Alexis Parr-Hill shared a great app to track your shuttles so we could get picked up at Miami airport. Wilson in the restaurant/bar is superb and the food in the restaurant is great. We remember George from our previous stay on December 8/25 and hope he enjoys his retirement. We will see y’all next December.

I was pleasantly surprised with this property. This is the first time I have stayed at the Sonesta. Large, clean rooms, well appointed, amazing staff. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint are the pillows….. most uncomfortable

The hotel was acceptable for a one-night stay. However, when I arrived in my room and checked the refrigerator looking for a bottle of water, I found a plate of old frozen food left inside. The room also had a strong food smell. Hopefully the staff can improve the room inspection and cleanliness for future guests

Everything is fine with the hotel. The only downside is that the listing says the year is unavailable, and it's unclear whether it's covered or not. The notification should state whether it's included or not, or at least include the rate, since many guests want this as a convenience and avoid confusion. Paying $27 for eggs and bacon seems ridiculous to me.

Unfortunately the pool and pool deck were closed for renovations. We were not informed before we arrived and had paid extra for a pool view room with pool access. The reception staff were disinterested and just said that Hotels.com had been informed (which they hadn’t). The bar and restaurant staff were lively and very attentive. Overall, I would stay here again; the pool and pool area will probably be lovely when they renovate it.

Pool was not working plus it appears nothing is being worked on to fix it. We were not told this before booking. Were given a room that had not been cleaned so we had to go back to front desk and get new room. $25 for breakfast buffet that was not good at all. Also restaurant was not open for lunch due to low occupancy. I would not stay again.

We chose this hotel specifically because of the amenities listed on Expedia, and unfortunately, almost none of them were actually available during our stay.

The pool — one of the main reasons we booked — was closed. While there may have been a small note buried somewhere in the listing, the pool was still prominently advertised as an available amenity. That feels misleading.

Since the pool wasn’t an option, we planned to at least enjoy lunch at the hotel restaurant — only to find out it wasn’t serving food that day, with no explanation provided. Fine, we thought we’d grab a quick snack from the convenience store instead… except the register was down, so purchases couldn’t even be made there.

The very amenities that influenced our decision to stay here simply weren’t being offered. As a result, we had to spend additional money on taxis to get to the beach and to restaurants — expenses we did not plan for when booking.

Overall, this stay felt like a waste. The outdated 1980s decor didn’t help the experience either. I would strongly recommend spending a little more money and staying elsewhere.

Front desk personnel was rude and unsupportive. The lady rolled her eyes when my friend and I asked for a receipt for a purchase. We had a $15 beverage credit that the staff didn't let us know about and when we asked to apply it, they seem very lost.

Upon arrival to Miami at 4PM, hauling the shuttle to the airport was extremely easy and a pleasant experience. The hotel smells amazing upon arrival and check-in was extremely smooth. The room was clean and in great shape. Check-out was also very easy.
Overall a great stay at the Sonesta Miami Airport.

This place has potential but fell far short of expectations, especially for the price point. Specifics of the bad and good:

Hands-down the worst shuttle experience of our lives. We had three hotel shuttles wave at us and drive right on by, despite repeated calls to the front desk and waiting for over an hour in Miami's worst cold snap in the past 50 years. It was miserable. The 4th shuttle tried to drive past (same driver as the first pass) and my wife had had enough--she literally jumped out in front of the shuttle and forced him to stop. When we got on board, the entire shuttle was empty--he was making rounds listening to music and not picking anyone up at all! Unbelievable. While we were loading up, the shuttle completely filled with other people we'd seen outside--he'd been bypassing other guests for the last hour too.

On to some good things: The front desk manager, Autrice, is priceless. She apologized about the shuttle driver and assured us she'd handle the problem. She gave us some complimentary drink passes for the bar--which she correctly noted we needed by that point. She also upgraded our room.

The room was spacious and clean, and the bed comfortable, with plenty of pillows. Water pressure wasn't too good, but the water was hot and never ran out. There was also a good amount of counter space in the bathroom. Automated light shut off quickly tho.

Room was noisy with a large gap under the door that allowed hall light to flow in along with sound.

Disappointing check-in experience.
When we checked in, we weren’t given any information about the property, available alternatives, or even clear directions on how to get to our room. When we asked questions at the front desk, the staff member repeatedly said, “I don’t know,” without offering to find out or get help. It made the arrival experience confusing and unwelcoming, which was frustrating after traveling.

HORRENDOUS. honestly so disappointing. we show up and check in takes 30 mins - inorder for the woman to HANDWRITE our individual breakfast vouchers 2x6 days. Just for them to then charge me at the end of week a breakfast charge every day we stayed. How do you both give me a voucher for the upgrade i paid for and then charge me again at the end of the week. Also the pool although it was running perfectly fine was closed (for who knows how long) but when its an airport hotel whos only perk is rooftop pool you might want to include that its closed. House Service was terrible. im fine with service only every three days. But when you’re there for 4-5 days and still no one had come. terrible. we ran out of everything toilet paper towels etc. We call to replace them. nothing comes. we go down to front desk to ask again finally then something shows up 4 hours later. We had to specifically ask for someone to come clean the room only to have none of garbage removed or the used cups provided in the room just still left behind dirty and unusable. The only good present and helpful staff was the service at the breakfast buffet. 3 employees out of the entire hotel. Now i get handle be charged extra. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.
