Wifi was good, hot water was nice. Hotel is very dated & needs repair. Location is good. You will need earplugs because you can hear everything from other rooms even with the window closed. Honking of cars. Bed was not comfortable. Breakfast is a joke. Instant coffee put into a dispenser. Pre-toasted bread. I did not know you can even buy it this way! I stayed 2 nights & each time I had to ask for 'breakfast' as they keep things locked. Having water available to refill your own bottle was good. I will try a different hotel but this is ok in a pinch. Check in was easy.

Great location and price

Stayed one night in Puebla and got a bargain room here. The location was ideal given I didn't have long there - only one block from the main square making it easy to just dump my bags and head out to explore. Plenty of restaurants, shops and bars in the surrounding streets. The room (interior - quieter) was spacious and comfortable, simply furnished and decorated in a rustic style. Bathroom had good water pressure and hot water. No English TV channels but not important for 1 night and at that price. Good wifi and even a simple breakfast the next morning. Nice staff, who managed to cope with my only basic Spanish! The hotel asks guests to be quiet after 9pm, so I got a great night's sleep.Great price for for a central stay.

BASIC, BUT BEARABLE !!

Very basic. The hot water in the morning shower would diminish since everyone else was taking a shower. This is a good inexpensive hotel when you just need one or two nights to rest up on a trip going home or else where. Free breakfast in only coffee and toast, juice, and don't take another toast ! They watch you. Location is wonderful !!! You are right near the main plaza and there is a great bakery across the street. The Location from the bus terminal is only about 10-15 minutes. Nothing fancy, but you will get a good night's rest, at least.

This is a comfortable hotel. Has the basic amenities for a pleasant stay. The most outstanding feature is its location. It is just one block from Pueblas Zocalo. Several city tours can be arranged at its front desk. Its staff was always available and willing to provide information, suggestions etc.

Great location for half the price of the 'posh' hotels you can see from your window! This was perfect for me: right by the Zocolo, but affordable, clean and with helpful staff. Yes, everything is a bit basic, but evrything works and is all you need if you want to be out and about in Puebla for much of the day and then have a pleasant place to sleep afterwards. A little Spanish with some staff is useful, but some speak English too. All staff were very helpful with directions, calling taxis, helping me book another night, etc.

Hotel is old. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is a joke (just coffee, fruit juice and bread) and self service. Room is OK, but it does NOT have a/c!! I guess you get what you paid for, which is not too bad if you are on a budget. Plus very close, less than 2 blocks, from the zocalo (main square)

The bedding was dirty, some blood on the pillow cases, bathroom clean but the towels and shower curtain horrible. Way to noisy and staff not helpfull at all I had 2 big suitcases and there were so many stairs to my room. But you get what you paid for.

Basic, cheap, but very close to zocalo.

A bit noisy at times but for the price, no complaints. The \"Breakfasts\" were minimal at best but when your hotel is right in front of probably the best panaderia in Puebla (la flor de Puebla), who cares? The hotel is literally minutes from many of the best sites.

It is a comfortable and clean hotel. Doesn't really have a continental breakfast but there is a wonderful inexpensive restaurant across the street as well as a great bakery! Great proximity to the zocalo.

The hotel was in a great location just round the corner from the main plaza. The manager was really friendly and helpful - it is true what other reviewers have said that you need a paper copy of your booking which we have never experienced before, but they explained this was because of conning tourists trying to pull a fast one so fair enough! Also true that breakfast was only coffee, juice and toastbreads, but for the price and location, c´mon what do you expect! And we didnt have any noise problems while we were there and slept really well. Only one adverse comment is that the linen could do with renewing as was grey and torn, but was clean. Much better than we expected overall.

Close to must see sights and value

It is a simple, inexpensive hotel, but it's run by very helpful, warm people. We wanted to leave our bags at the desk while we went to see the city for 4 hours and while most hotels do accommodate this request at no fee, this was exceptional. We had six large bags and it required rearranging the entire storage area to accommodate our bags. We were met with pleasant smiles and help. Four hours later when we returned, collected our bags and the attendant called a cab for us, she made it clear to us how much we should not exceed in paying for the cab. We felt very looked after and cared about way beyond the call of duty! I have paid 3 x this much at Mexican hotels before and not got similar care. Only negative is there is little to no insulation between rooms and hallway. However, I travel with earplugs which made this not a problem. I would stay here again.

This hotel is a good deal for the cheap price. It's extremely close to the zocalo (the center square) and it's safe. It's a little worn, but clean. There was hot water all the time (trust me, that doesn't always happen in Mexico) and drinking water was available in water coolers out in the halls. The staff were very helpful and answered all our questions about the area. They brought extra blankets to our room when we asked, and the room was cleaned every day. The \"breakfast\" was just toast with butter and jam, coffee, and juice. Overall it's a great value - clean, friendly staff, and great location for a low price. I'll definitely stay there again if I go back to Puebla :)

Our stay in Talavera Hostel was very very noisy. There was people coming back at night, screaming, vomiting and partying. Walls are so thins that you are always waking up in the middle of the night. However, staff was pretty helpful and pleasant and location was very good, close to main touristic attractions. If you want to rest, you should not be sleeping there.

