El hotel alhóndiga es en una ubicación perfecta para todo turista o persona, es una construcción hermosa e histórica, el sólo estar en su interior obtenemos una cátedra de arquitectura e historia, está muy limpio, pero su desventaja es que las camas no son nada cómodas y está descuidado las anotaciones son algo pequeñas, pero si las camas fueran confortables serían perfectas, necesita atención en el interior

Shower was some sort of pressure tube, but a shower head, window opens to the hallway where the public walks around, beds felt like ricks, staff was good, only thing place has going for it is the location! I moved to another hotel after a couple of days.

Although great location, nothing else was great. Room was so small double bed was against a wall on one side. Bathroom was ridiculously small! Toilet was so close to wall had to take off pants, step one leg over toilet, then spread legs just to sit down. Hard to then get up in that position. Outrageously priced 100+ peso “continental” breakfast did not include any bread, only coffee, unripened fruit juice, and a few slices of fruit. They gave us menus to order breakfast.

Great location extremely central in Puebla

The hotel is situated very centrally. It has an elegant entrance and look very accommodating. The room wasn't, it seamed like the porcelain was stained and improperly kept. Shower was a pipe with a nozzle on it. But I was satisfied because of the location and it was only 48 dollars with taxes and everything.

Could have been OK Maid stole my explorer hat

I checked out and forgot my hat hanging behind the door. Called three hours later because I never packed it and I knew exactly where it was. I loved that collapsible hat with breathing mesh. We Had to wait till the following day so that they could ask the maid staff of the morning shift. The hat was gone. Poor people and low morals at this hotel. I hope someone who needs it more has it now. Unfortunately it was probably sold for a dollar or two. It was a present and I cannot replace it exactly. Life. :(

We had to cancel

The room had no closet, a few hangers and no place to put them. I wanted to take a shower, but there was no hot water. We were told that we would have to wait about three hours for the problem to be fixed....and we really didn't have that time....
We requested our money back and they were gracious enough to cancel our reservation.
We were visiting for one day and couldn't wait to get dressed up .

Misleading

Miserly Hotel That misses on many fronts. It should have been good but it wasn't. The room shown in the photo when booking was not what we were given. It was a rat-hole. After complaint to desk staff, then office staff, the... etc in both Spanish and English we were reluctantly given the room shown on the photos. Even that was sub-standard,
Could not sleep for the noice.
We moved to adjacent Hotel. What a difference.
It was almost impossible to find with the entrance inside an arcade

Don´t save some bucks, get a better hotel

While location is perfect, select a different place, really. The clerks at the front desk just need to fill the forms and you are off - not welcoming at all. Surprise was breakfast was included in the rate, but not quite: the waiter ran after me asking to pay \"the balance\" - because the restaurant and the hotel are nor the same business (what?). Room for 2 was 9x9 feet, small bed, old towels... Don´t book here. Try the next hotel and avoid the disappointment.

Lovely to look at, not fun to stay at

Great location, clean accommodations, but the front desk staff is either overworked or under-trained or both. Our room key stopped working multiple times a day, requiring return trips to the desk (we were only permitted one key, despite asking for another). Nearly an hour wait for the valet, making us miss part of our tour. Shorted towels on the first day (family of 4 with two towels to share) and had to beg to get more than one small bottle of water for our room (we finally got two bottles...sigh). We live in Mexico and have traveled throughout it, and these were some pretty dour offerings compared to our usual stays, and at a higher price that we typically pay. Overall, not terrible, but I wouldn't stay there again.

GREAT location! Below average hotel room

Bad start set the tone for our stay! We got there early and were told that our room would not be ready until 3:00 pm. We left our luggage and came back at three like we were told. The receptionist called the room cleaning service to see if it was ready and it wasn't, so we had to wait an extra 30 mins. When we finally got to our room we noticed it had no closet, a tiny bathroom and bad TV reception. The only plus was that it was clean! The last straw was that the shower took 10 mins. to get warm water and that was by only opening the hot water faucet. We complained to the receptionist that checked us in and she had the gull to argue about the matter when she hadn't experienced the tepid water. The last day of our stay, we spoke to the general manager about our concerns and she apologized about the whole situation. She even asked why the receptionist hadn't changed our room. Well who knows but at this point it doesn't matter since we will never go back! To bad about the location because it is in the heart of downtown.

Location Location Location!

This hotel is not great, but the location sure is! Town square restaurants and shopping are just a few steps away. I slept terribly every night due to street noise, police sirens and street performers singing under my window, but the price was right and the location is great. The staff was nice and my room was clean, but the mattress was rock hard and I only had hot water for a shower one of the four days I was there.

Great location; otherwise disappointing.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. However, the rooms are very small and really quite inadequate.

The gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful. He was a delight. The hotel was not.

After I saw the room, even know I had paid in advance, I checked out.

For some travel is, the low price and the great location might override the tiny dreadful room.

Hotel was very nice, only slightly annoyed with check in when a simple confirmation number was not enough and they demanded to see my hotels.com confirmation e-mail which I didn't have. After waiting a while and scrambling to find it on my phone the front desk worker finally realized they didn't actually need it.

Good deal for the price, you get what you pay for!

Overall as said above title. When I paid the rate I knew what to expect. Staff was polite & courteus, my special thanks to the front desk lady who seemed to practically live in, she was nice and prompt to resolve our demands. The hotel is an old but beautiful building, never had issues with the noise as others claimed. Certainly the rooms deserve great deal of maintenance, yet this is the owner(s) responsibility. Addressee or closets would make a big difference in the comfort, and is a cost efficient investment. Bottom line, I would come back no doubts, and recommend for the ones looking for a bargain.

Questionable Service

We reserved two rooms which turned out to be very small and nowhere near as nice as the information on the website. When we complained they offered one large room which would comfortably accommodate all of us. I was not really happy with that arrangement but then the hotel said that they would give us a partcial rebate for the second room. That seemed like an acceptable arrangement but then when it was time to check out the hotel refused to provide the promised rebate. To my mind that is very questionable serivice. The hotel was not really bad for the price but I could not honestly recommend it to other if there were any other options.

Close to everything downtown

We had a good stay and the location was excellent a few steps from the zocalo, so if that is important to you then this is the place to stay. However do not expect a new building since this one is over 200 years old and there are retrofitting inconveniences associated with this. Some rooms have no windows so if this is important ask to be changed but be warned: a window to the outside means a lot of noice since this is an old building, and a window in the courtyard means less privacy. Many rooms are small so ask to see your room before accepting. Breakfast is not great other than coffee and bread, but if this is important to you for 3-5 USD you can cross the zocalo to taqueria Angeles and have more food than you can imagine! So if you get a good price for the room then you will have the extra cash for a great meal.

Hotel La Alhondiga is beautiful and conveniently located at the zocalo. Only problem we encountered there was no hot water or heat during the cold snap. Some rooms are small with no windows. We enjoyed ours over looking the walkway to the plaza.

My stay here has turned into a very negative situation. I booked through Hotels.com and then the staff at reception charged me again for my room. To this day, the problem is still not resolved despite promises to the contrary. The hotel is in a convenient location, but very noisy at night due to being so close to the zocalo, or public square and the fact that music is played throughout the hotel during the day...no way to take a nap. I would never, ever recommend this place because of the experience I had with them. You'll be better off elsewhere.

Located right on the Zocalo, so you can enjoy great food and entertainment within easy walking distance. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The hotel itself is a gem with it´s history and charm. The rooms are clean and well appointed although a bit small. I loved it.

Feel like in an airplane bathroom

This is a nice hotel in a convenient central location. Rooms are very clean with lots of ventilation. When using the small bathroom you feel like in an airplane!
There is no closets to hang your cloths! There is no air conditioned rooms. There is no help to carry tour luggage from the sidewalk to the reception located in a upper level floor. Price is acceptable and sometimes breakfast is included...

Not a good hotel

We stayed here because other hotels that we like in the city center were sold out or too pricey during our weekend visit. It was a mistake to choose this hotel. The toilet got plugged up twice (making the bathroom, even the shower, essentially unusable), the bathroom is tiny and does not easily accommodate an average-sized person, and the breakfast area was so filthy (the staff was overwhelmed and could not bus the tables quickly enough) that we got up and left our free breakfast in favor of buying breakfast at a nearby restaurant. We couldn't wait to get home to take a shower in our own home in Mexico City.

The next time we go to Puebla, we'll pay a little more and stay in a more reputable hotel. Puebla is a great city, but our weekend was compromised by the poor quality of this hotel.

Very Pleasant Stay

I booked this hotel for my 21 year old son before he arrived back from 7 weeks studying in Mexico. He wanted to see Puebla and his flight was booked out of there. The location was in the centre of everything and the glorious cathedrals. He has stayed in many good hotels on family vacation in both Canada and the US and he was so impressed with this hotel. He enjoyed the restaurant and food. Also the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. His wake up call was prompt for an extremely early wake up call for the airport. The security gaurd even waited with him outside the hotel at 4:45 while waiting for his taxi to take him to the airport.

