. Hotel staff are courteous and available. No coffee machine or microwave in rooms and waited all day for cleaning service, but room was updated and very clean. Free breakfast was nice. Hallway was quiet. We will return!: BTW. The Raintree and The Columbian restaurants are excellent and nearby.

Clean room, bathroom. Free breakfast, limited to oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, muffins & cereal, some fruit. Which worked fine for us. Appreciated the available coffee/tea 24/7. Good location if you are able to walk 13 mins to St George Street with all the shops, restaurants & bars. And loved the antique shops just north of hotel, plus close to trolly stops.. Again, a great location for everything.

The room was quite basic. No coffee maker in the room. There was some maintenance lacking (ie loose toilet handle ) Mediocre quality repair work was visible under the sink. Parking fee at the hotel is an additional $27.88 per day ! Booking sites show this extra charge as an easily overlooked by-line. On a positive note, our room was relatively quiet and we slept well.

Disappointing. We arrived at 3pm before many other guests and were immediately told we had a ground room floor, something that scares me since being burglarized. When I explained and asked for a room anywhere above, even if a lower rate, the clerk laughed at my concern (actually did) and simply refused saying that wax our room, she’d decided so. At that point we wanted to leave for any other hotel, but could not as our children were already en route for the fire fighter cadet gathering this weekend. So I asked again and she said I would have to pay an additional amount over the significant price already booked through your company. We were further shocked when told we had to pay an additional non refundable big amount (Im not allowed to say how much or I may not submit this, also shocking) for on site parking - shocking since Expedia’s big point is that there will be no additional charges.
We were stuck and forced to go to the room which was dark, dismal, had no coffee machine or any amenities - even a picture wax missing from the wall!! I’ll be checking our credit card carefully to ensure the amount held for incidentals which was put on our card is returned - especially since there were none available!!
We will never (and typically we avoid that extreme) stay at any Hilton related accommodations again and be sure to warn our friends, family and colleagues of the awful experience we had at the Sparks Hilton.

Completely overrated for what it delivers!!

My husband and I used to stay in this hotel a few years ago and decided to stay again with our family that came from Brazil to spend the New Year’s with us.

They changed the brand and unfortunately didn’t upgrade anything that could be more aligned with the brand, and they kept one of the employees, who was the same lady that was there in our last stay, and was extremely rude and unprepared to be a position she was behind the front desk, with a Management responsibility. But we decided to give the hotel another try since we used to stay there all the time I went to St Augustine.

She was again the person in the front desk and our experience with her was below horrible, she was extremely rude, unprofessional, and didn’t care about our needs. It was obvious that she’s not the type of personality that a hotel should put in the front of the guest.
I am a bachelor in tourism and hospitality and this is one of the first thing we learn in this business, customer service is what says all this establishments apart and make the guest experience unique.

We will never come back after our second try and last experience with this lady hosting in the front desk.
We were charged an outrageous amount to stay one night because of the Christmas light Season and hours experience were frustrating by far about what were delivered versus what we paid for.

They dont do room service if you don’t stay more than 2 days. I wish i could upload pictures to show how dirty this place is. Dont walk barefoot in the room, carpet and tiled floor are super nasty. Parking is $25 per day and they tell you this things when you check in. The only nice thing i can say about this place is they do have a friendly staff. There is nothing about Hilton in this place. No microwave in the room or coffee machine. Lobby and elevator floors are super nasty.

We did an over night with 3 kids in one room with 2 double beds. It was a great location for us. It was a super close walk to the everything but kind of off to the side which worked great for us. The morning was great for the kids with the free breakfast. Super simple and not very busy as my kids can be really loud and are up and down. It was fresh and a great stop off for the night.

Good location and price, but the overall stay left a lot to be desired. Initially entering my room it seemed clean but when I pulled the table out I discovered it was filthy underneath, the tap water to include the shower smelled burnt, as if the boiler was going out. The elevator was clunky and slow to open sometimes, and there is only one washer and dryer so you are better off going to a laundromat if you need laundry. But the staff was nice, and you really can’t beat the location except for directly on the beach (it’s across the street from Ripleys and a short walk from the old town).

This hotel is walkable to historic Saint Augustine. Very expensive for the condition of the room that we received. Instead of door handles to the outside semi balcony, ours was stuffed with washcloths. Was not worth the price, but the location is extremely convenient.

