I almost never leave reviews positive or negative, but this place is incredible. Perfect location, right in the action. Spa with sauna/cold plunge circuit on-site. The staff was overly attentive and helpful + I'd highly recommend getting the ground floor beachfront rooms. Walk out into the beauty of Tulum.

Great ,fresh food for all meals. Fantastic location right on Tulum beach, far enough away from beach clubs not to be disturbed at night but close enough to walk to them in the evening.

Plenty of choice of hotels in the Tulum hotel zone and this was our first visit to the area. Having now been I would 100% choose this hotel again over all the others... small, charming, cool vibe...just great

This resort exceeded our expectations in every way. Service, cleanliness, attention to detail, food quality, knowledgeable, going above and beyond in every way to make our stay beyond perfect. The front desk staff, the wait staff, the cleaning staff, the yoga instructor, the tequila tasting director, the spa staff. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back for sure!

A perfect place to relax - massages were excellent and food is equally as good. Ziggys dinner was not that great- fish under cooked and shrimp soggy and when we mentioned it to the waiter he just said “sorry” and never offered to take it off the menu. It was expensive and. It worth the price. breakfast at both restaurants were excellent. Fresh everything!

Exemplary hotel. The staff are wonderful and you get a friendly welcome as soon as you check in. The beach area is well looked after (always raking away seaweed) & the palms are beautiful- unlike many beach clubs close by which look unkempt and piled high with seaweed. This area really makes the hotel. It has a jungle/authentic feel rather than a soulless resort & with great service & very beautiful. The rooms are immaculately clean, & you can hear the sea all the time which I love. Brekfast is amazing, very generous with lots of veg & vegan options too, smoothies etc & can be brought to your room or beach even for no extra cost. Food & drink is a little pricey- but you are on Tulum beach. Cocktails are great w daily happy hour. Thank you to Teo, David, Diego, Aldo & Jorge for their friendly service. And for reception who helped by printing off some documents for me. I also had a great massage at the spa, although it ran short by around 10/15 minutes. This is my only complaint really.
There’s live music next door every night at ziggys & the hotel is walkable to lots of restaurants, both high end and more laid back taco spots. This is my second visit and I will no doubt return. Gracias!

loved this place! if you're looking for the perfect CENTRAL location that is literally right in the hot spot for food and energy, but there's no beach club which can be Seriously loud and overwhelming on the beach, the pool and the sleep= then try this place. no beach club, great restaurant and awesome people. good pool too! also the Beach chairs are somehow plentiful enough that. you dont have to worry about getting out there to save one, and they're free!

The staff were all amazing, so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was great with very comfy beds, cleaned daily. Food at both restaurants was excellent and the location on the beach was perfect for a relaxing beach holiday but you do need transport to go into town.

We had such an amazing stay at this boutique hotel! Super cute vibe, super clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though the ocean wasn’t great because of the sargassum, we still had a wonderful time in Tulum. I’d definitely recommend visiting between October and March for better beach conditions. We didn’t rent a car, but the hotel arranged all our transportation, which made everything super easy. Meeting Simon, our driver, was a total bonus—he was awesome! Definitely one of our favorite stays

We planned a last-minute getaway to Tulum and I found Cabañas thanks to its great reviews, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived the staff was friendly and helpful. Excursions to the cenotes and Chichén Itzá were arranged for us by the front desk, along with a tequila and mezcal tasting at Ziggy's Beach Bar restaurant. Every single one of those experiences was delightful, from our guides, drivers, and other guests that we met on the trip. I highly recommend this resort property and Tulum overall.

We stayed at Cabañas for 4 days, and had an ocean front room on the second floor which came with a private terrace and hot tub. The room was very comfortable and the hotel provided a beach bag, towels, and water in the room (we asked for more everyday and they always brought it right away). The beach is a few steps away and there were always chairs and beach beds available, unlike the big resorts where there are always towels in every chair.The service and kindness of everyone working here sets the place apart, Nancy, David, Lula made our stay very pleasant.The wellness activities that are included were great and allowed us to relax, they also have a pool table that we used when it rained. You can also use the spa which looked great, we didn't have time to try it. We had breakfast at Ziggys everyday which is included and you can get 2 dishes per person so we tried the chilaquiles and fruit salad which were amazing! The hotel is nearby many restaurants, we walked every night to try different ones, bring comfortable shoes as the path to the restaurants gets muddy when it rains.