OK for a last minute reservation, next to Zocalo

I like this hotel because it was very close to the downtown historic building. surrounding are beautiful, as a Metternich of fact, the hotel itself is an old building modified with the standard modernities. Decoration is nice with paintings and sculptures of the area.
I didn't like it doesn't have Internet, wired or wireless, in the rooms. You have to go to the lobby for that. I missed air conditioning though the room had a ceilng fan which sometimes was not enough with these hot afternoons. Puebla's weather is benign, that's why a/c is not a standard issue in some hotels here.

Si buscas algo para salir del paso esta es la opción, aunque si tiene sus inconvenientes.

Primero que nada, no hay regadera, lo que tiene es un aspersor que cuesta trabajo regular, a veces salía poca agua y a veces salía un chorro muy fuerte, me tarde más intentando ajustar el chorro del agua que en lo que me bañe.

El papel higiénico es un chiste, es una combinación rara entre servitoallas y papel higiénico que tanto se utiliza para las manos como para el wc, es muy delgado, se termina desperdiciando por la necesidad de usar más.

El colchón estaba manchado y las sábanas estaban rotas y estas como las toallas estaban amarillentas.

Si bien la publicación dice que la TV es de 15” y no debería quejarme es en extremo pequeña y solo cuenta con 7 canales.

La ventana no la pude cerrar y solo usé la cortina con la que cuenta para evitar la vista hacia el interior, el frío se sentía demasiado y las voces de los de los demás huéspedes en el pasillo se oyen muy fuerte dentro del cuarto, no me dejaron dormir bien.

El wifi funcionó bien.

Como dije para salir del paso esta bien, la ubicación es buena, las áreas comunes muy limpias, lo que mencione se podría mejorar para tener una mejor experiencia.

No hay mantenimiento de las instalaciones, . El edificio es muy bonito y deberían conservarlo mejor Los pasillos y plantas están olvidados, sin luz por la noche. No están cómodas las almohadas ni las camas, entiendo que no es un 5 estrellas, pero pasas ahi una o dos noches y ya no quieres regresar. No están con mantenimiento los baños.
Ponen bonitas y limpias las toallas, frazadas.
No te pueden facturar si no lo haces en ese momento. eso es muy inconveniente.
Es un edificio muy bonito, pero muy descuidado.

Este hotel se ubica dentro de un pasaje y un edificio emblemático colonial con mucha historia. El vestíbulo, recepción y apariencia del restaurante son buenas y agradables, pero las habitaciones y en general el mantenimiento del inmueble es deficiente y deplorable. Este tipo de inmuebles debería de ser cuidado y apreciado mejor. La habitación que me asignaron da a la calle, pero la puerta del balcón no cierra bien, se abre y es un ruido tremendo aparte que la encontré muy sucia y descuidada por lo que pedí un cambio de habitación al interior, la cual si mejoro en cuanto al ruido, pero estaba muy descuidada también. Encontré pequeñas cucarachas en todo el cuarto. El baño con fuga de agua en el lavabo percudido. No tenía espejo, no había regadera y ni siquiera me atreví a probar si había agua caliente porque me dió asco entrar al área de la ducha. Todo muy descuidado. Nada que ver con lo que Expedia ofrece en el anuncio. No vuelvo y no recomiendo este hotel para nada, ni siquiera que Expedia lo anuncie.

El día 22 de abril de 2022 ingresamos mi esposa y yo a las 15 horas, previa reservación, a las 20: 30 salimos a cenar, para lo cual dejé la tarjeta (llave) en la recepción. al regresar a las 22 30 había una persona diferente, tez morena, unos 55 años, con lentes, a la cual le solicité la llave y después de buscar nos dijo que no se la habían dejado y que debíamos de dormir en una banca de las que están afuera, al referirle que no se me hacía gracioso me dijo que era una broma, entonces volvió a buscar y me dió la llave. Cabe señalar que somos de Jalapa, con marcado acento de la región; por lo que, percibí que fuimos discriminados.

Buena ubicación pero mal estado general

Los muebles de la habitación son muebles que no se pueden utilizar porque se quiebran, el baño sumamente descuidado y un poco sucio. El edificio es muy bonito puesto que fue utilizado por el gobierno pero no está conservado en su infraestructura. El desayuno incluido es sólo una fruta, nada más, no es un desayuno completo o suficiente. En términos generales, tiene una excelente locación pero definitivamente la infraestructura podría ser mucho mejor.

El primer día, dejé a guardar un frasco de insulina en el refrigerador y no lo guardaron, para el control de la TV, conbran $100 que después regresan, por guardar las cosas cobran $30.00, el internet tiene muchas fallas, constantemente lo sacan de la red, para hacer válido el desayudo del paquete, tenía que pasar por el cupón diariamente antes de desayunar, si es una promoción, por qué no lo entregan desde el inicio?
El cuarto que nos tocó, a pesar de tener ventana, no se podía abrir y no había ventilación.

