Room was spacious, clean, private and comfortable -- excellent value for the price. Staff were friendly and attentive. The property is lovely and peaceful, yet there's a nice lively feel because of the on-site tennis club and workshops that take place. Breakfast (\"Veracruzano\") at the restaurant was delicious and other meals were also good.

The hotel is a pretty hacienda with nice big rooms and comfty bed. The free breakfast was a basic continental one but we ended up paying for the buffet they have on Tuesdays at 2x1. We spent just 1 night and wish we could have stayed longer for truly enjoyung the place.

We loved all the grounds and outdoor areas.Raul was our server at several meals and gave us friendly, personal service each time.
The rooms are large and comfortable.

Todo iba excelente hasta que tomé el buffet de la mañana, pregunté el precio, me dijeron $250, asi que dije que si, pero al pagar cada buffet tenia un precio de $350 (el mesero se equivocó en darme el precio inicial), por ese precio el buffet no vale la pena, sal a desayunar fuera. La comida no es la mejor pero cumple. Si vas al hotel es por relajarte y jugar tenis o nadar. Only.

The property is ok. The furniture linen and facilities are old and need maintenance. The staff and prices are great. The room cleaning was not too good. We found a cockroach and a spider when we arrived and we noticed that housekeeping did not sweep or mop the bedroom.

This is a nice feel of inner Mexico, not Cancun destination. The hotel is located in Rancho Cortes. The central building is a beautiful mansion with courtyard built in 1930s in Spanish Mexican style. Most of the hotel are one story concrete structures built around 1960-1970s. There are few buildings 3-4 stories high. The units have authentic Mexican feel, but are not renovated to Hilton or Marriott standard. The courts at the hotel are hard surface and very well maintained. The food is authentic Mexican food. Most of the staff doesn't speak English but you can always find someone who does. If you want to go outside, the best option is to order Uber. Taxis are not recommended, as you don't know who you are driving with, plus they charge you twice the Uber price because they see an English speaking tourist. We had a nice time in Cuernavaca!

Beautiful but with some issues to address.

The location is beautiful, I've come here for years. Unfortunately the property has not been kept up. Particularly the guest rooms. We were on suite 110 and there has black mold on the walls. I understand the humidity and moisture levels are high but they MOST control black mold. I will need to have confirmation this issue has been addressed before booking again. The restaurant service was a bit slow and the gym needs a better weight options. Again, the location and gardens are absolutely beautiful. I hope they invest in restoring the guest rooms as I look forward to coming back.

Cleaning staff were very nice and professional. They did their best with the conditions of the place. Temperature in the room was around 50 or colder Degrees F constantly. Heater didn't work. The rooms were so humid that there was mold growing on the walls. Walls and floor were wet with humidity. Bathroom did not have a window or exhaust fan to get rid of wet humid air when showering. Without heat in the room, it was impossible to dry out the air. Because of the cold and humidity, bedsheets and blankets were cold and damp and would not get warm even when sleeping with socks, sweatpants, and sweatshirts. We were shivering constantly and couldn't warm up. Beds had some sort of bed bugs in them that bit our legs in numerous places as we slept. (photos attached). Because the entire complex smelled of mold, our whole family experienced headaches, sore lungs, and constant coughing. This was the most uncomfortable place we've ever spent time at.

I like the property because it has a lot of history and that makes it unique, it's well kept, needs a little maintenance details which it seems they are working on it, the surroundings are beautiful, amenities are good and plenty for people.
I didn't like the walking on some of the old stones of the area to get to the main entrance and some other areas to go to your room. You have to be very careful walking or you might twist your ankle, it's just the different sizes of the stones makes it a little challenge.

The hotel is on beautiful forested land in a gracious neighborhood of Cuernavaca. The neighborhood is up higher than the Centro, so its cooler and quiet. The hotel was clean and cleanliness and safety was emphasized in signs throughout the buildings.

Slow check-in: for 10 min my reservation was looked for in spite of presenting a copy to the reception. Then a room was given but NOT one we paid for, we protested and it was replaced to a very nice one.
\"Continental\" breakfast was a joke: coffee, juice and toast - we paid for it separately at reservation and got special tickets with multiple indications that tip is not included - but a meal for lunch and dinner was truly excellent. Service at restaurant was \"surprising\": a waiter forgot to bring a bread, a knife for meat and then ... a bill, as a result we looked over the restaurant how to pay. It was also pretty annoying to see in restaurant construction workers in dirty clothes moving around.
It was also not a pleasure to see construction garbage kept at parking lot. Leaving we discovered in our room a person who came in our absence to check minibar!
I would qualify this \"hotel\" as rooms attached to tennis courts.
Noise from the road specially in the morning is very bad
It is certainly overpriced. Surely, we will not return to this place to stay
overnight but to have lunch or dinner - it might be.

The hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood. The gardens are great. It is a tennis club, the hotel seems improvised. The rooms are spacious but really old and the worst part is the noise. I really heard everything happening in the bathroom next door. It was really disappointing.

Safe resort, a tennis club for wealthy Mexican city folks. The staff was very nice, there are a few on staff who can help in English if your Spanish is not so good. The room was a bit small, but the price was great. My friends stayed at a 2BR air BNB for the same rate but this hotel was good for a last minute deal. If you play tennis, you should definitely go. On and the food, omg, so good.

A very Mexican looking good hotel

Hotel rooms are spacious and have been decorated with a traditional Mexican decor which is nice, however some of the bedroom items (such as bedding and wall paintings) need updating. Some minor details with cleanliness as well (e.g corners and ceilings) but nothing important enough to complain about.

We had some issues regarding the shower and the bathroom (leaks) but we were immediately moved to another room. No problems after that. Reception and bell boys were exceptionally helpful and polite.

Breakfast buffet at the restaurant had many options with traditional tasty Mexican food. All food was prepared fresh and displayed a high degree of care. You can have omelettes and quesadillas freshly made in front of you and you choose the fillings! Amazing value for the amount of food you can get and also because they stop serving food until noon.

Hotel surroundings were pretty and big, offering gardens, swimming pool and sports courts.

Room was not clean at all, specially the bathroom, the toilet was dirty and we found a dead bug on the floor.

We ordered dinner to the room and the tray stay outside of the room more than 20 hours we even call to get it removed but they didn't.

Comfortable Hotel

A very nice and comfortable hotel, the restaurant is in the main yard outdoors with very good food. Plenty of tennis courts, large gardens a small pool with not as warm water as I would wanted but OK. Definitely the rooms require renovation, the furniture is old, no air conditioning which it might be uncomfortable in warmer weather. Very comfortable bathroom, large, but not the best water pressure and temperature of the water.

I visited Racquet Hotel for a family wedding. The grounds are beautiful but the cobble stone walkways throughout the hotel are not convenient for women who wear heels. The buffet was also disappointing. The cost for a breakfast buffet is $180 pesos which is equivalent to $12 American dollars. Very expensive! We were given free continental breakfast vouchers which only includes toast and juice. Our first morning we decided to enjoy the restaurant. I only had 2 pieces of toast and coffee while my companion had 3 plates at the buffet. We were charged $360 pesos at the counter. I informed the hostess that we only had one buffet. He called the waiter over and asked what we had eaten. Not only did the waiter question our integrity but told me that that there were 3 plates on our table and that he watched me eat from the buffet! It was a lie and we didn't appreciate the accusation. It was embarrassing and needless to say we only paid for one buffet and did not return to the restaurant. They really need to work on their customer service. It was horrendous, humiliating, and embarrassing.

We were very disappointed that the playground was in a terrible condition and it was even dangerous for kids. The slides and swings were all broken.
In the other hand in the web site it was said that you can use the sportive fields as a guest but we need to pay Mx$60 each for using the mini golf as apparently it was not included.
Last but not least, the continental breakfast was a joke (coffee+2 slices of bimbo bread) it is just ridiculous. So we need to pay extra Mx $180 per person to have a descent breakfast every morning.
As a resume our stay at this hotel became more expensive that it supposed to be. Adding the fact that the room fees are already quite expensive for what you get.

I stay 320 night a year in hotels, my Starwood platinum membership proves it. Racquet is a private club with a few rooms that they decided to rent as hotel. The infrastructure is pretty good for a private club but is poorly managed since their main business is not hospitality, they are more focused into serving the club members on their lunch time than taking care of guests. There is no air conditioned on the standard rooms so linens and the room in general is humid and dusty. So if you are allergic stay away because your night will be a nightmare.
We did not eat at the hotel, although I ordered a coffee on the main lobby but it never arrived, I served it my self and they did not even noticed.
The lady at the reception had been working there for tree years; when I asked details about the rooms she answered me that she did not know the rooms. Come on, is like selling a car without ever riding one.
I try to write my reviews on an honestly and reasonable matter, and this is not the hotel for me. I wont stay there again.
