I recommend this place for affordability and location. Much cheaper than a hotel, and the double bed-room was comfortable. Some of the finishes were a little worn, but for a hostel, I can't complain. I recommend for solo travelers.

The only good thing about this hostel is the location as it is a street away from the metro station. Aside from that, this is the filthiest hostel I have ever stayed in. I place looks like a hoarders live in the “kitchen area.” The refrigerator hasn’t been cleaned in over a year, food is shoved into every nook, extension cords are a bliss and the floor hasn’t not been mopped since installed.
When can be found, the staff is not at all helpful at providing simple information that they should know.
The rooms are less than halfway decent in comfort but look as though the walls will soon crumble from lack of construction and patching.
There was a girl who, for two nights slept in the kitchen and did not move, as to be passed out from a night of hard drinking. Another girl who must be living there would dry her hair at the dining tables and brush her teeth in the kitchen sink rather than use the bathroom in her assigned room.
Fortunately I wasn’t expecting much and slept there only for three hours and used the place as a luggage storage and location to charge my phone. I do not recommend this place to anyone no mater the price.

The staff was excellent! They stayed an hour late for us to check in when we didn’t know what time check in ended. And the room was very clean and well decorated! We felt right at home. We will definitely be coming here again! (And will be there before check in ends! Sorry!)

Very friendly atmosphere. Nice kitchen with drinks available. I was originally booked into the larger mixed dorm but got upgraded to the 6-bed female dorm when I arrived, which was really good for me as a young solo female traveller. Really convenient, central location. Overall, a comfortable and easy stay!

It is a pretty cool hostel. I had a private room. It was the perfect size for one. Hostel is super close to subway exit. During my time there, there was 2 different front desk guys. They were both friendly, respectful, & helpful.

I usually stay here when I come to Seoul. This is third times of me. staffs are so kind generous and hospitality. It’s nice although come alone. My room is upgraded! It ‘s really nice. Room space is useful~ It’s reasonable price ^^

Open My Eyes To Korea!

The people and staff here open my eyes to Korea. I had no idea coming here and thinking I would sleep in all day. The LGBT friendly, Open minded, Caring Staff took great care of me and made a warm and very fun atmosphere! Naji was the best! look for her when you come, she is the cool american girl! The wi-fi also very good and fast!

No Frills Hostel

This was my first time staying at a hostel. I had to stay here in a pinch because all other hotels were full during Seoul Fashion Week. This is a cheap, cheap no frills place. The building and the furnishings inside are kind of old and rundown but the staff were friendly. The bed was clean and comfortable and the room was well heated at night. Be prepared to share a bathroom. I got what I paid for. Not terrible but not great.

Location very good but disappointed overall

Greeting was good, however a cash key deposit was required in addition, which would be helpful to know.
Directed to 2nd floor, the whole floor absolutely stank like cigarette smoke. I asked for another room, no was the answer. He said he would find the source and fix the problem as this was no smoking accommodation.
Following night awoken by foul stench of cigarette smoke coming into my room at 3am. Some moron was smoking in the room next to me, who knew it was a no smoking room. I packed my luggage and contemplated leaving or sleeping in dining room foyer. However another manager was on duty and upgraded me instantly to another room thankfully.
The kitchen cupboards had insects running around inside, people leaving dishes with food half eaten, a discernable lack of utensils/bowls. Very difficult.

Overall, I couldn't wait to get out of there.

There's a smell in the bathroom I can best describe as faint sulfur, fruit flies everywhere even though temperature hovered around 0 degrees. Kitchen was very dirty. Good thing is there's food order delivery that the staff helped me with and there's almost always someone at the front desk. Very close to train station so very convenient.

Accessible and easy locating but not so clean and generally not good. Other hostel I stayed in during my trip last year is better but price range are the same. Might not consider going back and will try other hostel next time.

For shopping near Dongdaemun.

