Have always stayed at Cotswold House when visiting CT. My first visit back since COVID .
Such a warm welcome from all the staff .
Can’t fault this place . Great value for money . Great breakfasts Ideal location just outside CT . Local frequent buses to CT and only 15 mins walk to beach and amazing views of Table Mountain . Looking forward to coming back for my final week in mid February

Faultless.Period building with immaculate grounds.Large lounge and library to relax in if you didnt want to enjoy the pool and gardens. Excellent location very safe and quiet,but ideally located to explore Cape Town.If there is a better place to stay i would be extremely surprised.Breakfast gets the day of to a memorable start.Staff know what customer service is all about.I will return.Thank you to all concerned.

I always enjoy my stay at Cotswold House. I am always made to feel very welcome. Denise who works in the office is lovely and very friendly as is all the staff . Marlene who cooks is a lovely host to have at breakfast. Warm,friendly and a lovely smile. The outside space is lovely with a large outdoor pool. Nearby Maestro’s on the Beach Restaurant at Woodbridge has a fabulous setting overlooking the beach and view to Table Mountain. My Citi buses run regularly into the City and Waterfront. The area is safe and there are many nature reserves nearby. Would not hesitate to recommend the fab B&B to anyone. Great value for many as well😀👍👍

The room may have been small, but it had everything I needed for a 7-8 day stay. They served the BEST Breakfast I ever had; it was so convenient to take the bus to the Civic Centre and right by the sea. Very friendly staff. Hope to get the chance to visit the Cape town area in the not too distant future and stay here again

Great B and B in a lovely location

Cotswold House is a lovely B and B in Milnerton. The owner said and staff make you feel very welcoming. The breakfasts are great and meet your every needs.
There is the My Citi bus stop about 10 minutes walk and you can walk to the beautiful beaches in 15 mins. There is a nature reserve with lots of wildlife to see. Definitely can recommend this place.

A great guest house in the quiet residential suburb of Milverton, only 30 minutes drive from the airport. The staff were fabulous and the location is great. Has a nice big swimming pool. The breakfast is cooked to order and was excellent. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance too. Highly recommended.

It was a great stay in Cotswold house. A quaint little guest house run by an ederly couple - with free parking space, loved the place, its rooms and the general atmosphere. The location also is in a quiet and upscale neighbourhood away from the hustle bustle of the town. very near to the beach.
The owners/staff were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend this to people visiting capetown. Suitable for families as well.

This is an upmarket guest house

Lovely ensuite rooms , with fabulously comfortable bed, free Wi-Fi, free car parking, security a little Fort Knox, lovely people, even changed my flat tyre for my rental car and got me gluten free bread.
It has an outdoor swimming pool but as was their winter did not use. Breakfast well cooked but have had larger portions.

This was German hospitality at its best. The staff is also very friendly and helpfull. The management is very attentive to the needs of the guests. There are many good shopping centres within close driving distance.
The guesthouse is also close to public transport facilities to use tot hte scity centre

Beautiful house in Cape Town suburb

Third time at this hotel and always received a lovely welcome from Betina the owner and her staff. Many of the guests while we were there seemed to be return visitors which is a testament to the friendly welcome you receive. The gardens and swimming pool area are idylc and because there are only a small amount of rooms more often or not if you want to relax you have the pool to yourself. Short drive into the centre of Cape Town and a good base to explore the many sites of the city. Lots of nice beaches close by at Blougstrand and Big Bay just a ten minute drive away. I would very much recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning again on our next visit to Cape Town.

Amazing stay! Highly recommended!

This is a lovely convenient B & B for those that want good road access to the whole area without getting bogged down in traffic in Cape town itself. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. Using their local knowledge I was able to cobble together an \"off the hoof\" day tripping itinerary. Cotswold House is ideal for those who are hiring a car. I fully recommend the Darling suite with its lounge area as well as bedroom/ ensuite overlooking a lagoon with flamingoes and then beyond a golf course and the sea and Cape town in the distance. It does overlook a road too but it is not that noisy. The pool is lovely to swim in - very refreshing! Breakfast was excellent with friendly Chefs. The room cleaners are great too to the extent that they fold any stray/ crumpled clothes! I stayed a week here and it started to feel like home! Great value for money also. Cannot recommend more highly!

Home from Home at Cape Town

This was a truly lovely place to stay with wonderful staff and a home from home ambience. I felt safe, secure and brilliantly looked after-a lovely pool and comfortable surroundings. Slight drawback to my room was the proximity to the main road which was a little intrusive first thing in the morning rush hour but a very slight inconvenience to the overall peace and quiet. I had also arranged for a room with a bath but had a shower only room allocated. Worth checking. Again not a major issue. You need a car here but Cape Town was only an easy 10 minute drive away and it was fabulous to look out over the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain. If you are a walker, golfer or bird watcher a beautiful wide beach, golf club and a nature reserve with great birds are right outside. A gem for couples wanting a more sedate and relaxed type of guest house.

