Opposite you have supermarket but you need euro. 8-10 mins walk to swiss border.

During our 10-day stay in early November, air conditioning was not an issue, but the spacious rooms were quite comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils, and two good-sized food stores were nearby. The living room and bedroom were sparsely furnished, but all was clean and the windows blocked any street sounds from the trams passing.

The photos used to advertise the room showed clean, modern spaces with wooden flooring, giving the impression of a well-maintained environment. In reality, what we experienced was completely different:
•The room had heavily stained carpets, which gave the impression of poor hygiene.
•Several plug sockets were dislodged from the walls, which appeared unsafe and posed a potential electrical hazard.
•The hairdryer was rusted and emitted a burning smell when used, making it unsafe and unusable.
•One of the pillows had a visible stain, further contributing to the overall feeling that the room was not clean or properly maintained.

This was not only deeply disappointing but also unacceptable from a health and safety perspective. It is clear that the room provided was not the one we thought we were booking, based on your published photos and descriptions.

We therefore respectfully request a full refund for this stay, as the accommodation did not meet the advertised standard and was misrepresented at the point of sale.

The stay could have been better if the central air cooling had not broken the day we arrived. The location is perfect if you intend to use the tram for going around Geneva. The staff was exceptionally helpful especially Laticia at the Front Desk, who helped sort out parking for me, provided a tower fan as the weather was too hot. Overall, the stay was comfortable enough for me to be happy to stay here again if I had to.

I definitely would never stay at this hotel again. Although it seemed cleaner than some of the reviews, the carpets had atrocious stains. Being only a few miles from Geneva it took us SO long to get into and out of downtown in a car. It would have been better to just stay in Geneva and eat the cost. The building was very dirty looking from the outside and overall not well kept. The breakfast was not worth the money. There were no decent restaurants in walking distance.

In the middle of the night ( 1 AM) someone “pulled the fire alarm” and we had to stand outside for 1hr 40 minutes. While we were standing outside cigarette butts were falling from the windows. It seems like people were smoking and setting the alarms off. The fire department did not arrive for 40 minutes. The staff did not seem to know what to do. It was a wasted night of sleep for sure. We were told to go back in the building but the alarms were continuously starting again.

The property was very worn down. The reception area was tacky and dirty. The staff were pleasant, but not very efficient. The rooms were in poor condition with of an extensive amount mold in the bathroom, carpets poorly patched together, nails and stains where decorative pictures used to hang. The price was competitive and it is on a tram line, but the hotel needs a serious renovation.

Disclaimer: My wife and I travel a lot throughout the US and Europe and have stayed in a ton of budget hotels. We never have high expectations for our stays because we understand what we're getting at our price point.

That being said, this hotel was one of the most disgusting places I've ever stayed and I feel I need to warn others. The room did not look at all like what was advertised in the photos. Instead of wood floors there was carpet. No big deal, who cares right? Except the carpet looked like someone aimed their butt off the side of the bed and blew their ass out all over the floor. I walked around in shoes until finally laying a towel on the ground to avoid stepping in it. Absolutely disgusting.

This hotel joins my list of top 3 most disgusting places I've ever stayed the night. Along with a Studio 6 in Lincoln NE, and a Motel 6 in Knoxville TN.

When I make a reservation for lodging, I expect to find a clean, quiet and safe place to stay. The Appart'City Classic cannot provide that. If you look inside the microwaves - I stayed at different units - they all have a cut on the right wall. There is a speaker and a camera there. The first one caught fire on me! The upholstery from the chairs is frayed, The top layer of the wooden desk, kitchen sink and cabinets show patches of worn finish and are peeling off. The shower holder is broken. In one unit, there was no heating. In another, there was so much hard water in the coffee maker it would take longer than 30 min to get two to four cups of coffee. In that unit, there were holes on the wall and on the bathroom door. In this current unit, there are no drain lids in the kitchen sink or bathtub. The one in the bathroom sink is broken. EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. MULTIPLE TIMES/DAY. there is a considerable amount of noise from upstairs for a really long time. Then, a car with an ultra loud engine drives away. NICE! Though I seal the door with plastic trash bags, they still manage to send some of the putrid and highly undesirable smell of marijuana to my unit. To prevent it from coming through the vents, I turn the heating off. NICE! When taking the elevator, it always reeks of an overwhelmingly repulsive perfume. Then, very weird people keep either making noises from behind apartment doors or crossing in front of you. Outside, it doesn't get any better. RUN!

