Our stay here was wonderful! The host was so pleasant and the view from the terrace was beautiful. The location was in a great spot for enjoying the Florentine neighborhoods, and close to many of the restaurants recommended to us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The property has so much potential but its been neglected. Everything is old and in poor condition. There is no cleaning except for the day you check in. The communal areas were never cleaned. The garbage in the kitchen was smelling really bad by the time we left.

We loved this spot. Shaila was a fantastic host. The suite was clean and beautiful with a lovely view from the balcony where we had our coffee each day. We walked everywhere including right into downtown and beyond.
Highly recommend 1900Artevita for anyone traveling to Florence.

Great location, the room and facilities were very clean and cozy. The common area had an espresso machine and purified water and snacks. The host Shaila was very friendly and hospitable and presented us with gifts and useful information upon arrival. There was a balcony in our room with an excellent view of the lush neighborhood. The building was minutes away from the various bridges that lead into downtown and the famous Pegaso bakery was just around the corner. Highly recommended, we had a great time in Florence at the 1900 Artevita, thanks again for everything!

Shaila was wonderful and very accommodating. Unfortunately the pictures make the room look better then it actually was. Almost felt like a dorm room. Luke warm showers, someone else's hair in the shower, very worn floor. Dated furniture. You could hear everyone else on the floor. Cold AC, walking distance to train. Nice restaurants near by.

I won’t recommend staying here…

Communication was good with the hotel, apart from that, everything just didn’t stand out for me. I get that most of the top hotels in Florence are expensive and this was one of the affordable ones and this is obviously not 5-star, I won’t stay here again.

Wifi was bad. In our 3-4 days stay, it only worked half of the time. And when it did work, it was slow.

The location wasn’t the best. Apart from a bus stop nearby, it’s not the most convenient. We ended up walking 30mins one day under the Firenze heat as the bus drivers had a strike - again not their fault. The nearest tram station is a good 15min walk.

Very few restaurants nearby. Just not a lot of things happening - it is a residential area so I get that. Two bakeries as well.

The rooms need serious upgrading. Old and there was a bit of smell coming out from the toilet.

Lastly, be prepared to pay for the city tax. We were not told about this in advance, and although it was just €34 but we were a bit surprised. First time I have experience this in my many visits to Italy.

Good place to stay, could use some updates in the every day items like linens, shower curtains, etc. if you’re not a picky traveler this is a good spot to stay. The hosts were great - very nice and communicative. The AC was a life saver at night as well.

I would recommend for a shorter stay (a week) as there really isnt a kitchen facility (not one where I would cook) The shared kitchen space is great for storing things and making quick dishes but not a lot of prep room. Its walking distance to everything. The staff are super helpful.

Good bnb for Florence with quiet location easily accessible to tour points. The actual hotel is up 3 flights of stairs...we didn’t know that in Italy ground floor is 0, not 1. So if you see \"second floor\" its actually 3. Totally fine for us but maybe not great if you have tons of luggage or are elderly. We enjoyed our stay and had no problems at all with the lodging.

Great place in quiet area

We loved our stay! The fact that we had use of the kettle, fridge,microwave,tea/coffe/cups/plates/etc Balcony room is a must well for us it was. There is a supermarket 3 min down road.
We walked from the train station 20 mins. But believe you can take but.
We walked all over. I think if your use to walking maybe stay closer. Especially if you want to be out all day. Come home and go back into town. There is not too many restaurants close by.

Property was in the quieter part of city about 25 min all from bustling centre. Enjoyed the area with easy bus access to city and train station.

We were told that someone would welcome us at the scheduled arrive time but had to wait in the searing heat for over half an hour.
Air conditioning was not very effective and there was visible black mould in the room.
Internet did not work for the second night of our stay. Was critical as we were trying to book onward train travel.

Staying at a B&B that doesn't do the Breakfast part was a novelty.
The premises is on the 3rd floor with NO lift. So bags and your nightly post dinner climb is up 3 flights.
Accepting all that, it was adequate EXCEPT paying $150 per night for what was essntially a room is far more than warranted.

