Very easy location to get to/from Geneva, lots of shops nearby for snacks etc and restaurants also. Unfortunately the pillows were stained yellow and dirty under the pillow case, there was ants in the bathroom and the hallways stink badly, it was also very very hot during my stay and there was one ac that was ridiculously weak.

Property is very basic.stayed with kids. Corridor and rooms are smelly. Smell of smoke is too much.
Shower was broken complained to the reception but they said they can not do anything or they can’t compenaste. So not very helpful. Person on the fone was rude aswell.
Ok for a night or two.

Perfect location. Right outside the boarder of France and Switzerland. 30 second walk to the trams which takes you into Geneva Lake town in 10 minutes or smaller town a few stops away. Tram on the opposite side also takes you into France. Restaurants all around within 30 seconds or few mins walk. Property has a fridge and cooking equipment if you want a cheaper night in. Pharmacy nearby, mini grocery store. Safe to walk at night (I got home after 9pm and travelled alone). Lift access and clean hotel. Not the most luxurious but still modern. I will definitely be staying again

Apartment itself it lovely and really good value for money. The shower was properly the only downfall, poor shower, no holder and the water flooded.
The people above were super nosey. Recording is closed most of the day. I had an issue with the deposit I paid to Expedia before arriving then hotel charged me for it anyway lots of messing around. Other than that nice apartment. Good location in relation to transport and the area it’s self seemed a little unsafe in the nights

Was due to stay for 4 nights, but we checked out the morning after our late arrival on the 29th December. The pictures on the website are deceiving. The place is very run down and it much need of repair. Mould in the rooms, very old furniture. Staff were not friendly. When we said we were going, they just shrugged their shoulders, didn’t ask why. So I told them the reasons, but they were not surprised or bothered at all. All they said was that they would not refund us. We are going to persue this though. This property should not be on Hotels.com

It’s handy as it has a train/bus stop in front of the hotel, the location is great. Unfortunately WiFi never worked and as I did not have a Swiss/French number I could not make a call - there is only someone at the reception from 8am to 10:30am which isn’t ideal. But for the price we get what we paid for. Overall good but we loads of space for improvement.

Though the residence had good facilities, when arriving the room was not what I would regard as clean. It was grimy and worn down and lacking attention. When leaving, I left something in the room and when I went back to the reception it was closed and I was unable to find a single person who was a member of staff at the residence. I was unable to call the reception until 4 hours later by which time I was waiting for my flight at the airport. I called the hotel as soon as the reception opened again and the receptionist told me that the hotel staff was unable to locate the toy I had left in the room which was a gift for my niece. I do not understand how they weren’t able to locate my belongings unless nobody went back to clean the room after we left. I was very disappointed in the general standard of the room, the lack of communication to the reception and the lack of staff present on the premises who then claimed I left nothing in the room which in fact was not true.

Nice affordable room with great public bus tram

Great area. Right at the 'border' between Geneva and Annemasse. Trams and buses are literally in fromt of hotel that take you to cornavin or Geneva center in 20-25 minutes. Room was clean and also had stove/fridge and basic utensils. Would recommend..

(No iron or.iron board in room though)

Its about 45 mins from central Geneva. Don't bother staying here, the check in time is 4pm which is ridiculous for a hotel.

The staff were very kind. The bathroom was filled with mold and had no vents. There was no central air so windows open would be ok if it wasn't for constant noise and what appeared to be crime outside. The construction prevented us from getting to the parking garage nightly. Location is good for food, grocery etc. I would not however recommend this location due to the activity outside and the poor condition of the facility. Even emergency stair wells had broken lights.

This property requires a major room interior overhaul. I did not find the neighborhood safe and its pretty far from the Center of Geneva so be prepared to walk over 1.5 hours or take bus or tram. The kitchen, plates and utensils we very dirty with grease and the bed is extremely uncomfortable. I will never stay in this place again ad the pictures are not representative of the truth about our apartment there.

This property is not how it looks in the photographs , we had two apartments and both of them where old and poorly decorated and they both had broken showers.
The gentleman that was on duty really needs to learn manners and common courtesy we all found him very very rude.

