the room itself had minimal items as well. exactly 3 towel sets. most things look to be on their last leg.

I wouldn't stay in this hotel again even if it was free. They had my reservation wrong. I booked 1 room and had me for 2. The AC does not work at all.
It is an ugly room With scary looks. This place should only be used by the hour!!!

Parking wasn't secure, first thing you see is a sign that says the hotel isn't liable for damage to your car or theft. The rooms were muggy and humid.

My room had the bare minimum which was okay but the bath tub and a fowl smell in-bedded in it. I turned on the air since it was hot and the same smell came out so just slept in the hot room. I went to the office desk once at night and again in the morning was told that management would talk to me and then sent an email to the gm and have yet to receive a response

It was so dirty we didn’t even stay. I have asked for a refund that I haven’t received. I have pictures. Mold around bathroom floor/tub, hair in bed sheets, smoke smell even though it said 100% smoke free rooms. One bed didn’t have bed skirt and the box spring was very stained.

Horrible night. My AC broke and called and talked to the staff and they said they'll call me back. They didnt and had to sleep in a warm room, then maintenance came by after i told them again in the morning. They had to replace the whole AC unit right before we checked out.

This hotel isn't anything to get excited about. The beds are fine, shower got hot, and the ac works. Plenty of parking, breakfast offered, and some snacks you can purchase. Now if you're looking to take a bath then tub doesn't have a stopper. If you're looking for a location with good stores around, you're looking at a 15 minute walk. If you're looking for a room with a closet or blinds, these aren't the ones for you.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. The hotel is older and the outside is rough. The hotel is next to a noisy road. I think staying here is ok if you have low expectations and want to save $. The bed was fine. It was close to lots of local Austin places. It was easy to uber around if you don’t want to drive in traffic.

The motel is located in such a convenient location. It is easy to move throughout the city or to travel on foot into downtown Austin. The room was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The room could use a facelift, but it was great for the price and location in Austin.

There were no business facilities. There was no gym. Breakfast that was included was good, a number of options and easily accessible.
The parking lot was a little sub par but rooms were OK. Clean and fridge, iron etc worked.
Air conditioner was a little flakey by for the room and rate it was adequate.

The property looks dumpy when you pull into the parking lot but the rooms wetsurprisingly clean. However, when I had an issue with the television, the person on duty was unable and uninterested in helping me resolve the problem. Good location, though, and reasonably priced.

It is important to have receptionists who are well trained and who know how to treat guests, not like machines. There was a very small breakfast room in which guests could not have breakfast at the same time, the bathroom sink was clogged, and the outside design was different from what I was expecting.

Very clean room, comfy bed, nice mini fridge and microwave (be advised, my mini fridge did not have a freezer), nice quiet place, very nice breakfast. I can't speak for the pool as I did not make any attempt to use it. Extremely friendly staff as well. A very nice stay. I spent 6 nights here.

The floor had a missing piece of laminate and the piece between the bedroom and bathroom was not secured so every time we walked into the sink area, the piece would come up. The staff were friendly.
The hotel was in walking distance to Moody Center and the other hotels were over $200 more a night. All we needed was a bed to sleep in because we weren't there even 8 hours in the room.

I booked this as a foreigner, unaware of the generally poor reputation of the Super 8 brand (though mea culpa, I should have researched this).

This place is very meh - a cheap motel, not terrible, but nothing special. Very basic, amenities workable but in poor condition, stained curtains etc. you get the picture. Pictures appear to be old or 'enhanced'.

Was fine for a brief stay but would not stay again.

Nb, if planning to walk to downtown from here, the motel is on the other side of the i35, an extremely busy multi-lane freeway with often non-functional pedestrian lights.

Parking was easy and free, although the parking lot needs to be repaved. Free parking in that neighborhood is pretty remarkable so I was really happy. The room was clean and functional. The A/C kicked in quickly and cooled the room down very fast. Free breakfast was good, a little carb heavy, but for the price of the room, excellent value. The outside of the motel has been recently repainted, but the walkways are dirty and rundown, which affects the look of the place. The staff is quiet until you are friendly, then they are very friendly . Unfortunately, our TV didn't work, although someone did try to fix it. Also, the ice maker did not work. I loved not needing to pay for parking at the Moody Center since it was only a 15 minute walk. Excellent value. I will stay there again next time I go to the Moody Center.