This hotel services and amenities are quite basic, but you can't beat the location for the price, and it includes free Wi-Fi, which is a huge bonus and a must for me. The Zocalo and Cathedral are just a quick 5-10 minute walk away, and all the rest of the historic city sites also nearby.

The clerk wouldn't let us in without a printed copy of our Hotels.com receipt (not required by Hotels.com). His attitude was horrible and he basically told us that this was our problem and that he wouldn't help. The location is however excellent and the room spacious. Towels and pillows were cheap and worn out.

Great location within walking distance of the zocalo and around many older buildings and cathedrals. The people at the front desk were nice. The one guy spoke pretty good English, the lady did not but she was patient and helpful. They keep both your car keys and your hotel key at the front desk whenever you aren't using them, which seems kind of weird but there was never a problem when I needed the keys back. Parking is free which is great because there isn't a lot of parking in this historic area. This is an older hotel, so don't expect a lot. The wifi can be good some days, other times you have to stand on the stair right next to the box and still can't keep connected. The water takes a very long time to get hot. There is a lot of noise from the other rooms. The bed is very hard. However, the amenities are adequate especially for the price.

Got a great price on Hotels.com - 150 pesos less than listed at the hotel. We were 4 people, 2 double beds in each room. We found the people very pleasant, the bed comfortable, the wifi excellent and the rooms very clean. Even had a bathtub. We had the front rooms 111 and 113 but there was not much noise. One block from the zocolo, safe parking.

No Frills - Perfect location - great price

We knew that the hotel would not be fancy. What we wanted was a great location for walking to various sites at a low enough price that we could afford to dine well. This hotel was exactly right for what we wanted - only a block and a half from the main square. Fabian at the desk was very accomodating and helpful. There was no elevator, but we had good help with our luggage. The room was barebones but clean and had shelves for clothing plus 2 desks with chairs. Thank you Hotels.com.

You get what you pay for

This hotel is basically what a lot of other people said. The rooms are clean but basic. We had a choice of a room with no window or a room on the street and chose the street which was of course noisy. There is no elevator so do not believe the hotels.com description of this place. The staff was friendly enough. I don't know what it would be like if I did not speak Spanish but everyone tried to help us out. The real issue was the bathroom which was big and clean but had an old tub and a shower curtain with holes in it. When we complained, they came and put duck tape on the holes - about 5 of them. At least the whole bathroom did not get wet. I think this place is fine for a one night stay but I would not recommend it for more time. We were there during a Mexican holiday so we did not have a lot of options but I do not think I would go back unless I had to.

The hotel is very well located and the price is good. They have thought about some things that make people more comfortable in a low-priced Mexican hotel: toilet seats, shower curtain, bathtub!, reading light, kleenex dispenser. The room was very clean but...the bathroom deodorizer made me feel sick it was so strong, the pillows were terrible, the sheets were threadbare and the \"breakfast\" was practically non-existent. It is a very long haul to the second floor bur the reception clerk kindly helped me with my bags. The room looked out on a ventilation shaft but with a skylight it was bright and airy enough. It was quiet and the mattress was firm but comfortable.

Tengo años hospedándose en este hotel, es un hotel básico q cumple su función al llegar de los paseos y descansar, pero en esta ocasión tuve una muy mala experiencia al llegar al hotel y decirme q no te ian mi reservación con Expedia cuando yo ya traía mi comprobante y número de itinerario, aún así me entregaron la habitación. La persona encargada en recepción con disposición a apoyarme pero lamentablemente el encargado, gerente o manager nunca dio la cara, al contrario se me dijo q él había hablado con Expedia y q ellos le habían dicho q yo no tenía ninguna reservación !!! Pueden creer eso? Cuando Expedia en todo momento me apoyo y verifico mi reservación

CONCLUSIÓN: Vayan al hotel pero paguen directamente ahí con ellos porq eso de las aplicaciones y las redes sociales no se les da. Hay una tremenda falta de comunicación entre ellos

Al llegar, el recepcionista estaba discutiendo con una familia, al llegar, a pesar de tener reservaciones pagadas, no me dejaron accesar, porque el recepcionista no tenía hojas para imprimir (alcancé a firmar uno de los dos contratos) tuvimos que esperar hasta que consiguiera hojas. No había agua caliente. Escuchó que el llavero de la llave del auto estaba roto y SIN PREGUNTAR NI INTENTAR SABER DEL TEMA, había dado la orden al señor del estacionamiento que no lo aceptara porque tenía falla mecánica (tuve que explicarle 3 veces que hablábamos del LLAVERO, nada que ver con sus suposiciones) es grosero, prepotente y cero amable.

No puedes hacer uso de la tina sin pedir el tapón en recepción y el agua caliente se termina temprano. Tienen 2 personas en administración un hombre en la noche y una mujer en la mañana, la mujer es amable pero el hombre no tanto, tiene servicio de taxi seguro pero no tiene servicio de restaurante y toca salir a buscar donde desayunar y comer.

La atención del personal cordial y respetuosa.

Esta muy céntrico y económico para su ubicación, ademas cuenta con estacionamiento. Tranquilo y seguro. Solo no me gusto que en la página dice que incluye desayuno continental, pero por la pandemia aún no tienen el servicio, solo seria cuestion de que actualicen la información de lo que ofrecen.