Felt a little more like an inmate than guest

There are warning about many things or there will be monetary consequences. You even must take out your own trash or face a 96 euro penalty (how is this amount arrived at, laughable). It is located in an area of much road construction which makes it difficult to access. We parked our car in their garage but they forgot to give us the fob which opens it. Once settled the place was good. Since it is a 2 bedroom suite we could have only gotten one room instead of two. The laptop friendly space which also has the TV located in it has NO LIGHT and the room only has small lights by the beds, not even suitable for reading. Kind of strange set up but adequate. It is located by some nice pizza restaurants which eliminates having to drive in the area and use the garage again at night. It seems most guests were men working on the construction projects in the area so it was kind of a rough crowd but caused no problems and were quiet.

Very bad

On arrival, the reception guy was very rude I have been told I can’t check in before 4pm as the rooms were all full and I can’t even stay at reception. Please my advice NEVER book with them they are bad and the reception guy was unpresentable and acting as if he works in market not hotel very bad customer service( I just left) and didn’t bother to get my money back as they won’t pay it. Honestly avoid this hotel and for Expedia it gives you bad reputation.

Good experience for price. The only thing was bad is the attitude of the man in the counter. Reception is not appropriate because there is not chairs or any thing to seat; when I had to write something on my phone I seated on a chair in the breakfast room and my husband stayed out waiting me. So the man started to speak aloud \"that is just for breakfast, you have to pay\"! bla bla... he was rude and his attitude unexpected. I found it a little bit funny because we just had already breakfast in our room.

Cheap but nice hotel

I used this hotels several times already. This is one of hotels that I choose to stay whenever I visit there with several reasons. First off, the price is way cheaper than other hotels in Geneva. Secondly, the location is not bad. We can use tram (number 12) to reach Geneva city center very easily and this hotel is so close to the tram terminal station. Even though the tram station is under construction, so we have to walk a little bit more than before. I hope the construction will end soon. Lastly, you can cook yourself. Super markets are near to the hotel and you can buy whatever you want to cook.

Reception staff saw us with luggages waiting at 3.40pm ( opening 4.00pm ) at locked front door.
He was having orange juice at the courtyard enjoying the spring sunshine.
Didn't move until 4.00pm.
Least he could do was allow us to put baggage so that we could resume our travel itinerary without having to check in first..
Request to change broken fan ( No aircon in room ) was met with excuses.
Only replaced on 2nd night.
For a service industry, the hotel staff treated us as though we are trampling on their union rights.

Late check-in can be stressful

The hotel has very few staff members and reception is only open in the morning, after 8AM, and late afternoon / early evening. I arrived after 8PM, once reception had closed. I received the late check-in instructions by email only once I landed in Geneva. That was a bit stressful! In the end, it was OK. I had a room for the night. My apartment was fairly large but equipment was basic. The area has lots of bars & places to eat so it's fairly noisy until 11PM. Although it's cheap, I don't think I'll be tempted to stay again.

Nothing like the pictures

Upon arriving, our room had no toilet seat. The bed was a sofa bed (I was aware of this when booking), but it was not made into a bed. When I went to the front desk to ask about this, she easily changed us to a different (bigger) room. The second room was dark, very unpleasant, the bathroom had 2 hooks to hang towels and the wall underneath them was black from mold. The door deadlock didn't work. We couldn't get the heater to turn on. Neither room was anything like the pictures on expedia. We got a refund (after about 2 hours on the phone) and booked Hotel Suisse near the main train station...much much better (although 3 times the price). The woman at the front desk was not pleased that we called expedia instead of talking to her, but authorized the refund and gave us back the cash we paid for the hotel tax.

The only problem with your hotel is there is no counter staff between 11am till 4 pm and 8pm till next morning 8am. This do not occur in any other hotels. If our flight happen not to coordinate with your open time, then we will have to wait till your staff comes. This is very very inconvenient to travelers. Hope you can have counter staffs throughout and improve this particular service to overseas travelers.

Shockingly Dredful !!

no air conditioning made my 2 night stay shockingly dredful. Also no staff to assist outside of bussiness hours. The staff who were there in the morning were very unhelpful and more concerned with collecting local taxes.

