We really enjoyed this place! Staff was friendly and easy check-in and out. On-site parking. The place is located within minutes walk from Zwinger and other major attractions. Two grocery stores Rewe and a Hallal place are within a couple of blocks. The apartment is roomy and well furnished with lots of storage and modern appliances (including washer and dryer). It can easily accommodate a family up to 6~7 people. It has its own sauna and jetted tub, two showers, walk-in closet, comfy beds and clean linens. The place lacks some essentials such as paper towels, dish washing sponge, coffee/tea, cooking oil and spices. But this is not an exactly airb&b type of place, so ...
Overall, great value and we highly recommend it!

Huge, beautiful, convenient apartment

This is not actually a hotel, but rather a beautiful, furnished apartment. My upgraded apartment had two bathrooms, one of which had a jacuzzi bath. There was a huge television in the living room, and a slightly smaller one in the bedroom. A very dramatic, modern apartment.

WOW!! says it all

This well located apartment was perfect for exploring Dresden. It is near the shopping center where the grocery store is located on the lower level .. easy walking distance. The old town attractions (and there are many) are within walking distance with the Zwinger located right across the street from the apartment.

Check in was easy. A city walking map was supplied on checkin and requested recycling and trash disposal instructions as well.

The apartments are newly built and have been thoughtfully furnished with modern appliances (including a washer / dryer .. I downloaded the English version of the of the operators manual) and storage options. WiFi was strong and reliable. Kitchen utensils, cutlery, glassware, linens, etc all of very nice quality. All appliances worked as intended. The automatic roll shades allowed the patio door to be open, while blocking glare from the outside.

The staff were courteous and informative, allowing us to store our luggage between checkout and time to catch the tram to the train station. There is a tram stop just a minutes walk (easy to use ticket machines and a transportation info center are located at Postplatz, adjacent to the shopping mall).

When visiting Dresden again, we would seek accommodation here.

This is a very clean, spacious, quiet and well-equipped apartment hotel, it has a full kitchen, laundry washer with integrated dryer. The location is also great, next to the Zwinger Palace just across the road. We enjoyed our stay very much and were glad that we booked this hotel.

Location - not too close and not too far

Great location close enough to be able to quickly walk to the main attractions shops and restaurants and far enough away when you want to recover from the days exertions that you cannot hear the noise of the town. Room was unbelievable clean.

Only issue was one particular person at reception. First day get a temp and she tries hard to assist in any way and was very good. Next few times get Princess grumpy who clearly doesn't want to be there and was totally unhelpful. Fortunately on one occasion a lovely young man in the office was a lot more helpful and comes to our room to assist with sorting out our inquiry. And our complicated requests? We couldn't get some of the appliance in the room to operate due to the limited instruction provided. Other than dealing with a receptionist who clearly didn't want to be there ( and I note other folk have made similar comments about this place) the place is excellent value for money.

The apartment was laid out in double floor connected with nice wooden stairs. We were in town to enjoy the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market). And this place was like home away from home. Relaxing in the whirlpool at the end of each winter day was a delight!

Nice apartment in a good location

This was a very comfortable apartment located within walking distance to the old and new town, and many restaurants. Even though our balcony looked over a large construction site, we were lucky that perhaps because our stay was over a weekend there was no activity occurring. The complex has its own underground parking facilities, which was ver convenient and reasonably priced (12 euro per day). The beds were comfortable, apartment clean and amenities in good condition.

Residenz am Zwinger is a very well appointed, comfortable apartment accomodation. It is directly located opposite the Zwinger palace, a five minute walk from the Semper Opera and the Schloss. Supermarkets, lovely coffee houses and restaurants are in the close vicinity.
The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful speaking perfect English. The room seemed brand new, everything was impeccably clean. Very pleasant bathroom with separate toilet.
If you arrive by train, the tramway number 11 will take you directly in front of the hotel.
Dresden is a beautiful city despite the war damage. There are still a lot of beautiful historical buildings and districts to explore. All people that we met were very friendly and helpful happy to speak English.
We recommend Residenz am Zwinger and would certainly go back there again.

Nice hotel but very small rooms

We were traveling with a 7 month old baby. The hotel provided a additional bed and a cot. It was very thoughtful however unnecessary as the extra bed made the room far to small.

The room was a double and had very little space. The lighting configuration and glass walls to the shower means that if you want light in the bathroom the whole bedroom gets flooded with light. Not the best for your sleeping partner and baby.

The rooms are very very small and it is not pleasant to spend time in the space. Made worse by an extra single bed. We asked for the bed to be removed and it was not.

The room service menu is far to expensive. However the breakfast buffet was to a high standard.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times.

The cups in the room were dirty and had coffee stains.

Overall I would not travel there again with a young baby and partner, but it would be suitable to a single person on a business trip (as long as you didn't need working space in your apartment.)