As I wrote many times before, customer service at this hotel is NONEXISTENT. There is a group of staffers and/or lurkers obsessed with one thing only and that is NOT the well being of the guest(s).

I wasn’t surprised when I found the same microwave that had caught on fire on me before in the kitchenette. I took pictures. I wasn’t surprised and submitted photos of a phone app that detected spying devices in four different appliances.

The constant noises coming from the apartment upstairs were non stop as they are occurring right now. I recorded a lot of it happening in the wee hours such as 3:20 a.m. There was also the use of the closest fire alarm to my apartment that rang for over five minutes. I also recorded most of it. Interestingly, after the annoying noises, either a car or motorcycle with ultra loud engines drives away.

The elevator always stinks. It’s an overbearingly unpleasant scent someone confuses with perfume. The people in the hallways are, for the most part, scary. Nowhere outside of the apartment does it feel safe. In the lobby and on the streets in the neighborhood, there are always scary, misguided types who target guests/town visitors. Heavy polluters cars and motorcycles with ultra loud engines keep driving around the block. Describing it as highly unpleasant doesn’t really do it justice. It is far, far worse.

I had to stay here for family and other personal reasons but as another reviewer wrote: \"Get your money and RUN!\"

Also a supermarket \"Casino\" is only 1 minute on foot.

The hotel is located in France, not in Switzerland. It’s ok looking inside but outside it looks very old and depressing. Avoid if you have small children. The lamp in the room was hanging from electric cables as well as the wall socket next to bed table. It looks like they didn’t finish the renovation or renovation was done poorly. You can electrocute yourself which is not acceptable even for the convenient price. Perhaps not in every room but ours was in bad condition. Bathrooms are clean but shower curtain was sticky ( not clean)
Bed was nice and the linen was very clean but very bad quality pillows.
Staff were very nice but be aware that they leave the front desk at 10:00- 11:00 at night. Not at 12:00 like it’s written on the website. You better call the hotel before arrival. Also. The checking is jot at 2:00 Pm, it’s at 4:00 pm.

Disgusting hotel - avoid!!

Absolutely disgusting room. We booked for two nights but left after one (which was very generous!).
Where to start? The room was filthy, stains all over the carpet; what looked like bloodstains on the bathroom doorframe; insects crawling over the bed; fittings hanging off m the wall; light fitting hanging off the ceiling; the window didn’t open; the air-conditioning unit was missing its front so I had to guess how to use it, the TV remote was missing; stains on the pillows, mattress and towels. Absolutely gross.
I stayed in a studio room with a kitchenette, but I would not use the kitchen facilities as they were dirty and didn’t look safe.
The location was awful too, really run-down area and didn’t feel safe for two females travelling alone.
When we checked out early, the woman on the desk didn’t seem to care or appear surprised, clearly this happens a lot at this hotel!
Thankfully we managed to find another hotel for the last night of our trip.

Great flat very close to central Geneva

We booked this last minute during summer time after a flight cancelled. Staff at the reception was very helpful, price was reasonable, we could cook our own meals (there are two supermarkets very close), room was very comfortable and had blackout curtains (we previously stayed in another hotel nearby which didn't, so could be hard for some to sleep after sunrise), there is a tram/bus stop very close which gets you to central Geneva in 20 minutes and Geneva airport in about 50 minutes (with 1 change). We would certainly stay there again.