The beach was amazing, the service was next level, and everyone was so nice.

Great location right on the beach and the main strip of restaurants and bars in the hotel zone.

The food at the hotel was delicious and they always took care of anything we needed or asked for!

The WhatsApp with the concierge and restaurants was so convenient. You can’t beat ordering food and drinks right to your beach chair.

We also got a massage and used the hydrotherapy which was very relaxing.

I would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend staying here!

This is beautiful property. The hotel is small, quiet and located on beautiful white sandy beach. The free breakfast was delicious prepared from fresh fruits and vegetables. We came to celebrate my husband birthday. They surprised him with bottle of sparkling wine and little cake on his birthday. There is a lot of restaurants in close distance so we had wide dining options. We enjoy to seat and relaxed on the patio listening the noise of wives. The beach is cleaned every morning from sea weeds. The service was excellent . The staff was very friendly and polite. We spent a lot of time swimming in the swimming pool because windy weather made so huge sea waves. This place is great for relaxation.We thinking to come back.

Absolute paradise. This is a spectacular beachfront hotel, and by far exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the beachfront rooftop room with a jacuzzi, which was a stunning room - probably the best room we've ever stayed in. The view was a dream. When it was too hot for the beach, we sat on the balcony, sipping drinks and looking out over the turquoise sea.
We came to celebrate a special birthday, and when we arrived, the hotel had decorated the room and placed a chilled bottle of sparkling wine on the table! It was so sweet and we were blown away.
The staff are fantastic - incredibly friendly and helpful - we felt so welcomed and looked after, from the moment we arrived to our departure. Their restaurant Frescos was brilliant, and loved the fact that you could have room/beach service from them. Spent 5 nights here, and were very sad to leave!

Our intentions were on a quiet place, this is it. We had the 1st floor with our own hot pool looking right to the ocean through beautiful foliage and palm trees. Onsite restaurant/bar super convenient but go to Ziggys 2 minute walk. All connected so no money needed. Great food, great people and live music. Table service on the beach beds. Be sure to try the Tuna nachos. Best beach, sand and water Cabanas is perfect at about half the price but close to all the best restaurants to spend more on!

We loved our stay at Cabanas Tulum. The service was top notch, Ken at the front desk and Guillermo and Philippe at Frescos made us feel like family. The breakfast at Frscos was fantastic every morning. The hotel location was perfect, in the middle of the hotel zone but quiet. The beach loungers in the shade never felt crowded like at neighboring hotels. The beach and ocean is beautiful. Highly recommend Cabanas Tulum

Our stay at Cabanas was amazing. We chose the property because of the incredible online reviews and it exceeded our expectations. The location is great, the property is beautiful and well taken care of but what makes Cabanas different from anywhere else in the beach zone, are the people working there. They do an incredible job at making you feel welcome and special. Front desk staff was especially helpful and shout out to their horticulturalist for taking such great care of their gardens (they were PRISTINE).
The check in process was easy and they provided a super tasty Welcome Drink. Loved using WhatsApp to contact concierge or room service to order drinks and lunch from Frescos, which was always delicious and super quick to be made/delivered to our room.
The room was exceptionally clean and we loved having our own private plunge pool and sun bathing deck off the main pool. The private plunge pool was the temperature of bath water and was so lovely at night.
The beach was very private and clean - workers did a great job at clearing the sargassum.
The included breakfast was also amazing. Such a nice perk to have when everything in the hotel zone is a bit overpriced! You could order two drinks and two entrees/person each breakfast but we found one entree was satisfying.
The location is perfect yet somehow quiet. The photos online do not do this property justice, especially the pool area. It was stunning and usually empty! We can’t wait to return. Thank you so much.

The Cabanas Beach Hotel and Spa was an amazing experience for us and our 2 teenage daughters. The property is luxurious but not pretentious. The food was super fresh with many healthy options. The spa was fantastic! I loved the morning yoga and were lucky enough to be staying when they offered a sound healing. Such an amazing experience! The beach and rooms were beautiful. We highly recommend the property if you want a healthy relaxing option in a great location.

