Has put us off ibis styles hotels

Entrance to property hard to find and had to go round 3 times.
Property run down and no way near the standard of other ibis styles we have stayed in.
Room dirty and unhygenic (linen and towels clean). Dirty carpet, dirty toilet floor, dirt in bathroom and dirt on the walls.
Didnt get the room that was booked and hence the ammenities expected.
Secure underground parking available.
Bed not comfortable.
Breakfast - continental and satisfactory, nothing special.

I recently stayed at a property booked through Wotif.com, and I must say it fell far short of my expectations. The images on the website did not accurately represent the state of the property. It was in a very dilapidated condition, and there were several issues that left me disappointed.

Upon arriving, I noticed flashing lights in the hallway outside our room, which was quite unsettling. The bathroom had noticeable cracks in the screen, and there were questionable stains on the carpet. Shoddy repair work was also evident around the door frame in the bathroom. To add to the frustration, there were no information booklets in the room for contacting reception.

Our room's cleanliness left much to be desired as well. Our rubbish was not cleared on the first day, and even the basic amenity of soap wasn't topped up. Surprisingly, there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room, which is quite standard in most accommodations.

Furthermore, the phone in the room had a persistent static cracking line, making it difficult to use. The children's area was also disappointing, as it lacked any toys, and the wallpaper in various parts of the property had been ripped off.

One of the most frustrating moments of our stay was when we arrived at 1 am, only to find that the hotel did not have my booking in their system. Strangely, they had the booking of a traveling companion who we had booked for in the same reservation. This lack of organization and communication was highly inconvenient.

Hotel is a nightmare. 35 C degrees outside and Air-condition is not working on the top floor. Mouldy bathroom tiles. Only see through curtains on windows. Window open only fully so cant leave open all night . Charged full price. Hotels.com sent us credit coupon as hotel refused any reduction in price. Avoid the place.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

My experience with the hotel was really terrible as when I arrived with my family at the hotel 7 in the morning after a delayed flight they informed me that my booking with the hotel had been cancelled. I was shocked as in line with their late arrival policy I had phoned as well as emailed to let them know of my late arrival. Thus, I had to speak to the manager to sort out the issue which after an hour finally got sorted. Unfortunately the rooms that we had originally booked had been provided to someone else so we got different rooms that was not very convenient especially if you are travelling as a family. Moreover, they informed us that we would have to pay for our rooms again despite us paying the full fee of both rooms to Hotel.com. However, after serious questioning and an hours wait they finally found the payment of one room. But, I told them that we had booked 2 rooms under the same booking which they then found. Then we were finally able to get breakfast and check into our rooms. This was a very
disappointing experience as I had a 2 year old child with me.

Shower took a long time to get hot water. Beds were comfy. Be aware even in summer, there are limited dining options nearby. The breakfast was ok although limited. No GF options and staff member was grumpy and overworked. Eggs werenot ready when I turned up for my breakfast and coffee machine only would make hot chocolate!
Its these little things that make your stay and they were missing!

I stayed there a few years ago and it was really good and on same assumption I went again but it was complete and utter disaster from day one. Staff unprofessional. The breakfast was terrible and cherry on the top the breakfast lady could only moan in French at customers and all the time she will deliberately clanking plates and cutlery around to enforce her miserable state of mind as if she been slaved to work there. Parking is very limited and as a tourist when you come late, all bays are full (2 disabled 12 normal). They charged me city tax on arrival however, in between stay they said they need to charge me again. At checkout, found out there was no payment due. A couple of times, had to ASK again n again, REMIND again and again to clean the room whilst away. The bathroom shower had no pressure at all and was shown to them yet they didn't do anything about it. With family, it becomes so annoying to deal with such matters. CAUTION: Stay away, especially from the dinner lady in case you still bump into them. She will teach you etiquette on how to eat :-)

A reasonable stay overall, main disappointing aspect was that the toilet and shower room are separate and there is no basin in the toilet... so need to step out of the toilet to the shower room to wash hands afterwards

Toilet is not working properly, keep flushing non stop. No dark blind on the window. Just tranparent, so early morning the sun will wake us up. Ask extra pillow & towel no respond till we had to go downstair. We asked to storage 1 of our luggage since we will stay for 3 days in Ibis later. When we came back, we had to wait for more than 2 days. No manager around for more than 2 days. We had to wait for our luggage until last minute (around 10 pm) to get our luggage. Food are ok, customer service are horrible. Property is very bad condition.

Stay in the France on my trip to Geneva.

The room was brilliant. It was a cold day, so I asked at the reception and they kindly provided me a room (no 100) with a bath so I could warm-up.
Unfortunately, there was no right plug in the bath (the one provided was too small). So I ended up using tape, as it was late evening and there was nowhere to get the right plug.
This room was quite new and the bathroom was freshly repaired (some other rooms looked older).
The other issue was slow wi-fi and it was cold in the room (the air conditioner was not able to fully warm the room in cold winter night).
However, everything else was quite nice!
The breakfast was standard (no hot meal) but they offered freshly pressed orange juice.
The room had a total of four beds, so if you are traveling in a group - this is quite nice option. The border with Switzerland is just 10 min walk, to the Geneva centre - 1h walk, however there is also a bus.

