Our stay was great, room was huge, we had a lot of space and there was a bonus tiny kitchen we were not expecting. The hosts made us a fresh breakfast with coffee each morning out in the garden.

This was the most perfect spot in the much-recommended Santo Spirito neighborhood. We were within walking distance from everything but on a quiet street, which was really nice. The room was perfect for our two night stay, and the bathroom was sizable for two people. The breakfast was a major highlight in the gorgeous garden - I could’ve stayed forever. Marta & everyone else working there were so lovely and helpful throughout our stay. We came home to a freshly made bed and filled water carafe each night, which was much appreciated after a long day of exploring Florence.

Beautiful property, amazing breakfast!
Marta greeted us and answered every question we had while we were there. She prepared a delicious breakfast and we ate outdoors in the garden. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic. Not a bad walk to Pitti Palace, Boboli gardens and Ponte Vexxhio and once you are there you are close to everything! Highly recommend!!!

A 20 min walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station. Not so easy to pull along a wheely case along the uneven pavements of Florence. Comfortable bed and bedding. Very clean. We spent several nights in mid-November at B&B Monte Oliveto and were warmly hosted by the owner Donatella. She saw to our every comfort, especially with regard to breakfast, which she prepares pretty much from scratch everyday. She is an amazing cook and breakfast at Monte Oliveto is easily the best of many that we have experienced on our tours of Italy that range from Catania to Bolzano over many years. So this feature alone makes Monte Oliveto a standout. Breakfast is served in the dining room and we were joined by very pleasant guests from France and Slovakia--the former, a poet from Toulouse. What charming company! Breakfast is available bedside for a small service charge, as well. The room was spacious and immaculately kept, as was the bathroom. The B&B is just over the Arno from the center of Florence and is easily accessible by foot or bus. The Cappella Brancacci is just a very short walk away and the Pitti Place a few minutes beyond there.
Donatella is, in addition to being quite the hostess and chef, a talented artist, as well. While she does not have her art out for general display, she will happily show you her watercolors upon request. Do ask--they are quite good.

Little oasis in Florence
AMAZING... short of words to describe our experience at Monte Oliveto. Excellent location at the South side of the Arno river, close to the classic place to visit but in a tranquil area. Marta is a fountain of knowledge of Florence and provided us with sound advice on places we could visit based on our preferences, a terrific host, kind, always available for the guests needs, and a traveler herself, which gives her a good understanding of the needs and expectations of the her guests. Great at being a link with the rest of the guests, with whom we had wonderful breakfasts, late conversations at the patio, and even went together to one of the gallerias.
We couldn’t be more confident in recommending B&B Monte Oliveto, you are for a pleasant experience.

We had such a lovely stay at the B&B Monte Oliveto. The room was spacious, clean, and inviting. The breakfast provided each day was delicious and with lots of variety. Donatella provided us with some excellent recommendations for restaurants and gelato. The location, for us, was excellent. It was away from the very busy tourist area and we enjoyed the walk across the bridge. If we make it back to Florence we will be staying here again.

Wow wow wow! What an incredible spot to stay in Florence. Don’t be deterred by it’s distance from the center (only about a 12 minute walk). If anything, being at Monte Oliveto was a reprieve from the buzz of the tourists. Donatella was an incredible hostess who made us a delicious breakfast every morning. This was our first trip to Florence and Donnatella was a delight. She mapped out all the best museums, restaurants and of course, gelato! Monte Oliveto has a more authentic feel set slightly outside the touristy side of Florence. We would definitely stay here again.

From the minute you enter Monte Oliveto, you feel like family. Donatella has a special gift with people, and has the perfect balance of attentiveness and space when needed. Her accommodations are clean, comfortable, beautifu,l and in a great spot for exploring but away from the tourism. We stayed in the upper suite for a family and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The AC was always the right temperature, the beds comfortable, it was quiet and just great. I will always remember her special breakfast spreads on the patio. It was easy to come and go s you please without worry. She treated our children with kindness and warmth. Just a lovely stay no we HIGHLY recommend her B&B. We loved Florence and hope to return. Thank you, Donatella!

Charming B&B with lovely people hosting
Our wonderful experience with Monte Oliveto began before we even arrived. We made a special request, which required some back & forth communication, and Donatella was great at responding quickly and graciously. She went out of her way to receive the delivery of our Andrea Bocelli tickets and made us feel confidant that there would be no issues. And there weren't! Her daughter Marta was an amazing hostess. She greeted us when we arrived and provided suggestions of things to see and do in the area. She prepared and served lovely breakfasts on the terrace each day and made museum and taxi reservations for us. She also went out of her way to do some research for us on transportation challenges for the concert in Lajatico, near Pisa. When it looked like we had very few reasonable options, she offered her boyfriend to drive us. These are wonderful, lovely people, who go above & beyond, and they made our stay very memorable. Their charming B&B is off the beaten path, but still very walkable to many of the major historic sites. We'd love to return and stay again someday!