It was such a pleasure to stay at this hotel! The staff and service was always top notch. Staff was very friendly, informative, ready to assist my husband and I with all requests. Our room had everything we needed! The private rooftop decks were a perfect end to our days.The beach was perfect!! Location was everything. We often walked to our dinner reservations. Now I have to admit when I read the breakfast was included I did not expect the quality, freshness, taste that both fresco and ziggys offered!! I was so pleasantly surprised. I loved the healthy options to start our days! The steak at ziggy's is now one of my top 5 steaks I've eaten. It was everything we needed. Perfect to relax and enjoy a lovely vacation. Thank you to all who made our stay so memorable! Front desk was always ready to offer their knowledge and their suggestions were awesome each time. The staff goes above & beyond to make any accommodation. They are super friendly. Well knowledgeable of the area, places that should visit and restaurant that should dine at. They’d coordinate a tour, cab, dinner reservations, to transfers transport. Love the place. If you are of those that like watching TV their rooms don’t have a TV. I didn’t need it, I realized 3 days after. There’s so much to do that you don’t want to waste your time watching tv.
Thanks to Alejandría and Lorena at the front desk our trip was memorable.

The location is excellent. Food was great! Beach was amazing. Staff was very friendly. The downside- The hot water took forever to work and we couldn’t get the shower to turn on. The hand sprayer worked but was located in the most awkward place. Would spray everywhere into the bathroom so I had to hold it while the water heated up or turn it to spray into the window. The upstairs needed new paint, looked a little moldy by the hot tub.

I’ve been to multiple hotels and by far Hotel Cabanas has been the BEST! This is how you show your guests good customer service. Antonio, Jesse and Alexandria such gracious hosts, they were absolutely amazing. Whatever you need, they’ll provide assistance. The hotel is beautiful, they provide delicious breakfast every morning and most of all with Covid they kept everything clean. You can also depend on them to get Covid testing info for which was a huge deal and you need it to return to the States! They made my birthday so special! Thanks Hotel Cabanas❤️

Great stay at Cabañas Tulum for the weekend. I have to say that almost everything went well, except that it was imposible to contact the hotel on the phone and that they did not respond to my 2 beds request. When I arrived they told me they did not have rooms left with two beds, the least they could have done was notifying me before arrival
I had to switch hotels with my son and daughter because of it
So, make sure you go couples only.

We stayed at Cabanas Tulum for the last 3 days of our honeymoon and had the most incredible stay. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that you are having the best time, and even gave us champagne and rose petals in our room on the first night which was so wonderful and romantic. The breakfast at Fresco's was delicious, as was the room service from Ziggy's where we enjoyed a fantastic meal under the stars and views of the milky way from our rooftop jacuzzi! The beach despite the sargasso seaweed was still absolutely beautiful. In fact, the effort the staff put in every day to clear the seaweed was nothing short of incredible and we were so grateful for their hard work. We were privileged to see baby turtles hatching on the beach one night, which has to go down as one of our top experiences of all time! Honestly just a fantastic stay from start to finish! We could not recommend this place enough. Thank you so much to all the staff who looked after us.

Wonderful week at Cabanas Tulum

My wife and I just returned from a week at Cabanas Tulum where we enjoyed a fabulous stay. The ground floor, beach front room was charming, clean and very comfortable. The grounds were very well cared for and tended to on a daily basis. The beach cleaning crew worked incredibly hard all day, every day to keep the beach clean of seaweed resulting in the best beach front of any of the resorts we walked by every day. The service we received at all of the facilities including the beach bar, Fresco's and Ziggy's was fantastic. Everyone on the Cabanas Tulum staff was warm and welcoming at all times. Can't say enough about this place and we look forward to our next trip.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Cabañas Tulum for a week. We had a GREAT time. Tulum is a bit more laid back than Cancun and has a much more Mexican feel. Having access to free bikes was very convenient. It allowed us to go into Tulum town and shop nearby. For farther trips (to a Cenote and the ruins), the staff arranged a scooter rental for us.

