Great place to stay in Nusa Dua! Very affordable and close to the beach (walking distance)! Had to take points off for cleanliness (my room had bed bugs). Notified the staff and they quickly cleaned my room and resolved the issue! Would definitely stay here again in the future. The breakfast options were nice and varied from day to day. Loved the omelette station and staff!

Everything was great! A short 5 minute walk to the beach! Shuttle to shopping mall.
Massage excellent. I had two.
Nusa Dua has a small beach town vibe. Much prefer over other busy touristy places.

The conditioner was leaking a lot. The shower kept dripping all night I couldn’t sleep and it wouldn’t close. Window had a little opening that i could not close so we had a lizard and mosquito problem the whole night. The door was sooo hard to open every time I almost broke my hand. Literally worst place I stayed in. On the other hand the staff were really nice and helped us take care of the lizards and conditioner leaking.

Only thing I like at Whitz is staff service and landscaping in common area. The rest are very disappointing via conditions of hotel lack of attention of care. Towers are dirty, smelly as well as hair shampoo/conditioner. Lighting in the room is darker than typical hotel room.

I don’t often write a bad review, however this hotel requires a lot of work on the management and communications to staff.
We had a few issues, and gave up in the end and spent most of our time outside the hotel.
Firstly upon check in I was told breakfast was till 11am, I questioned this , as key card stated 10am
However was told the hotel is full, therefore they have extended, we arrive at 10.00am ,told breakfast ends 10am. So I didn’t get any breakfast for which I paid for, we spoke to manager and was told mis communication between staff, however it is meant to be 11am, they offered us lunch or dinner or room Upgrade. We went for complementary lunch , which was a 2 course set menu with only 2 choices, however the manager advised us we could choose from menu to a value of 150,000, I selected a meal which cost 190,000, I was happy to pay the difference, 30 mins after I ordered expecting my meal to be coming , waiter advised I was not permitted to select a higher meal and pay the difference, so I said but why have you taken 30 mins to tell
Me this , we gave up and went out for dinner as it was 9.30pm.
Second issue: we in our room after breakfast and outside they are fumigating, within 10 mins our room , hall way all
Outside area is full of smoke and smell , we cannot breathe or go outside, it was truly shocking.
Third issue, no pool towels
Although staff are apologetic there needs to be much improvement, grounds and pool are lovely and our room was fine.

The property is a little tired but the pool area was wonderful. Dining room and poolside care was average. Breakfast limited to the main dining room, whereas dinner was by the poolside. Menu was very limited.
The bathroom areas were not very well cleaned.
However, the beautiful staff were very helpful and ready to assist.

The property is so clean and new. The breakfast was nice with a choice of different hot and cold food. The swimming pool was clean. The hotel offers you 2hours free bicycle. The only thing is the property was so quiet. We would suggest some local cooking classes or events at night to be held at the property taking into account that the Nusa Dua Area is private and not having beach parties. We had to go to other hotels for entertainments. Apart from that it is good place for couples.

Good facilities, friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms, great pool and restaurants were good value for money serving tasty food. Breakfast was also very good. Overall our expectations were exceeded. Only criticisms are that the aircon was not as cooling as could be, the fridge didn't chill the water enough and the shower head wasn't working efficiently. However, these are minor issues and didn't stop us having a very enjoyable stay.

Certainly is a well kept property, beautiful setting! The first room was a bit dated. Shower didn’t work properly. Somethings in the room should have been renewed. There isn’t a bedside lamp, which should be a must. We were Celebrating our 37th Wedding Anniversary and I had requested an upgrade in advance. When we arrived, they showed us the standard room. Which was right in the back end of the hotel. It was very small and in a dingy location. I didn’t want to disappoint my wife, so I upgraded the room. Which cost over $700.00 which I thought was absolutely ridiculous! But I wanted to give my wife a special memory. I was extremely disappointed with the staff members who were ‘duty Managers’ who couldn’t give me just a reasonable discount! It’s the first and last time I will use this method of booking a holiday through Wotif. My wife didn’t know that I had spent this amount of money, we have been saving to take this well deserved holiday and I was just so unhappy that we received a hand held fan and a couple of slices of cake as a token for our 37th Anniversary! Extremely disappointed!

Fantastic staff, small quiet hotel by Nusa Dua standards. It’s a 4 minute walk through an alley way between the Sofitel and Club Med to the beach. The pool stretches over 50 metres in front of the rooms so you can do a decent swim. Food was lovely, service was exceptional. It is in Nusa Dua so expect manicured lawns, pavements you can walk/cycle on and shuttle buses to expensive shopping/restaurant villages rather than the chaos of normal Bali.

The hotel is really nice, very clean and the staff are great. The pool and the rooms are very nice and a great way to spend time in the sun. The private beach for the hotel is ok, nothing special, but the location is great. You can walk to the beach and then walk all around Nusa Dua, which is really nice.