Comfy bed but very small room. Booked a room with 3 beds, a double and 2 singles but got only one bed upon arrival. Someone elses hair elastic complete with hair on it was still on table near TV converter. Ok place for a one night sleepover. Hotel surrounded by construction. Woman at front desk in the morning was nice and the included breakfast was adequate with cereals, boiled eggs and bread. It was definitely a low budget hotel which I paid around $200 for.

A great stop off point on our way to the Alps - easy to find, good sized family rooms and nice breakfast. A lot of roadworks going on around the hotel which made parking a little difficult but the staff sorted this out for us. Easy access off A40.

Room was comfortable and good car parking. Food was ok but only cold buffet style food, no hot /cooked foods. No evening meal arrangements available. We asked for recommendations for somewhere to eat locally and were given wrong directions. The neighbourhood had some road works being done so crossing some parts was difficult as pedestrian areas were blocked off. Staff in the reception area were not in the mood for conversing and did not smile so it felt like you were not really made to feel welcome. Shame!!

Great hotel, terrible neighbourhood

The room was large and comfortable although the conditions of the toilet and bathroom were subpar. Breakfast is taken in the basement, it was not too interesting with bread, some ham and some fruits. It featured a coffee machine and fresh orange juice squeezing machine, though on both mornings by the time we went to get breakfast (quite early may I say) there were no more oranges left. There was a self serviced coffee and tea station at the reception which was quite handy. The receptionist was very attentive and the service was very good. The neighbourhood, on the other hand, was a completely different story! Walking outside made us feel uneasy as the neighbourhood did not feel the safest. There really weren't that many restaurants around, and the ones we did try had very bad food and even worse service! We recommended eating elsewhere! Though nearby there is a Monoprix within 10-15 minutes walking distance away as well as an E.Leclerc 10 minutes drive away which was quite handy.

Nice Hotel, let down by location and breakfast

Having stayed in many Accor hotels around Europe, you know what you're going to get with an Ibis Styles. Practical and clean with slightly quirkier photographs than in a standard ibis and free breakfast. The hotel is located in Ambilly, just over the border in France. Great for saving a few pounds when visiting an expensive city like Geneva, but you do spend an awful lot of time travelling in and out on the number 61 bus (stops located very close to the hotel) The breakfast here was much less exciting and varied than the last ibis styles I stayed in (Cologne) with no hot options and very little for anyone who dislikes (or can't eat!) bread. There is also no air conditioning downstairs where the breakfast room is located and the room gets extremely hot and stuffy. Whilst there is free tea, coffee and water 10am-10pm...the cups are minuscule and the water isn't chilled which is a shame. There is also currently building work being conducted right outside the hotel, not mentioned on the website when booking and rather annoying when they begin at 6.30am!! Clean hotel, but don't expect the most attentive service or practical location when visiting Geneva...No decent restaurants in the surrounding (slightly dodgy!) neighbourhood and receptionists that spend more time on mobile phones than being useful.

Strategic location, comfortable room & very clean!

Place was clean, strategically located along bus NFB61 line which was easy to get to/from Geneva. Lots of power point outlets inside the room (4) which was awesome... trust me I stayed in Paris in another Ibis with only 2 points and I struggled. The \"typical\" 1 bottle of mineral water is not guaranteed here, and I ended up just buying a 1.5l supply of Evian every two days for 3 euros. Liked the bathroom and separate toilet though, it was equally as clean as the room. There is a separate coffee/hot water mini machine downstairs at reception, which may/may not be convenient to different people but I was OK with it. If required, reception can also assist you to microwave your takeaway food, but it's not a \"public service\" as they manually have to access the kitchen downstairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there is a computer terminal nearby them with free internet for about 15mins. And yeah, there is free internet too which is standard for Ibis Styles. Ah, almost forgot... this room was strange in the sense there was no \"thick curtains\" there, so we had no way of blocking out the sunlight etc (only thin linen type curtains were installed). It's generally 25-35 mins away from Geneve: Gare Cornavin so plan your options well and print out the timetable from www.sbb.ch beforehand. Don't forget the (free) fresh orange juice!

Great alternative to expensive Geneva

Easy access to Geneva was a real bonus. Very good value for money. Fantastic view from the top floor rooms looking at the Alps - fantastic. A little noise from the street but double glazed windows and shatters helped to keep the noise down. We didn't mind the area as we wanted just a place to sleep and spent time in Geneva. Delicious breakfast with fresh and tasty ingredients. We will be back.

