The room was very tiny, but clean. It was close to the old area of Heidelberg. There were no tourist brochures or maps. Only plastic chairs in the room. Lobby was devoid of any furniture. It was far too expensive for such a basic room.

The Mille Stelle allowed us to store our bags before the arrival time. The room was small but enough room for us to easily move about. There were dining options and shopping within easy walking distance. Water and tokens for coffee were included for each days stay. On our last night, there were people talking outside at 3am. As a light sleeper, this woke me up. But it was only one night out of three. Would recommend the Hotel Mille Stelle.

Self check in system took a little getting used to.
Room was spacious and spotless.
We had a small problem with the shower which was dealt with quickly but be aware that the front desk is only staffed afternoon and evening. Could be a problem outside those hours.

Good value hotel in Heidelberg

Good value-for-money hotel about a 12-minute walk from Heidelberg central station. Check-in was friendly and quick, room compact but clean and comfortable and the WiFi strong. My only gripe was the uncontrollable shower water temperature that would shift between very hot and very cold without touching the gauge.

The hotel is between the train station and the old town. But the location is not too walk-friendly for both the train station (especially carrying the luggage), and the town area. Self-checkin/checkout. All the detailed instructions are left on the room table. But the staff's response was quick after messaging when I have additional question or request.

Excellent accommodation. Very easy self check-in via kiosk, so it was no problems to arrive late. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I did not like the pillows. Excellent location in between the old town and train station. Safe and quiet. Would highly recommend!

Located nicely not far from the train station, we were able to store our luggage before official check-in and when the check in was done, it was a self check in, which was very smooth. Room was clean. Came with essentially such as towels, sanitary products, sockets to charge tech items. Also were provided with complimentary hot drink and water.

I liked that it was on a side-street and quiet yest in a convenient location. I would prefer a real person to a check-in machine.
I didn't like that the shower door was broken and apparently a previous guest brought it the the attention of the staff. There was a front desk attendant for a few hours and I reminded him of the issue but there was no effort to fix it. It made it awkward to shower. Additionally, there is a sensible note suggesting the guest reuse the towel, which is commendable yet there were no towel racks to allow said guest to dry the towel. That's plain ridiculous. I showed the attendant. If management is paying attention, they should provide a partial refund.

We had booked the small apartment that can house 4 adults for a quick weekend trip around Heidelberg. We were pleased with the location, the easy self check-in as well as the room itself. The room/apartment was very clean and spacious!
Parking is available about 3 or 4 blocks south from the hotel, in a parking garage located next to a city Edeka grocery store. The daily rate for your car being parked there for 24hrs is €18. There are multiple locations where you can get coffee, baked goods as well as grocery stores to bring back some things to the hotel (the apartment did have a fridge available in the kitchen). Overall, a very wonderful stay, if you like being in the city center and walking distance to all the sight seeing around Heidelberg :)

We stayed in the apartment. It was very spacious and comfortable. Has a kitchen area. The only uncomfortable part is there is no AC and it was hot and humid when we were there. The hotel can't control the weather but something to think about if you are traveling in the summer. Easy self check in and out. Easy access to transportation and food. Nice place to stay.

Affordable option, close enough to walk in to old Town. Very clean room. I only stayed one night but for others to stay longer, would be nice to have a small fridge.

My check in experience was not the best. Could be clearer communication about the process. I arrived before check in time so could not use the self check in machine. No one was at front desk. There was a number on a sign to call but it took me some time to realize this as it did not stand out very well. I was able to call and the person who answered got the cleaner to open for me so I could store my luggage until check in time. If I did not have a sim card for Germany I would have been stuck outside indefinitely with my luggage.

The overall hotel/room is really nice. the location is close to the train. I had a car and there wasn't any place to park close by. I had to park in a garage and didn't mind because it was safe but the cost added to my trip 20 euros and it was about 5 blocks away.
There is not any hotel staff except for the housekeeping staff. If there is an issue there is no way to resolve it.

We rented a suite and it was really like an apartment! There a full kitchen and could accommodate a family for an extended stay. It’s conveniently located near delicious restaurants, great shops, and walking distance to the river and old town. When we come back we want to stay here again.

The automatic check-in facility was straightforward and easy to use. I didn't deal with any staff at all, that's why I haven't rated them in this review. Very convenient and rather pleasant location. The coffee machine appeared to be only useful to prepare the coffee they provide for free. It's not a kettle, so I don't think it can be used for making noodles or anything else, though I didn't actually try it. Also I couldn't find any kitchen in the hotel. In any case, the experience of my stay was positive.

