You can protect your valuables from staggered housekeeping days that you're aware of but not from random cabin check ins which are conducted here. Having packed a ton for this trip it unfortunately took us until we returned home and fully unpacked 5 days later to accept that my high-end Sony headphones were taken from our Cabin, the last place I saw them and same day we saw a staff vehicle parked in our lot that was there for the cabin check in. According to Sophia of Disney Resorts Claims, 5 whole days from check out was a very long time to claim a loss and she was well programmed to blame me at all costs to save a couple hundred dollars despite the $1300 it ran us to stay here for a couple nights and as I quote from her, \"Disney Resorts accepts NO responsibility for theft by staff\". Also the floors were in need of a good mopping based on the how our feet looked and the rest of the place in need of a good cobweb dusting. Disney must be cutting costs in housekeeping and saving money on background checks based on this experience. EGREGIOUS for a higher tier Disney Resort. Disney resorts will get zero dollars from us going forward and they won't feel it.

My family and I absolutely loved it here. We have stayed at many resorts but this is one that we will definitely go back to. Very easy check in, easy parking, cabins were very clean and eco friendly and very spacious for 8 people, 3 children and 5 adults. We all slept comfortably and there was so much to do on the grounds, we really didn’t need to leave to stay entertained.

Fort Wilderness is a HUGE camp ground and offers many wonderful “camping” experiences but at the same time because it’s such a geographically large campground, it’s very very difficult to get around to the amenities inside the campground.

We had a great time exploring at the Cabins of Fort Wilderness. Awesome pool and amazing other families staying there. I do wish the beds weren't all in 1 room....the toilet paper was a bit rough too, so i recommend bringing your own. Everything else was great.

We have been to ft. wilderness many other times. things have gone down hill. cabin had spiderwebs. sofa bed had rips and was dirty. There was nothing to clean with. No vacuum or broom. When i accidently broke a glass jar (my own) i had nothing to clean the shattered glass with. After i called someone just brought a small old broom and left it. No concern about kids in room that could get cut. Worse part was the air condition vent in the room made a constant click type noise throughout. Very hard to sleep w that noise. This is the first time we have been disappointed w Disney. Their food was terrible, service slow and staff looked miserable. The magic is gone.

They should put aside a cwrtain amount of rental aside for people who are checking in and may havr not known about golf cart reservations and without a golf cart its alot of walking and waiting on buses, i will mot go back without a golf cart

As expensive as it is, the Cabins at Fort Wilderness are by far the best value in our experience. The separate living area has a very comfortable pull-put sofa, so we fit Grandma out there and then my family of four slept in the bedroom. It’s so nice to have a kitchenette and a table to sit around for breakfast. It’s a relaxing place to return to at lunchtime before heading back to the parks. Because it’s a standalone unit, you don’t have to worry about noisy neighbors either and you get a deck with a picnic table. This was our third stay at the cabins and we highly recommend them!

Fort Wilderness is always a special place but Fort Wilderness for New Years was a real treat. Disney does it right. Excellent activities and overall fun time. The cabins are a bit dated but the charm of the place makes up for it. Grilling and hanging with your family in Disney’s “nature.”

It was so nice to come back to our own little cabin in the woods after long days at the parks. Not sharing any walls with neighbors keeps it really quiet, which was great for sleeping. Some of the back windows in particular looked like they had not been cleaned, and it definitely had a musty smell, so you have to be okay with cabin-life, but otherwise it is amazing.

We loved everything about it. Being from the city, this was a mini vacation within a vacation for us. Saw some fun wildlife - turkeys, deer, lizards, and frogs, and enjoyed the feeling of being nestled into the woods. If you can afford it, rent a golf cart! The bus system is quick and efficient (we used it on our final day after we had to return the golf cart), but exploring the property by golf cart is a fun treat. We did this several times a day and had a blast, my son said it was his favorite part of the trip. We used Instacart to have food delivered to the cabin and it was stocked with enough cookware to be able to cook a few decent meals. We ordered a pizza from P & J's Southern takeout on our final day and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The cabin was great, comfortable, clean, in great condition. I think the cabins sleep 6 people, we were three and it felt like the perfect size. My only wish was for more comfortable seating outside on the deck to enjoy my morning coffee. Overall, LOVED everything about it and hope to be able to return one day.

Huge mistake by the resort in the beginning. they didn't clean the cabin that was for us and the people that had stayed in it before were pigs. Expected more out of Disney resorts but Disney always disappoints me! If you call the hotel to make reservations for activities the hold is over an hour. The cabins were okay, very dusty with dust that collected in hidden corners and nobody bothered to clean it. My 7 year old boy kept sneezing throughout and his eyes got so swollen. Never going back there again.