I wouldn't want to depend a holiday here, but it's great for a clean, comfortable and good value stop-over before hearing to the Alps. No bar, but if you fancy a quick beer before bed, head to the very cool African bar/restaurant 100m up the road. No other bars around in this rather dead neighbourhood.

OK for a night or two

Hotel looked good on the Internet. But when we got there we could see that instead of a thorough refurbishment being undertaken as mentioned only a quick makeover had been done. Some areas such as doors and wood work were old and needed replacing. The staff failed to book us in correctly. So we had to show our paperwork to prove we were staying more than one night. Room cold. Heating did not work, but they lent us a portable heater. Breakfast though was a high standard and we were pleased with the choice and quality.

A good hotel in France bordering Swiss

All good. I think it was newly renovated so everything as good as new. Location is good 15 - 20 mins in bus 61 from Geneva train station. Swiss pass accepted by bus as well. Dominos and a Chinese place near by. Staff was very helpful and free wifi was a bonus. Breakfast - Everything very good and the fresh Orange juice to be squeezed by yourself adds interest to the whole breakfast but just 1 thing lacking was some hot items in the breakfast but that a suggestion for the hotel to implement

Really good; perfect skk stop-over. close to major resorts and enabled an extra half day on the slopes. Good breakfast in the morning. I would stay there again without hesitation. I was charged twice for the room but that inconvenience was sorted out very efficiently within a few days.

Hotel was easy to find, clean and tidy. Plenty of parking. Location suited us as we wanted a quick stop-off before heading into Chamonix valley. However, area was pretty dead and I couldn't find anywhere for a quick post-flight beer. And there's no bar in the hotel. Included breakfast was plentiful buffet style, but obviously not as good a proper British fry-up!

Great hotel, very close to Geneva

The hotel was very nice, quite modern, clean and had great service. Staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very nice and large and it was clean. It did not have a hairdryer. Breakfast was excellent and there was free internet and parking also. It was close to downtown Geneva by car, but public transportation was quite a few blocks away, if you don't come by car. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good and cheaper than Geneva

Good quality hotel,clean and convenient room 10-15 min walk to the French-Swiss border where you can get a tram to Geneva city center-cost is 3 CHF one way-not so bad compared to the high Swiss prices. Free parking was a plus as we had a rental car.
Breakfast is good too.

Trevlig personal vid incheckningen men vid ut checkning mindre trevliga. På rummet var duschslangen trasig sprutade åt alla håll samt något rör bakom badkaret läckte. Samt man missar att bädda rent sängen, saknade örngott. Vi fick byta rum. Men sen när vi la oss, ramlade vi mellan madrassen på sängarna. Dubbelsängen var det inget konstigt med men madrassens på enkelsängarna var delade i mitten, och var allt annat än en bekväm nattsömn man fick. Frukosten var väldigt enkel, och satt en frukostvärdina som övervakade varje steg man tog. Om man är van vid en extremt låg standard kan klara av smuts, mycket primitiv frukost då kan hotellet passa.

Dans le style rapport qualité / prix cet hôtel est excellent. Le confort est très bon , la réception aimable le petit déjeuner excellent. L’environnement est en pleine mutation mais n’est pas gênant.

Manque d’entretien. Toilette brisée. Carreaux de céramiques brisées. Bain sale. Moisissures dans le bain. Taches dans les draps du lit simple. Franchement, pas fort comme hôtel. Nous sommes très loin des images commerciales du site web. Une tout autre réalité.

Le Bon air ds montagnes, une chambre spacieuse au 3 e étage, couloir et extérieur entretenus.
Petit déjeuner varié et copieux, produits du terroir, notamment fromage.
Calme aussi bien le jour que la nuit.
Je suis arrivé fatigué, cinq jours plus tard, j'étais plein d entrain.

Aller plutôt à l'ibis à 300 mètres

Le parking n°2 est un enfer, un seul badge pour tout l’hôtel mais je rêve ?!
Les fauteuils dans la chambre sont couverts de taches de javel, moisissures dans la salle de bain, le chauffage qui ne marche pas même sur 32°C ça chauffe presque rien ! Et c’est la même chose dans toutes chambres (mon collègue m’a dit la même chose)

dommage de ne pas pouvoir réserver les places de parking extérieures 1er arrivé 1er servi ayant un coffre de toit difficile d'aller dans le sous terrain commun avec tout les immeuble aux alentours et donc des vols se font régulièrement...

État des chambres déplorable.
Une moquette horrible vielle avec mauvaises odeurs.
Bref à refaire complètement.
Petit déjeuner en sous sol. Correct. Jeu d orange frais.
Je ne retournerai plus. Jusqu’à la rénovation.

Place getting worn down

Place starting to get worn down. Mildew in bathroom. Free breakfast was not that good - but better than nothing. Uninteresting neighborhood - like often with these hotels, but short walk to tram going right to Geneva center. Free parking a plus. Surely a grade below what we usually get - but price lower as well. Elevator broke down while we where there.