I really liked the location of this hotel. It was in a perfect area to enjoy the many sites of St. Augustine. The room was clean, the a/c was awesome, the beds were comfortable. I do have a few dislikes. The floor I was on was getting the carpets clean, which im sure was needed, however, the hoses were stretched down the hallway and made it hazardous to walk thru the hallway. It was loud and we couldn't rest due to some alarm on the machine going off for over an hour. The hallway was very muggie and wet feeling and it had a musty oder that wafted into our room. My Aunt, who needs assistance to walk almost slipped and fell when going into the elevator on a tiled floor from the wet carpet. Thank goodness she had a good hold on her walker. The room did not have a coffee pot as advertised and there was no microwave in the room. We had to go downstairs to heat up our food. I understand that parking is limited, but $25 a night is ridiculous to be able to park my car. The pool was very small, but clean and cool after a hot day of walking. For a Hilton property, I expected better.

We made the reservation through hotels.com. on their website it shows parking st $15 + tax but when we checked in we were charged $27.88 including tax. Not sure whether it is your error or there's for this discrepancy. We were not happy about this; more the principle than the cost. It needs to be rectified.

My family waited in the lobby for 3 hours while I was on the phone with all of the other guests she couldn't assist as well. Terrible experience. Will never go back.

After having read quite a few negative reviews of this place we were second guessing our choice but decided to take a chance and form our own opinion, and let's just say....we're glad we did! Contrary to the complaints of others, the front service staff was friendly upon both check in and check out. We were only staying the one night and had plenty of towels and a shower curtain that others said were missing. The room and bathroom were very clean with no wet floors or musty odor as others have spoke of. While there was indeed no AC in the hallways it didn't bother us as it was plenty cold inside our room which is more important to us anyway. There was a nice TV and contrary to what others stated the bed and pillows were actually really comfortable. The elevator was working during our stay but it was a bit slow but I have patience. We didn't use the pool so I can't speak for how that area was. Also,and I'm so grateful, there was hot water!! so many reviews stated there wasn't but it got super hot and fast too. As for the breakfast and people who were complaining about the lack of options, I could care less. It's a free hotel breakfast and I wasn't expecting much. Besides, the hotel is located in the heart of the historic district where there's tons of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So I don't know, did we just get extremely lucky or are people just a little too nit picky? All I can say is form your own opinion. We enjoyed our stay and will return in the future.

Lovely hotel, priced at about half the rate for similar hotels in downtown St. Augustine. Rooms and bathrooms are large and beautiful (amazing decor!). The only thing for guests to keep in mind is that there are no coffeemakers in the rooms, you have to go to the lobby for hot water/coffee/tea. Also, while there is 'breakfast' every morning, it's just bagels and muffins, no hot food, but again, the hotel is priced very well and it is far cheaper to buy a nice meal for $15-$20 at Juniper Market next door than to pay an extra $200/night at another hotel just for eggs/sausage for breakfast. The staff is very kind, considerate and professional. If I'm ever in St. Augustine again, I will definitely stay here.

Terrible hotel 10 out of 10 do not recommend. Staff was extremely unpleasant to deal with and rude... firs day on check in elevator does not work , then no hot water for 3 days in the room when we wanted to take a shower. Notified front desk no one cared... cleaning service cleaned our room the first night and subsequent nights took our dirty towels and did not replace them. Asked for towes on the second night , they had no clean towels and i had ro wait 45 minutes where i got a text that the 2 towels i request were ready for me to pick up at the front desk... attenteant tells me that the staff dosent clean every room every day.... trash place for the price i could have stayed elsewhere , if this s**t hole was 10 bucks a night i wouldnt stay again.

I arrived around 9 pm and there was no one at the front desk. The room was dirty, dusty and there was hair on the floor. Upon departure the elevator got stuck and we were stuck there for a while along with another family. The hotel manager got us out a while after but it was a scary experience, and it didn’t feel like he was truly surprised by the issue. Maybe it happens often. I hope they get it fixed. For the price I don’t think it’s worth it at all

Was very nice but the staff was terrible very rude my sister also rented a room and also was very disappointed we also asked them for extra towels and pillows and they told us they didn’t any so ridiculous. And to top it off when we went to check out we got stuck in the elevator. I will never recommend or stay at this hotel again unless they change the staff.
