Got a junior suite, room was dated. Bathroom was pretty small. Carpet cmahould have been replaced a few years ago. Bedding and bed were fine. Seems like this place was built during soviet times but it's a solid 3/3.5 stars. Ate dinner at the restaurant once and it was pretty good.

Stayed for 2 nights. Property is a bit older, but most of it is still in decent conditions. Price is good for the value. But:
My main 2 issues:
Internet is extremely bad.
Gym is in same building and looks amazing, but it is 5 euro per day, which was not as advertised on expedia.
I had 2 stays booked but changed hotel for these two issues

The reataurant is quite nice with nice staff.
Hotel is close enough to ammenities ( altestadt is walkable, the soccer stadium is walkable and ther is a grocery store a couple of minutes walk.

Overall, if you dont care about a bit older hotel, bad internet and don't use the gym, this could be a pretty good hotel for you

I couldnt find the climate control as the air was very dry. I woke up multiple times that night due to a sore throat.
The lamp on my nightstand was in a not ideal condition as the casing began to dismantle.

Good location. 15 minutes walk from Zentrum. 5 minutes walk from Ralf Harbig Stadion to see Dynamo Dresden. 5 minutes walk from big park. Tram stop right outside the front of the hotel.

There was no air conditioning, very shocking for a \"4 star hotel\". Wouldn't stay here had I known but didn't think I had to check. There was still 10 minutes before close for the restaurant but they wouldn't serve us so we had to order to the hotel. Stay somewhere nicer.

A nice 5 story hotel with ample elevators, windows that open, and a pleasant, helpful staff. It is a downtown hotel so you might want to use ear plugs if you are leaving the windows open. The hotel is a short walk to the beautiful old part of town. It has ample parking underground. The rooms are comfortable and well designed

A convenient hotel

A 2 night break in a modern building. Convenient for the Old Town with a tram stop right outside. Despite a notice on the door asking for room service in the morning, the notice was put in the room but the room hadn’t been cleaned or the bed made when we were out. Reception staff were helpful and at least one spoke good English. Breakfast was excellent.

No aircon , we were there and it was around 27 degrees in the day the room was so hot at night and there was no aircon
Opened window and the noise from outside was very load
Pillows are also an issue they are soft and disappear when you put your head on them

Almost a good stay - shame about the pillows!

Generally the hotel is very clean and staff are generally friendly. My colleague had a bad experience with the bar staff though, stating they were quite abrupt and unfriendly. Beds are quite hard and the pillows are very uncomfortable. Your head sinks through the entire pillow. I stayed 3 nights and didn’t sleep well at all, due to the pillows. It’s a shame as other than this, it could have been a nice stay. They definitely need to invest in some better pillows!!

Location was good.
I had believed that my booking included breakfast in n the rate ( this was my intention when booking)) although my confirmation did not mention breakfast either way ,there was a list of other exclusions. Breakfast was denied in a way I found embarrassing.
Secondly, room housekeeping was very poor ,on this occasion,coffee and tea was not filled up .

Bad rooms and very bad service.

Had the a very bad experience at the hotel and even worse attitude from the employees and the manager.
The rooms have no AC in them, and they charge extra money for the parking.
I left the hotel after just 1 night and still they charged me for all the nights with a very very bad attitude.
0 customer service there, would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Nice hotel with a hop on hop off stop at the door.

We were only here for a night. The room was ok but didn't have a kettle for coffee making. When we asked for one, that said that would require a room upgrade. They have a restaurant but it had a very limited menu. Saying that, the food and service was lovely.

Pool & Spa were shut for renovations which was a dissapointment but there is a water park not far away in front of the SG Dresden stadium about 5/10 mins walk from hotel George Ahnol Leisure Pool opposite Deutshe Hygeiene Museum at the back of the hotel

Lounge bar food was very good as was the service but the main restaurant with its buffet was mostly empty possibly because the range of food offered was not great. One meat dish! Overall not that impressed for the money.

Great stay. Easy check in. Parking was not too hard to find, but could have been marked more clearly. The hotel staff was great in getting us info about taking a short walking tour of the city early Saturday morning, via Tram. Breakfast was awesome and even my grandson liked the various choices.

Decent if you need to stay close to downtown.

A few tram stops from the action and a decent clean place. Probably could use an update in decor but the staff were not rude.
Only thing I hated was that the fist person did. I check me in all the way, so after returning from a long day I had to wait for another staff memeber to check me in again.

Nice hotel with good transport links

It's a very nice hotel overall. I liked everything about it except for the bed/pillows that I didn't find all that comfortable (the pillows were too flat, and the bed, a little hard). Also, it was rather hot on one of the days I was there. If you open the window it's too noisy as the hotel is on a main road and there was no air conditioning. However, this was not a major problem for me. There is a tram station just across the street which is very handy and the city centre is just two stops away. Mind you, if I go back to Dresden for tourism, I'd probably want to be in the city centre itself (to be closer to the tourist attractions, the restaurants and shops). For the purpose of this trip, however, the hotel's location suited me well.

A great location, comfortable and attractive hotel. Splendid breakfast. Parking was good, though we paid extra. Parking on the street at 4 euros a day was a good choice as it was closer than the parking in the back at 7euros a day. Or we could have paid 15 e for the underground parking. We were close to main transportation routes and great shopping!