Short distance from Cheongu station of Seoul Metro. Although some reviewers said it's tough to find, one just need to know it's behind Tous Les Jours and everything will be easy. Convenience store & a mini-market nearby, food & grocery shopping is a breeze. I once walked back from Doota, took about 15 mins. For this trip, I stayed at the 14-bedded dormitory, and it occupies the whole basement. Spacious enough but lack individual reading light for each bed. The hostel was filled with a friendly atmosphere overall.

Close to the subway and 15mins walk to myeongdong

Lone traveler stayed from the 9th to the 20th.

Staffs and other customers are all equally friendly. Staffs also conduct trips occasionally for travellers who does not know where to go. Feels more homely to say its just a hostel is underrated.

Thanks to Tommy, Leo and all the other staffs. I will visit the place again definitely.

What a place!

I had a really bad experience from other guest house called MiniResidence. It turned out to be a boon to me who was reluctant to move to other place. This is a great discovery and all the trouble and pain in MiniResidence was considered even greater with my regret that I should have come to this place in the first place. The staffs speak good English and are quite helpful and absolutely friendly. Air conditioning is great and the shared space is reasonable and spacious. I am coming back again and again to this place whenever I have a trip to Seoul. In MiniResidence, I was hot since they turned off the air last month and attacked by millions of mosquitoes every night. The manager guy was rude and violent. I don't understand why I put up with that 3 nights in MiniResidence. I booked my 1 week stay in this nice place. I love this place. By the way, I am a retiree from America travelling 365 days a year. Trust me on this; I know what I am talking about. Don't be hesitant to check this place out yourself. You will be wholeheartedly thankful to me for this helpful review. Bon voyage, my fellow travellers!

Get what you pay for I guess...

Pro: very cheap, close to dongdaemun
Cons: very small with equally small bathroom which is shared with a toilet. Bathroom was very dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for days. Room is very small for two people (I got the double room) and I could barely fit luggages in. Careful of the stairs, theyre tight and oddly spaced.

Not much to say about staff as I left the next day to find a different hotel to stay.

The hostel is located in a convenient location near Cheonggu station and walkable distance to Dongdaemun. There are many food options in the area (not open 24 hours though) and there are convenience stores near the hostel as well. Staff were friendly and helpful allowing us to enjoy our stay more too.

Perfect hotel for you who are mobile

It is so close from the Chronggu subway station. On my stay here, I cn go shopping on Gyeongbukgung then get back to the hotel to drop my shopping bags then go to itaewon to grab a snack less then an hour. The staff are multilingual from english chinese even melayu or indonesian.

There are two parts to this hostel

The hostel staff is great and very helpful. The main person who knows how to speak English, Tommy is great! This hostel is going through an expansion so there's two parts to it.

The old part is damp and can get cold in the winter but had better wifi access. The kitchen can get a little smelly but that's if it's being used for cooking, which is to be expected. What I didn't like is that they charge 10,000KRW for a key deposit for the old part as well.

The new part is coming along beautifully. It's got nice floors but stairs can be a pain for luggage. They also don't collect a deposit for keys since it's number pad coded doors. The rooms also have heated floors, super comfortable for the winter. Just make sure you understand the controls cause it's written in Korean. Wifi here isn't the best and that's the downside as well.

Security is great in dedicated rooms. I'm not quite sure about the shared ones. It's really close to Chenggou station, which makes it super convenient to get along. Also close to a 7Eleven for quick pickup and close to a street full of restaurants. that's where this hostel really excels. It's a bed to sleep on every night basically.

I arrived late and my roommates were already asleep. My bed was directly under the AC, so I was glad for the blanket. I only stayed for a few hours before making my way to the airport. It's less than 40 mins from Gimpo, which is a plus. They email you directions, so it's easy to findm Just make sure to let them know if you're coming after 11 so that there's someone to let you in!

Overall, very convenience and comfortable for a budget hotel. The host was very helpful and friendly. We arrived early in the morning around 5am and the front door was secured with pin number. We make a call to the host, Tommy asking for the security number. Although he was in sleepy state (which is quite funny when we have a conversation), he tries his best to help us.

