If you are booking primarily for location, this hotel is a winner. It is the closest non-Universal hotel to the parks with a dedicated walkway that runs parallel to Universal’s own path. It’s a leisurely 20-minute walk to CityWalk, which is much easier than dealing with shuttles.

Unfortunately, the hotel itself is incredibly dated and doesn’t look much like the images you see online.
The maid service however was very reliable, which we appreciated. We had clean towels delivered daily and our bed was made up every evening.

Overall a good budget option!

We went to the dining room and they sat us down.
We chose the buffet not realizing it was $30 a person until I got the bill.
I had an egg white omelette with water and my son had 6 little waffles with OJ, after an added gratuity it was $72.

My room was not what I expected. My sheets had stains on them, so I requested new ones, but the sheets they gave me also had stains. The shower lining had mold at the bottom. One of the elevators stopped working on our side of the building.

However, the staff was amazing, super friendly, and super nice, going above and beyond. We appreciate Edward's help with getting us clean linen.

I didn't know that they come in your room and make the bed. While we were out for today, I did not like that.
The carpet head stains on it. Out chairs were stained, but they do give you free bottles of water which was awesome, like I said, the staff. It was so amazing checking in and checking 'out.

Room was so so. Faucet leaked all over the counter, there no way they weren’t aware of this. Toilet runs 24/7 and needs flushed about 3 times each use. Cleanliness wasn’t horrible or great. No impressed. Parking was confusing and when I questioned it ar check in, she easily encouraged paying with the room for parking but provided no instructions how to get in / out - I travel a lot and wasn’t aware to use rook key for that. There was some type of construction going on. Breakfast was a bit over piece for buffet but service was great.

Great hotel. Clean, safe, great staff. Right across the street from Universal Studios with a walking bridge. Nice pool but a ton of kids so if you don't want to be around tons of kids in the lobby, pool, etc.., you may want to look elsewhere. The room were clean, shower was great, big spacious room. Pet friendly. Just a great hotel and a great experience for us staying here.

The staff was amazing, rooms were cleaned promptly everyday if needed. The pool was nice! The kitty pool was not filled all the way up and did not look clean. Splash pad was perfect. The hot tub was nice as well. I wish there was an adults only hot tub section. I wish the food was more reasonably priced so we didn’t have to leave to find cheaper. You also have to pay for parking per night.

The picture of this hotel are very generous to the actual state of the rooms. Our room was dank and wet smelling to the point it was uncomfortable to step on the carpet and the air was hard to breathe. There’s absolutely no circulation… no window to open, no vent in the bathroom, just stuck with wet feeling and smelling everything. It wasn’t the humidity, it was extremely poor circulation. We hung up a towel after a shower that didn’t dry for the 3 days we were there. On top of that, there was wear and tear throughout - chipped paint, scuffed and aged furniture, missing buttons on the phones, lights that didn’t work, rust and shoddy caulk in the shower, the list goes on. It was overall gross feeling. Also, I wouldn’t say this hotel was “steps” from the entrance to Universal. It’s across a very busy street to the road that leads to Universal, but you can’t actually enjoyably walk there… the hotel does have shuttles that you need to register forpo in advance.

The staff at check-in and breakfast were extremely friendly. Breakfast itself was alright, your typical eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, etc. The coffee cafe next door was also decent. The pools/splash pad/hot tubs are also showing their age. The ambiance is just not that great. You definitely don’t feel like you’re at a resort since the hotel is next to major highways and other hotels.

It's a high volume Orlando hotel in walking distance of the entrance to Universal, so you anticipate crowds and a little wear-and-tear. It has everything you need for a day or two at the parks.

The shuttle service is one amenity recommending getting on as soon as practicable, as we were not able to secure a spot. We ubered, and it was slightly more than the parking fee.

Jim in the dining area was amazing on both mornings. My kids loved the warm interaction you don't often see. Recommend asking to be seated in his area.

We ate both nights in the on-site F&B dinner option, American Grill. It left something to be desired. Maybe it's the auto-gratuity built in, but service was super slow, and food quality underwhelming.

Pools were fine for what we needed (large pool, hot tub) but nothing outstanding like a water slide, etc.

Finally, the arcade is super ripoff and recommend keeping your kids out of it. One of my kids slipped three tokens into the infamouse claw machine before I realized it was $1.67 per token (3 tokens for 20 credits). Surprised Hilton even allows that machine and that racket on property.

I have stayed in this hotel before and the main positive is that it is so close to universal. The walk is only 15 minutes. I found the hotel had slipped in standards from my last visit
The rooms are only routinely cleaned every 2 days and even then lots of things were missed out and i had to call the front desk to request towels etc.
The rooms are nice and spacious but walls are thin and there is a lot of noise from the elevators.
The check in was good and staff were friendly. The hotel lobby is good and spacious and the attractions desk was very helpful when trying to get park information and booking of shuttles
The breakfast was very good with the buffet well stocked however the omlette and waffle stations could get very busy.
The main issue this time around was the amount of young school children staying in thw hotel due to competitions being run there. On short there were hindreds of them and various schools and this led to a lot of noise in the corridors at night as they ran amok. The lifts in the hotel became like a park ride with a long wait time.
All in all its a nice hotel but i wouldnt rush back again.

Elevators were small and slow, had to use the stairs from the 10th floor a few times because the wait was over 10 minutes. Property inside was not well maintained. Rooms were nice and staff were helpful. On arrival at 6pm no rooms were available for us even though we booked one and had to wait a while for a room to be cleaned before getting it.