The main restaurant closed throughout weekdays. Only food available in evening was from limited menu at the bar. Over the years such niceties as a welcome selection of fruit and bottle of water for regular visitors have been discontinued Same day laundry service no longer available. All in all the room prices no longer reflect such good value as before.

very pleasant! helpful reception staff, great breakfast buffet, hotel room was large and comfortable, really nice bathroom with great tub if you need to soak a while; adequate wifi. this was a very comfortable stay and I would definitely stay here again and certainly recommend it. Ate in restaurant twice- very good. I walked to this hotel from main train station when I arrived in Dresden (15 - 20 mins) but now know how to take the streetcar to it... so many great things to see here- didn't have enough time... next time I'll visit in late summer or early autumn.

Decent, clean and quiet hotel in nice location in walking distance to the city. Fast check-in and out. The room has very good acustic confort, spacious bathroom with amenities. Only complain is about beds what could be soft for someone. The breakfast is superb with wide choice of cheese, fresh made eggs and bakery products.

Not what we expected

Maybe we were expecting too much, but the hotel is very dated, especially the interior décor. Rooms are a good size but the air con is centrally controlled and nights were hot whilst we were there. Having a front faced room, the road and tramline are noisy if you open the window. The staff were generally OK, but it was not easy to get their attention in the restaurant. The pool is tiny and breakfast is expensive at €19.50 per person. We had 5 in our family staying in 2 rooms.
The location is good, next to the tramline or a 15 minute walk to the old town.

The gym wasn't great either. The person serving drinks At the pool was unfriendly and brusque. The sauna had a no clothes policy, which was great for the 70 year old men!

Modern hotel with attentive staff close to center.

Modern with nice restaurant and bar and the front-desk staff are very helpful. Within walking distance of the old downtown of Dresden or that area is accessible by a tramline in front of hotel. No complaints! It was a nice stay and good value for the money.

Good hotel for a meeting.

Good conference facilities for the 2 day meeting I attended. Food was nice as well. Took the hop-on hop-off tour of Dresden, which stops outside the hotel, it was a great way to get an appreciation of the city in a couple of hours.

The heating in the bathroom was inoperable and the toiletry box was empty. Housekeeping and cleaning staff brought the toiletry items on second day. we had to lift up the blackout curtains onto the window sill in order to get the room warm.

Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig, viel Auswahl. Supermärkte etwa 500 m entfernt, ins Zentrum auch nur wenige Gehminuten.
Die Zimmer könnten etwas sauberer sein, teilweise staubig. Leider befand sich auch keine Steckdose in Bettnähe, das hat gefehlt, ansonsten waren die Zimmer aber okay.

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel, der Service war sehr gut. Zimmer einwandfrei, Frühstück hervorragend. Parken in der Tiefgarage mangelhaft, da die reservierten Parkplätze für Menschen mit Beh. Parkausweis von anderen belegt waren. Es gibt keine Erfassung der pol. Kennzeichen.
Trotz Hinweisen an der Rezeption wurde das Problem nicht gelöst. Beim einchecken gab es Probleme mit bereits bezahlt bei Expedia und angelegten Nachweis.

Freundliches Personal. Sauberes Zimmer. Das Frühstück war super. Es gab frisch zubereitete Rühreier, Würstchen, Spiegelei, Bratkartoffeln….gute Auswahl auch bei Brot,Aufschnitt usw. Tische werden schnell sauber gemacht.
Zu Nikolaus stand sogar eine kleine Überraschung vor der Tür 😊 wir waren rundum zufrieden und können das Hotel weiterempfehlen. Nur ein kleiner Manko…..die Kopfkissen sind zu weich. Wir hatten schon 2 übereinander, aber auch das war nicht besser.

Während meines Aufenthalts im Dorint Hotel Dresden kam es zu einem Vorfall, den ich als gravierend sicherheitsrelevant einstufe:
Nach einer von mir ausdrücklich autorisierten Zimmerbegehung durch das Housekeeping fand ich meine Zimmertür bei meiner Rückkehr offen und unverschlossen vor – obwohl ich das Zimmer zuvor ordnungsgemäß abgeschlossen hatte. Für mich ist das ein elementares Sicherheitsproblem.

Was den Aufenthalt jedoch endgültig negativ geprägt hat, war der anschließende Umgang der Hotelleitung mit meiner Beschwerde. Im Schriftverkehr wurde der Sachverhalt vollständig auf ein „menschliches Versagen“ einer einzelnen Mitarbeiterin reduziert. Auf meine Nachfrage nach den organisatorischen Abläufen, die ein solches Versäumnis hätten verhindern sollen, wurde mir lediglich mitgeteilt, dass man mir keinerlei Einblick geben könne. Gleichzeitig blieb unklar, ob es tatsächlich verlässliche Kontrollmechanismen gibt, die sicherstellen, dass ein einzelner Fehler nicht unmittelbar zu einer offenen Hotelzimmertür führt.

Die Antworten des Managements empfand ich als formelhaft, ausweichend und unvollständig. Auf konkrete Fragen zu strukturellen Sicherheitsmaßnahmen wurde nicht eingegangen. Stattdessen wurde mehrfach betont, es habe sich um einen absoluten Einzelfall gehandelt – ohne jede nachvollziehbare Erklärung, wie dies nachvollziehbar ausgeschlossen werden soll.

Somit kommt dieses Hotel für zukünftige Aufenthalte in Dresden für mich nicht mehr in Betracht.
