Easily accessible - 1 min walk to Metro station. It takes 15-20 minutes to famous Eiffel Tower by Metro. Restaurants around the hotel are good.

The room is little too old. Soundproofing needs to be improved. I can hear baby crying and guests talking from the other room. The shower is semi-open. Water can easily spill onto the floor. The kettle are not clean. I don't use it anyway.

- Found Hotel Avia Saphir Montparnasse a great value and this hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Check in is easy and hassle free. And the breakfast each morning was just awesome. All you could ever need for an American style breakfast or a \"continental breakfast.” And the Pasteur Métro is less than a 1 minute walk from the front door of the hotel. Pasteur has two very convenient lines. Line 6 and Line 12. Also shopping about a five minute walk. A big Monoprix just across from Gare Montparnasse. Other small shopping options much closer. And the stop for a RATP bus line is steps from the front door. Now the rooms are not huge. But you are in Paris to see and do things. Not spend time at a hotel. Also a small mini fridge in each room and a coffe maker and coffee and tea. So if you want to shop for food at Monoprix you're all set. Not a fancy neighborhood, more of a working class area and I did not feel unsafe here at all. So I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Well located clean friendly hotel in Montparnasse.

As always a pleasant stay. Friendly staff very comfortable beds and a high standard of cleanliness. The location is fine with a Line 12 Metro connecting you to the centre and Montmartre.
My only negative point is the poor tea and coffee making facilities.

This place is probably a great deal any season but summer. The very small room has a small fan. We had to leave the window open to cool down and the street is very very noise. The mini fridge may do a better job heating the room than cooling food. It was very clean and staff very helpful. Good english.

Nice but wouldn’t come back

We came out to meet another couple that we’re friends of ours and they were already there but the time we checked in was luckily quite early as we had been travelling all night but the lady on check in asked us for a €50 deposit yet our friends weren’t asked for the deposit yet we paid for our room in advance, the beds were really uncomfortable and caused us to have a sore back and one of the guys on front desk during the night shift is very rude and non approachable

Firstly the location of this hotel is perfect. Short walking distance to the Eiffel tower(and many other landmarks), it is actually visible from the corner of the street. Metro line station just 30 seconds away from hotel door. And plenty of places to eat in surrounding area
really bad Wi-Fi if need to use it for work or for personal usage
Had picked this place because it had a lift, was not prepared for the lift stopping between floors and had to lug the baggage up and down the stairs. The stairs were narrow and spiral so had the risk of falling off when handling baggage.
and i didn’t understand why I'm supposed to leave my card at the desk any time I leave the hotel
i asked for single double bed room but they gave me a twin bed room.
when i came with my friend they told me i will be charged +20 euro i didn’t understand why as well since i got the room and i have the right to stay alone or with some else.

Lovely room, they even allowed us to check in slightly early as room was ready. Great view of lovely Parisian style street.

Breakfast was light but tasty, perfect way to start the day.

On our last day our flight was not for many hours after check out but the lovely staff allowed us to leave our luggage in a staff only room in the hotel until we needed them. Felt like they were safe and could enjoy our final hours there better.

All staff were friendly and helpful throughout stay and they all spoke great English which was a great help!

Had picked this place because it had a lift, was not prepared for the lift stopping between floors and had to lug the baggage up and down the stairs. The stairs were narrow and spiral so had the risk of falling off when handling baggage.
The heater wasnt on when it was chill in the night, luckily the weather changed. The price was too steep considering that this.

This hotel had potential, however I will be filing a formal complaint with the ownership about the staff. The room was clean and the hotel itself was ok but small and cramped, however I left this hotel very angry about my stay. I checked in for a stay of 2 nights. The staff member that checked me in was Anour. He scanned my passport, gave me my room key, was not very helpful and I went upstairs. I went out the following morning and took my key with my like any other hotel in any other part of the world. When I came back that night, Anour asks me who I am and what I'm doing here. I tell him we have a room, my room number and show him my card and he says he doesn't remember me and I'm supposed to leave my card at the desk any time I leave the hotel. My girlfriend and I thought he was joking considering he scanned our passports and checked us in the night before, let alone not telling us about the ridiculous policy of leaving your card key at the desk when leaving the hotel and then expecting us to know. So he pulled us up in the system and asked a bunch of questions before we finally went upstairs. I was annoyed by this and went back down to get his name. He didn't want to give his name and started getting angry. After arguing for 10 minutes he gave me a fake name Bernadette. I got his name in the morning from the morning staff when checking out. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel and will be contacting head office about this staff member.

A good place, as long as you don't have stalkers

Overall a good place considering the location was good (close to the subway), clean, and a decent price. My only complaint, which is why I will NOT stay there again, is that they gave away my room information and allowed up two people I did NOT want any contact with (they claimed they were my mother and sister, but they were not). As far as safety goes, they put my safety in jeopardy by doing this, and therefore I will not be staying there ever again nor recommending it.

Nice Hotel, convenient location

The hotel was in a great location, steps to the Pasteur Metro stop and a short walk to Gare Mont Parnasse.
The room was very clean and comfortable at a very good rate for Paris. My room was on the back side, away from the street so even though there was construction in the area, my room was quite quiet and worked out very well for my 10 night stay.
I would happily book a room there again.

The hotel was in a great location. You could see the Eiffel tower from the main street and it was only a 20min or so walk away. The hotel itself could do with some updating. The decorating is a bit tatty and worn however for the price of a room, it's well worth it. The staff are very friendly and helpful.Overall it's been a positive experience.

