Good features, handy location.

They should upgrade the hotel with new bed quilts and proper pillows. Though the paid breakfast is a generous variety, they should provide facilities in rooms to make hot drinks. The need to ensure the kettle has enough cable to reach the power supply. The receptionist was friendly and approachable. The hotel is in a handy location for the train station and buses. There are nice walks into the forest. Very limited dining options.

the hotel is clean, nice breakfast, middle of the road of what one would expect in this area. A couple of suggestions for easy improvement would be to have the showers checked regularly (shower head didn;t stay in place when changed height), bigger towels (like it is customary in most hotels to have a true bath towel available) and thankfully it wasn't winter as the duvets are really tiny -- I know this is Germany, but it would really not have covered a normal sized person from shoulder to toe...
The real turnoff unfortunately is the person at the front desk (owner?) who made his dis-pleasure known when he learned that we had booked through Expedia - when I asked if there is a problem he started a rant about how much expedia takes as a commission and why I didn't book directly. When I explained that we were driving up from a different country and that I recall the price on the website to be considerable higher in Euros compared to the expedia site in CAD he kept on with his rant that i should have called to be given the proper price (why post something like Euro 159 when Expedia lists CAD 119 ? That's like a 100 CAD difference!!) when I just asked to let's move on and check in as we had just driven about 9 hrs, he got really prizzy and acted like a cross 15 year old teenager.. I remember similar attitude last year when I stayed there. It is unfortunate and certainly dampened the experience. We will re-evaluate if we'll stay in the same place next time we come back..

Very nice hotel, with an amazing owner! Lived the view from the balcony! Great breakfast as well. Fyi... its about a 45 min walk from the center... which i didnt mind, it's very nice and along the river (but or some that might be a problem) and i do not recommend the nearby grocery store... as it is overly expensive... even the one innthe center is cheaper 🙄. But as for the hotel, nice place with a very comfortable bed!

Be sure to tell guests that you can catch the 34 bus from Heidelberg hbf and be at the hotel in 22 minutes. On the map, the hotel looks farther away from the old town than it actually is.

3 nights in Heidelberg

Had a 3-night stay in lovely Heidelberg. The hotel is pretty decent for a solo traveler. The location is great, the view is perfect, breakfast is fresh and traditional. Staff is friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a simple and inexpensive place to stay, Neckarlux is your choice.

Cute comfy cozy hotel with a great view

We booked the Hotel for 3 persons, but the owner refused to provide a triple bed room. He insisted we buy another room or pay for an extra bed. Finally he let us just use an extra matress in the small room.
Also, parking was limited and needed to be reserved. We ended up parking on the street and the owner advised us where to look for street parking.
The location and view from this Hotel is awesome. The owners and his wife operat this hotel and were very hospitable in general.
We did not have breakfast, but the beer and coffee were good at a good price.

Very nice small hotel with a nice view of the Neckar River. The staff are very nice and enjoyable to talk to. Good breakfast which was not included in the base price. On site parking is also a 5 Euro extra and parking spaces are hard to get.

A great location for a stopover the hotel was easy to find with plenty of parking spaces although the room was small but for one person travelling it was ideal the breakfast was exceptional with a large Rieti of food to enjoy

This is a family run business and the manager was exceptionally helpful and friendly the rooms were comfy well lit and spotlessly clean
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone is either using the hotel as a stopover or planning to spend a few days there.
If you are travelling by car it’s 10 minutes to Heidelberg centre with plenty of parking facilities

Nice family owned and operated riverside hotel

Wonderful hotel on the Neckar River just outside Heidelberg. From Heidelberg train station, take the 34 bus to the hotel but make sure you are headed in the up river direction on the bus. Very convenient for the locations of my several appointments. Breakfast at hotel is excellent. A short walk from hotel is an Italian restaurant and a large EDEKA Supermarket. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit.

Great property close to Heidelberg. The workers/staff/..... now friends were great! Breakfast was excellent. Parking directly out front. I will stay here again, the staff were excellent. Only complaint was the WiFi would only work for me in the reception area and not in my room. Again a great stay!! Thanks guys for a wonderful visit !