Most importantly, the staff was awesome. They were always friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange whatever plans we needed to and went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. We stayed in a room with a rooftop spa bath. At their recommendation, we told them when we were 30 minutes away from returning, and had it ready for us when we got there. We would probably never have thought to request that kind of service, but they were more than happy to provide it.

I would recommend CT to anyone interested in Tulum. Great place.

And the room was bright, clean, and peaceful. Comfy bed and quiet at night. Can't beat the view and sound of the waves and that ocean breeze! The bikes were a great perk too.

The BEST place to stay -- we loved it!

We can not express enough our gratitude for the amazing staff and experience we had at the Cabanas Tulum. It was our honeymoon and we were nervous going to a new place -- but now we want to move in! Rooms were immaculate, staff was so helpful and friendly and efficient, beach was dream dead gorgeous and you felt a calm sense of privacy. The food was also top notch!!!
They help arrange airport transportation, answered all of my silly questions before the trip, set up champagne and roses in the room for our honeymoon, bring drinks and food to the beach during the day. Housekeeping comes whenever you want, rooms are so clean and the sheets are soft. No loud noises, just ocean sounds.
We went to a lot of different hotels on our stay to look and this was by far the best fit-if you want privacy and delicious food and even free bicycles then this is it!

NO SUPPORT FROM HOTELS.COM PHONE REPRESENTATIVES

I have arrived at the Hotel Cabanas Tulum at 4 PM last Thursday, exhausted after a 6 hours delayed flight. The check-in time at the hotel was 3 PM. At 4 PM they did not have ANY rooms on my booking category available and asked me to wait for one hour, also communicating that I would have to change rooms the next day! I was exhausted and called hotels.com to ask for help. Spent 90 minutes, yes 90 minutes, trying to get someone at hotels.com customer service to help me. All I got was local representatives in Mexico that was helpless. I have then tried to find another hotel room in the hotel next door, but was unable to do it on my own and without the help of hotels.com, impossible. So at 6PM I went back to Cabanas Tulum reception and by that time , after I lost 2 hours, I checked in into a room that did not have a king size bed, but I accepted as I was exhausted. Hotel staff was nice with me. My real issue this time was with the lack of support from hotels.com. I have booked this trip via your service to have support if needed and also to be loyal and get my points, although I was traveling with other people that booked directly with the hotel and paid almost 100 dols less per night. In summary, I have spent 300 dols more and got NO SUPPORT, lost 2 hours on the phone, etc. Very disappointed.

Incredible!

What an incredible hotel. The staff was super friendly, attentive to every desire and the rooms were great. bed and bedding was super comfy. Also the front desk people spoke great English so it was easy to communicate.

The hotel has a great little beach bar and at the sister hotel next door they have a restaraunt, Ziggy's.

The food was incredible. So fresh and delicious. Some of the best hotel food and cocktails I've ever had. The guacamole, coconut shrimp, fish tacos, grilled lobster and steak were all amazing. There really was no need to go anywhere else.

When you order a drink, they cut up the fruit right then and blend it. Everything is hand made with a lot of care and love. The coco-passion is arguably the best beach cocktail of all time.

Plus the hotel uses \"Whatsapp\" so you could order anything from the bar or restaraunt at any time and they'd gladly bring it to your room or the beach. Life doesn't get much better than grilled lobster deliverd to your beach bed.

The beach in front of the hotel was amazing and the water was great for swimming. There's a constant breeze which makes the heat of the day very bearable.

A nice touch is the little foot baths off the deck that you can rinse the sand off your feet.

Food is healthy and delicious! Great value.
The only negatives are that the pillows on the beds are terrible and the pool is a little lame but the beach is truly spectacular! Palm trees on the beach and white sand, truly a slice of paradise.

Very nice hotel and great staff

Cabañas Tulum is well located near restaurants, shops and right in front of the beach. We had a very good experience with the staff as they were very welcoming and friendly. We had an issue with our room (the roof had a water leak) and the staff did everything they could to find us another room. They even helped us moving all of our belonging to the new room. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tulum.

A Slice of Paradise

My experience was lovely...tranquil, natural beauty, no loud music blasting, pristine beach, a super kind staff...all good. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. I would not recommended eating dinner there (Ziggy's) because the portions are tiny and the prices are high.