The maid tried to steal my bottle of liquor. After checking in, I went to my room on the first floor and I put my bottle of alcohol in the fridge. I used the bathroom and the toilet didn’t flush, also the colorful blankets on the beds were stained, gross. I gathered my things and I went to the front and requested a new room. They gave me a new room on the 2nd floor and told the maid to clean the room that I just left right before she was leaving for the day. I get into my new room, then quickly realize that I forgot to grab the alcohol out of the fridge in the first room. So I ran outside to flag the maid down and said I forgot something in the fridge. All of the sudden, she pulls my bottle of alcohol out of her car then says “I was about to take it to the front desk” which is a lie because her car was parked right next to the front office and need I say again, she pulled it out of her car. I ran downstairs to grab it and she repeatedly stated that she was going to take it to the front desk. So, be careful staying here. Also, the sheets in my new room were stained and had cigarette burns in them. You get what you pay for I guess.

This is a basic road-side motel. No frills. It's most compelling feature is that it is right across I-35 from UT, which I was visiting with my daughter. The rooms look and smell old, and the ice machine never worked. But, the staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived with a broken foot, and they shuffled things to give me a room on the first floor, which I appreciated. So, it's good for what it is. Just don't expect the Ritz.

Don't judge a book by its cover, or the downtown Austin Super 8 by its exterior. Paint is faded and the property doesn't look great, but my one-queen bed room was clean and in decent condition. If you're a no-frills person like me who just needs a place to sleep, you'll find Super 8 perfectly suitable.

Breakfast wasn't much to write home about. There was an ice bowl where yogurt had been, but by the time I arrived at 8:15 (breakfast from 6-9), it was empty and didn't get refilled. Other options were carbs (Texas waffles, toast, cereal, mini muffins, oatmeal packets) and a few apples, and one too-green banana. That said, breakfast was included, and it filled me up until I got home a few hours later, so I can't complain.

At $90, it was a great price for easy driving access to downtown. I would stay here again.

I really wasn't expecting much from this motel. I did arrive 2 hours earlier than the check-in time of 3:00 and the young lady said I'd have to come back or pay an additional fee. We walked around the lake for a couple of hours and then came back after 3. The young man who checked us in was really professional and kind. The room, upstairs, was free of water-stained ceilings and it appeared to be quite clean and cozy. Overall, pleasantly surprised !

Nice room with great beds-- a few of the electrical outlets need repair, but otherwise no complaints. Shower was great. I wish there was more than one waffle maker; we weren't able to score breakfast waffles because the entire population of a small Eastern European nation, apparently, beat us to the single appliance and completely monopolized it until breakfast service was over. I don't hold it again the motel staff, however. Would stay again.

some good, some not-so-good

The good:

• Water pressure was decent
• the bathroom sink faucet was normal, not one of those annoying “fine mist spray” styles
• The towels are better than the normal hankie-sized non-absorbent type we find in many motels - not overly luxurious but pretty good
• the Bed was fine
• Decent sized TV (though whoever the provider is, they could use an updated user interface)

The not so good:

• The facility seems to have been crammed into an odd corner; certainly an unorthodox parking lot and access/egress but that of course cannot be changed at this point.
• Not sure about the immediate area - looks sketchy but I could be wrong.
• More directly, it seems maintenance might be an issue - as in:
• walking into room, the single ceiling light’s bulbs were dead (the wall lamps between the beds were fine, and they replaced the bulbs immediately)
• shower - a 3+” L-shaped crack in the floor of the (one piece fiberglass style) tub
• shower - the shower plunger works, but still allows plenty of water to spray out of the faucet rather than diverting all the water to the head
• shower - drain was a bit slow, but did finally empty the tub
• hair dryer switch completely inoperable, which explained why it was left unplugged (as plugging it in was the only way to turn it on)

When we wanted to check in, no one was in the office; it was a fairly long wait. When we wanted additional towels around 9pm, the office was closed for the night. We later got the towels, but there is only one person running the hotel, and with all good will, he is spread to thin. The outdoor pool was dirty, not only leaves but also trash floating in it. The room was clean, but the toilet seat was loose. As a cheap hotel for one night, it is ok, it is in 15 min walking distance to the capitol, it has parking and it is cheap, but I think next time I would invest the money for a better hotel.

fair price for short stay and location, our checkin was good, and staff at that time, 4ish, was friendly and helpful... the ice machine was outoforder at our end of hotel, and in the evening I went to office to ask for ice, and another
man at reception desk was rude, abrupt and acted like I was stupid for not knowing there was an ice machine in the corner away from the office, but all in all, our stay was good and close to softball field event, 6 minutes away.
