nice hotel, good value, safe area with a decent sized room. only negatives where that there was no shower screen so after every shower the bathroom was flooded which was inconvenient. If im going to be picky the selection for breakfast was a little limited but otherwise it was a great stay and i would recommended it.

Lovely room. Staff very friendly. Good breakfast. Disappointed the lounge bar wasn't open, but you could have a drink in the Belcredi which was attached to the hotel. Had a Thai massage which was very good. A very pleasant stay.

The location of this property is very convenient. There are lots of tram and bus stops within 2-5 min walks from the hotel. It is also very close to the Old Town Square and popular attractions (20 mins by Tram).

This property is not a 4 star hotel. This hotel is old and rooms are average. Reception staff ( depending on who you meet) can be welcoming or rude.
I needed a toothbrush and the mid-aged guy at the reception asked for $2, what kind of a hotel charges money for this basic amenities ?
The only reason i am even giving a 2 star is for a courteous employee who helped us with our queries and was easy to talk to.

An Alternative to Downtown Prague Prices

This is our fourth trip to Prague and our third stay at the Belvedere. We just need a clean, comfortable and safe place to stay and are not looking for frills. We think the Trade Fair Palace (huge modern art museum with VanGoghs, Monets, Kupkas, Klimpts, etc.) is wonderful and only two or three blocks away. Hotel is just across river from old town and trams 17 and 26 take you there in about 3 or 4 stops. Nice Italian restaurant, San Carlo nearby as well as the Dim Sum Spot (small but very good) are within two blocks of hotel. Italian dinner with alcohol for under $50. What a buy the whole experience is.

Hotel was good, bed very comfortable and staff were really friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the city centre (about 25 min). We liked the breakfast buffet. Fresh brewed coffee, cakes and rolls.

The minuses of our room: plug socket were hidden behind furniture (can't work on my laptop because these plugs were only next to the bed, behind night tables. Another minus is bathtub without curtain (bathroom get wet quickly).

Fantastic stay good value for money

Fantastic stay friendly helpful staff from the moment we arrived , came in and cleaned room fresh sheets and towels every day.
Breakfast hall was clean and tidy with a wide range to eat all continental.
Nice lobby to sit in and relax and the day we left was able to store luggage for us for free . Free wifi to use throughout and main tram links to get around easily .

Firstly Belvedere is not an upmarket business style hotel. It's a little dated in places. However that said, it's well located, spotless and clean, staff were friendly and helpful in our dealings with them and provides a great breakfast. Our room was large and well appointed. Yes you do get some noise from the trams outside but most of Prague has trams outside their buildings and shutting the windows obviously helps. I think it's a case of.. if you want to spend a fortune go into town. If you are clever then stay here get a good location and a great little gem of a hotel. Subway station 6 minutes walk behind the church. Recommend Bolt as your taxi service great service and cheap as chips compared to UK prices. Sally O'Briens Irish bar a 5 minute walk away is also great for a few beers in a cosy pub. All in all we enjoyed the hotel and it's location suited us perfectly.

Overall good value for money

Next to the tram stop so you can easily get around Prague also close to the nice park on the hill where you can get some pretty views of Prague. There are convenience stores nearby which are open very long so you can get water or some food.
The breakfast is quite nice. Choice of fresh fruits and vegetables also quite a big selection of sweet cakes. Interestingly there’s a bigger choice for sweet stuff than some warm food, only sausages and scrambled eggs.
However the room wasn’t spotless clean, it looked dusty and one of my towels was dirty too. They should really improve on that because otherwise it’s a good value hotel.

Bar no longer available. Went to eat at restaurant and was not made to feel welcome so decided to eat elsewhere. My travelling companion accidentally broke a lamp and was charged 1500 Czech Krona. Surely the hotel has insurance.

FIVE STARS! Front desk was super helpful, great taco place arond the corner ( a chain), simple but solid solid breakfast. Beds were not as comfortable as I would have hoped but it didnt really bother me enough.Awesome place overall.

It was a lovely older hotel with some exceptional upgrades. Air conditioning costs a bit extra but worth every penny during the hot summer days. And it was only 10 minutes by tram from Old Town. It is located in a very hip part of town so an easy place to get coffee and food that is not full of tourists.

I was a bit worried without AC in the room. However, the fan and the climate outside was in my favor. I slept very comfortably. Nice location outside of the inner city congestion, but close enough for a very pleasurable walk. You see the beauty of the city as you approach it from that side of the river. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel, get rid of bathroom sensor lights

The place is really nice! Very spacious. Clean, the staff of super friendly, gave me a great recommendation for a literally the best restaurant! The only thing I think they could improve is there is a bathroom light that turns on automatically, it’s a sensor, it’s really annoying in the middle of the night. If you have to go, pee, and then the light turns on and wakes you up so much! I told the staff about it as well and hopefully they’ll get that changed because both my son and I not to be able to go back to sleep.

I had a wonderful stay. Hotel is very clean and in a great location. The only complaint I have would be the limited outlets in the room. They were also located in awkward positions. There is no AC but there was a fan provided in my room.