To get downtown a taxi is needed...no worries, you can catch one within minutes. There are lots of restaurants (downtown); but, El Carmello's is off the hook ( no pun intended)!! The seafood is ridiculously fresh and abundant. Portions are large and the prices are very reasonable.

This is the place to go if you are seeking harmony with nature and pure relaxation. I shall return.

Amazing stay!

My husband and I stayed at Cabanas Tulum for 7 nights and feel we chose a great hotel.

The rooms were great. Not too small, just enough to hang our clothes and sleep. The bathroom was actually quite generous with the shower being one of the biggest I’ve seen.
We stayed in the garden view. Oceanfront would have been nice, but we were fine. The beach is only a few steps away and you can still hear the ocean from our room and porch.

The beach is one of the best in Tulum. Sand was white and water was clear blue!
They will serve you drinks and food on the beach but only complaint is Ziggy’s beach bar that serves the drinks is too far of a walk to be for a drink and it takes too long for the server to return if you order one from them. Round trip it would take about 40 mins to receive a drink. They could use a small beach bar next to Cabanas Tulum for easier access to drinks. They mentioned they are building a restaurant to accommodate this very issue. I hope so because it became tiresome to gets drinks everyday.

Staff was wonderful! Very accommodating to our every need. Everyone was so sweet and made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you!

Breakfast @ Ziggy’s every morning was awesome! Great perk and worth the money for the room.

Fantastic Stay

Cabanas was exactly what we wanted from our Tulum getaway. On the beach, relaxing, friendly and helpful staff that made us feel at home, great food and drinks, and close to all the fun that Tulum has to offer. We loved Tulum and a big part of that had to do with Cabanas and the staff. They found out we were there celebrating my birthday and they put up balloons and streamers in our room with a complimentary bottle of Sparkling wine. When they found out my boyfriend had gotten sick they went above and beyond offering any help they could and checking in on us. It was so nice to stay in a place like Cabanas, they made us feel right at home. Having Ziggy's Beach Club right next door was really great, we loved our morning breakfast on the beach and the amazing food and drinks there. Overall we had no complaints whatsoever. We Highly recommend Cabanas for anyone's trip to Tulum.

Best ocean view on Tulum beach. Steps from water.

It was paradise. 5 star view. Staff was friendly. Food the best on the Tulum hotel zone. I would recommend this hotel if you desire a small and private place without all the crowds. I will be back someday. Alejandro, Erica and Samuel hotel staff made us feel at home - thank you for everything. Price very reasonable.

Nice cabins for a short stay..

My husband and I stayed for two days. Right from the start the staff was awesome, we were received with great smiles and super nice people. The beach wasn't what we expected to see. It was still with quite a few algae. The rooms were pretty simple. All white walls, a small wooden table, large bed, and a mall closet with a safe. The other room was set up with the shower, him and her sink, and the bathroom. It could use a few touch ups here and there inside the rooms. Other than that, the service we got was excellent!!!

Fantastic views, great service, and comfortable!

I traveled with a friend for my birthday from Aug 5 until Aug 9, their off-season, and was NOT disappointed. From the second we sat down to check in until we left, we felt like we were part of the family. Elizabeth at the front desk was fabulous and we will miss her dearly!

The walk to the beach took mere minutes, which was great considering there's a seaweed/seagrass problem going on (Thanks, Florida!) which made the water a little unsafe... so when we needed a cool down, it was just a quick sneak up to the room to cool down in the shower. There aren't any rugs in the room, it's a concrete floor, which meant sandals weren't a necessity so you could easily step out from the shower and back to your beach chair in minutes.

The beach was clean and the areas where sea turtles have nested are clearly marked. I loved the beach hammock (did I mention each room has it's own hammock on their decks/patios?) and swing set. Also... a 6am wake up for the sunrise is well worth the loss of sleep!

Meals are handled at Ziggy's restaurant two doors down, and your stay includes breakfast! Ziggy's has great food ... I recommend the vanilla ice cream with strawberries and cardamom for dessert! Delicious!

The front desk staff will also help you arrange taxis (we did have a mishap where we asked for a taxi into town and ended up at a restaurant down the street, but it was quickly rectified) and any water activities/excursions you want to do. We did snorkeling and a cenote - fabulous!
