I booked the room for my two adult daughters to have one night without the babies and to get some much quiet and relaxation, sleep. Well none of that happened. Kids where running up and down the hall scream and yelling, while their parents were having a big party .and then there was a couple fighting. They couldn't even enjoy the hot tub due to kids in there playing. Making the reservation then was my worest mistake. Also an employee was living in one of the meeting rooms with her kids..so don't stay here if you want quiet and rest. Money wasted.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly. Neighborhood felt safe.
But the rooms were in poor repair. Our room had burn marks in the carpet, and a section of the floor had a large soft spot where the floor under the carpet is failing. The bathroom door couldn't be latched closed. The window was seized and couldn't be opened. Needed paint touched up and caulk around the tub.
We asked if there was another room available and we're given access to the room next door. It was even worse. That bathroom door wouldn't close either. And the window one side was stuck partially open and couldn't be closed and the other side was cracked. You could clearly hear noise from outside. We stayed in the first room.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS BED BUG INFESTED HOTEL. Got woke up at 230am due to a bed bug biting my 6 months pregnant wife. My 5 year old daughter was in the same bed with her but luckily wasn't affected. So we went to the front desk lady Nancy and was told we couldn't get a refund due to it being booked through a third party. She stated we could be relocated to a different room, but why would we want to do that after being traumatized. So we sat out in the parking lot in below freezing temperature for an hour trying to deal with hotels.com for a refund. Wasn't getting anywhere so started the over an hour drive back home even though this was the first night of a two night stay. About 30 minutes into the drive hotels.com mentioned being relocated instead of having to drive home then back in a few hours to take our daughter to our previously planned trip to the children's museum. So pulled over and sat on hold with them until we could finally get relocated to a better location and booked into the room at now 6:30am. So we sat in the freezing temperature/ran my car wasting gas for 3 and a half hours waiting for some sort of resolution. When I spoke to the front staff of the hotel she assured me the GM Gabbie would be in the next day and would call me regarding the situation. When I finally woke up at 12pm with hardly any rest due to having nightmares I had yet to receive a call from her. When I called she was very unemphatic. Said that's what happens when you stay at hotels. SMH!

We have stayed there with ok experience in in past. Noise was the main issue. This stay was unacceptable because of mold. I am very sensitive to mold after having been deployed to Biloxi for Katrina. My lungs started closing up while staying in the room. Mold was visible.

Lighting is outdated and insufficient. The switch inside the door operates nothing.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this location was genuinely disappointing — especially given the circumstances.

My stay coincided with a declared state of emergency due to severe winter weather, which made clear communication and basic support even more important. Unfortunately, communication from this location was extremely poor. I reached out multiple times with questions and concerns and received little to no response, leaving me without guidance during an already stressful and unsafe situation.

When issues did arise, there was no sense of urgency, ownership, or follow-through from staff. During a state of emergency, guests rely on hotels not just for lodging, but for accurate information, responsiveness, and a basic level of care. That expectation was not met here.

I understand that unexpected situations happen — especially during severe weather. However, how those situations are handled matters, and in this case, they simply weren’t.

I would strongly recommend additional training around communication, escalation, and guest care, particularly during emergency situations. Based on this experience, I would not choose to stay at this location again.

Went for new years eve with my 10 year old son and his friend and it was loud and we could smell nothing but weed the whole entire night! Fridge didn't work at all, there was no body wash in the shower bottle ((yes i told the lady at the desk, she was worthless about any of it)) the night girl was nice and helpful though. The room was a 7/10. The smell was strong, almost like an antique store. There was an old coffee bag left in the pot, which was no biggie but a tad gross. In the room we were in, the air conditioning didn’t work. It would come on but the air was not very cool (I did not report this to staff because we ended our stay early due to my toddler getting a stomach bug, so no fault of their own I’m sure they would have fixed our issue!) Fortunately, it was cold outside so we just cracked the window and slept peacefully! It was very quiet and relaxing.
I’m very weary of staying in new places, but I looked thoroughly and didn’t see any bugs of any kind.
You can not beat the price and location!
Breakfast was amazing in the morning with many many varieties and a warm welcoming from the desk ladies. Their laughs and energy were contagious!
The pool was cold but the kids didn’t mind, when they got too cold they just dipped in the hot tub.
I would 100% stay here again in the future!

We only stayed one night but the room was clean, comfortable, and safe. Love all the space and the wood work in the hotel. The staff was extremely nice. The two big plusses about Baymont Plainfield are: (1) it's proximity to the airport (but not TOO close) and (2) it's location amid breakfast restaurants and other amenities. It's an easy exit off of Hwy 70 west (one stop further SW).
The hotel itself is starting to age a bit, but it's fine. (Toilet flush has issues and sliding door on closet was off its track.) If you need something close to the airport that isn't noisy and is easy to get to when you're travel-lagged, this is a great location.

Staff was rude , hotel is dirty DO NOT STAY HERE! Pay the extra for a different hotel. It was not only creepy but smells bad. When asked about getting our dirty sheets changed when we arrived they told us to change them ourselves as there is no night time house keeping. There was hair all over the bathroom as well. We are still fighting to get our money back from the first night that we spent a short time there. We relocated to another hotel and in making new friends they told us they were there as well and left because of drugs under the mattress.

For the price ($250) total, for a 2 night stay. It wasn't bad. The room had a hot tub in it. It was just old and run down. But it was clean and everything worked in the room. There are like 4 restaurants and 2 gas stations / convenient stores, right outside the parking lot. 6.5/10 I would stay again.