The only bit great part about the hotel was the WiFi, it was really slow in the room. I hardly used my
Phone, but to check emails or go on Instagram I went out to the lobby. Other than that it’s a perfect place to stay!

Staff were very lovely and helpful. The rest was not the best. It’s a very budget hotel and you get what you pay for. Hotel needs a serious revamp. Rooms were small, bathroom was extremely small, like had to shimmy past the toilet when getting out of the shower small and I’m a rather slim person! Not very clean and bits of dodgy patch up work done in the rooms, beds were hard and the pool was not very clean and the pool water was very warm! We were here for Nyepi day and not much was explained before hand about what was on offer for the day. Have been for Nyepi day a long time ago and things have changed a lot. We had to be in our rooms at 6pm with all lights out, I don’t mind because it’s respect for their culture but if I’d known before our stay how different it was going to be I wouldn’t have stayed for Nyepi. We weren’t allowed to take food back to our room after breakfast/lunch/dinner even though we had paid for the buffet. Have never had an issue with this in the past in other hotels in Indonesia. Honestly wouldn’t stay here again.

Comfortable and clean within a gated community which does not have peddlers pushing sales except at the areas of significance (eg water sports). Pity the pool didn't have swim up bar. Annoying earlier risers claim the beds and are not there all day to use them. Staff were lovely. Disappointed with the restaurant meal. Awesome cocktail and Mocktail menus. Overall price meets expectations.

Beautiful Hotel, Not for the beach

The hotel itself is beautiful, and very much worth the price versus the other hotels in the Nusa Dua area. The ambiance is very relaxing, beautiful pool, and the rooms are clean and spacious.
My only complaint is the beach access. It's a bit of a walk from the hotel, which is fine and expected. But once you do get to the beach, there was no markings or assistance from anyone from the hotel on where you can stay. We ended up going to a wrong area and were told to leave since it wasn't for our hotel. Furthermore, we forgot to bring beach towels to cover the extremely hot lounge chair cushions, and since to get said towels from the lobby would be quite a trek back and forth, we just opted to walk around. This took away from our experience quite a bit. Better to just stay in the hotel pool, which thankfully is beautiful and quite spacious. Still, I hope they can improve on their guests' beach experience.

I LIKED the long, slim swimming pool, the tranquil music, the friendly and humble people, staff efficiency, the ambience

There was a small earthquake whilst we were there and the staff immediately implemented evacuation and crowd control in a friendly, controlled manner. Future tenants should not worry though- that part of Bali does not experience big earthquakes and never tsunamis. The ground just trembled a bit for a few seconds- putting a dancing step into your stride :)

Nice area around the pool, with bar and food service throughout the day. However rooms need upgrading, lots of ants in both rooms. We asked for interconnecting rooms and twin beds in one of the rooms and neither of the requests were fulfilled. Also advised that it was a special birthday during our stay and they stated would provide a cake, again this never happened.
Need to focus more on customer service. No money changing facilities at hotel, but they were installing an ATM as we were leaving. Overall not too, however would probably not stay at this hotel again.

This hotel was fantastic!
We got free upgrade for Deluxe room.
Staff members are so nice and food at the restaurant is very delicious.
We ate almost all meals at the hotel because they are so good and convenient.
We strongly recommend this hotel and when we are in the area, we definitely come back again.
The pool was nice as well.
Our 2nd upgrade was pool access room.
We could enter the pool directly from our room, it was very special.
They provide free bottle water every day.

It was a pleasant stay however my working air conditioner did not operate optimally as the swivel mechanism was faulty. The lighting in the rooms are very dim and should be a whole lot brighter. My fridge was also faulty and did not get as cold as it should so was unable to cool anything.

The hotel is at the great location. It's closed to the Convention Centre. Room is clean and staff are very helpful and friendly. They had hospitality. I surprisingly got a birthday cake when I stayed there!

At first we’re so excited because they told us that they have upgraded my room from superior room to premiere room. But when we stayed at that room, there was no hot water at all. So we have to take a bath in cold water. Also the water was not running smoothly. Overall the bathroom experience makes us not unconfortable to stay longer despite they have upgraded our room.

Comfortable quiet hotel with beach access closeby.

Meal prices in the hotel were cheaper than nearby restaurants. An hourly shuttle bus goes to a nearby shopping mall that has a variety of restaurants and one main department store. All catering to western standards and prices. The hotel itself is relatively new. Our bathroom was suffering a little with poor drainage in the shower and a constant odour from the drain. The bed was huge with an extremely firm mattress but was restful nevertheless. Room overlooked a garden and was very private. The floor needed mopping rather than just sweeping as our feet always felt they were sticky with dust and grit. The hotel staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. All were well groomed and displayed the Balinese gentleness and grace.