Really Happy With This Hotel

We stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights/4days and it was perfect - nothing to extravagant but for someone who is sightseeing and not planning to spend all day in the hotel room this Hotel is perfect. Comfortable size, clean facilities, 20 mins walk from the Eiffiel Tower and a 30 second walk from a metro it really was perfect for what we needed. Also - although we had to check out by 12, they kept our suitcases safe while we explored a little more on our last day before we had to catch our flight. Staff are also super friendly!

Sleepless in Paris

Very clean room though with a lingering smell from the outside (food cooking). Couldnt sleep as noise really travels in this building (should have brought my ear plugs)! Very polite staff though not as well informed as they should be especially when things go wrong (eg not knowing what to do when the wifi was not working - it seemed to only work in the mornings, no idea why). Based on location, cost and overall service it was great value for money for Paris. I would stay again, with ear plugs!!

Nice hotel with minor issues

Overall, a very good hotel: clean bed, bathroom, mini-bar. A safe hotel option. Location is amazing. City center, walking distance to Eiffel Tower (25-30 min walk).
But:
My Wifi didn't work well at all. The elevator stops only between the floors, so you have to carry your suitcase upstairs one flight of stairs. Room is small. Carpet is old. The hair dryer didn't work.
The hotel didn't have a downstairs lounge, so it felt like you were in an apartment.

I can't say that my stay at this hotel was comfortable.
The room I stayed in is probably better suited for a survey of the local traffic than for a peaceful night.
The staff (at least for check out) not trained at all (unable to deliver a simple bill I needed for claiming back my travel expenses) and even rude.
I can not recommend this hotel even though its location is just perfect (right next to a metro station)

Wonderful surprise!

This hotel seems to be a little secret! It's price on hotels.com was among the lowest in its neighborhood, so was a totally unexpected surprise. The room was a bit small, but we expected this in Paris. However, it was totally clean, comfortable, with everything you need for a short stay. It was an easy walk from the Montparnasse train station and even 30-minute walk from Eiffel Tower -- past wonderful shops and restaurants. Bathroom was spotless, water was hot, and a nice mini-bar was well-stocked. Wireless Internet worked flawlessly and was free. I would stay at this hotel again any time.

I found this hotel to be clean, and in an excellent location--close enough to easily get to the major sites of Paris (about 30 minutes walking from the Luxembourg gardens, 40 minutes from Notre-Dame, and right around the corner from Pasteur Metro station). Unfortunately, our visit coincided with a bit of a heat wave, and without air-conditioning, our room was very hot (it felt hotter inside than out, and the outside temperature was in the 90s). In addition, the street below was loud enough at night that it did not help us sleep to open the window. Despite this, our stay was overall pleasant, convenient, and the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Nice budget hotel close to (almost) everything

A small, clean and cozy hotel with helpful staff. All in all this was a nice experience. The location is good, walking distance to the Eiffel tower (20 min), Montparnasse tower and shopping center (10 min) next door to Pasteur subway station. The hotel itself is very clean, rooms are small (my room barely had room for the double bed, a desk and a small dresser). The room, shower and bed were always clean.

great location

This hotel is great for the traveler. it is very convent to the subway. the rooms are just enough to sleep in. which if you are sightseeing that is all you will need. the travel from the airport is my only complaint. we arrived really early in the morning when the subway was closed and left before it opened so it cost us 100 euro in transport back and forth. the staff was great and very helpful as well. i would recommend this hotel just watch what time you arrive and leave the city to make sure you can catch a cheaper ride from the airport

Great if all you need is a place to crash after being out in Paris all day. 2 minute walk from the metro. very clean bathroom and bedding. very friendly staff (who speak english). only bad thing would be the very late check in at 2pm so we had to somehow kill 3 hours in the area having just traveled for 15 hours, they did let us leave our luggage in the hotel however. Room could use some updating for a fresher look. That said I would actually stay here again

Don't book the hotel shuttle

Check in was easy, the male receptionist was very nice and spoke good English. We were put on the 2nd floor, very narrow sprial stairs and very small lift (the lift stopped between floors so we still had to carry our case half way down the stairs). The room allocated was right next to the bright blue neon sign outside so sleeping was impossible, as it was late we endured the night, the next morning we asked to be moved and were given a room on the 3rd floor, without any fuss which was fine. The hotel states the rooms are soundproofed, this is not true either from the outside of the hotel or from the inside, we could hear the phone ringing in the recpetion.
I had pre booked the return shuttle from and to the airport with the hotel. We were due to be picked up at 6:30pm, at 6:45pm the lady receptionist (who had been nice on the phone) told us our shuttle was stuck in traffic so she would call us a taxi and bill the shuttle company. When the taxi arrived she informed me that she would only give the the 36 Euros I had paid for the return shuttle and an extra 14 Euros we would have to pay the rest, when I refused she became very rude, shouting at me saying it wasnt her fault! I was impressed with the friendliness and service from all of the staff until this point. She threatened to cancel the taxi and make us find our own and not refund the fare I had already paid! She got on the phone and spoke to a manager who gave the ok to pay the full fare.

Good location, simple room

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location, we walked all the way to the Eiffel Tower and back, also to the Latin Quarter. Did not get the breakfast but there are tons of cafes around the area.

Family