Lo que anuncian no es verdad

En primer lugar en sus especificaciones de dice que la habitación es de 40m2 y puedo apostar que no media no 20, además no tenía sala como prometieron, me sentí en un cuarto de 200 pesos la noche... el personal fue amable pero no atentos ni serviciales... y por último no ofrecen desayuno gratis solo ofrecen café jugo y fruta... creo que es muy caro para lo que ofrecen...

Bueno sólo para 1 o 2 noches. Está en pleno centro

Lo único realmente bueno es la ubicación. Es un edificio señorial que parece haber sido adaptado para hotel. Como las habitaciones son diminutas y eso no tiene arreglo, la única mejora sería equipar la mejor, màs toma corrientes ya que hay un solo enchufe y lámparas para leer en la cama. Sólo hay una luz fuerte. Tambièn deberían renovar la ropa de cama. La manta están a rota. El desayuno es café y frutos a veces ponen pan. Una porción de manteca y mermelada mejoraría mucho la oferta.

Excelente ubicación

Mi familia y yo tuvimos una muy buena experiencia con este hotel, ya que además de estar muy limpio, lo cual es muy importante para cualquier huesped, el personal fue muy amable y servicial y además está en una excelente ubicación del Centro Histórico.

Horrible, había un moco en la sabana y la recepcionista muy grosera no la quizo cambiar, el baño tenia en la taza del sanitario vellos púbicos y excremento pegado. no había wifi tampoco, siempre estuvo malo

Fue muy agradable y confortable. El hotel esta muy bonito, las habitaciones son muy grandes y el hotel es un edificio histórico. Esta en el mero centro de puebla y la pasamos super bien.

El hotel tiene una excelente ubicación a unos pasos del zócalo de Puebla el personal en general del hotel es muy amable, salvo por la recepción es un poco seca.

Hotel solo con buena ubicación

Lo mejor la ubicación y la atención del personal. Las habitaciones en extremo pequeñas, el baño sin agua caliente, en el restaurante la comida fría e imponen y agregan a tu cuenta el 10% propina \"opcional\". No lo recomiendo.

Very disappointing

Overall very disappointed with the hotel.
The room was small and the bathroom was super tiny. You couldn't sit on the toilet because there was a wall right in front so you had to sit from the side. The WIFI didn't work any of the days in the room. The Staff wasn't very friendly - specially not the guy in the night when we checked in. You could hear all the noise in the room (people in the night and playing kids since 6 am).
The included breakfast was super disappointing (coffee and a small plate of melon).
I normally stay at hostels so I think that this hotel is way overpriced... You can stay in so many hostels for a third of the price with much better service and comfort.
On the good side the room was very clean and the location great!

Al llegar al hotel recibí una pésima atención, desde el recepcionista que no quiso atenderme siendo grosero al referirme con su compañera, el valet parking, quien a pesar de no estar ocupado, al recibir la orden de recoger mi auto dijo que no podía, de quedó parado sin hacer nada y un tiempo después se dignó a ir a recibir mi auto, de muy mala gana y diciéndome que tenía prisa. El servicio es pésimo y no pienso regresar nunca.

Hotel excelente ubicación.

El hotel en si es muy bonito, su ubicación excelente, el personal muy amable, lo decepcionante fue la habitación, la que nos tocó a nosotros demasiado pequeña, sin closet para guardar tus cosas, el baño como de casa de infonavit, no te podías sentar no te caben las piernas, tenías que estar de lado.
Otro problema el estacionamiento, pedimos el carro y se tardaron 30 minutos en traerlo cuando el estacionamiento esta a unos pasos del hotel.

Lo bueno, es un hotel en el mero centro de puebla y me gustó el estilo del hotel y la habitación.
Lo malo, fui en un viaje de trabajo y nunca me pude conectar a internet, mi habitación estaba cerca del bar y la gente pasaba platicando y hablando a las 11pm como si fueran las 2 de la tarde, se escuchaba el cantante los aplausos, las pláticas de otra habitación, no sé si solo esa habitación pero es muy ruidosa, en las dos noches que estuve ahi, me costó mucho trabajo conciliar el sueño por tanto ruido, entra mucha luz, no había agua caliente, el baño tenía un olor algo desagradable a humedad, y no había control para la televisión.

Totalmente decepcionado del hotel. La habitación es extremadamente pequeña, super incomoda y no cuenta con espacio para colocar maletas u objetos personales, la TV es chica y no cuenta con control remoto, además el baño tenia fuga de agua.
El desayuno que ofrecen de cortesía es mínimo (jugo, fruta y café), todo en mínimas proporciones.
Ofrecen el servicio de valet parking, el cual no estuvo disponible durante mi estancia y el estacionamiento se encuentra a 2 cuadras.