The location was easy to find and access. Check in was easy and simple. The property was clean and had all necessities. The back balcony and patio area was very nice. We were able to sleep with our doors open with no trouble (minus one or two mosquitos). I would definitely book here again if in Florence!!

Convenient location, train station about 20 minutes walking, is better to take the bus with luggage. Room was clean, breakfast was outstanding and the owners of this B&B are incredibly helpful. They had contact me in advance to give me instructions and directions to the B&B. Only inconvenience there is no elevator.

Staff were so rude. they pushed to pay their taxes by cash only. when I was going to pay by credit they gave me hard time. once I paid by credit the manager started to coarsening He threw my luggage out of his building at the door and asked me to leave immediately otherwise He would call police(?)

Stefano & Leonardo were very helpful and gave us a good map. We liked the location, away from the busy downtown, 20 minute walk to Ponte Vecchia and it was 10 - 15 minutes walk to the tour bus pickup point. Only negatives: bar of soap for the shower (or shower gel) would be good and hair conditioner. Loved being able to use the fridge and enjoyed nighttime drinks on our balcony. Would def stay her again! (warning - no elevator and it's on the 3rd level)

Off the beaten track-in a good way

This is a great B&B a bit off the beaten track but in an area of the city still great to explore. The bedroom was big with a beautiful balcony with an amazing, absolutely typical italian vista. Shower was excellent, wifi pretty good (couldn't make internet calls), and a good morning breakfast. The walk to the city center is about 15-20 minutes, but you can do it along the river or along windy streets with lots of shops--so it's nice. There is a really big supermarket very close by in case you forgot something or want to eat something. The B&B has a microwave for use. There are many restaurants nearby too. Downstairs, there is a catholic church organization, so sometimes it smells a bit churchy in the hallways. Got lost a few times--but found amazing sites. Leonardo & Stefano are very helpful and very mindful that you have a good experience.

Comfortable Stay, Friendly Service

Our stay at 1900 Artevita was comfortable and relaxing. The owners of this B&B are two brothers who go out of their way to make the stay comfortable and convenient. Check-in went smoothly, and Stefano, the owner, met us at the B&B at the time we had agreed upon. He provided maps, restaurant recommendations, and directions. The B&B itself is very nice, with clean-looking, well-decorated rooms. Our room had a balcony with a view over the street, which was nice for relaxing and eating breakfast. Breakfast was simple (pastries, fruit, yogurt) but plentiful. The location is a bit out of the way from the main tourist destinations, but we did not mind having a longer walk through this gorgeous city. The neighborhood itself is nice and safe, with a convenient grocery store about one block away. Overall, the stay was excellent and I would highly recommend it!

Upon check-in we were given a map of the city and list of restaurants to eat at, laundry places, and other places to checkout. Stefano was very helpful and spoke very good English - he was also always available to respond via WhatsApp for any questions we had during our stay. The room was clean and prepared as expected, and the staff was very helpful. A few of the places were a bit far, but Stefano helped explain how to get around through buses. Definitely checkout the market he recommends - it was a great find.

Very walkable location to the center of Florence to visit sites such as the Duomo and various museums, as well as the train station. Breakfast was great with a selection of pastries, fruit, cereals, etc. The owners were very nice and helpful, they gave us restaurant recommendations and told us where to find the closest grocery store and pharmacies. We had a great stay!

We had a nice stay at Artevita. The owners were very helpful and accommodating to us. We found it very helpful that they provided a convenient map and list of restaurants/ places to see which we used throughout our trip. The room was clean and neat. It was conveniently located and walking distance to the center of Florence.

The only complaint I have is that we had a hard time using our charging adaptors in the room. The adaptor holes were smaller than the universal adaptors used throughout Europe. However, when we asked the owner for help they let us borrow one adaptor to use for the room. We appreciate their help!

All in all we recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence!!