The room was much too warm, and the air conditioning didn't work. One girl at reception thankfully was very attentive and provided me with a fan, which helped a bit (the old fella was completely unhelpful, saying 'what do you expect? it's 20 degrees outside!').

Everything else was fine - nice suite, hotel in a great location convenient for the Trade Pair Palace, Letna, and the river - and the rates were very reasonable.

Okay hotel, good transport into Prague.

We arrived into the room and the window was broken and we could hear everything outside.

They moved us to another room but it was more outdated and grubby. But it was not on the road and at the back of the property.

The hotel has a 1950-1970 feel to it

For 3 nights it was okay, I thought for what I paid it was a little over priced.

Reception staff were nice and informative

Breakfast is basic but there is plenty, I had fruit and muesli everyday.

There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which is absolutely fabulous and cheap!

I would stay here again for the right price.

Room not clean

Upon checking in the room looked fine at first glance. Later when I returned at night I noticed hair everywhere (bathroom floor, in the sheets). The bedroom floors obviously hadn't been cleaned as there was dust and hair on them. Also found an insect. I've stayed here before (years ago). I was really disappointed. The need to adjust their cleaning proctols.

The bathroom smelled like sewage. It was marginally clean, so I think there was something wrong with the plumbing. We had to keep the door shut to prevent the smell from inundating the bedroom. Also, the bathroom’s light was controllable only via motion, so it would turn off while you’re taking a shower and at night blind you.

The beds were not comfortable—old and had lost tension.

There was only one available outlet, behind the piece of furniture that held the water boiler.

The breakfast was good, however, and the staff were attentive.

Essentially, the room was quite bad but the breakfast made up for a lot.

First class hotel, great 4 Sparta prague stadium

Outrageously good value for money, we were over for the Sparta Prague v rangers match. The hotel is about 15mins walk to the stadium.

Hotel was first class, rooms clean and comfortable, reception staff amazing. Area is surrounded by bars and eating places.

The hotel itself looked rather dated and could do with modernization. The room could do with a full length mirror. Usb charging ports would also be beneficial. Very basic breakfast, with quite limited choice. Not enough help given when finding a seat. There was overflow seating upstairs but we had to find this ourselves. One of the lifts was out of order the whole stay meaning quite a delay for a lift sometimes. The room was quite a bit smaller than the pictures suggest. The noise from the trams outside can be quite loud.

Good location. Building maintenance is an issue. Motion activated bathroom light cycled on/off with almost no relation to actual motion. It would turn off while you were on the toilet or in the shower and turn on when noone was there. No switch to turn it off entirely. No water for several hours after check in due to building repairs.

Cheap but you get what you pay for....

We stayed there for 5 nights...the hotel is ok. The first room on the 4th floor we got was terrible. Extremely warm and stuffy they gave us a fan. The sensors in the bathroom and separate shower room were terrible. Lights went out every few minutes impossible to shower. TV wouldn't come on and hairdryer wouldn't work. On our 3rd night we were moved to another room on the 1st floor that was much better. The breakfast wasn't great either as the hot breakfast bits weren't very hot. There pastries etc were fine. Location was great as trams were very regular and easy to get into city. Overall its cheaper than other hotels but you get what you pay for. It was clean and ok....

El staff súper atento, el señor que nos atendió en el check-in hablaba Español y nos dio muchos tips. Súper fácil moverte en transporte público desde y hacia el aeropuerto y el distrito 1 de Praga. Si lo prefieres, también puedes caminar hacia ese distrito. El desayuno es bueno. Nuestra habitación siempre fue limpiada perfectamente. Estuvimos 5 días.

The staff are amazing. We especially LOVED our cleaning lady whom we dubbed the “ninja.” She did an amazing job in our room, she was in and out without missing a beat, provided a vase (without us asking for one) for my flowers and when I was sick she provided extra toiletries, again without us asking for any. The checkin counter staff gave us their personal floor heater for our 2 week stay because I was cold. It was as a great experience for my first time being out of the states. My only negative would be or maybe a suggestion more than a negative, add more fresh fruit and maybe oatmeal to the breakfast buffet. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again and recommend it whole heartedly to anyone looking for a great hotel while in Prague. Thank you Hotel Belvedere for taking such great care of us!

Horrible! A rock band party playing right above my bed in the breakfast room until 10pm. They didn’t stop tearing things down, running around, dragging chairs and tables across the floors, stomping and running up and down the stairs until midnight. When I called to ask about it they said they couldn’t exchange rooms and would only wave the city tax fee which was only 100czk. Not impressed AT ALL. How is it okay to have a huge party and full band right above a hotel room? I picked this hotel for the location, out of the crowds out of the loud noises of the city centre but when told why they would only give me a deal off the city tax the manager said that it was normal to have parties and loud noises in the city until 10pm. This is understandable but it’s one thing to have a party outside your hotel and QUITE another to have it right above your head with the stairs and doors slamming right next door. Extremely disappointed. I loved Prague until this. I wanted to sleep early as I had an 3am early departure so I only got 2 hours of sleep. Pathetic and I have no idea how they’ve gotten away with this before. If you do take a chance and book this hotel don’t book the business rooms they are right below the stage and any person here for business would not be able to sleep.
