I have stayed at many hotels in Puebla and this one is unquestionably the worst. I chose it because it had a gym and breakfast. Not one piece of equipment worked. Nor did the internet in the room. The pillows are so hard and thick they’d make better sofa cushions. And then there was the smell. According to friends in Puebla, hotel is built over a large sewer drainage pipe. The H2S smell in the bathroom (and the rest of the room) was overpowering. I complained multiple times. To their credit, they sent someone to try to fix it but there was nothing to be done. They wouldn’t switch my room (although not sure this would have helped). There are FAR better hotels here for the price. I have no idea why this hotel gets such great reviews. Makes me not trust this app. The staff was friendly at least.

I had a terrible experience booking through Hotel.com. I made a confirmed reservation for a family member at Hotel 5 de Mayo in Puebla, Mexico, and when they arrived, they were told there were no rooms available, despite showing the confirmation.
No one took responsibility, and my family was left without a place to stay. Hotel.com offered no real help or solution. Extremely disappointing.
I won’t be using this service again. Very unreliable.

It was really close to downtown. You do have to cross a main busy street to get to the downtown area, it wasn’t hard to cross and did not have to wait long to do so. The hotel is very nice, clean, spacious and friendly. It is a family friendly place.

The breakfast was really good and the beds were comfortable. However we booked 2 junior suites and we're put up in one junior suite and one double room. But we're charged the junior suites price. There was no coffee/tea in the rooms or lobby. The pool is tiny and you have to walk outside down the parking lot to get to it and it's only 3 feet deep. They also do not have laundry available which was one of the reasons I booked this hotel. They also did not have a shuttle for us. We were woken up at 5 am by loud people banging on a door and shouting in the hallway which lasted at least 20 minutes. We also almost got hit by a car crossing the street.

La television no se ve nada bien y el cuarto estaba caliente, lo reporte a recepcion y mandaron a el de mantenimiento a lo cual el de mantenimiento me dijo que no estaba enfriando bien que por que todos los cuartos estaban ocupados y estaban usando el aire acondicionado y segun el le movio algo al control y que regresaba en una hora para checar si habia enfriado y nunca volvio y aparte estos son aires acondicionados individuales y no tiene nada que ver que todos los cuartos esten ocupados ya que no es un aire central y aun asi aunque fuera central debe tener la capacidad para enfriar todos sin ningun problema, pero para no discutir no dije nada y esperar que cuando regresara que me iba a decir, pero ya no regreso y ami parecer deben de contratar una persona de mantenimento mas profesional y a lo mismo en recepcion por que le reporte mas de dos veces que el cuarto y la tele no servian y no me hicieron caso.

The staff was friendly, gracious, and accommodating. The room was a basic room, but had everything I needed. A short walk from the Historic Centro area. Was right on a very busy roadway, which made getting an Uber very easy, though it made crossing it a puzzle to be solved, but once I figured it out , it was easy enough to cross safely. Area was safe in general. I enjoyed my time.

There aré several things that I liked during the two nights I stayed in this hotel. For example the cleanness, was excellent, the kindness of the employees was amazing. Moreover the service from the waitstaff was more than excellent. In conclusion I highly recommend this hotel.

El hotel está cerca al centro histórico, 20 minutos caminando. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas y limpias con buena iluminación y aire acondicionado. El check in y la atención fueron muy buenas, en especial Jesus, muy amable. El único problema fue que la sala para el desayuno es pequeña y no es suficiente para atender a la capacidad del hotel con lo que se forman unas largas colas.

The room is a lovely design right from the ability to park by your room, to the sitting area at room entry and generous bedroom to the toilet separated from the sink and shower area. The decor is nice. The location is a short walk to the historic center. Staff are friendly and helpful. The wine selection was not good in the dining room example: no white. The bottle of red we then chose was not in stock and finally ended up with a glass of not good red. The food was passable. We were the only ones eating dinner. BF was pastries, fruit salad and eggs with fresh juice and coffee - very good

Very disrespectful at reception, they try to take advantage of anything, I cama back late from a party a little hungover, and slept a little bit over the checkout time, they call me at around 1:30 and tell me that I have one minute to leave, I said I have to pick up my stuff, it’ll take me five minutes, and he replies raising his voice “one minute”. Checkout time was at 1:00 p. m. Will not come back or recomend hotel cinco the Mayo at all.

The stay was most comfortable! It is close and convenient to Historic Puebla, and many fine restaurants and Fort Lorento and the Park that overlooks the city. The service was very nice and the room comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. The rain forest shower and the pool were relaxing and a nice plus. The breakfast and staff were great. Wonderful stay and recommend 5 de Mayo.

The staff were amazing and the breakfast fabulous!!! The part I stayed in was more like a motel - yet not quite so if you have a car it would be perfect. The only thing is that crossing the street to get to the zocolo was not so easy ~ it is a very busy boulevard. Other than that it was great!