Fantastic hotel

This hotel seems like it was recently renovated as the furnishings inside of the apartment were all new. The room had an odd smell, perhaps from the new flooring. We rented an apartment which had a separate bedroom and a huge terrace on the outside. The kitchen was fully equipped including soap and a dish towel. The residence itself was fantastic, but the neighborhood was a bit sketchy with some rowdy boys outside at night who tried to grab at us. The hotel is across the street from the tram line though so it was easy to find and get around.

This is the worst hotel that I've ever stayed. The room pictures are completely deceiving. The staff is rude and make you feel unwelcome, specially the maintenance guy. First reception only operates for a few hours so if you arrive outside their working hours you are lost. The bed in my room was broken and the lights didn't work. We had to switch rooms. There's no cleaning but they leave you a nice broom and a mop for you to clean. The dishes don't even touch them because you also have to do the dishes or else they will charge you I think 35 euros. Parking is a yoke. Good if you are driving a bike. Space is minimum. Hotel is located on bad neighborhood. Very noise at night and without A/C. Good place if you escaped from prison. Not a vacation place.

Dont think I will be repeating.....

Staff was not helpful at all, when I arrived the 3 people in the front were helping out 1 disgruntled customer, so I had to wait 20 minutes to ask where i could park. The hotel in itself is very dingy and musty. On the bright side, there is a little kitchen and a supermarket a block away, so that's convenient, but it's not a good location to visit Geneva. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.

Pretty and quaint

Dark smoke filled halls in hotel led to a surprising fresh smelling beautiful room. Was glad was with my husband because the halls were very scary. Hotel is right acorss the border- located in the heart of the city- restaurants are walking distance. Hotel doesn't change $ so be sure to do it at your airport of origin.

Good low cost alternative

Good solution when attending extended conferences in Geneva and requiring an economical accomodation with self catering. The property is at the end of the tram line just across the road, in France . The border crossing is no problem, as no one is on duty. The room is not luxorious but adequate.There are supermarkets close by in both Geneva and France. Note that shops are shut on Sunday in Geneva but open on Sunday morning in France. Reception is only manned form 0800 to 1200 and 1600 to 2000., so arrange check-in accordingly.

Cheaper than staying in Geneva

The hotel is cheap and near the French Swiss border. It overlooks the border crossing and there is a tram within 50 yards of the hotel which goes to the middle of Geneva in about 15 minutes (number 12).
There are some other odd things; you can only check in between 16:00 and 20:00 and you must check out between 08:00 and 12:00 because at all other times the reception desk is closed.
There is a laundrette downstairs in the lower floor of the hotel and if you need a ironing board then there is one at reception.
There are some people there who have been there for months and plan to stay for a few more months.
It can get a little noisy but if you are looking for somewhere to stay which is cheaper than Switzerland then this isn't too bad.

3 Stars? Not likely!

I have stayed at dozens of hotels in Europe, and hundreds in my life time. This hotel if that is what they want to call it was horrible. The front desk is only open for 6 hours a day. If you need to arrive outside those hours you have to call and arrange it. And, by arrange I mean they will give you a code over the phone to get in the front door, and then they will give you a code to the little safe that has an envelope with your name on it and your key... oh and there will probable be several others keys there to if you don't like your room... maybe check out someone room instead. The room was as clean as a hostel, smelt like a bad Indian restaurant, and you had to clean, tidy, and take out your own trash or pay a 36 euro fee to have them do it for you. Now none of this is know to you because they are smart and do not provide it on Hotels.com. We found this out at 10:45pm after driving for 8 hours in a snow storm. All the other hotels in the area where booked and we had no choice. The only plus side was it had hot water and a mini refrigerator. If I were you... find a hotel that is not this one... 3 Stars? Give them a no star!

Cheap and Friendly Hotel but a little dirty

This was definetly a cheaper option than staying in Geneva. Switzerland is expensive so saving money anyway you can is a bonus! It's directly outside the tram stop, which happens to be the end of the line, as you're actually staying over the border in France.

Location is perfect, only a 20 minute tram ride into Geneva, a short (200m and 500m) walk to a few grocery shops. Day pass Tram tickets cost about 6 euro each BUT if you're travelling on the weekend the one day pass will cover 2 people travelling together. We found this out by visiting the tourist information bus which was just outside the train station in Geneva itself. They have some great tourist booklets which have very useful info!

