About Best Western Bayfront
The Best Western Bayfront is located in the heart of the historic district on the beautiful Matanzas Bay. This 1950 historic hotel conversion has 59 comfortable, petite and cozy rooms while still offering all of our signature amenities and exceptional first in class service.

Having the ideal location within walking distance of all major attractions in the historical district, the Best Western Bayfront has much to offer. The Best Western Bayfront invites you to see the Spanish Quarter, a restored eighteenth century section of old St. Augustine.

We love the Best Western Bayfront in St Augustine. The location is the best, right in the middle of the historic district and directly across from the beautiful bay. The upstairs covered patio is one of our favorite amenities. We enjoy eating breakfast up there, happy hour, or anytime you want to relax and enjoy the amazing water views. The rooms are on the smaller side, but decorated very nicely. The bathroom is very modern with a beautiful shower.

The bands behind the building played until well past midnight, and even the sound of the AC didn’t drown them out . . . They also hit us up for parking which I wasn’t expecting, for about $27 and you sign a waiver about damage to your car. The spot we were assigned was not very close to our room, the giant pick up trucks got those, and were so tightly parked they were not easy to get around when hauling your luggage with you. The stair wells are extremely narrow and the area to get around them at the top I think is even narrower. If you stay here, try to get a first floor room on the north side of the hotel, directly behind the office. I think it might be quieter there, too.

I stayed here with my 7 year old son and 12 year old daughter, as the location was exactly where we wanted to be so that we could tour the historic sites on-foot, without having to deal with parking and traffic. Property was in great shape, parking lot was secure, and my kids enjoyed the pool.

This hotel is located close to the main areas of St. Augustine. You are able to walk to most attractions in the area. The room was clean and well kept. The truly fabulous part is the central location with out breaking the bank to stay this close to downtown. It is surrounded by many bars and restaurants.

Parking is a night mare. Everytime you leave and come back, they want you to check in to see where to park. I ended up moving a cone out of the way of a parking spot, then they came and got me out of the hotel and asked me to back into the spot. Ended up leaving a day early. Also in the king size bed room, the TV was at the side of the bed and not the foot of the bed. The photos of the room on this website shows a lot bigger and nicer room than we were in.

Lastly it was $1000 (after all the fees were tacked on) for 2 nights (Fri & Sat).

If not for the exceptional location, I would not normally choose this type of accommodation. Well past its prime, from narrow steps, excessively humid almost damp in room, cramped bathroom, old stained tile, banged up woodwork, exhaust fan that runs but apparently does not move air, extension cords fastened to stair rail and painted to match. Noisy. Positives - comfortable bed, relatively clean. Nice staff, secure parking (paid but worth it) and in middle of everything. Fortunately we spent most of time enjoying local spots. Recommended diner next store was excellent for breakfast. A relative bargain, but you get what you pay for.

It wasn’t a bad stay but the tile in the bathrooms was cracked and lifting off the floor. The shower floor did not drain well at all there was at least and inch of water in the shower for quite a while. Parking was very tight and kind of a pain (kind of expected it but still) highlight was it’s close to a lot of really cool stuff to do and see

The parking coordination was fabulous. We were directed exactly where and how to park, It may sound annal but it worked beautifully. The room was clen, the AC was not annoyingly loud. The location was primo. The view from the community balcony was fantastic. It was a view of the river, street traffic and people watching.

The Best Western Bayfront is best place to stay in the Historic District of St. Augustine. Just park your car on their lot and you can walk all over the District. We have been staying their for at least 8 years and just love to stay there. The whole place was just upgraded a couple of years ago and it's beautiful.

Just Ok for location. Across the street from the historic district. Walkable to most everything worth walking to. Caution- it is on a main highway pass through. Semi’s and gravel trucks all day. Jake braking was the norm. They haul to and from the container ships. Don’t get one of the balcony rooms. Not worth it. Very, very loud. Terrible city planning. It is a holiday express, so the rooms are what you might expect. ice machines don’t work with the response well there’s more on other floors.! One elevator car broke down on day two while the other one was making horrendous sounds made for an interesting stay. Especially the point where the emergency alert system started squealing, saying that there was an emergency located inside the property. Please follow the staircases out of the building. So treking down the stairs with luggage from the sixth floor just to find out in the lobby that it was a false alarm set off by an elevator repair. (which didn’t repair the elevator). And having to inform the people still on the way down that it was a false alarm because there was no all clear called. Overall, you can tell there was lazy management.

Housekeeping was rude. They started knocking on our door at 9AM when check out was not til 11AM. When we said we weren't ready yet, the guy tried opening our door twice and started banging on our door again. They did the same to the room next to us and left when the other occupants told him that check out is not until 11AM. Ruined our stay in St Augustine.

Parking good, AC cracked, water tanks went out so no shower in the morning! Restaurant behind began moving loads around at 530am and couldn’t sleep. If you’re there on a weekend the bands will keep you up at night but they will give you free earplugs! 😣

This is a well kept property in the historical area. Once you park your car (about $25) you can walk to the historical sites and restaurants. The hotel is on the hop on, hop off trolley route so that makes transportation very easy. We enjoyed our stay.

First time spending over $400 for a 2 star for location. Location was epic, right in the middle of old St. Augustine. Adding $25 to park your car was ridiculous. Granted, price point was last minute (a week in advance) booking through expedia,and during spring break, but I'll probably avoid the central location next time for a quieter sleep as the location was definitely not condusive to peaceful slumber.
