We had a really nice stay at the Bayerischer Hof! The location was really convenient for us traveling with a toddler so we were able to take the train in and out of the Neustadt station basically across the street. The breakfast was really nice and they let us add it on the day of which was helpful during our stay as we adjusted to the jet lag. There’s a tram stop really close to the hotel which what we used to get around Dresden with ease. Definitely would stay here again!

Conveniently located near the south-Dresden train station (not main one). Doesn't look like much from the outside, but beautiful inside with very comfortable rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Streetcars nearby for reaching the historic inner city of Dresden - takes less than ten minutes to get there. Great value.

Close to everything in Dresden

Just having stayed here last fall for our first visit to Dresden, we picked a great Hotel close to the Dresden Neustadt train station. Our return this December was just as great s our first visit, only longer. our room was perfect for us and the breakfast is more than you could ever dream of. We will return here every time we visit visit our family in Dresden.

If noise bothers you, not the place to stay.

The hotel was lovely, the staff was wonderful but our room was facing the railroad tracks and it was quite hot so we had to sleep with the windows open. That was the noisiest room we ever stayed in. All night freight trains and loud clacking trains passed. It was terrible. Had there been some fans or air conditioning we could have closed the window. I’d not recommend for this reason!

Attention travelers from the USA!

This hotel will not accept your reservation unless you produce a paper voucher!

I booked through Orbitz from the US, and upon check-in was told by the hotel's front desk manager I need to hand in a voucher. I explained there are no vouchers when booking with Orbitz, but this explanation was not accepted. After negotiating back and forth for 30 minutes and showing my booking confirmation and payment details the front desk manager agreed to \"make an exception\" and allow me into the room (which I had fully paid for). I immediately called Orbitz and they confirmed: there are no vouchers when you book with Orbitz.

Thinking all was sorted, I stayed the night, but the next morning the hassle continued: now a new front desk manager told me I would not be allowed to check out unless I hand over the non-existing voucher! Another 20 minute confrontational argument ensued, followed by being lectured that “it's your responsibility to get a voucher from Orbitz”. I was also admonished that “you should be grateful for having been allowed into our hotel at all”.

Simply unacceptable!

I even offered to connect the front desk lady to the Orbitz help line, but she declined. What a nightmare! How can there be such a fundamental misunderstanding between a hotel and Orbitz? Why is this misunderstanding taken out on the backs of the hotel guests instead of going through the corporate back channels?

Complaints have been filed.

Good location - very nice hotel staff. Charming hotel. They provided a A/C type ventilator which was nice because it was damp on humid during our visit. DONT DRINK THE WATER FROM FRIDGE..... 10 euros for 20 oz mineral water which caught us by surprise.

Breakfast area was lovely and good selection. Lovely garden area too.

No A/C on a very noisy street

Hotels is pretty nice, however, there is no A/C in the room and most rooms face a very busy road and a train station, so even if you open windows for at least some air, the noise is impossible to handle! You either get no sleep because you have to listen to trains and cars or because it's too hot in the room
Also, breakfast ends at 10am, so if you like to sleep in, that's not an option.

A quality hotel

We arrived late to the hotel, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was really spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet offered a good selection and helped set us up for the day.
The hotel is very near the railway station and trams, it is also just a short walk to the main sites in the old town.
We had only booked a stay in Dresden to break our journey but it was well worth the visit and the hotel was very nice.

This hotel is located within easy walking distance of the Dresden-Neustadt railway station. There were places both north and south of the Elbe that I wanted to see, so it worked out well for me.

It's a clean and comfortable place to stay and there is a restaurant in the hotel.

Convenient Location from Main Station and Airport

Convenient to train station for our arrival from Berlin and departure to the airport. Walking distance to the Alt Stadt. Enjoyed a klezmer musical review at an intimate theater not far from the hotel. Enjoyed seeing the Frauenkirche completely reconstructed since our first visit to Dresden in 2000 when it was all a bunch of pieces. Enjoyed walking throughout the Alt Stadt. Made a visit to Festung Konigstein and to Meissen. Enjoyed eating the lunch specials at Freiburger Schanhaus on Neumarkt. Did not eat breakfast at hotel.

an overnight stop only- unfortunately!

We picked this hotel for its quality and comfort, proximity to Old Town centre (about 15 min walk) and availability of a secure parking spot. Arrived around 6PM and left 10AM, so did not get too much time to relax in the hotel. Our (double) room was a very good size. Breakfast was excellent- plenty of choice, and good service by the staff.
The afternoon of our departure I received an email informing us we had left some medication behind (insulin)- having already left Germany, hotel was happy to post to us and this was done free of charge.
We would love to spend more time seeing Dresden, and plan to do so next year. We hope to stay at the Hof again!