The hotel is underrated. It offers comfort away from home.

Strategically located, it is walking distance to the city centre (Bismarckplatz).

The self-check-in option was extremely convenient, especially for guests arriving at night.

The bed was comfortable and the high ceilings ensured good airflow. The noise isolation was also commendable.

All the necessary amenities were provided and changed on time. Other than that, we did not have any interactions with the staff.

The stay was really amazing overall.

The hotel is walkable with luggage from the main station. Area is okay and the Black Whale round the corner does an excellent breakfast. Odd that the hotel is basically unstaffed and we had some late noisy arrivals one night which was irritating. Great rooms, small but comfortable. Shower is tiny 3 ft sq but good hot water. Coffee machine will mess you up if you choose large because the coffee cup provided will overflow! Overall a ten for this hotel if you are going to be busy during the day and just sleeping here. Also close to shopping and Altstadt and castle. We walked everywhere.

Comfortable bed, big room with two chairs (and to be honest, I'm thrilled with any hotel room that has two chairs in it!), quiet, pastry shop one block over! Easy walking into the city. Be sure to take the funiculars from the Corn Market all the way to the top of Molkenkur. The views are amazing!

The room was very comfortable and clean, but quite basic. Check in service was an outside automatic machine that was very simple to use. The walls were incredibly thin, but fortunately the neighbours were quiet. It’s a 20 minute walk from the train station, and 5 minutes from the nearest tram stop, just a bit longer than I expected with luggage.

Everything was perfectly fine except for the temperature in the rooms (maybe i got unlucky this week as its a bit hotter), particularly on the 3rd floor rooms. Air conditioning really needed to get a decent nights sleep. Rating is very high otherwise. Self service system worked fine, no problems. Wifi also fine.

The location was close to the city center and transit. Rooms were very nice, and spotless. Overall it was a great deal. The only reason I didn’t rate it higher in service is because they have limited staff hours at the front desk and an automated check-in system for when they’re not there. It keeps costs down, I guess, but sometimes I like having someone there to ask questions.

Overcharged after problems with my reservation

At my arrival, the check-in system did not recognize my last name, because it was mispelled.
It was 10 PM, and I had to reserve a new room (a single room which costed 49 euros). On the next day (Sunday) I found a cleaning lady in the hotel and explained her my problem. She told me I should wait for one of the manager to show up. I spent the rest of the morning waiting, but nobody contacted me. I had to left for work. There was not contact during the whole day. That evening, I was lucky that a colleague was staying at the same hotel. Thus, I could call the hot line with her. They provide me with my originaly reserved room, but overcharged me for the room for the additional 3 nights. Regarding the problem to get my room, they just said it was a problem of how my name was written in my reservation. I talked with a lady on the last day of my stay, and she said she would look into the situation with the general manager. They have not contacted me at all.
The whole situation was very distressing. I was lucky there was a room left on the first day. Otherwise, I would have find myself at 10 at night on a snowy weather, after a 24-hour trip, with no place to stay. I can understand there could be problems with my name, but I can not understand that the hotel would overcharged me for the room after the problemas I had. I would appreciate if Hotels.com makes sure that the room-price is honored (In fact my original price was higher than that of my colleague). Thanks

Very quiet and safe neighborhood, and walking distance to both the train station and Hauptstrasse. Room was very clean. Check in was super easy. Loved the in-room espresso. Only downside is that there is only staff there 3 hours a day.

Nice hotel close to town

Our stay at the Hotel Mille Stelle City was positive. The hotel was clean and modern and our room had good facilities. The hotel is located in the newer part of Heidelberg but is in walking distance of the altstadt (old city).

The pod coffee machine in the room was good, easy to make a nice coffee first thing in the morning. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator, so we could keep food in the room for breakfast.

The check-in process was easy, using the portal at the front door. Reception is staffed from 3pm-8pm but there are no staff outside these times. This was no issue. The staff were quite friendly and booked us a taxi one evening.

There is no parking right by the hotel, but there are instructions provided for parking stations nearby. We parked at the 'P1' station which cost about 16 Euro for 2 nights.

Great location close to Altstadt, clean hotel...

Spent only 1 night while traveling on to Bamberg. Located in nice neighborhood within easy walking distance to stores, shopping, Altstadt, the Neckar river, etc. Check-in was easy, rooms were very clean and comfortable, 1 was a little on the smaller side more \"dorm\" like but was okay as we didn't plan on staying in the room much anyway. The person at the front desk was very personable and friendly, had no problems.

