The hotel is located steps from the Old Bridge! My wife and I had a great time at the hotel. We were very lucky to have been there while the entire town was celebrating the anniversary of the Old Bridge and it was awesome! There were food and beer stands around the city and the hotel. Lots of great German food! We walked every where without a problem. The castle was an amazing experience and so was walking all over Old Town. We definitely loved our stay at Hotel Holländer Hof!!!

I love this hotel. I’ve stayed several times over the last 12 years and always have a wonderful time. The area is perfect, the staff kind and thoughtful, and some of the rooms have breathtaking views. Any time I go to Heidelberg, this is where I’ll stay.

Good but some minor quibbles and a major one.
The low final assessment is based on what was the most disappointing breakfast I've encountered in over 30 years of continental holidays. I chose the light option as I don't enjoy cooked breakfast (22 euros anyway!) but guests were presented with a small tray without any choice of bread, cooked meats and cheese. Even the jam was prescribed.
My room was spacious enough but the main light switch was nowhere near the head of the bed. Also the lift does not reach fourth floor rooms so one flight of stairs has to be negotiated. Not ideal for an 80-year-old with a heavy suitcase. (Pre-booking research needed!)

We lived in Germany over a decade ago and Old Town was a regular weekly visit for us. Staying at the Hollander was incredible! It’s beautiful, rush with history and within walking distance to everything local, including hopping on the train!

I highly recommend for your stay in Heidelberg, the room was clean and comfortable and the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly - perhaps the best staff we encountered during a 10 day 5 city EU tour. We loved the location of the hotel. We were never more than a 20 min walk to any of the Christmas Markets in Heidelberg. The hotel was excellent and our room had a view of the river and of the bridge. The staff was amazing and so patient with all of our questions. Our only feedback was the room was a bit too warm to our liking, even with the radiator turned off.

Super convenient location. The brass monkey statue is literally right out the front door. Excellent staff that is helpful and friendly. I enjoyed this hotel tremendously. A 19thc hotel that has undergone recent renovations - quiet, pleasing design in both rooms and public areas. Good breakfast options in a bright, spacious room. Staff were welcoming, helpful. Needing a doctor at one point the front desk called a taxi, came out to give the driver the address and thirty minutes later I'd seen the doctor. Highly recommended.

This is a great place to stay. It’s an older hotel but for sure one of the better in the area. Our only complaint was off loading bags but once you figure out that it’s easy. If you take public transit you won’t even have to worry about the chain. Breakfast buffet is very German so research German breakfast before choosing. Laura at the front Desk did great!!

The hotel is situated ideally in the historic district of Heidelberg, along the river Neckar, right at the entrance to the famous \"Alte Brücke\" that crosses it and provides an excellent view of the castle. Facing the river and the bridge, the view from my room was stunning.
The room for one person was small but not cramped, very clean, with nice wooden furniture that included a comfortable bed with quality bedding.
The hotel is in an historic building, but the renovated, tiled bathroom with corner shower did not show that. The only complaint I had was that the water in the shower would change temperature unexpectedly.
I purchased the \"business breakfast\", consisting of coffee, orange juice, fresh rolls, lunch meat, cheese and jelly; I did not observe what the more expensive buffet style breakfast included.
The hotel lobby and facilities are furnished in an older style that I found inviting; everything is kept very neat and clean. Despite this being an old building, there are elevators to get to the upper floors.
The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful - overall this was a pleasurable stay and I would certainly go back.

Just one night. Location can’t be any better. Hotel is old but still functional. There isn’t even a bottle of water for free and the fridge is filled up things to attempt you to spend more.