One of the nicest hotel I have recently stayed in. Excellent and very helpful and kind staff. Breakfast is top notch. Bedding like in a solid 5 star hotel. Location can not be better and only 7-10 minutes walk to Dresden's attractions, museums and castle. Free parking for thus who is traveling on a car.

Within walking distance, but not close

The stern façade is misleading. Once inside, this hotel has style and seen from the back it is totally different. At check-in I found out that my classical room meant a room with a view ...of the railway! Trains ran day and night in front of our window. Otherwise, the buffet breakfast was very good. You can walk to the old city, across a pleasant residential neighbourhood, but it isn't close.

Nice hotel in good location, but parking's limited

I arrived (by car) late in the evening, and couldn't find a free parking space in the hotel's parking lot. Instead, the staff directed me to a commercial parking space in an office nearby, knowing that the office staff wouldn't be needing the space the next morning (Sunday). But if I hadn't arrived on a Saturday (or Friday) evening, I might have been SOL.

Apart from this, the hotel was comfortable, and only about 1km from the Dresden Altstadt (old town). It's also very close to the Dresden main railway station.

Double bed had one mattress but individual duvets. Trains are close but quiet. Road noise is more of an issue - the weather was warm, and with no air conditioning we opened the windows. Temperature was then very comfortable but every morning the trucks and buses made enough noise to wake me up. Uses \"real\" keys on heavy fob - apparently it is to be turned in each time you leave & collected upon return. Maybe 10 minutes of walking to a shopping area with lots of excellent restaurant choices. Around 20 minutes walk from hotel to the Zwinger. Few parking spots right in the backyard, but not ever full.

This is my second stay at this hotel. It may be my favorite hotel in Germany. The furninshings are lovely, very unhotellike. The public areas are inviting. The location is not as good as it used to be, since the train from Berlin no longer stops at the Neustadt station which is within steps of the hotel. Still, the hotel is at a transportation hub, but gives the feeling of an elegant country home. The old city is within easy walking distance or a few minutes away by the adorable Dresden trams.

A pleasant surprise

The hotel is slightly out of the way but only 15 minutes from the historic centre. The room was very clean and comfortable (no air conditioning, though!) and the service was friendly and very efficient. Very handy for the railway station.

Wir haben das Hotel zur Zwischenübernachtung gebucht und deshalb in der Nähe des Bahnhofs Dresden-Neustadt. Das Haus hat noch wirklich Atmosphäre und ist sehr angenehm. Klar, die Aussicht aus dem Fenster zur Straße bzw. Bahngleise ist halt nicht der \"Alpenblick\".

Es ist in Ordnung und sauber aber 4 Sterne?
Offenes Fenster ist nicht möglich wegen Lärm durch Hauptverkehrsstraße und DB inkl. Bahnhof.
Bei geschlossenem Fenster hört man nix, aber keine Klimaanlage.

Huone ( 2 hengen yhdelle) oli pienen kaksion kokoinen.Ja huoneeseen kuuluva Aula ja kylpyhuone olivat yksiön kokoisia.väljyyttä kuin sviitissä.

Aamiainen, monipuolinen valikoima. Tarjottiin elegantissa aamiaissalissa. Henkilökunta sydämellistä ja asiansa osaavaa. Ja henkilökuntaa on tarpeeksi. Ei itsestäänselvyys tänä päivänä.
Alalla 54 vuotta kuudessa maassa työskennelleenä, voin kiittäen todeta, että täällä on vangittu TÄRKEIN vanhanajan korkeantason hotellin tunnelmasta ja yhdistetty se nykyajan tehokkuuteen: Asiakas kiedotaan hyvänolon vaippaan, mikä saa hänet uskomaan olevansa, jos ei ihan kuningas niin ainakin prinssi.

Do not choose the rooms facing the road in Summer.

Check-in was very good, they let us in around 1pm.
Our room was facing the road and the train station, which meant when the windows were open, we could hardly sleep. The rooms have no air conditions so in summer you are forced to open the windows.
When I told the manager about the issue, she said that the rooms facing the train station have a lower price, which of course is unknown to me, because Hotrel.com did not give me the option to chose a room on the other side. I then asked the manager to give us some kind of a discount, for example free parking or breakfast, she declined, which I did not find friendly at all.
I have to advise the guests to make sure not to take the rooms facing the road in summer otherwise you will not be able to sleep. For me, it was very hard, because I had to drive 500 km the next day and not having slept the night before, it proved very challenging to say the least.
I believe Hotel.com should make some compensation to us for not giving us the option to chose the right side of the hotel.

朝ごはんも美味しく、部屋もクラッシクで好みでした。
ホテルに入るために階段を数段登る必要があるので、重いスーツケースを持っている場合はそこが注意です。

Uns hat besonders die Freundlichkeit/Herzlichkeit der Mitarbeiter gefallen, ganz offen und herzlich egal ob an der Rezeption oder beim Frühstück - wir kommen sehr gern wieder :-)