The location is really strategic. Room quiet small but its okay for us. Have all the basic need for backpackers like us. The area was not hilly at all

There is no elevator and we have to climb a slightly sharp stairs to our room. Not recommended for family who travel with elders. But maybe you can ask for 1st floor room for the elder.

It is hard to find, the directions are conflicting, the room has a tiny locker but no key, they ask for a deposit in cash - the price of the room - to give you your key, you have to ask for a towel... It really is for only when you cannot afford anything else.

Great location!

This was a very good guesthouse when on a budget. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Beds may feel a little hard to western travelers, but the comfort level is pretty typical for Korean hostel beds. Our room also had a TV, which was a nice distraction. The location was great as it was just across the street from a subway station. Not a very busy neighborhood, but convenient enough to find. I'd definitely stay here again.

Friendliest Staff in Seoul

Mein Zimmer war im Keller es hat bisschen komisch gerochen aber war noch okay. In meinem Zimmer waren wir 14 Leute bzw gab es so viel Betten und es gab nur ein Badezimmer sehr wenig für so viel Leute. Küchen Ausstattung als Frühstück war Nix besonderes Instant Nudeln, Eier ,Toast, Tee, Kaffeepulver und erdnüssbutter. Für so 3 Nächte ist eigentlich okay. Ich finde das Hostel kann auch renoviert werden bisschen damit es besser aussieht von innen. Es gab ein laundry Service das ist gut.

一般の方は泊まれない宿だと思います。

非常に不潔で不快な宿です。
汚物がトイレ内に散乱していたり、部屋も清掃されてないです。
個室はもしかしたらもう少し快適かもしれませんが、ホテル(?)内がそもそも臭いので快適に過ごせるとは思えません。
相当な覚悟がある方は泊まってみると良いです。

Prix minimum - service minimum

Je vais commencer par dire que je n'ai pas passé un mauvais séjour mais qu'il y a quand-même pas mal de critiques à faire.
Les points positifs : le prix et la localisation.
Service : pas un bonjour, on sent qu'ils ne sont pas payés assez pour répondre aux questions...
Chauffage au sol en plein mois de mai... j'ai été obligé d'allumer la clim pour compenser tellement il faisait chaud...
Les revêtements de sol du couloir sont complètement usés et faisaient tellement de bruit que je croyais que quelqu'un entrait dans ma chambre à chaque fois qu'on passait devant.
J'ai tenté d'allumer la télé par curiosité. Elle ne marchait pas.

All in all only night for just sleep was okay. There was no receptionist. There was information to call Korean number but I was foreigner, didn’t have number. Later some person (maybe she was helper) helped me where the bedroom was but mostly I didn't know about anything until I had to ask question. Living area was small, mostly full and it looked like some people were long residents or helpers, so only a few space for short visitor in the peak time. Dormitory room was spacious but there was no trash box inside room, I didn't know where to throw trush at first. Shower bathroom was only one available in the big dormitory room, no extra toilet in common area. Mostly toilet room was wet n messy after somebody took shower there. Upper bed was shaky, the bed without bed light was sometimes inconvenient. Breakfast was toast, instant noodle, egg n orange juice. Common fridge was mostly full of long stay residents, only little space for short visitors. A little insufficient hospitality and socialising atmosphere. Better stay other bigger places if you wanna socialise with other travelers

대체로 좋았던 편!

이미지랑 조금 다른 느낌이었고, 뜨거운 물과 차가운 물 조절이 힘들었다는 것 외에는 다 좋았던 것 같아요! 직원분들도 다들 친절하게 안내해주셨고, 저 외에도 숙박을 하시는 다른 분들도 다들 좋은 분들이셨던 것 같아요.

値段相応の期待をして行けば満足できる

14人部屋に2日間滞在しましたが、二段ベットの上部は電源がなく、長期の滞在となると大変かもしれません。また部屋にトイレとシャワーが一体になったものが一つだけあるだけなので不便さは少しあります。値段が値段なのでコストパフォーマンスは良いほうかなと思います。
駅から徒歩1.2分でタオルも無料で貸して貰えましたし、何よりスタッフの男性が非常に親切丁寧でした。
たった2日の滞在にも関わらず名前を覚えてくださり、オススメのスポットなどを紹介してくれました。

Very dirty but cheap

I was Living in the basement floor, which was very damp and humid. The beds were less than comfortable, and there was only one bathroom to share between 12 residents. The kitchen was infested with cockroaches and generally very dirty. However, the staff was nice and the stay very cheap considering the location.