Dirty Apartment - Never Again

Disgusting experience from Appart’ City. Parking and the elevator gave a good impression for our 1-night stay. The staff seemed friendly at first but unprofessional & rude when they assistance was required. The room was vile. Stains covered everything. Water stains on the ceiling, and more gunk all over the carpet and couch. The bed had some brown marks on it; this is not good for a hotel. I would rather sleep in their elevator. The kitchen looked unusable, with the doors literally going to come off their hinges. Compliment for you Appart’ City: the restrooms you provided are as clean as a public porta-potty… Worst thing was when we went to find they gave us 3 pillows (they weren’t actually pillows but feather-thin small cushions) for a group of 4. What? We went to ask for another, but the receptionist said they were closed. That was it. I told we had paid for 4 and requested many times as otherwise we won't be able to sleep. She sighed, and stormed off. Later, she’d dropped off the cushion, knocking impatiently on the door.
Overall, a terrible experience. Do not go. EVER.

The experience was terrible. We arrived to check-in at 2:00 PM (as per the reservation). The receptionist checked us in. However, when we went inside the room, we realized that room was not cleaned after the last guest. Bed sheets were dirty with stains and blankets were on the floor. We took photographs and went to the receptionist who told us that room was not cleaned and not ready (so why we were checked in this room). We were told to come back after 1 hour. After 1 hour, we realized the kitchen sink was fully clogged and water won't drain at all. We took the video and showed again to the receptionist. He came to our room and put draino to unclog the drain. (We were told to wait for an hour before putting any water). It did not solve the problem. We went back to receptionist. They did not have any solution. The facility manager said that a plumber will come next day and fix the problem. (No one came for next four days to fix the drain). I have video proofs. They refuse to change room.

Kitchen was totally unusable for duration of our stay.
The place is rundown. The photos of the property as well as room do not reflect the current state. There was a antiquated grill appliance instead of microwave.

The staff was unresponsive and rude and avoided making eye contact in case we ask for plumbing technician. The receptionist closes the front area 1/2 hour earlier.

Stay away from this property.

The apartment was adequate. Hallways are dark and narrow. City taxes must be paid when you arrive, and are not included in your online payment. Paid parking available on premise, costs more for parking under the building. Three mile walk to downtown Genève, Switzerland. Grocery store across the street.

The title may be misleading...Though is listed under Geneve, Switzerland, this aparthotel is located in France, not in Switzerland. It is not too bad if you don't mind being 25 minutes away from the center. Or If you don't mind having ants on the floor and in your bed. Or if you don't mind that the entire street is either under construction or being repaired. If none of these bothers you, then go there to spend a couple of days in Geneve

Travelling to and from the airport was very easy and convenient. Was given a free travel ticket at the airport. Took about 45 minutes on the train and the bus. Hotel is easily accessible, bus 61 takes you to the center of Geneva. ( 20 minutes). , 5 minutes walk from the border with Switzerland where you can catch a tram to the center. To my opinion this is not a Hotel but an appartment . We were allocated a studio room .. which is bigger than I expected. Has a kitchen and fridge. The reception staff were ok especially the man ( Malaha) was helpful. Hotel does not accept any other currency apart from Euro. Down side was the bed was un comfortable.. the matress wires were protruding which is risky. Spent 3 nights and no room clean. Breakfast was just basic.. The kitchen staff were nice and apologetic for lack of choice. All in all I was happy with this stay on France side because of the cost which you cannot find on Switezearland side. Hotels in Geneva are sturbonly expensive!!!

The only downside to this place which Expedia should of let all customers know including the hotel is that they are doing major road works. This is a nightmare travelling as so many one way roads and seems to add approximately 15-20mins extra on journey to get to the correct road.

About the hotel location luckily there is a supermarket less than 2mins walk on the same road.

Rooms are a little small but manageable.

The staff nice. However there is one gentleman who goes beyond great lengths to help out. I think he may be a manager of some sort. Easiest way to describe is he has a bold patch (sorry to identify you this way). But he is to nice and certainly deserves great recognition.

One thing I would advise those who are going to check in late. Make sure to call before 9pm if possible and request code for front door. Otherwise you will be extremely sorry for the whole night and won't be able to check in till the following morning as there is no staff.