This is a very pleasant guest house, in an excellent location for us, easy to travel from by car in any direction. Parking facilities good. We were very well received, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast each day, we could choose whatever we wanted, and it was always served up with a smile! There is an excellent pool available, and we made use of it on a couple of occasions. We were grateful to Bettina, the manager, for her help in making our online checkin for our return flight. Altogether we really enjoyed our stay there, and, if ever we do return to South Africa, we would be happy to stay there again.

Our stay over Christmas and New Year 2013/14

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the hospitality offered us by Cotswold House. This is a well run family Guest House with excellent facilities, friendly staff and Owners and is also conveniently close to the beach - a short walk of five minutes. Cape Town is no more than fifteen minutes drive away and there is even a good direct bus connection to the City.
The breakfast choices are very enjoyable and the dining areas are fresh and inviting every morning.
The two swimming pools on site are both perfect for family breaks, indeed we had our pool to ourselves throughout!
Situated where it is Cotswold House offers very convenient driving distances to the key attractions such as the Game Parks and wine tours. So don't hesitate - book now!

Charged extra for late check-in. The caretaker who let me in wasn't the warmest person, but the woman in charge of breakfast was very sweet. I stayed there on a layover, so basically I just slept and left in the morning. The wifi worked well, so I was happy.

Very pleasant, pleasing, friendly B & B. Very good breakfast and could not ask for a nicer place to stay outside of Cape Town. A car is advisable, bus not that close and a taxi to Cape Town cost about $17, R140. Cabs are safe and easy to get.

The hotel is only a short drive from Cape Town waterfront and you can get there easily, and if you plan to travel elsewhere you can avoid the heavy traffic around Cape Town. Well worth a visit

Would defiantly recommend this guest house to others. The location makes it easy to get anywhere around the Cape Town area. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The guest house is set in lovely grounds and the pool is a real temptation to cool down after a hard days sightseeing. The full breakfast sets you up for the day and is plentiful. Would have no reservations about returning. The grounds and building are very secure without being obtrusive.

location is excellent, very close to major highways (i rented a car). very clean room with daily service. some issues we had: 1. it was no hot water the first day we arrived. 2. internet connection is limited in volume, so our provided access accounts were dried out very fast, even we did not use video skype etc. 3. there is a limited staff in the office. however, the personnel was very friendly and tried to solve these problems. overall, we satisfied.

I had an EXCELLENT stay at this guest house!!! Beautiful house, friendly/helpful staff, and very safe. Would highly recommend - in fact, I have already done so to several friends and colleagues who will be passing through Cape Town :-) My only teensy little complaint is that it is not close to town; fine if you have a vehicle, but if you're relying on public transit, can become a hassle after a few days. Excellent for couples, business travelers, or just regular old folks on holiday. Will stay here again.

Great friendly and quiet place

Got a great rate on this hotel since I stayed there in the dead of winter and one of its real draws is its proximity to the beach. Not much in walking distance other than the beach, but if you have a car you can get around quite easily. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the internet was lightning fast - faster than I get at most hotels in the US. Didn't take advantage of the amenities much other than breakfast (which was uniformly awesome), because I mostly used the place to sleep and work online. Would definitely stay here again. Not many other guests were there when I was, which was helpful since the quiet allowed me to get a lot of work done.

I think that this hotel is overrated. The hotel is quite far from the center and it takes about 1 hour to go to Waterfront by bus. It is much better to take a hotel at Waterfront, Civic Center or long street. The room and hotel was ok but nothing special. The service is nice. However, it is difficult to reach personal all the time and the breakfast is not special. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel because the location is too far from the center.

Fine accomodation at reasonable price

As indicated by my ratings the service was excellent. The staff were friendly. The B&B is located in a safe section of town; just north of the city center. I rode the new busline to a conference in Cape Town each day and the line is excellent. There is shopping close by; and several nice restaurants in the area. I fully recommend this B&B for business travellers and families.

After a long drive we were met by a maid and given the keys to our room, no information about the hotel or facilities was offered. During our stay we never saw or spoke to the proprietors, or indeed any staff, except for at breakfast. The hotel ticked all the boxes as far as facilities were concerned, but this was totally negated by the dreadfully impersonal service.

Pay the extra money and stay near the Waterfront - this place is NOT worth it.

The only good thing about this place was Betty, the housekeeper.

We rented 2 rooms for Cotswold House but we were placed in Lagoon Lodge across the street. One room was on the first floor and the second was in the ATTIC!
There are no screens on the windows, so all the bugs end up in your room. There is a \"fan\" in each room, but it didn't work and was extremely loud. They have free Wi-fi but only one device can use it at a time for each room. The \"attic\" room didn't have a standing shower so you were forced to bathe very uncomfortably in a tub. If you called the front desk for any assistance they had to call you back because the had no answers.

Location is not the greatest. On average, a taxi to the waterfront will cost you 120R each way ($16 US) which adds up very quickly. You could take a bus from the Woodbridge stop, but they stop running at 9:30 PM so you're forced to take taxis at night.

Only good thing...Betty. She prepared the breakfast every morning which was always great.

