This is a fabulous hotel, so unique and charming! It feels like you are stepping back in time to a different era. The hotel is clean with amazing decor. The staff was so friendly. You had an actual key to your room and when you left the hotel, they held on to it. The staff had excellent memories for which room we were staying in when we returned, no matter the time.

Hotel Hastal is a true gem in Old Town Prague and the last remaining family-owned hotel in the area. We stayed just before New Year’s Eve, and the location was excellent—quiet yet only a 7–8 minute walk to the Astronomical Clock, with the added convenience of taxis being able to drop you off directly in front.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out. We were greeted by Tom, the nephew of the owner, whose warmth and positivity immediately set the tone for our stay. Breakfast was included and very good, and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco and a cookie for New Year’s—a thoughtful touch.
There’s a comfortable lounge and dining area, complimentary coffee and tea available all day, and even house-made liqueur and wine for guests. We were also lucky to experience the final day of the hotel’s charming Banker’s Bar before it closed, and the staff there were phenomenal.
If you want to support a local, family-run business and enjoy genuine hospitality in Old Town Prague, I highly recommend Hotel Hastal.

Just made it back home to sunny Florida from Prague, and I wanted to share my experience. I’ll start with the only drawback: my transportation reeuestee from the airport to the hotel was uncomfortable. The taxi driver was a bit aggressive about payment, which made for a jarring arrival.
That said, everything after that was truly fantastic. The hotel is just a few blocks from Old Town, and the staff were kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms are small but charming and very clean, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel bar crafted some really creative drinks.
I can’t recommend this place enough! Prague is my favorite city, and when fate brings me back, I’ll definitely be staying at Hotel Haštal again.

At check-in the concierge was not friendly at all. Looked like a grumpy old person. The room was very small and basic. The TV is just a 15\" computer monitor on your desk.. Most of the channels don't have a signal. At the breakfast the juice was watery, the pastries were days old, no decaf, etc. Location is good.

This hotel is wonderful!! The hotel has an old fashion feel, but with modern amenities. It has a lovely garden area and cozy areas in the hotel where you can visit with your companions and with other guests. Breakfast, with prosecco, which is included, was super, and there is also a happy hour, with discounted drinks, in the early evening, at its totally cool bar. These people belong in the hotel industry as they are welcoming, accommodating, and so very friendly. If my room had cost a $100 (US) more, I'd be saying the same. In fact, they should charge more: with its low prices, people might be disbelieving and hesitate to book a room, but if the prices were higher, they would readily book a room and be glad they did. During my 65 years on this planet, I have been fortunate to travel frequently, and this hotel is one of my best finds ever.

Great location in Old Town. Typical European bedding-a duvet with no sheet. AC was not cool enough, so we would pull the covers on and off all night being too hot or too cold. Would be much better with a top sheet. Location is great, walkable to everything in Prague Old Town, New Town areas. Close to the river and bridges as well as the castle.

In close proximity to The most fun click I have ever seen: the astronomical clock on the hour changes with many figures moving. Be sure to arrive early as is crowded. Go to Charles Bridge for sunsets and lighting, but get there before so you can see the statues. Visit the castle across the river from Old Town for stained glass windows. The walk is either up many steps or a road without steps, both from the east side. Also a good view of Prague from the wall before entering the castle area. Pay for cathedral entry at Info building across from main door. Public transport is free for over sixty-fivers, and one ticket for 24 hours validated on first use for all others. A very good pizza place near the Old Town square.(the west side)

Situated in a quiet area but not far from The Square with restaurants and the famous astronomical clock. A great option if you want to say in Old Town. Excellent location. So much is only a short walk from the hotel and the tram is close if you are going further. The hotel itself is quite charming. The breakfast is absolutely top notch. Tons of great options. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Our particular room was a bit snug for two and the bathroom is a tight fit but not a big issue. The positives far outweighed that minor drawback. We would absolutely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Haštal hotel May 22-26. The hotel is located in a quiet section of Old Town but only 7 minutes walk from the city square. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is amazing - fresh fruit, eggs, sausages, several types of fresh breads, vegetables, cheese, salami, ham, boiled eggs, yogurt, muesli/granola with several toppings, pastries, cake. There is a complementary coffee machine in the lobby that makes great cappuccinos and they serve complementary wine on the weekend and give you a bottle of complementary liqueur in your room. Hotel has an elevator and air conditioning. There are several pubs and restaurants with 2-5 min walk. Area is very safe.