The double bed room I requested was not available upon check in. They said they upgraded me to an apartment. The carpet was filthy and the two twin beds shoved together was uncomfortable for my husband and I. The TV was in a separate living room and the sofas were dusty. We were provided with 3 small bar soaps for our 3 night stay and no housekeeping service. Only good thing was the apartment had a small fridge and kitchenette with plates and utensils which we really didn’t need. Continental breakfast was decent with pastries, yogurt and hot beverages. It was also located in France and too far from the Geneva airport for our Swiss vacation.

For me my overall stay in Apart’city Geneve was goo especially for the price. I will highly recommend it especially for a tight budget. It’s close to Geneva, tram is only 5 mins walk. Close to SPAR, restaurants and bakery. Breakfast is good... Receptionists were very helpful...

Why is this hotel still on expedia??

It was a very difficult place to get to. My friend who lives in France for more than 10 yrs. had a tough time navigating thru the detour and construction on the very street this hotel is located. We finally saw the building and so disappointed, we decided not to stay. We asked if there’s anything they can do to refund the money we paid since we are not staying even a single hour inside that hotel. They said they cannot do anything and that I have to call Expedia. After arriving back home, I immediately called Expedia to notify them. They said they will notify me in 72 hrs of their decision. I received an email today saying they cannot do anything. I guess it’s fair to keep someone’s money without providing any hotel service. I advice someone from your company, Expedia to go and travel and see these hotels for yourself and spend your own personal money. No refund policy on hotels we haven’t seen sure makes alot of sense.

When we checked in we were give a very vague “the parking is back there”. The area looks like it is under construction and we had to drive around for half an hour to find it. The area the hotel is in looks very sketchy. The bed was like sleeping on a rock and the pillows weren’t much thicker than sleeping on a sweater.

Cheap hotel to stay in if going to Geneva

We had to wait 45 minutes for our room although paying for early check in. After that the room was handed over with sweets still being under the bed. The reception was closed during lunchtime which was unhelpful when needing to ask for help eg taxis etc. There is minimal English translation in the hotel. But it is a good location to the tram into Geneva.

The customer service of the hotel was extremely bad. There was no room service. No one helped us in the hotel. Toilets were very dirty. The staff did not give us good service at all.

Not near anywhere not a safe area for worm

Hotel is 15 min walk to tram you have to walk past loads of dark flats beggars
Door was locked at 9pm loads of men hanging around didn't feel safe
No one cleaned the room
No lights in corridors
Rooms are ok good size
Coffee is 1.50 per cup

Be careful before booking

Convenient location and good transport connections

Location as excellent.

The apartment located on the bus route to the centre of Geneva. Several good restaurants and cafes within 100 meters walking distance.
The apartment is in France you need to have Euros at hand for to use in the hotel bus fares and to use in the local shop. Two bus stops down the road you are in Switzerland, you need to use Swiss Franks. Confusing!
The apartment is good if you are on limited budget, as it is has basic furniture and facilities similar to student rooms in a British university campus.

Location is good and convenient access.

Overall good stay and I recommend for short stay 2 to 3 days. It is 6 to 7 minutes walk from the Molliesulaz tram station which is the last stop for tram 12. Also bus 61 can be taken from the Main geneva station. So full day geneva ticket will cover this area and no need to buy extra ticket for french side.
Reception will be closed after 10pm and opens only after 8am.

Not that bad to commute to Geneva

Overall the hotel is not bad considering its rate. The hotel is quite cheap compared to other nearby Geneva hotels. Most of you may want to say there to commute to Geneva. One thing that you should consider is you need to walk to French-Switzerland border (about 5-10 minutes) and take a bus (61) or tram (12). For me it is not that bad to stay in the tram and watch outside thinking this and that.

It is an OK place to stay

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is as comfortable as you can expect from this type of establishment. The wifi is very, very bad. I could not even watch YouTube videos for most of my stay. The area is undergoing major works due to the establishment of a new tram line, and once that is done, it will be in a great location.

Horrible. I would have preferred being homeless.

The bed was tilted. The hallways were completely unlit. The room was remodeled but unclean. The staff were so rude, I get mad just thinking about it.