We had a very satisfactory 4 night stay in these brand new apartments. Ours was their ‘basic’ level, but we were extremely impressed. The location is excellent - just across the road from the Zwinger and the hop on - hop off bus stop. Easy 5-10 minute walk to all Dresden’s other attractions, & about 15 minutes from the railway & bus stations.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished, with a full kitchen, incl. oven, microwave, dishwasher & washing machine. Location is pretty quiet and the free WiFi was very good. The double bed is a wall bed, so you do have to pull it up & down each night.
On the 5th floor, you can have free coffee, soft drinks, beer & wine until 4pm daily (though you have to drink them 5here!).
Note that whilst the reception closes at 7pm, if you arrive after that they leave the key for you. Also get a free map @ reception, as the tourist office charges 1 euro for them!
Would definitely seek to stay here again should we return to Dresden, and would recommend to anyone looking for an apartment/aparthotel.

Huge room, far exceeded expectations. One bedroom apartment with two bathrooms. Very modern equipment. Kitchen well supplied with pots, pans, utensils. Staff were very helpful and responsive to any problems such as explaining how the washing machine/drier worked as it only had German instructions.

One thing. you should be aware of is that the reception closes at 19:00, so if you are arriving after that time, you should contact the hotel beforehand to arrange how to check in.

Great location across the street from the Zwinger. Our room was a studio apartment with a pull-down bed and full kitchen. This is a condo building, not a full-service hotel, so you'll have to walk a couple blocks for breakfast or lunch. But they were very helpful. When I left my iPad in my room, I called them from out next stop and they mailed it back to our home in the U.S.

Good hotel near gallery

My wife and I stayed at Zwinger for 3 days in August 2017.
Pros: The hotel was amazingly close to the Dresden Picture Gallery – we could see its buildings from the balcony.
The hotel is actually an ‘extended stay’. So, for very reasonable money you get a great studio with a fridge and washer/dryer, though a bit small.
Interior: open concept, sparkling black and white modern look, very clean.
The ladies at the reception were very helpful. They spoke English, German, and Russian, gave us a free map, and printed out our boarding passes for us.
However, they work untill 7PM, so you cannot check-in later.
There are tram stops nearby, a great Russian restaurant, and shopping/food mall on Postplatz.
Cons: Our room was facing the street and it got noisy when we opened our floor-to-ceiling windows. So, we aired the room while we were away. It was just fine with windows closed.

Great location, nice apartment

This is more of a rented apartment than a hotel. Overall, the experience was good. The room was very nice, comfortable, and spacious for a studio, everything was brand new and clean when I arrived. Little things like a faulty kettle were promptly taken care of. The staff was efficient and helpful, there is a tablet that you can use to chat with reception.
There was a complete set of dishes, tea and coffee, a dishwasher and a washing machine. I requested an iron and it was brought the next morning.

There is a very nice lounge on the top floor with a rooftop terrace, where you can have complimentary coffee/tea/drinks in the morning and daytime. The view of the Zwinger and surroundings is beautiful!

Some things I can complain about:
They claim the rooms are cleaned on a weekly basis, I stayed 8 nights and did not get a cleaning.
The corridor near the restaurant smelled like dead fish, it got better after we told someone at the reception.
There was construction going on across the yard from my room, I was told it was not going to be loud as they are working inside the building, but it was loud. Trying to focus on work to the sound of a grinder is not my favorite thing.
There is no air-conditioning, it does get hot in Dresden for some time every year and I happened to stay in the hotel at that time. I am surprised such a new building did not have any air-conditioning, a fan in the room would have made it much better. The upstairs lounge turns into a greenhouse on a sunny day.

This is an amazing bargain for a European city. The location is just on the edge of the Altstadt, just across from the Zwinger. The tram runs right in front of the hotel for easy access to Dresden and the train stations. The room itself was spotless and well equipped. Everything seemed like new. A fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, balcony, and room safe in a spacious, tastefully decorated studio apartment were everything we needed to make our stay lovely.

We stayed for five nights at the Residenz am Zwinger and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect and the rooms are generously sized. The staff is kind. The restaurant is fantastic and the views are amazing from the roof. From here, you'll find restaurants and shopping, and public transportation is very nearby. In less than 10 minutes, you can go many places in Dresden, including Neustadt. I definitely recommend staying here. We traveled all over Germany, and this was our favorite place to stay.

Amazing condo downtown

The place was bright and clean and very large. My unit had a Jacuzzi tub and a sauna in the master bedroom bathroom. Extremely spacious. The staff were incredibly kind. You can't beat the location - it is right downtown where all the sites are. Everything is in walking distance. Cheaper than a hotel and you get sooooo much more. Id stay there again in a heartbeat.

New apartments near attractions

Stayed here for 4 nights. We were given a spacious new apartment on the top floor. It had 2 bathrooms which was a nice surprise.
We found that the safe was code locked and we had to go and see reception 3 times to get it reset (because there was only 1 person working at the front desk, she was unable to leave her post). This was inconvenient and we didn't have a working safe until the 2nd day.

