Beautiful location right on the river with views of the bridge and just a short stroll to all the best Old Town has to offer. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and has everything you need. You will love the historic sightseeing filled walk to the tram up to the castle. The bus stop is right in front of this boutique hotel. Perfect for a getaway in Heidelberg. And make sure to grab a meal at Vetter's Alt Heidelberger Brauhaus. Perfection!

Highly recommend staying at the Hotel Villa Marstall as it's a classic and very beautiful hotel to stay while visiting Heidelberg. Very walkable area to the Alstadt area and the Hiedelberg local attractions. The breakfast is fresh and tasty. The only challenge is parking. There is no parking at the hotel itself due to the narrow streets. One can park in any number of garages ranging from 15-30 minutes walking time. Regardless, LOVE my visit to the Hotel Villa Marstall. 5 gold stars!

We managed the self check- in without difficulty but that and the lack of reception support made the place feel soulless. Unusual too not to have a kettle or any other means of making a hot drink.

Not just because the location was great, but the rooms were super nice, it was incredibly quiet even though it was right next to a busy street, the river view was magnificent, and the staff could not have been more accommodating! We only stayed one night but really loved this place! Very clean and in a great part of the city. A little bit of a hike up a lot of stairs to get to the castle but fun to hike if you are prepared for that. Really no parking even though it advertises that there is parking nearby. We had to park far away and walk back. Overall we would recommend Villa Marstall if you are ok with walking.

I absolutely love the location of this hotel! It offers stunning views of the lake, and the main street with all the shops is just a short walk away. Conveniently, there’s also a bus station right across the street, making it easy to get around. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall experience. I appreciated thoughtful amenities like a refrigerator, an iron and ironing board in the room, and the convenience of an elevator, which was especially helpful with our luggage. The breakfast was delightful, with a wide variety of offerings to suit every palate. This will definitely be our go-to place whenever we visit Heidelberg!

It was a perfect location for us to explore Christmas market. We took a bus from the nearest station and the bus stop was happened to be almost right in front of the hotel. That was a nice surprise after a long international flight.
The check in was a breeze and the front staff was very nice and we were able to checkin and get into our room before 3 as the room was already clean.
The checkout went smoothly. We had a different staff and she was also so friendly.
We didn’t choose breakfast option this time as we had another plan so I cannot comment on that.

First of all-- the staff were incredible! They personally messaged several days ahead of checking in to confirm our expected arrival time, and offered recommendations for travel to Heidelberg from the Frankfurt Airport that was super helpful. We ended up arriving just as the hotel staff were starting their day, and they promptly led us to our room so we could immediately try to alleviate the jet lag!

Exceptionally friendly staff with a beautiful hotel in a great location. As with any place in this part of Europe, the rooms can be a bit warm this time of year, but I don’t believe this was much of a problem as there was a fan in the room and fantastic windows. Best of all was Jessica who runs the desk. She was very friendly and speaks perfect English. She was very helpful organizing a cab and a shuttle for an early morning trip to Frankfurt airport. This is the second time we've stayed at Hotel Villa Marstall in Heidelberg. We love everything about it and highly recommend it. The rooms are spacious and clean with a nice bathroom and some have a view of the beautiful Neckar River. It is just down the block from the main shopping street and restaurants and other conveniences are all around. Short walk to the bridge and across to the Philosopher's Way - beautiful walk with incredible views of Heidelberg. The breakfast is amazing and the people who work there are wonderful. We can't wait to go back!

Villa Marstall is conveniently located right on the river in the heart of the old town, close to the Alte Brucke bridge. There are bars and restaurants just steps away.
Our room was large and airy with a 12 foot ceiling and looked out at the river. A huge four poster bed, a couch and easy chair graced the room. Everything was spotlessly clean.
The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful, as were the kitchen staff in the charming breakfast area in the cellar. Breakfast is 15 euros and well worth it.

My wife and I had a great first floor room overlooking the small square and my daughter was on the top floor in the cutest room with skylights and an amazing view of the river. This is a gorgeous place to stay! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the property is impeccable and superbly located on the Necker a few minutes walk from the Alte Brücke. My room was a single on the top floor, small but more than adequate for a single guest, charmingly decorated, with a skylight window and a small (and useful) fridge was included. I didn’t try the breakfast but I will next trip, as I will surely return to this jewel of a hotel!

Beautiful boutique in perfect Heidelberg location
I come to the Heidelberg area often for business, and when I do, I stay at Villa Marstall if at all possible. It is a carefully restored private villa right in the heart of everything, yet on a very quiet street facing the incredibly beautiful Neckar river panorama. The staff is friendly--it feels almost like a really nice B&B--and the breakfasts are delicious. I don't know quite why, but this is one of my favorite stays in all my frequent travels.

Excellent unique hotel convenient to everything in the old city area. My very cool room overlooked the river. Was next to the main river road, but most all traffic ended by sunset and was very quiet all night. Beautiful decor and high ceilings, four post bed. Good price too. Take the 3 hour boat ride $22.00 up the river....the boat docs about two blocks down from this hotel.
