This hotel is a few steps away from the main Heidelberg train station. It was very nice after a long travel to walk one minute to the hotel and rest. It was reasonably clean and the breakfast was also decent. However, this hotel is let down by the tiny bathroom. I've stayed in many hotels (including Ibis hotels) and this was by far the smallest bathroom I've experienced. An airplane bathroom is actually more comfortable to use. I think someone above average height or weight would find it quite uncomfortable to use the bathroom. The area around is busy and noisy which is normal for a main train station area.

Logistically ideal since train,bus,tram and taxis are 1min away. My room looking to the bus/taxi terminal (and busy road, but no train traffic) was very quiet, due to good glazing of windows. The windows could be opened up to safety catch (gets some fresh air in if need be). Interior was quite modern/fresh and lighting (bed-side as well as ovrhed) was adequate. To step into Shower tray might be (for stepping in) a tad too high for some but not too excessive and definitely way better than a bath-tub szenario. Bathroom window could be opened as well.

Nice stay in Heidelberg

This hotel has very good location; easy access to transportation, eateries and groceries. The room we were in was on the small side but not too small- minimalist and efficient. The breakfast was consistently tasty and filling. The receptionists and people working there all were friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel is next to railroad tracks surprisingly not much noise to notice.

This hotel had the worst bed I have ever slept in. While the hotel was clean, and the location was close to the center of town I would never stay here again. The bed had a small foam top over some mattresses that was lumpy, and hard It was impossible to get a good night sleep! Folks the most important part of a hotel is the BED and this one SUCKS. Buy this hotel new beds. If it wasn't for the beds I could be a 4-star hotel

The room was the size of a shoebox and there was no storage for clothes apart from a few coat hangers. The bathroom was tiny as well with hardly any room to move. No tissues or tea and coffee provided in room either. However, the breakfasts were excellent and the hotel is located right next to the train station but it is a long way from the old part of town where the famous castle is located,

This would’ve been a five star rating for sure. Friendliest staff we’ve experienced, but the bathroom was easily the smallest bathroom in a hotel room I have seen in my 20 years of travel throughout Europe. My hope is the other rooms have larger bathroom bathrooms.

The location is great, right next to the main trans station, however if you have a rental car, you have to pay the hotel parking 10€/day. We decided to walt to city center, a good 30 min walk, i def thought it would be closer. The shower didnt work at all, and i actually got burned.

Breakfast was basic. I requested ahead gluten & lactose options for my breakfast and they “only” offered GF bread. The room
is very small & the bathroom tiny. The beds & pillows are hard as a rock. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel before the check in. The A/C wasn’t cool enough.

Short 2-night stay at Heidelberg

It met my expectations of a basic budget hotel - clean room, minimal unnecessary waste in toiletries, and a comfortable bed. The receptionists were friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that the room (431) is practically next to the rail tracks, and it did suffer from noise (despite what the other reviewers say) even with the window shut. The walls are quite thin, so I could also hear people speaking in the corridors and doors banging, which were irritating. The location is perfect - within walking distance of the Hauptstrasse. Heidelberg is a city for walkers.

The rooms were quite small and the bathroom was teeny tiny! I don't mean tight, I mean way too tight! Nearly too tight to even be able to use the toilet! The shower was another thing. The best way to describe how to use the shower is soap up the wall before getting in, turn on water, get in with arms up or down, then spin! It was nearly too tight to be able to raise or lower your arms! They were currently renovating the breakfast buffet so it really wasn't much for choices. Oh and the parking was about 200 yards away from the back of the hotel! That's a good hike if it's raining!

Ibis Heidelberg is a great location for those travelling by train as the station is only metres away from the hotel my room is small however it was comfy and clean.
I was very impressed by the breakfast l you have a large variety of food to have whether it be a continental type breakfast scrambled egg and bacon as an alternative.
And I found the staff friendly and happy to help with any query.
However I did find one issue the amount of parking spaces being a large hotel it has about 15 spaces in front entrance of the hotel and to be honest I didn’t feel happy parking there with one or two dodgy people Hanging around,
There is additional parking at the back of the hotel but you have to be careful not to park by the train station as you could be fined €30 there is more parking space right down the bottom by the platform but it’s a long walk if you have luggage to carry. I was fortunate that I was able to park for the three nights right outside the back of the hotel other people I observed were not so lucky but saying all that I stay at the Ibis was enjoyable

Although the hotel is located next to the train station, we didn't hear anything from the station.
The room has the right size for a short stay in the hotel. The breakfast had everything for us and all the products were very fresh and tasty.
Has the perfect location in Heidelberg. In walking distance from the Altstadt for sightseeing tours.

Perfect for a one night stopover.

Hotel is everything you expect from Ibis - clean and modern. It's located right next to the station, although no noise can be heard from the trains. There is not much to do or eat around here, a McDonald's and a restaurant next door, but the old town is only a short tram ride away. This was perfect for a one night stopover.

Always been my favorite hotel near to any Major Train Station, this one a few steps passing Macdonald’s at Heidelberg then 15 minutes away to the Old Town, Tram is infront of the Hotel. A great 2 nights stay, clean and lovely room. Highly recommended!

Bad experience and not recommendable at all. Air conditioning didn't work in our 2 rooms, And the windows were blocked...very noisy area all night long, micro tiny bathrooms where a normal person doesn't fit and they send you to the restrooms of the cafeteria...

The hotel is almost completely renovated. Our room was small, but beautifully and efficiently done, the beds good size and comfortable. The bathroom, all renovated, is tight in space and if someone is obese I think it could be too narrow to move around in. The bullseye window has partly clear glass and no curtain which makes it possible to look inside, especially in the winter when there are no leaves on the trees. The rooms were very quiet despite the building being located between a busy street and train tracks due to new windows. BREAKFAST is definitely worth the 12 Euro, delicious and plentiful choices!! Overall we had a great stay. The location is a bit outside of the old town but due to it being next to the train station very well connected by public transportation. Plenty of parking was available (not limitless though).

Extremely loud at night from partying guests in the hotel. My wife and I did not get to sleep until 4am. We complained to the front desk attendant who spoke to the party room but they continued well into the night regardless. Overall it was an awful stay.

Clean and comfortable hotel right next to the main train station. It's very convenient if you arrive and depart by train. It takes less than 30 minutes on foot to get to the old town but it is also very convenient to take the bus right across the road.
Staff is friendly and helpful, and check-in/out was quick. It's a good place to stay if you don't mind being further away from all the main tourist spots. I didn't mind the walk to the old town, especially as the weather was good.

The hotel is so close to the main station and bus stops. There is also a McDonalds next to it so you don’t have to worry about food issue at midnight. The staff is very helpful all the time. But they don’t provide bottle water so you’d better prepare your own container and go to the counter to ask for water refill.