The pool,splash area and the hot tub were all really good. We spent hours there on some days.

We hadnt breakfast inckuded in the booking but decided to avail of it on our first morning and pay for it. It ended up costing $130 including tip for 2 adults and 2 children. Extremely expensive. That was the last morning we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Though I did ask for some refills on shower gel and conditioner that never came. The room was clean though everything felt just a little more used than other properties.

Initial feeling of disappointment as we entered the hotel. Fountain under construction and no sign of being worked on while we were there. The one day we were able to sit by the pool, all eateries were closed and didn’t open til 2pm. It was very disappointing. The elevator also wasn’t working well. After 5 yrs of staying there, we decided this would be our last. Overall the property is starting to look shabby

The room was clean and tidy. The view of Universal parks was accurate, and we were in the south tower so we were closer, but the park is barely noticeable at night, so it didn’t make a big difference.

We stayed with two nine year old boys and the walk to the parks was very nice. It was about a 2km walk and it took us 20 minutes. We originally thought the walking would save us time and money but the hotel charges 34 USD for parking, so we only saved a couple of dollars when compared to parking at Universal.

The pool was great. Lots of dining options on site as well which helped us out with dinner on our last night.

I had an amazing stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel was very clean and had a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that made the stay even more enjoyable.

The staff was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast, which was delicious and had a great variety of options.

I also want to give a special shoutout to the restaurant team—the service was truly top-notch and made our dining experience memorable.

Expedia advertised breakfast included but it was not. The walk to universal was easy but long when Expedia advertised about 7 min it’s actually about 30 min. Gratuity is enforced in restaurants (20%) so the waitstaff don’t really work for it anymore or provide decent service. It would’ve probably been cheaper overall to stay at the universal resort after additional costs/ lack of amenities

Great staff. Stay was very comfortable. Pleasantly surprised the room done neatly everyday. I would just ask the housekeeping folks to ensure the conditioner, body wash bottle is full. Day 1 conditioner bottle was already empty. Day 3 the body wash got over so took bath using the shampoo liquid...lol. Was too busy to inform the folks as these days rooms don't come equipped with hotel service phones to call.

The location was great. The rooms smelled musty and the water in shower dripped all night. The shower floor was flat and the entire bathroom got wet when you took a shower. The gift shop employee was rude, on his phone the whole time and didn’t greet or talk to customers. I asked a question and he looked annoyed and he had AirPods in.

The poolside seating was nicely spread out and comfortable. The lobby restaurant service was kind and professional. The food was excellent. My compliments to the front desk and restaurant staff.
Our family stayed in on two rooms and both of the rooms were adaquate. The rooms (#327 & #323) both shared a musty and damp odor. Best described as unpleasant. While this may have been the result of the most recent guests, it definitely should have been addressed prior to the rooms being rented to new guests.
This condition was brought to the attention of the front desk staff upon our check out the morning of 3/23. I can only hope that this condition has been addressed and a process has been put in place to avoid a repeat of this unfortunate situation.

Room was very tired and damaged. Worst of all was the bed linen and sheets. Very stained, something we only realised after day 3 when we tried to make up our own room because it hadn’t been serviced in 2 days, despite us asking. I complained about the duvet, was told it was due to being old and cleaned a lot, but it is clearly stained through body fluid. Very poor. The Supervisor on the reception was excellent, but she couldn’t do anything because it is a housekeeping dept issue. The head of housekeeping didn’t resolve the issue as he promised he would. He told me he would put new duvets on, but instead made the bed with an equally stained duvet. Very disappointed in Hilton. This is not what I expect from their brand. Hotel needs a major overhaul and revamp. I would also suggest some re-training. Final point, we had 3 people staying in the room, all paid for, but only ever got two cups, 2 towels etc. little thing, but shows the lack of attention to detail.

This hotel was one of the best I’ve stayed in, especially in FL. It’s just minutes away from Universal. The staff was super friendly, the grounds were well kept, and the food in the restaurant was good. I’m a pool snob, but I let my son swim in theirs. The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. I absolutely will stay here again.

Really good budget option for the parks, it has a shuttle and is a fairly nice hotel. We had poor experiences with the staff such as not being able to get ahold of the front desk when calling (ever) and weird situations with the housekeeping service (We had the do not come in sign on, they came in and moved our stuff but didn’t clean or make the bed, ended up ruining my contacts). But overall a good experience and would probably go back.

The staff was kind of poor. I asked for someone to come fix my tv an they said I’d be a priority, well I waited an no one ever came. I could never get thru to front desk I always had to walk down there. The ice machine on the 5th floor is broken an I had asked for ice 5 times in 2 days. Nobody ever brought any until I left a note for the housekeeper, an she got me some. When we first arrived on the 27th of March, there’s was strings of hair stuck to the bathroom shower wall. & no can liners in the trash cans. But housekeeping was amazing.

Unfortunately, our stay had several issues. The biggest concern was the bathroom — it was very old and there were cockroaches, which was really unacceptable. On top of that, the cleaning was not done properly. I noticed hairs on the bathroom walls, which made it feel unhygienic.
the clothing closet felt unusual, almost like it was built around an electrical unit, which was a bit odd.
Another major inconvenience was the parking. The garage door system was frustrating because the room keys didn’t work. We later found out that you have to call the hotel each time to get in or out.
The reception experience was also disappointing. They didn’t assist us until they saw an ID from the person who booked the room, which made things unnecessarily complicated.
And at the middle of the night something fell off while we were sleeping