Wonderful stay for my family and I. The location was perfect and the hospitality was above and beyond what you might expect. Donnatella made our stay perfect by recommending places to eat, places to go and by serving an amazing breakfast each day. The room was spacious, beautiful and comfortable. Charming B&B in Florence! Donatella is an incredibly warm and generous hostess and an incredible cook! I met several others who have consistently stayed with her on several visits to Italy so clearly I'm not the only one who's discovered this gem! While it was hard to say goodbye to Florence it was even harder to say goodbye to what had begun to feel like a home away from home.

Had a great time! The hostess was awesome and helpful with giving trip tips and ideas, would even book tours and museums if needed. Breakfast was simple but home cooked every morning. Bed was really comfortable. Decent sized room and the B&B was cozy and in a quiet location with about a 20-25 min walk to the center of all the main attractions in Florence. Some rooms do share a bathroom, but it was never an issue on my stay. Would have no issue staying here again, and I can't think that you would either!

The owners were very friendly and the rooms very nice. They served very nice breakfast - made vegetarian stuff for us. It was very close to the attractions. We would love to go there again. The kids loved it as well.

We have stayed on the rooftop room. Ceiling was quite low on top of the bed. Balcony was nice in the room. Air-con works well. Bathroom is very beautifully decorated but having a shower is very difficult because of the low ceiling as well. You can not stand up when you are showering. The owner was very nice and helpful.

Beautiful B&B in Florence
Had a wonderful stay! Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Fantastic location to access Florence by foot and was able to park out the front of the B&B for a few euro a day. Thank you Donatella for your warm hospitality!

Incredible Stay
One of the best places I have ever stayed in my life! Donatella, the owner, was remarkably helpful, kind and a truly invaluable resource. Breakfast was delicious!!!! The place is in a great neighborhood, away from the touristy parts of the town, which gives an awesome feel for how people live in Florence. It is super easy to find from the train station and is a short walk from everything you could imagine. Loved the place!!!

This bed and breakfast is just a 10 minute walk from the heart of Florence. We stayed two nights as we toured Florence. The host, Donatella, is wonderfully warm, charming and most helpful. She prepares a wonderful breakfast and maintains a clean, efficient B&B. On-street parking is available. Her backyard garden is beautiful and we would have enjoyed it had it not been raining. Our room was clean and comfortable. I have a habit of taking off my wedding ring when I sleep. Apparently, I knocked the ring off the night table and left without it. By the time I realized I wasn't wearing it, in Lucca two hours later, I desperately called Donatella. She reassured me she had found it and shipped it back to the US. We immensely enjoyed our stay with Donatella. We highly recommend it.

Best place in Florence!
This is the best place we stayed at in Florence - ever! Donatella and her husband live on the property and truly care about guest services and the cleanliness of the rooms. It's an easy walk to everything, but if you have lots of bags take a cab.

We stayed here for two nights and we only wished it were longer.
The house was absolutely stunning (outside and inside) located in a very nice residential neighbourhood which is just 15mins walk from the central tourist area. The room was artistically decorated with a decent balance leaving it still feeling like home.
Certainly not 5star hotel luxury but feels very comfortable for sure. The owner was very friendly and offered useful insights in how we should organise our stay in Florence.

Special bed & breakfast in Florentine neighborhood
We loved our stay at Mount Olivetto. Our host Donatella, was a highlight. She was warm and welcoming, helpful with all things tourist in Florence, and made the most delicious breakfasts for us every day. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough if you are interested in an off the beaten track stay in Florence.

We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely b & b! Donatela our host, was extremely helpful and knowledgable in answering all and any questions we had. She offered to book dinner reservations, supplied us with bus tickets and catered to our dietary needs. The food was excellent! The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Very clean!

Beautiful B & B in an authentic area of Florence
Monte Oliveto is situated on a quiet street away from the frenetic city centre. With a beautiful garden to the rear it is a real oasis in this bustling place yet only minutes away from the bridges that take you over the river Arno into the heart of beautiful Florence. Donatella and Marta are so friendly and welcoming and a mine of information. In the area are several typical Tuscan trattoria serving some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten, all recommended to us by Marta. It is close to the Boboli Gardens, Pitti Palace and the walk to Forte Belvedere with the most amazing view over Florence. On this side of the river you will also find interiors and antique shops and also the workshops of artisans. Really interesting.The hotel itself is beautifully decorated. We were lucky enough to have the room at the top with its private terrace, small kitchen and amazing bathroom. The breakfasts were lovely, everyday something different: cheese souffles, pancakes, freshly baked cakes, crostini with tomatoes and olive oil....To stay here really is to live the Dolce Vita and we hope to return one day!
