We booked a lux apartment. Check-in was easy, and our bags were quickly taken to our suite. The suite was beautiful, with a well-equipped kitchenette, very comfortable lounge, good sized bedroom with very comfortable bed, well equipped dressing area, safe, and a fantastic luxurious bathroom. There was also a separate small washroom. Outside, there was a full length balcony running the length of the lounge and bedroom. The hotel itself is in a fantastic area that felt very safe well into the evening and had many great restaurants, bars and shops within a 10-15 minute walk. I would 100% come back to this place if I was in Sao Paulo again, it is 10/10. The only slight criticism is the breakfast is just okay - not bad, but not great - but the one time we ate dinner we had fantastic service and delicious food.

The second reason I would recommend this hotel is because of the outstanding staff. I was travelling with my wife for our 25th wedding anniversary, and I very stupidly left my gold wedding ring in the room and didn't realise until I had passed through airport security. At many hotels I think you may not get such a valuable item back, so I was immensely relieved and grateful when I called them to be told they had it. They very kindly arranged for the ring to be returned to me in the UK (at my expense, of course) and they patiently dealt with the courier DHL (who were incompetent throughout) over several days. Thanks to the staff, I have my ring back - thank you!!!

This hotel is not a luxury hotel but the value comes with the roominess of the rooms. I have stayed at this hotel about a dozen times over the last 20 years and it continues to be a great place to stay. The location is excellent and if you are here for extended periods, the large rooms with refrigerator, stove etc really makes it nice. Don’t expect luxury but you won’t be disappointed.

Ricardo at the night front desk was friendly and helpful. Also there was a doorman also named Ricardo who was friendly. Stayed with 2 kids so the 2 bedroom suite was perfect for our needs. They also have a playground the kids enjoyed. Right next to Oscar street for food and shopping. Super market 1 block away. Safe area. They have free access to laundry machines also which was convenient.

Quiet, charming place to stay in SP

My wife and I stayed in the George V (Deluxe suite) for four nights in October 2024. It is a lovely hotel, with very sizable and well-appointed apartments, and located in a very nice neighborhood, with many stores and restaurants nearby (we shopped in the huge Carrefour hypermarket, a short walk across Av. Nove de Julho). The Apt had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast is also great, though a little limited in choices, with plenty of delicious, fresh food. Best of all though is the Staff; they are super friendly and helpful. If you are going to Paulista Ave from the hotel, I suggest you take an Uber as the walk is all uphill, and quite steep in places. Overall, it is a great place to stay and good value for money, given the area it is located in.

Very friendly staff, great location, rooms were amazing, and so were the amenities.

Recommendation, find a better way of tracking what is taken from the minibar/refrigerator. We purchased our own wine and water from A store around the corner and put it in the refrigerator. When we left were told we drank water from the fridge and had to pay for it. We did not as we bought ourselves and just stored it in the refrigerator. They were very nice and reimbursed us, but it was uncomfortable being accused of taking something we didn’t.

I was really disappointed. The main reason we picked the hotel was the outdoor pool for the kids. We got to the rooftop only to be told they were renovating it till mid September.
We are in Rio now but i canceled our reservation in São Paolo, we will be moving to another hotel with a pool upon our return.
It’s a pity because otherwise the hotel is great. Loved the 2 bedroom suite and really a great location.

Stay more than one night to fully enjoy it

This hotel is in an excellent location with nice restaurants, coffee shops and shopping nearby. The room I was given was terrific. it was like a mini apartment with all the conveniences of home. This was an upgrade after I wasn't happy with the first option. It was also immaculately clean. I wish I could stay additional nights to enjoy the balcony and other amenities. I did enjoyed the tub after a long day of meetings. The service at the desk could be improved. Perhaps the staff could be better trained to solve problems. Other than that, I would love to return to this hotel and enjoy it more than one night.

Home Away From Home

My stay at the George V Casa Branca came about halfway through a monthlong business trip around Latin America and couldn't have been more appreciated. the staff are friendly and greet you like family, with typical Brazilian warmth. The apartments are perfectly appointed, with everything you need and nothing in excess. It's a huge honus to have a full kitchen with full size fridge stocked with pots and pans etc. And the laundry room free for hotel guest use is a lifesaver on longer stays. The breakfast spread in the mornings is typically Brazilian and indulgent, with multiple freshly baked bolos/cakes offered daily. All in allm a fantastically comfortable stay. Great if you're just looking for a feeling of home for a little while.

Dissatisfaction

The service leaves a lot to be desired. For one it's very limited English. Most upsetting was the fact that the check out was aweful. We waited to check out while they took time to verify the mini bar even though we had a flight to catch.
Most horrifying was a bill presented for over 4000 Brazilian deals which was the wrong room for incidental and then they insisted we owed for breakfast, despite us obtaining numerous confirmations at check in that breakfast was included. In particular I asked the check in staff to 're check that breakfast was definitely included. However we were then told on check out to pay. Despite me raising this, check out staff made no effort. Disappointed. I had intended to return here but cancelled my reservation and booked at another hotel.