A lovely bed and breakfast--with a big plus

Very lovely setting-comfortable rooms. Full breakfast every morning-made fresh, with a smile and answers to questions and suggestions for local attractions. Bettina the owner went the extra mile for us during the Super Bowl-not a big deal in Cape town--but something we really wanted to watch. This gracious hostess invited us to her own apartment from 1am to 5am Cape town time, so we could watch our favorite team lose. We highly recommend this inn and its owners.

We booked this guest house for the start and end of a recent holiday in the Southern Cape and are very pleased that we did.We did not want to stay in the centre of town and this was a great compromise being close to a long sandy beach in a very safe neighbourhood.There are choices of good quality restaurants nearby although a car is really preferable.Of the many similar types of places that we stayed during our trip this property had by far the best pool and sitting area for relaxation.Our hostess gave us information on things to do and booked cable car tickets which saved us having to join an very long queue.The only minor irritant was that due to some unseasonably hot weather just before we returned home, we did find that the ceiling fan is no substitute for Air Con.

B & B - Easy access to main attractions

The house was very nice and clean. Even more the staff was so polite. At first I was unsure because it was a little ways away from town but quickly realized the ease and convenience to get to town. There was an express bus My citi walking distance from the house and only a few rand each way. VERY clean and reliable. Much cheaper than a taxi. The house is also walking distance from Lagoon beach. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Lovely stay near the beach

I went to Lagoon Lodge (across the road from the Cotswold) to get some work done and I needed access to the internet. Everything was great at the lodge, the people were exceptional, except access to the internet was intermitent. It was the only downside to this lovely site.

Excellent B&B- -would highly recommend it but a 10 minute drive to Cape Town. Bus nearby - 10 rand and convenient to CIty Center.

Great views and service, on MyCity bus line

Gorgeous little Cape Dutch B&B with amazing views of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean (across the lagoon). The staff were really helpful and friendly - they arranged cabs and tours for us, helped with laundry, and let us check in and out late. Breakfast includes eggs and bacon, in addition to a very nice continental breakfast buffet. Our room (Montague) was huge with a comfortable bed, dressing area, updated bathroom, and great view out the palladian window. There's also a nice pool and garden outside. The best part was that it's a short walk to the MyCity Busline (Woodbridge or Milnerton), and you can ride into Cape Town for about $1 US - it takes 15 minutes. (The busline is brand new, very clean and safe, and very convenient). We thought about possibly staying in the heart of the city, but were glad we stayed in a slightly quieter suburb - still very close to all the good sights, and it saved some money as well.

Would I recommend Cotswold House? Absolutely!

The House is run in a very professional and friendly manner by the hostess, who fluently speaks several languages. She and all her staff make it easy to settle in and are helpful with any questions that may arise during the stay: things to do, how to get a taxi, recommendation for nearby restaurants. The common rooms are very comfortable and inviting. The wireless, which was important for me, simply works. So you don't need to think about it again. Taking the MyCity bus into town and back is no problem at all. It runs regularly, the bus stop is just a 5 mins walk away and it is a 15 min bus ride. Walking back from the bus stop after dark is no problem, as it is a very safe neighbourhood. In exchange you are very close to a very peaceful stretch of a beach with a nice restaurant at the beach, frequented by Cape Townians rather than tourists. Overall I would choose it over any of the big city center hotels - it can be something like a peaceful oasis after a busy day.

The only trouble we had was finding the hotel initially as even once we turned on the road it is on, went down a different street without realizing the direction of the street we should have been on. Once we found it, though, it was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is provided and is filling with options of yogurt, toast, eggs, mushrooms, coffe, tee, juice, fresh fruit salad, cereal. The management was helpful in giving tips of where to go and copied a map for us of the immediate area.

Cotswold House

Second stay received a warm welcome from Bettina and Nic and staff. Lovely clean hotel with excellent facilities. TV in room not working but was'nt bothered as out most of the time. Good location but car essential to visit Cape Towns many attractions. Particulary enjoyed Maestro's on the Beach the local and nearest restaurant. Excellent food and welcome reasonably priced and superb views of table mountain.

Beautiful guesthouse - though better with a car

This guesthouse is beautiful, and great value for money. The breakfast was great - though despite it saying in the information booklet in our room that an earlier breakfast could be provided, this wasnt the case. However, the breakfast we did have was amazing! - restaurant quality!

It is accessible via the bus system, though it was 20 Rand each way from town, but we didn't mind too much. Its a nice area, but quite a way out of town. Surrounded by nice houses, and golf course.

Overall a great stay and would definitely go back!

Nice stay

Stayed for 2 nights and the owners went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant experience. Guesthouse beautifully furnished and clean with very nice breakfast and friendly staff. Lovely swimming pool and lounge area to relax.

Cotswold House in Capetown, RSA

Excellent little cottage house with a super helpful staff, great breakfast, and location with a 5-minute walk to the bus stop. Definitely would stay here again at this great price. Only consideration would be if you wanted to stay at or much closer to the V & A Waterfront. Bus system extremely clean, efficient, and safe, not to mention cheap!