Great hotel, helpful and kind a staff, nice big room. About a half an hour walk from the main centre of Florence's but still a nice area with some good restaurants close by. Breakfast was simple but good. Parking card available from hotel which allows you to park in nearby blue-line carparks for 10 euros per 24 hours - handy if have a car.

The hotel is in a nice area away from downtown so you get a feeling of how non-tourist go about their days. But at same time ur right next to metro station and a walking distance from Vatican..definitely recommended. Enjoy your stay :)

The thing that impressed me the most was that they contacted me the week before my stay to make sure my wife and I would be there in time. The reception closes at 3:00 pm and they wanted to be sure we arrived on time. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly and welcoming. The reception is on the 3rd floor with no elevator and you need to ring the doorbell and be buzzed in as there are other businesses in the building. When we were checked in, they provided us with a map of Florence complete with bus routes. The room was tastefully decorated and had a small balcony with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. The bathroom was small and the TV could be a bit bigger. Also the Wi-Fi could be stronger. I could check my email but looking up websites was a problem.
The continental breakfast is good but there is coffee, tea and cookies available 24 hours as well as a small refrigerator in the common area.
The neighborhood is a bit residential but the tourist/museum areas are easily reached by bus (€1.20) and Stefano and Leonardo will tell you which bus to take and which stop to get off. They are happy to help with anything they can, even after hours to make sure that you enjoy not only the b&b but Florence as well.
I highly recommend this place!!!!

Didn't really want to comment on the stay since they been having very good comments ... But since hotels.com send me an email for my comments regarding the stay, I will give my personal opinion

From what I read from all the reviews and the management replies, i had this notion that the accommodation is just a short walk from the train station or the duomo , but I was wrong. It actually a little further and is better to make use of the buses to get back.

With that being said, I didn't do much research on public transport thinking everywhere is within walking distance. However, I did enquire from one of the brother whether my kids needed tickets if we were to travel on public transport . I was told is not required. As luck would have it, a bus inspector came on board and fine my son 50 euros who is 11 yrs old and 1.3 m for not having a ticket and as a concession he will not fine the other son who is 8 yrs old and 1.2 m.

Later, as I check online, kids above 1 meter needed a ticket and there is actually a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 kids for 6 euros for the whole day.

Guess I should have do my research rather than to listen to the brother for advice. But, I thought they should know better.

Nice B&B within walking distance of centre

We were greeted by a smiling and helpful host who helped us (ladies) carry our luggages up to the third floor where the B&B is located. This place is wonderful but wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a physical handicap as it is quite a climb and there are no elevators. Also, bring your own hairdryer and shampoo and etc. He does have a common Brita filter jug (for you to fill your own water bottle) and fridge. This B&B is a good 20 minute walk from the city centre.

The rooms are lovely, like rooms in a private house. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good. The street outside is rather noisy so the rooms can get a bit hot, necessitating the use of A/C.

I had a wonderful stay at 1900 Artevita, and I hope to come back one day! The location is excellent - just a 15 minute walk into the historic center, and perfectly situated in the Oltrarno neighbourhood, which is quiet and peaceful, with a ton of hidden gems (restaurants, shops, etc.) The B & B itself is exceptionally clean, quiet, and modern. It offers tea or coffee at any time, books and magazines, and information on Florence, and assistance with booking tours. My room was cleaned each day, and I felt very comfortable and safe there. As a solo female traveller, it felt like coming home each day.

I had a very pleasant stay at 1900 Artevita, with both Leonardo and Stefano proving excellent hosts. It's not the most central of hotels and is probably a good 15 - 20 mins. walk from the centre of Town, but it's very quiet as a result and I had no trouble getting to sleep at night. Highly recommended.

We had a pleasant stay in Artevita. Our host Stefano was very helpful in guiding us on what to do in Florence and he provided maps and suggestions for restaurants. The breakfast was OK but a bit heavy on the sweets/carbs and did not include hot food. The apartment is on the second floor of an old building, which means you have to handcarry luggages to the top floor.
