A staff member tried to enter our room while we were sleeping. Thank goodness we always use extra caution when staying at hotels and had the door chain and a chair under the handle. The door unlocked and someone tried to enter but once my husband said something the person swiftly left.

Pool area was so humid and smelled of chlorine it made it hard to breath and the pool towels are the size of dish towels.

Stains all over the couch /pull out bed.
Very dirty window coverings
Toilet and tub chipped and worn.
Furniture banged up and scratched.

I spent lots of time looking through reviews and comparing prices for this stay bc my daughter wanted to swim. Just for us to check in after a long day and the pool door had a sign saying it was closed. They didn’t have it posted on the website and never mentioned it during check in. When I called and asked they said it was for maintenance but never seen anyone working on it. Our room carpets were dirty with fingernail clippings, even found a cheap ring. Breakfast was terrible. Dry muffins, hard bagels, Potatoes were old and hard with no seasonings. Waffle machine was the only exception.

The room was absolutely immaculate, I loved the comfort level. I walked in. It was a cold day. And the heat was already on. So the room was comfortable, I was able to shower without turning on the heat and waiting for the room to warm up. The comforter the sheets, the pillows, everything was clean. Housekeeping brought new tiles and washcloths, which I really appreciated

The first room smelled like urine. The next room we went to the remote didn't work and the microwave had a broken button. The tub wouldn't drain and we didn't want to have dirty water at our feet so we couldn't even bathe. Definitely never coming back here again.

I was told breakfast was from 6-9 a.m. when I checked in last night. When I came out at 5:50 the breakfast area was completely dark with no one around. There was no one at the front desk. I couldn't imagine breakfast happening by 6. Additionally whatever room freshener was being used in the front entry was so overpowering it gave the appearance that it was covering something up. Lastly, the noise from the road made it difficult to sleep. It wasn't a pleasant stay.

The only complaints I have is the phone in our room did not work at all so we couldn’t call out or contact front desk when we discovered the volume control on our remote was broken. I had to go down to the front desk, but they did swap that out for us.

Desk clerk at check in was polite and friendly. I was not impressed that the was not a blow dryer in the room. Would have preferred to be able to wash my hair before checking out, but couldn’t as there was no blow dryer, and I wasn’t comfortable going out in 43* weather with wet hair.

Very dirty!! We stayed 5 whole nights and they didn’t vacuum anything ONCE! Had to ask for basic cleaning to be done and they still neglected to vacuum even the hallways. We paid extra to stay in a suite with a whirlpool and that was dirty too - didn’t even use it. Carpet was absolutely disgusting. We had a hard time sleeping there - we complained, nothing changed. Only reason we didn’t switch is because I didn’t have the energy or time to deal with it (we were on a tight business schedule) Staff didn’t care much and there was just a lack of care with the entire place.

The first room had mold in the tub and toilet ran. Moved to another room had lots of rust and mold in the tub. Food was just Luke warm hot water for drinks not really even warm. I asked for towels and they were not given so I had to go down and get myself. Vaccum was not ran and bathroom floor not swept and trash no emptied so I did trash and made the bed. Now front desk employees were friendly. Food area was pulled early 4 of the days and coffee was lacking as well. I was not impressed and will not stay in a Wingate again.

Check in was swift and easy since I completed the process online ahead of time. We had to switch rooms, as room 107 had an ammonia smell (think cat urine) to it, the dresser was in disrepair, and the sofa was stained and falling apart. We were moved to room 201 with no issue. There was no over powering smell, but the carpet is in major need of a deep cleaning or replacement. The sofa was stained, so we placed the extra sheets over it to make a barrier. The tub was slow draining - it puddled at your feet while showering. We only stayed 2 days, so let the staff know about the tub upon checking out. We visit Indy regularly, but won't return to stay here.

Cleanliness is a big concern for this Hotel

The hotel was not clean at all. We were there for three days and there was trash sitting on the table in front of the elevator on the third floor the entire time. The floors had not been vacuumed in the hallways and the walls in the elevator obviously had not been wiped down in quite a while with handprints and what looked like slobber all over them. Outside by the cigarette ashtray was a towel on the ground the entire time we were there, right in front of the front entrance way. We also found a roach in our room by the coffee maker, needless to say we did not use it. The hot tub was disgusting with some kind of film and debris in the water. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was only a few miles away from our event and was inexpensive. If you are expecting anything fancy, you can just look elsewhere. The building is very dated. The hot breakfast that is offered can be skipped entirely. It was fine for our needs, just don't expect much.

There are numerous stains in the carpet and on the furniture. My bathroom had mold under the soap holders, the showerhead needs to be replaced, and a soap dispenser was broken. I alerted the staff about these issues and they did their best to fix them, but it seems nobody is checking rooms to ensure they are clean and ready for guests.

The toilet drained slowly when I said something to the person at the desk he handed me a plunger instead of sending someone to looks at it. No cleaned the bathroom my hole stay. I liked the fact there was a lot of options for shopping and eating within a few miles of the restaurant, some actually on the same street. Seemed to be a very safe location with multiple other hotels on that dame road. Breakfast was very good and a few different options to choose from. Pool was very nice, a little on the cooler side though. I would definitely stay again if in the area.

Gentleman that checked us in was very nice. Room ac was set on 60 degrees and was freezing when we arrived. The pool area was cold and the water was so cold that I couldn’t get in with my gr son and partner. It was a good thing that we took room towels down because there was only 1 towel in the pool area. The hallway and the elevators needed vacuumed. We stayed here a couple years ago and while we didn’t use the pool that time we remember it being much nicer. The staff was nice and the room was clean. With it being in a convenient area we probably will stay again. Hopefully they will take our criticism and correct the issues.

There was a few flaws with the room, but that’s to be expected with an older hotel and renovations you can see have happened so that’s a good thing. There was a weird dip in the floor in my room, but like I said, I know there are renovations going on so it’s to be expected, but it was very nice clean and the staff was impeccable sweet people. The staff assisted us in moving to another room that accommodated our family better. The fan did not work in either bathroom though so it got very steamy and therefore the tile was slick. The breakfast was ok but the meat they served was sausage for 7 days straight! Overall, the staff was very helpful and the hotel is clean and comfortable.

The beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good. The WiFi connectivity is poor. Every day, sometimes more than once, you have to reconnect and it’s not immediate. Housekeeping only left new towels in the bathroom, only emptied the trash once the whole 6 day stay, didn’t even make the beds. Discovered a dirty area on the bathroom door on our last day. Gross.