Impeccably clean, but note minor inconveniences

Overall, I was very satisfied with the condition of the hotel. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the decor was very pleasing. However, I am hesitant to give my best recommendation for several small reasons. First, there was no air conditioning, but a small, noisy table fan that rattled during the night. Additionally, although subjective, I found the bed to be very uncomfortable. Finally, the surrounding neighborhood was a bit loud at night, and it was easy to hear the footsteps of the guests walking above.

Please be advised that the hours of the help desk are very limited, and this may create obstacles, especially for someone like myself who traveled from afar and needed some suggestions for navigating the city. Otherwise, the desk staff were absolutely pleasant, cordial, and willing to help while there!

Overall, I'd rate the hotel 3.5/5 stars. I felt safe and secure during my stay, which is probably the quality I look for most in hotels.

We arrived at approx 8.30pm and there was no-one in reception. We had phoned earlier to say that we would be a bit late and was told that we could use the computer check-in but didn't realise that there wouldn't be anyone there to offer any help. For example, we didn't know where to park the car or where to get breakfast or how to get into the city. The receptionist arrived the next day at around 10.00am but hadn't arrived by 11.00am the following day when we were checking out. We helped two sets of guests, one set who couldn't get the computer check-in to work and the other who wanted to know where to store his bags for the day whilst he did some sightseeing. Some basic information would have been good. The room was very basic (IKEA furnished) but clean and a fridge and a kettle would have been appreciated.

Hotel is brand new (or very recently refurbished) so everything was clean and in good repair. The hotel has an automated Check-In system in case there is no reception when you arrive which is handy. However, its not so great that the reception is not always attended because I was unable to make some requests/leave Left Luggage etc although this may be available and I just didn't see it. Hotel is located quite close to main street of Heidleburg (less than 10 minutes walk) so location is good. There was no air conditioning but a fan was provided which was better than nothing. Also, when it says \"twin bed\" it in fact means \"single\" bed... Would stay again!

Zimmer in renovierungsbedürftigem Zustand, aber bemüht. Matratzen sehr gut. Bei uns war die Badetür billigst und mind. 30 Jahre alt (quietscht, schließt maximal schlecht bis nicht), was dann bei einem nächtlichen Toilettengang den Partner erfreut und einen selbst ärgert.
Heizung mit nachts ordentlichem Geräuschpegel, und sehr hellhörig generell.

Preis-Leistung okay

Der große Pluspunkt ist die top Lage - günstiger kann man für den Preis nicht in der Innenstadt unterkommen. Gut zu allen Tages- und Nachtzeiten zugänglich (Keycard). Sauber (bis auf etwas schwarzen Schimmel in den Ecken der Duschfugen und Abrieb / dunkle Flecken an der Wand). Sehr freundliches Personal. Zudem nach außen hin sehr gut schall-isoliert. Pluspunkte gibt es zudem für das kostenlose Getränk pro Tag sowie die hygienisch eingeschweißte Fernbedienung.

Abstriche muss man beim Komfort machen (winziges Zimmer, unbequemer Plastikstuhl, Fernseher hängt ungünstig). Insbesondere gibt es kaum Ablageflächen. Im Bad ist z.B. nur ein sehr schmales Brett über dem Waschbecken; ansonsten kann man nur Sachen neben der Klospülung deponieren. In der Dusche gibt es gar keine Ablagemöglichkeit.
Das Hauptproblem ist jedoch, dass man vom Flur jedes Geräusch und eigentlich auch jedes Wort hört. Wer nicht schläft wie ein Stein, wird sowohl spät nachts als auch sehr früh morgens von anderen Gästen geweckt.

Für ein paar wenige Tage okay - gerade aufgrund der tollen Lage. Aber erholsam wegen der Hellhörigkeit im Haus leider nicht. Ich würde gerne mehr Sterne vergeben, weil mein Gesamteindruck eigentlich positiv ist und das Personal sehr bemüht wirkt, aber es ist leider innerhalb des Gebäudes zu laut.

Netter Empfang und unkomplizierter CheckIn. Wir bekamen als Upgrade die schöne Ferienwohnung. WOW! Ist die schön. Schade, dass wir wegen einer Feier nur für wenige Stunden zum schlafen da waren. Parken (Sa auf So) war problem- und kostenlos um die Ecke auf der Bahnhofstraße.

There was no extension cord although the room only had one plug at the far end of the room far from desk and bedside. THe hotel staff told me that there usually is a tube? for the specific room, but it was missing.

I also would appreciate you open the coffee machine all through the night. I wanted hot drink while working late, but the machine had closed down.