I’ve been going to Disney 60 years. Front desk person didn’t know what she was doing. Ask for cabin close to transportation . She gave us a cabin far away. She didn’t give us ours keys. We waited outside in the dark for 30 min at least for someone to bring keys. Then we went to get them. We had our grandchildren who were so tired waiting to go to bed. Still had to unpack feed and get them in pjs. Went to open bed. Bed not made. Looked all over for sheets. Found a sheet it was torn. Wait for someone to bring sheets and blankets. Omg just awful. I’ve stay at the cabin 20 years I guess they are just giving up . Getting worst and worst

The Cabins are a great addition. So nice to have a full kitchen and availability to not have to pay Disney prices for EVERYTHING including food! The rooms were decent sized. Only negative is that there was a lot of dust on the fixtures. As it has a rustic look is it sometimes hard to tell if there is dust or just the appearance of dust but it was definitely there. You do still have to pay for parking which is a little different than the campsites but having regulated A/C and heat is really nice! We will definitely stay again.

The cabin was not clean. It was dusty, grimy and dirty. The bathroom had been used before we got there and used hand towels were laying on the kitchen chairs. The dishes all had to be rewashed before using and I refused to use the coffee maker because there were things floating in the water vessel. I felt like since I had booked through Expedia and not Disney directly I was given a slightly worse cabin.

Had a great stay, only complaint is necessary items missing in kitchen. No can opener or skillet provided in our cabin. Would be nice if broom and dust pan were provided as living area can become sandy especially when ground is wet. Minor things that I am used to having readily available. Staying at Fort Wilderness is such a great location, close to all the parks. Definitely would recommend this resort as we stay at or around Disney/Universal for our trips.

We love the cabins because it is like a little house; has a bedroom and a full kitchen which can save you big bucks on food. I highly recommend renting a golf cart during your stay or bringing bikes otherwise you have to catch the bus to go anywhere. The resort is quite spread out, too far to walk and cars do not have access. Kids love the golf carts! They are approx. $60 per day.

Disney's Wilderness Cabins are a wonderfully unique fun place right next to the Magic Kingdom. You feel completely surrounded by nature although you are right by the busiest tourist attraction in Florida. The cabins are delightful! You can make s'mores on your deck! Golf carts are a zippy way to get around. Reserve one in advance!

Do lots of researach before you go.
We were not informed via internet or at check-in of the daily parking fee. We found the lack of clear signage very frustrating to get around on and off the premises and GPS was totally confused. I think that information should have been covered better at check-in and offering a map of the grounds would have been a great help. We enjoyed the cabin, the privacy and, of course, the Wilderness Park.

Our stay was wonderful. Staying at a Disney Resort is always a treat! We enjoyed the comfort of the cabin after a long day at the parks, it was clean, cozy, and convenient. Loved using the different kinds of park transportation.

Food was left in fridge from previous guests including half a gallon of milk and half a bottle of coffee creamer. Lotion in bathroom was already used and empty but displayed as if it was new. Toiletries in actual shower were near empty, very disappointed considering the price.

Property was lovely, got there at 3am and they got me checked in immediate no hassles, clean, spa us and fun, I next time we will go for multiples sus just to enjoy the resort.

Even though the pictures looked great I still didn't know exactly what to expect, but the cabin was exceptional clean, roomy, even had a dishwasher- not your typical cabin.
They even came in daily to make the beds, restock the coffee, and clean.

Glamping at its best!
What a awesome place definitely great for everyone. Fully recommend getting a golf buggy it adds to the fun that can be had. 2 recommendations boats and busses running earlier than 1 hour before the parks open. Many parks offer services and breakfast before parks open. Makes it a little more difficult to get to park. Secondly they are long hot days at Disney. The use of a room to freshen up before a night flight would be ideal. Overall what a great campground.

A little expensive but worth it if you plan on spending a lot of time here. I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to spend most of your time in the parks though. Great cabin, atmosphere, amenities. Just a great immersive resort.

This is the way to enjoy Walt Disney World! The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably. You can enjoy the parks and then come back to a nice cabin with a deck and a grill for your use. It's peaceful and relaxing. You don't have people running up and down the halls at all hours disturbing your rest. There is SOOO much to do at the camp ground...horse back riding, pony rides for the kids, The Hoopty Do Revue, Mickey, backyard BBQ, Horse and wagon rides AND an outdoor movie where Chip and Dale come too. We will definitely be back !