Perfect as a stopover as we headed south. The staff were very polite and helpful even to the point of verbally giving the menu in English. Lovely location overlooking the river. Heidelberg itself is well worth a visit, the Schloss is magnificent

Nice staff, older building. Very clean. Only complaint was that it was very hot and muggy during our stay and there was no air conditioning. There were fans in some of the rooms, but not all. They have their own parking lot which is very nice. Our vehicle was too big for it though so we ending up needing to park several blocks away.

I had booked at another Neckar hotel, and last minute my booking was canceled by them, so I rebooked at another Neckar hotel. Unfortunately, that wasn't a great idea. It was hard to park there (they do have parking down a very steep slope behind the hotel), and in the end , we had to sort of park on the side walk in front. It was an older property, with furnishings from the 70's, that was all clean and functional - but just dated. The bathroom had visible meters for both hot and cold water in the wall... you get the picture. Just an old line hotel, but it was comfortable, and clean. Well kept.

Freundliche Mitarbeiter, Frühstück mehr als ausreichend. Für jeden Geschmack was dabei.
Vom Hotel aus, mit Bus oder Auto alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sehr gut zu erreichen.
Preis Leistung überzeugt.
Für einen erneuten kurz Trip nach Heidelberg gerne wieder.

Es una casa adecuada a hotel. Los anfitriones muy amables. Muy convenientemente ubicada cerca de la ciudad, tienes opción a recámara con vista al rio. De hotel esta muy cerca un minisuper para abastecer cosas básicas. No tiene elevador. El desayuno que provee es una charola de carnes frias y quesos, café, jugo y un huevo cocido. Supongo porque es tradicional de la cultura Alemana, yo recomendaría no pagar el desayuno. La habitación en donde me hospedé en el baño tiene una tina y la regadera está en una ubicación poco conveniente (en medio de la tina) Las gomas estaban desgastadas entonces era complicado poder acomodar el brazo de la regadera para apuntar hacia uno.

Très bon accueil. Malgré notre arrivée très tardive, le réceptionniste nous a attendu 15 mn après la fin de son service. On le remercie 1000 fois.
Chambre spacieuse, literie confortable, salle de bain agréable et bien équipée.
Cadre magnifique avec vue sur la rivière et les collines.
Petit déjeuner très bon et complet.
Service au top merci aux 3 personnes rencontrées à l accueil du soir, du jour et au restaurant. Nous conseillons ce havre de paix. Parking disponible c top !

Godt hotel, meget venlig vært, god morgenmad, værelserne var rene. Bussen holder lige ude foran døren, hvis man vil ind til Kassel (tager 8 minutter med bus). Restauranter i byen havde ferielukket da vi var der, men 1,5 km fra hotellet lå en italiensk restaurant, hvor maden var rigtig lækker. Alt i alt et godt ophold.

Wir hatten leider keinen Neckarblick, sondern ein Zimmer nach hinten. Direkt neben einer kleinen Straße, die aber doch regelmäßig befahren wird insbesondere auch durch LKWs Busse. Dann wackelt das ganze Zimmer. Lautstärke ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Alles ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen aber sauber und ordentlich. Da gibt es nichts zu meckern.

Hyggelig stemning, fremragende modtagelse. Super rent værelse og gode senge med lækkert sengelinned. Desværre var restauranten lukket om onsdagen, men den flinke vært anbefalede en restaurant i nærheden som vi benyttede os af. Alt i alt en god oplevelse.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sauber.
Ein Nachteil sind die Straßen zu beiden Seiten des Hotels. Zimmer mit Balkon schaut auf den Neckar, der hinter der Landstraße fließt.
Zimmer ohne Balkon auf der Rückseite, liegt direkt an der Dorfstraße. Im Sommer mit offenem Fenster da ist es extrem laut. Der Bus fährt alle 20 min am Hotel vorbei.
Das Frühstück war ok aber nicht herausragend.

Die Busanbindung zur alten Brücke/ Altstadt war top.
