Really fun hotel: glass floors and stairway, huge open air lobby, nice breakfast. The hotel design is trying for stylish, but the design details are funny: 30-foot grand stairway with no bannister -- like, cool but don't fall off or walk into the fountain/pool at the bottom! Loved my room, style choices are hard to describe.

The hotel is like a sculpture; the modern design elements within the ancient building are often spectacular. As a work of art, lovely. a place to stay, few creature comforts. Rooms stark, inconvenient. Lobby this time of year when temperatures at night go into 40’s, is freezing and windy. Breakfast in lobby so all eating in winter coats and blankets.

The hotel is beautiful but some how uncomfortable. Breakfasts included jus continental, extra charge for some eggs. Extra charge for bottle of water (without telling you).
Extra charge valet parking in a place you cannot reach by car comfortably.
There was a cocktail on Thursday so I could not sleep until 12am and I had to work on Friday.

Nice hotel and amenities, however we were not warned that there would be a party at the Hotel (organised and run by the Hotel) with very very loud music until 3am. As we were on the first floor and our door faced out onto the restaurant area we were not able to sleep until gone 3am. We requested a change of room but were told the hotel was full. We've stayed in a number of Habita Hotels and am appalled at this level of hospitality. Had we been told there was a party in the building we would not have booked the hotel.

El servicio fue amable y la arquitectura del lugar es muy atractiva. Lo que no nos encantó fue: 1) el cuarto olía mal (a caño), 2) había mucho ruido en la noche, por la zona supongo (a tomarlo en cuenta si lo que quieren es descansar). Era fin de semana y había fiestas alrededor.
La comida (tomamos el brunch dominical) estaba bien, pero nada del otro mundo. Para el precio uno esperaría algo extraordinario. Habiendo tantos lugares deliciosos alrededor, hubiera preferido salir a desayunar a otro lugar.

The hotel is beautiful but was disappointed that no one told me that the roof spa and pool was under renovation, it was a mess up there. And the first night there was a LOUD convention at the hotel and the restaurant was unusable, again no one was clear on that. Also the standard rooms are abit oddly laid out.

This is usually my go to hotel in Puebla, but this last stay the service was not the same. In the room next to ours, there was a family who had their kids screaming and playing in the hall. This made the stay very uncomfortable, since no one from the staff said anything. Also, room service took a long time.

Elevators did not work. The hotel looks like it needs maintenance. Overall dirty feel. The rooms don’t have a door on the toilet. The beds don’t have outlets on both sides. The pool is filthy. This hotel looks great in photos but is very disappointing in person. The “entrance” is not car friendly. It’s not even a road. It’s a pedestrian walkway you have to ask permission to drive onto. It’s not worth the money or the hassle. Stay at the Rosewood. It’s more expensive, but it delivers 10x the value. At least.

Puebla and La Purificadora Hotel great choice!!

Beautiful hotel! Walking distance from the Cathedral, Museo Amparo and Capilla del Rosario. Concierge Roberto was so friendly and gave us great tips on restaurants and places to go in Puebla, Tonanzintla and Cholula. Everyone at the hotel was really nice and helpful. Food was great!! (Salted bread was not so good. It was great when it came right out of the oven). I would definitely stay at La Purificadora again.

Absolutely a design hotel

This is a gorgeous design hotel, and I will definitely be coming back. The thought that went into every detail of the design is evident throughout. Very calm, laid back atmosphere with the most attentive and friendly staff. The hotel was very clean, though I would recommend the hotel to do a deep cleaning of its pool and room floors (they are getting a bit old and worn!). The breakfast included was delicious, as was my dinner. I was traveling alone and felt very comfortable and at home at La Purificadora - mostly because the staff was so friendly and accommodating. The location is very central, yet tucked away giving you a serene escape from the busier city streets. I was mesmerized by the views from the terrace and from every room at every angle. I am a big supporter of Grupo Habita's hotels and this surely did not disappoint - well done, La Purificadora and Grupo Habita.

The hotel is over priced, bathrooms and overall facilities seem to be old, and believe it ir not there is no such thing as Hot water in the rooms. Breakfast is really bad, just fruit and ham. But the location is great and the fire pit at night is great as well.

If you want to sleep, AVOID! Next to church

The hotel looks pretty nice but it is starting to decay, the shower was not working already. They are next to a church and starting at 6 am it will be impossible to sleep. Every 15 minutes non stop the bells ring next to your head. Won´t ever stay at this hotel again! However I do highly recommend the restaurante awesome food and not expensive.

A real gem in Puebla, love the way it's tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Common areas and room are both gorgeous. My one complaint would be that, at the time we went in late February, it was a little dead so the atmosphere wasn't as lively as I suspect it is in the highest of high seasons. Also, they didn't really have the jacuzzi going and some things like that.

Chill on the terraza or the fire pits down below on a cool night and it doesn't get much better.

Beautiful hotel blending contemporary design with historic elements and setting. Rooms may lean a bit towards form over function, but still very comfortable. Staff were outstanding and went well above and beyond for me. Not right in the heart of the historic center but just across the street, which might be better. Very good value for money, in my opinion.

Beautiful modern hotel near historic center

La Purificadora is a very unique hotel that combines very modern architectural techniques and historic accents and structures. The service here was excellent and the staff very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and a wonderful variety of drink selections. The view from the rooftop terrace is stunning! The gardens and the San Francisco Church surrounding the hotel are breathtaking, whether at day or at night. Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so enjoyable!