Also, we requested an iron from the front desk but no one brought it up. We asked again on the second day and still no iron. In the end, we just wore clothes that didn't need ironing as the iron never arrived. This was very inconvenient.

Also, the blinds of the apartment are on the outside of the building. As it was quite windy, the blinds kept hitting the windows which was rather noisy at night.

In summary, a very nice place that was let down by some very simple things. It seemed like the place was understaffed and the front desk did the best they could.

Dresden in December can be miserable weather wise, and it was when we arrived...and we arrived to a brand new, luxuriously finished and equipped 700 or sqft one room apartment with a sizeable balcony directly opposite Dresden's Zwinger. All necessary kitchen appliances (fridge, dish washer, 4-flame cook top, cutlery, pots and pans and a service for four) were there, so was an almost kingsize, comfortable murphybed, a separate toilette and a bathroom with a washer/dryer laundry combination and a shower which once under it you wouldn't want to leave. What made it even better was that your car was securely in the garage under the building to which only you and the staff had access.

Of all places we visited on our 5-week trip trough Germany this is the one that stood out

The apartment was fantastic - plenty of space for a family of five. Staff made every accommodation necessary, including a baby crib and breakfast vouchers. Brand new facility with modern fixtures, great lighting, comfortable beds, and tile floors and bathrooms/WC. Kitchen has everything you need for basic meal preparations, including water kettle and coffee maker. Location couldn't be better - walking distance markets, churches and other sightseeing with a tram stop just outside the door. Across from a park and the Zwinger.

Toller Aufenthalt mit zentraler Lage

Moderne und grosse Appartements. Wunderbar für Aufenthalte von mehreren Nächten. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder, bei unserem nächsten Besuch, in Dresden zurück.

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Gesicherte Tiefgarage im Haus, mit direkten Durchgang zum Fahrstuhl. Die Unterkunft war modern und schick eingerichtet. Und auch sehr sauber. Es gab eine voll ausgestattete Küche. Uns fehlte nur ein paar größere Schüsseln, z.B. für Salat. Wir hatten zu zweit ein 1 Zimmer Appartement, das sehr geräumig und groß war. Es gab einen großen Balkon. Allerdings lag das Zimmer zur Straße raus, dadurch war die Lärmbelästigung durch Busse, Straßenbahn und Autos bis zum späten Abend erhöht. Die Lage ist allerdings perfekt. Alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in wenigen Gehminuten erreichbar. Es gibt ausreichend Restaurants, Cafés und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt in der Nähe. Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Allerdings würde ich beim nächsten Mal ein Appartement buchen, dass nach innen zum Hof raus geht.

The best accommodation in Dresden. Located in the center, close to everything. Quiet and serene. Affordable. Clean rooms and excellent service. Parking below the appartments. Balcony with a fine view of the garden. Even the weather was perfect - and so was Dresden.

Schöne, zentral gelegene Appartements

Relativ neue Appartments. Sehr schön eingerichtet, große Räume (hier 2 Raum-Appartment, rund 60qm). Perfekte Lage um Dresden (insbesondere die Altstadt) zu erkunden.
Im Haus befindet sich ein türkischer oder arabischer (halal) Lebensmittelmarkt. Ein REWE ist nur 250m entfernt.
Nur Endreinigung im Preis enthalten, aber bei Bedarf kann ein Staubsauger an der Rezeption ausgeliehen werden. Besen und Kehrblech gibt es in der Wohnung, sowie Spielmittel, Handtuch und Spülmaschinentabs.
Stabmixer und Mixbecher gibt es nicht. Als Kaffemaschine gibt es nur eine kleine Nespresso. Ein Wasserkocher ist vorhanden. Kein DVD oder Musikanlage vorhanden. TV ist groß und gut, mit vielen Sendern.

Negativ ist lediglich der Besuch der Silberfische, insbesondere im Bad, was schon in einer Rezension angemerkt wurde. Zudem sind die Toilettensitze sehr niedrig - gut für Kinder, aber schlecht für Senioren.

Wir waren am Wochenende für zwei Nächte in Dresden. Das Apartment war sehr, sehr sauber und perfekt ausgestattet. Alles im besten Zustand. Mit Sauna, Whirlpool, 2 Duschen, Küche, Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine, Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Mikrowelle, Backofen, Herd, Balkon. Besteck und Geschirr waren auch sehr sauber. Wir sind absolut begeistert und können die Residenz am Zwinger wärmstens empfehlen!

Hallo,
wir waren sehr zufrieden mit allem.
Kleine Anmerkungen hätten wir dennoch: wir haben das Bügeleisen vermisst und es waren ein paar Silberfische unterwegs.

Ótima estadia.

Muito bom e bem localizado. Recepcionista muito atenciosa. Cama confortável. Como estava aparentemente com pouco ocupacao, ganhamos um upgrade sem sequer pedir. A passos do Palácio Zwinger e demais atrações da Altstadt.