Это очень плохой хостел

Номер очень грязный. Полотенца выдают хоть и с запахом кондиционера, но грязные по виду и с волосами...
В общей зоне (на входе, где можно приготовить еду) грязно, захламлено и полно тараканов... Этот хостел не стоит своих денег вообще.

很方便的點，適合輕鬆旅遊的我們

民宿內有會中文的店員，很親切，
民宿離地鐵站很近，青丘站3號出口，
KB銀行旁的小巷進去就到了，
房間不算大，不過有可以開兩個大行李箱的空間，很夠用了！
房間隔音我覺得還不錯！
美中不足就是浴室會有點點的漏水，
洗完澡外面會溼溼的，
其他的都很棒!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

値段の割りに立地がよかった！

ソウル駅から最寄りの青丘駅までは階段を使わずにエレベーターで移動できるのでスーツケースでも安心です。

4人部屋を友達4人で利用しましたが、共同キッチンのウォーターサーバーと食器を借りてお茶を淹れたり、200円で使える洗濯機を使ったり、そこそこ快適に過ごしました。

3泊しましたが、掃除ははいらないみたいです。ゴミがいっぱいになったので、3日目の朝にゴミを捨てておいてほしい旨フロントに伝えたら、掃除やタオル替えはせずにゴミだけ捨てておいてくれました。
言わないとゴミ捨てもしてくれないかも？？

トイレにシャワーが付いてる程度のシャワーなので、近所のロッテリアの地下のお風呂に毎日行きました。ハングルしか通じませんが、アカスリもサウナもあって快適でした。

コンビニもスーパーマーケットもあって、立地も良くて、ここを選んで正解でした。
ドミトリーやゲストハウスとしては普通だけど、日本のホテルみたいな清潔さを求める日本女子には無理かも。

The Hotel is good to Backpacker.

Hotel is small but still acceptable to me because it it really near to the Subway Station (approx. only 3 minutes). Via the Subway Station I can very easy to go anywhere I want to go. Only 1 disadvantage is that the hotel entrance is hidden inside a small street that is difficult to find for new visitors and taxi driver.

Бюджетный неплохой хостел рядом с метро

Неплохой бюджетный студенческий хостел со всеми вытекающими. Мы или в отдельной комнате со своим санузлом. Комнаты не убираются даже по запросу. Из плюсов два шага до метро, тихий спокойный район. Минусы - стройка напротив (скоро закончится). Для бюджетного хостела - твёрдые 4 балла.

値段相応だと思います。

タオルやアメニティーグッズは持参されたほうがいいです。寝るだけだったので、問題なしでした。場所はちょっとわかりにくいですが、地下鉄からは近いので、その点はお勧めです。大きなスーツケースは階段で持ってあがるのはちょっとつらいです。

トイレが壊れており、私含め全員がトイレに入る度に叫び声が出ました。(笑)
客室にテレビがなかったことが少し寂しかったですね。
スタッフの方は日本語どなたも全く通じません。簡単な英語で会話がギリギリ成立します。
清潔なホテルとは言い難いですが、寝るだけ、シャワーをするだけでオッケーな方なら本当に値段の安い良いホテルだとおもいます！！
(少しでも不潔なのが嫌！でも安く泊まりたいからここにしたい！という方は最低バスタオルは２枚、シャンプーリンス等のアメニティ、使い捨てスリッパなどを持っていけばいいかとおもいます！)

バックパッカー向き

立地が良かったので、ホテルは寝るだけ派におすすめです。バックパッカー慣れしてない人には、、、
スタッフはとても優しく愛嬌があってよかったです。日本語対応できる方がいらっしいます。