Really good location and architecture. Hotel staff are nice and have a great attitude. However this hotel since it has such a modern architecture results unfriendly; i.e. there are no doors or walls in the dining room which make it really cold and windy. Regarding the rooms, they are modern but not cozy. I recommend to visit this hotel and have a drink in the roof bar but not to stay if you are planning to rest.

Actually this could be an excellent experience, there were many things I liked from this charming small boutique hotel:
- beautiful property. colonial+modern design and decoration.
- comfy, attractive and funtional rooms.
- amazing bath amenities (honey).
- acceptable service.
- recognition of being a VIP guest.
- good location.
- good in-house food.

why this wasn't a 5 star experience? because the noise. the rooms are not sound proof and at night and early morning you can hear the music from next door bar of the crowds attending the convention center. for many, this can be the deal-break.

Great Hotel, Great Location, Not Great Staff.

While the hotel is beautiful and in a great location, staff is not too helpful. Being an Expedia VIP+ Hotel, they should give special benefit to Gold+ Members, which they don´t. No special amenities, no complimentary food or drink, no room upgrade (although it was available when I stayed there) and not even a Late Check Out (I had to do Check Out at 13:00 if I wanted to avoid paying \"half a rent\"). Overall it was a very pleasent stay, but they should be listed as VIP+.

Stayed here for one night in January. Very nice, modern room. Very spacious with nice amenities. The restaurant and all the staff were also great! The location is safe and clean, close to lots of shops and bars. The historical area is accessible by taxi. The only issue we had with this place was the noise. Early in the morning we could hear people walking upstairs and staff jostling around the halls. Not sure we would stay here again just because of the noise.

This is a hotel with an amazing design. We took a friend from England and he said it was one of the coolest hotels he had stayed at.

The staff at the hotel are friendly and the hotel is in a great location near downtown historic sites.

The only downside is that the rooms are a bit noisy, we could hear the person in the room above us walking in the morning and that woke us up. Try booking a higher floor and you'll avoid that problem.

Expensive hotel in downtown Puebla

Well located in downtown Puebla, however hotel staff is not very helpful and if you have a car, parking it can become a nightmare since it´s not easy to find the place designated for guests.
There are events organized at the hotel pool frequently so if you want to swim or relax in the jacuzzi plan to do so in the morning.
The hotel is very noisy since it is surrounded by a shopping center so the streets outside are very crowded but on the other hand there are plenty of places close by to have dinner.
Pricey place to stay and more disadvantages than advantages. I would not recommend staying here, there are many other nice hotels in the area at affordable prices.

The hotel is out of Architectural Digest. However, it's inventive architecture was somewhat impractical; the onyx zero-barrier shower floor leaked, and the waterfall raised sink was difficult to clean. The fitness center was also pretty sparse for a hotel of this caliber. The pools are great, though. Otherwise, the location is fantastic, and staff helpful. The continental breakfast is excellent.

I consider myself an objective person and this is most definitely the worst hotel experience I have ever had! These guys make a pool party on Saturdays with extremely loud and annoying music. The crowd that attends this party made by the energy drinks MOSTER are probably the worst crowd in Puebla, seriously scary people and even dangerous (probably sons of drug lords in the area), a couple of really wasted guys tried to go in my girlfriends room when she came in and god knows what they could have done to her. I won’t stay in this hotel again even if it was free. I really hope people take my advice and don’t ever go to this hotel.

This hotel is located only 5 minutes walking from the city centre. You don´t need to rely on any public transport. You simply walk, cross the road, and in 5 minutes you are already in the historic centre. The roof terrace is great and the rooms are comfortable. Rooms are easy and functional. Wifi was slow and at times, did not work. As usual in these places, staff (particularly at the bar of the roof terrace) may show some attitude but generally, we were extremely happy. We asked for restaurant recommendations and a cab to Mexico city and all was made fautlessly. The key question: would I return? Yes.

Hotel located within a short walk to the main Zocalo. Hotel is very modern, and whilst the room was big and comfortable there was an element of echo in the room that was annoying. Air conditioning fan was so loud that we had to switch it off the hear the TV. However, would defintely recommend this hotel if you are travelling to the Puebla area.

La Purificadora: Masterpiece in form...comfort?

This hotel is an icon in the design world at global level! Waow! This is amazing, from the waterfall built into the stairs to the gasfired sit around fire places in the loby. Truely amazing. The 26 rooms are beautiful, minimalistic, clean and up to date.
Some of the \"comfort aspects\" of a hotel were left behind and forgotten while designing this wonderful space. We arrived in December and found ourselves looking for a comfortable spot to sit and talk. It was impossible. The outside temperatures were in the 50ties. The hotel is wide open without any protection from the outside cold. The staff walks around in overcoats and a few patio burners are supposed to keep the restaurant guests comfortable. Their was an event across the street at the Convention center and it was impossible to sleep. It felt like the band was playing in my room. Although the band stopped at 1am, the hotel was still noisy due to all the brick, concrete and open spaces. There was no business center at the hotel but the staff was kind enough to help us print our boarding passes. Lucky for us we did not stay over the weekend as the roof top bar gets pretty crowded. The swimming pool is a piece of art by itself. Just do not get out on the wrong side as you will find yourself dropping off a 4 story building.

Quite and very relaxing

The staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in. We hardly saw any other guests (it was late December). Weather was perfect. The hotel is a comfortable walk 6-8 blocks from the historic center of Puebla. Check to see what view is available from your room. Some rooms overlook a nice park, others overlook the courtyard of what looked to be a government office building.