The hotel/apartment was really spacious but very dated and is in desperate need of a reno! Air-con would be nice! It was quite dusty when we first arrived and I found a vacuum cleaner in the cupboard so ran it over the floor and wiped some of the furniture we'd be using. I also took the pedestal fan apart and washed it so we could use it, as it was really filthy. The cleaner either hadn't been or is really slack! The bathroom was suprisingly clean though considering the rest of the place was dusty and dirty. Our towels and sheets were also spotless.

Noise was not a problem either, soundproofing is good here and we slept well.

The man in reception was really nice, supplying us with maps and helping to print off some things for us. He also spoke good english so no problems there.

Cheap LternTive to expensive Geneva

The hotel is OK, clean but has seen better days. It situated on the French side of the border and right next to the end stop of tram no. 12 which takes you the the heart of Geneva in 15 minutes. The staff were helpful but the reception is not manned all the time. The security is very good, with coded entry and key card for the apartments. As they are apartments, they are not cleaned during your stay. The area is so, so with some restaurants near by, which are lot cheaper than anything in Geneva proper. Overall rating: 2 - 3

This hotel is as cheap as you can find for Geneva. It has a peculiar odor. The service desk closed at 10 and the electricity went off about 3AM - then it got cold. While this sounds awful the quality of hotels in Europe is not as good as the states. You just do not get much of a hotel for your money in europe, especially switzerland. We love Switzerland but next time we will just take a tent.

The location location location-perfect!

I do not unsderstand people who said in their reviews that the hotel is far or in the middle of nowhere. It could not be futher from the truth. The hotel is budget one so obviuosly people shouldn't expect the posh apartments. Yes, they do not have rooms but rather mini flats with a bedroom, sitting room, mini kitchen and bathroom+toilet. If you are not too picky and trying to save some money this hotel is perfect for you. The best feature of it is the best location ever. It's only about 15 minutes away from centre of Geneva. Just take a tram number 16 and stop at the last stop . It is still a very busy area there with lots of shops,cafes and restaurants. The hotel is in front of the tram stop. The trams run until about 2-3 am so enjoy your night out. Enjoy your stay and take advantage of the best location!

Worse hotel in my life (customer reception & hotwater problem)

If you arrive late you will be in trouble.
The first night there was no water and no hot water.
The second day there was no hot water. I went to the receptionist and I told him that I need to take a shower because I want to attend an important conference, but he was going to give me bottled water. I missed half of my conference that day because the water was connected at about 10:30am.
When I was leaving the hotel, the receptionist was asking me to pay municipal fees that I had paid when I checked in. I could not convince him that I paid to another person who was the receptionist when I checked in.
Lots of bad experiences.
Basically I would never recommend such a hotel with this type of poor customer support services.
I wonder why Expedia has it on their list.

Good price, but you get what you pay

I had not been notified there was check-in closing time, and I was really lucky I found someone closing the front desk when I arrived. The surrounding has some restaurants, which is good (I recommend the Italian right accross), but some strange guys hanging around a hair saloon and the bar across the entrance are not what you expect to face on a holiday morning.

Hotel of Last Resort: Geneva Residence

Stayed there during the World Health Assembly as no other hotels in Geneva were available. It was ridiculously over-priced and lacked basic amenities such as laundry, hotel operator and room cleaning. Recommend it for backpackers or low budget travelers-but not for business travelers.

We made last minute reservations and traveled on a budget. This was a good deal, considering. Our room was actually a small apartment: bedroom, living room with fold out bed, kitchen, shower room with separate toilet room. Building was directly across from the tram station, which was a 30-minute tram ride to the main train station. Hotels in Geneva give free tram tickets to guests for the length of their stay, but this hotel is actually across the border in France so we had the additional expense of daily tickets. There is a grocery store one tram stop away and an amazing bakery just below the hotel. You wake to the smell of fresh bread. The staff was helpful, letting us drop our bags off early. It was advertised that the reception desk was closed from 1-4, but we found it staffed on both afternoons we were there. Breakfast was included in the price, but you need to let them know the night before that you plan to partake so that they get food for you. The cleaning staff was thorough, but the place needed a fresh coat of paint. The elevator is sketchy and was being repaired the day we arrived. Wifi access with a password obtained from the front desk. Cable TV is in the room, but nothing in English. Neighborhood is working class: nothing fancy, but quiet.
