Sadly our room was very disappointing. Mould and dust around windows, mould in bathroom and drain in shower blocked so only able to have extremely quick shower to avoid flooding bathroom. Staff at reception were apologetic however for amount paid would expect more from this hotel chain.

The room, 314, was in a terrible state. Raw plugs were still exposed in the bathroom and main room walls. The net curtains were discolored at the base, The furniture and shower were tired and somewhat tatty. The position of the wall mounted TV reveled the room was not really fit for purpose as a hotel room.

We booked a suite and the room was great. Beautiful bathroom with roll top bath! It was clean and comfortable with a large bed and plenty of tea / coffee etc. Lovely touch with a can of diet coke each and water in the fridge for us.

All staff were fantastic. Very polite and welcoming. Booked a privileged room , bed really comfy and room clean. Bathroom needed updating, toilet didn't flush properly and hardly any power in the shower. Enjoyed breakfast, not much choice on cereal but fresh pastries and fried breakfast was nice.

Room was not big enough for 2. Only one chair available, which was filthy. Room not serviced for a staying guest. Dirty cups, glasses. Mould on the bathroom ceiling. Thick dust on the bathroom window ledge. Mirror light not working. Shower was far too small for one person, and I’m not big. Main window curtain was held up by Velcro and couldn’t be opened except by ripping it down. Says there would be a tea/coffee maker available, including a kettle, but no maker. Reception staff on both evenings were lovely and helpful and got us clean cups and tea, coffee and milk as none had been replaced. On checkout, reception did not ask about our stay. Hence we never said anything.

Good base for central Nottingham

A one night stay to visit Motorpoint Arena. Hotel was a good centre for this and for exploring the centre of Nottingham. Our room was comfortable but as it's an old hotel the room above had very creaky floorboards. The closest parking is on a very tight multi-storey car park.

Since there was no parking, we parked at the Victoria Shopping Center, less than a 10 minute walk. The hotel interior was old and beautiful 0ur room was fantastic and large. The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was also good. We would stay there again.

Please accept this as a constructive critique. The Mercure Nottingham City Center has a lot going for it, such as a friendly staff and a great location. That said, the property itself is in need of some improvements. I stayed in Room 502, and the hot water pressure was often so low that it wouldn’t trigger the shower switch; the is my main issue with the property.

Old & Dated - doesn't look like the pictures

Another example of a hotel group posting pictures on their website when the rooms were newly refurbished - I would say that must have been 15 - 20 years ago. The rooms are nothing like they look on the pictures.
Carpets are really old and don't look like they've been cleaned for years. The decor is extremely old - like your Nannnas furniture. The bathrooms are clean, but are also old and dated - so they don't FEEL clean.
The staff were friendly and helpful and did move me to a different room after my initial feedback - but it was just a slightly bigger room in the same condition.
The room facilities didn't get replenished (tea, coffee), so that just added insult to injury.
This is part of the bigger \"Accor\" group of hotels - they should be ashamed of letting this hotel fall into such disrepute.
Not worth the money I had to pay to stay here - If I'd paid £60 per night included VAT I wouldn't mind - at least I'd know what I was getting

Be careful which room you book!
Room 314 is like a couple of broom cupboards. It was awfully small and poorly maintained. It was clean, however.
No space to walk.around the bed without knocking the wall mointed tv.
Bed was uncomfortable....not all lights in room and bathroom worked. Shower is for very very small people only! Not a normal Mecure standard room at all....more akin to Ibis budget.

One of my go to Nottingham hotels

This hotel is really good although if wanting the best experience I would recommend the premium room or higher as the standard rooms won't be the best but still acceptable for a hotel especially the oldest in Nottingham. I had a standard room this time and wasn't happy with it so I asked for an upgrade was willing to pay the extra cost but the amazing staff let me have a premium room for no extra cost which was great. Breakfast is good the staff are very polite and there's lots of food choice available. The TVs in the hotel are extremely dated and the universal remotes can be fiddely but this doesn't bother me too much. Hotel internet is impressively fast with 100Mbps download and around 130Mbps upload allowing you to connect your own devices and watch movies, stream, work or whatever with ease.

The one complaint I will make which isn't really a complaint was I ordered some food with deliveroo but quickly realized we didn't have any cutlery so I called reception asked for some forks and they said they'd be right up but nobody came (I ended up using the already provided spoons to eat my curry as it was late and I didn't want to cause anymore of a fuss).

Overall its a great hotel experience and I'll be sure to checkout the bar next time I stay here. If you're looking for one of the cheapest stays with a great experience this is the hotel for you.

An enjoyable stay with a goodnights sleep

An old quirky hotel with aircon in the room - awesome. Old furniture and fittings in room were great. Good shower with all the extras from kettle, soaps, shampoo, a glass in the bathroom for teeth (most places no longer provide). Hospitality had all we needed including biscuits. Only a one night stay for the Arena - 3 minutes walk away - but really enjoyed with a good nights sleep. All reception staff we met were smiley and courteous. Will be back.

A very atmospheric hotel right in the city centre

We stayed over night at the hotel for a gig at Motorpoint Arena and it’s situated really conveniently, just five minutes away from the venue.
The bed was good in size and the mattress is just right . The room was clean and stylish, with good sound insulation it was very quiet. The breakfast was very nice too. The members of staff were polite and friendly.
I only put four stars just because the air conditioner is positioned at the side of the bed and It’s not possible to sleep with it on as it creates permanent cool air flow. Also, you can’t take shower without getting yourself under cold water first and then you get your head wet as the shower head is not removable.

I've stayed at the Mercure Nottingham before, but this room was not as good as previously experienced. The bed was not great and the room small. The location is fantastic, and the decor and ambiance of the hotel itself is great.

Being in that area of Nottingham gives you access to Hockley and the Lace Market, both have fantastic pubs, restaurants and shopping. The immediate area is vibrant and fun.

Needs an upgrade

Paid for a privilege room as advertised with a separate seating area. This consisted of a square type of sofa bed in the room which didn’t even face the TV, totally uncomfortable and precarious to even sit on. Although the room was a good size the bathroom was tiny. The whole room needs an update. Our room faced out the back of the hotel which did make it very quiet and as on the 5th floor was only a few rooms so no disturbance.
The staff were very friendly, especially the breakfast staff. Breakfast was buffet style and was decent with a good selection. Regularly ‘topped up’ as needed. Sadly probably the worst sausages I’ve ever had.
A good centrally based hotel for Nottingham but generally just felt a bit grubby.