Inexpensive Nusa Dua accommodation

This hotel was disappointing off the start. We arrived and the guy checking is in kept answering the phone and talking to other customers. It took half hour or more and there were 2 other staff standing behind the desk but they didn't help other customers only he did.
The grounds/pool was nice, breakfast and pool bar area was also nice. Room service was quick but the food was lack luster. Prices for drinks were rediculose. Breakfast came with our room but day 3 was the last time i ate it because it was the same thing every day, with only 1 guy cooking 2 eggs at a time. So slow.
After we checked in someone escorted us to our \"suite\" which was not a suite, just a slightly bigger hotel room but nothing fancy about it. It actually smelled like a men's urinal so I called to complain at the first desk. They said to come down they would show me a different room. I went right down there and they said no sorry we can spray your room with frebreeze and see if it still smells bad tomorrow. We got one of the most expensive rooms and they don't even care if we are happy.
Beds were super hard, you can ask for a pillow top to be added which helps a bit.
Lastly I booked one more night in a non suite because it's not worth the upgrade, within half hour decided to change my plans. I asked the hotel to cancel but they said expedia had to and if expedia could they would ok it. I emailed expedia and asked them, they looked into itwith the hotel and said they had to charge me.
Dissatisfied.

Decent hotel elevated by Balinese hopitality

Stayed here for a week. I got a deluxe room which was affordable and decently sized. However, note that this room was on the corner of the building so it was bigger than most of the regular deluxe rooms. Saw the other deluxe rooms and I agree with most reviewers that they were very small. My room was great but the sewage pipe outside really stank up the room at odd hours. The staff offered to move me but the alternative they offered was much smaller so I ended up staying in my room. The room also has no main light fixtures in both the main room and the bathroom so the room was dark and gloomy and I had to ask for a lamp. The room service, staff, and general area more than made up for it though. I loved the pool which was absolutely pristine and the beach was quite alright. Breakfast always had enough options for everyone so that was lovely. This area in Nusa Dua is fantastic for walking and running since the foot paths are clean and well planned. I loved walking around and the hotel also has a bicycle rental service close by. There's a hotel shuttle that brings you to Bali Collection almost hourly. If you want to up your ambience, you can always get a day pass at Club Med Bali or go to any of the other hotel restaurants. Uber isn't allowed to pick up in this area though so you can either walk or rent a bicycle to get around if you won't use busses or shuttles. Overall, the staff is really what makes this place memorable. I would come back again regardless of my complaints.

Nice and friendly staff. However, I encountered a bad room with a leak aircon. Even after the engineers fixed it, they it still leaked. They offered to change my rooms. But not only was it stuffy on the second level, it wasn't as convenient and accessible as the room I had, which was right at the front. So I dealt with a leaking aircon throughout my stay at the hotel. Enjoyed the complimentary shuttle service to and fro the hotel though.

Stayed at Grand WHiz to attend a conference at the nearby Sofitel. It was affordable and exceeded expectations for its price. Staff were very lovely and friendly and the hotel has all needed conveniences.

Great resort for the price

No issues expect check in.... they couldn't find my booking thru expedia. Had to wait 1.5hrs to get checked in and finally they just got us in the room.

Excellent Stay - great value for the money for this little gem amongst other local luxury resorts - Staff very nice and helpful, near the beach. Great little restaurant and bar - Would very much recommend to anyone!!

Hidden Gem in Nusa Dua

We really enjoyed our stay at Grand Whiz we were so surprised to find such a great priced hotel at Nusa Dua. The pool was great, our room was very big and comfortable with a large bathroom with walk in shower and toiletries. The room was a bit dark for reading but I had a book light so was alright, I always take book light. We were on the first floor with a balcony looking over the pool which was very nice. Plenty of pool beds also. Breakfast was alright, catered to Indonesians more than westerners but still found plenty to eat. Good wifi. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Italian restaurant near pool had the best pizzas went there twice in our 5 day stay. Would stay here again

Good Value in Luxurious Nusa Dua area of Bali

Best Value for Nusa Dua area as I found. The Nusa Dua area of Bali is like one big elite private Country Club. I was there for Conference, and many colleagues also chose same residence and were happy.

Good for short break

Hotel ok for a short break, restaurant food very good, staff overall very friendly, the night staff not very helpful, arrive very late I ask for special rate for early check in and offer me more than the value of the room I was going to pay. I wait at the lobby more than 6 hours to get my room, meanwhile early in te morning I book 3 hours massage was fantastic, spa is amazing and reasonable price.

Lovely staff, room was clean and comfortable,

We stayed in a king size bed room which was clean and comfortable. Staff is excellent. The only thing is that there is a 300m walk to the beach, but again it was clean and we felt safe walking to the beach. There are courtesy buses to Bali collection and push bikes which you can take for the first hour for free and then $2.50 per hour.

There are fantastic resorts in Nysa Dua but the grand whiz is a bargain!
