While the location was good. Thats pretty much what you pay for. The rooms are so outdated. There was no tv in the room, where the only air con unit was in the whole apartment. There was 1 locked door and one locked with chains. The bathroom was dirty and mouldy. When they came to fix the tv ( another issue) they advised they would get house keeping in the next morning to spray with bleach... i wasnt trilled with it smelling like bleach and asked if there was any other rooms to which i was told she would get back to me.... but never did. Id definitely spend that kind of money elsewhere next time

The apartment was nice but a bit tired. The tv would not work in the main room so had to get someone to come ,& look at it twice but gave up after that. To be fair the staff were helpful but they struggled to get it working. The gym/spa was out of use but spoke to someone to find a solution

On first arrival we liked what we saw. However once we got to the room we noticed the apartment had a strong smell of bleach. Inspecting the bathroom the shower floor looked like it needed to be fully regrouted and freshened. It was patchy which looked like they had been trying to clean mould from the grout. There also was silicone hanging like they had tried to seal it. We were told there was only one other standard room available which looked okay but the balcony was surrounded by trees with no view. We were offered a refund which we gladly accepted and found alternative accomodation.

We had a great balcony with views of the ocean, the apartment was spacious with everything you need. We walked to Surfers Paradise along the beach in about 20 minutes and back along the seaside path (15 minutes) there are shops and restaurants close by. Having the beach so close was a real bonus. I loved the apartment and secure underground parking was great. This is a very secure apartment building, you can’t go anywhere without your fob.

We booked a one bedroom superior apartment and it was definitely not that. The room was dark, musty, dirty, carpet coming up, dirty kitchen, oil and grease dripping from oven extractor. There was construction happening on the floor we were booked on and so it was loud banging and construction noise. The photos that are on the website are a complete misrepresentation of what you are booking. Was told by hotel reception that they can call it superior because the bathroom had been done up. That was the only good thing about the room. It was so terrible that we didn’t end up staying there and left to book another place that was excellent. We have tried to get a response from the Marrakesh but have heard nothing. Would definitely not recommend staying here

Our apartment was dated, tired and bathroom in need of renovation. Shower hadnt been cleaned - there was old soap in the shower base and the shower door was disgustingly dirty. We arrived exhausted so tried to catch up on sleep but as soon as we lay down a jackhammer started which contined for an hour. Wont return.

Would suggest more info on the Wotif site about what you get when booking a room here

Eg -They don’t house clean if you book under a full week
- As a result wet towels or you can hire towels for $5 each
- If you want tea/ coffee or even toilet paper they give you directions to Woolworth’s ( you get a starter pack on arrival which lasts a day if lucky)
- Was not what I expected from a large Motel like this

Apartment was clean, comfortable and had great facilities (washer, dryer, full kitchen). They provided a basic starter pack for washing (1 use only) so we had to buy laundry, dishwasher and washing machine detergent which all got left there (wasteful). Would definitely return.

The room was beautifully clean and well maintained. Perfect air con - in both the living room and bedroom. Kept it at 20 degrees if I needed, which really helped for first few days because I flew in from a cold climate. Staff were friendly and easy to chat to. Pools are beautiful, and the lobby was decorated for Christmas with a huge tree.

Overall was happy with Marrakesh apartments. Clean room, great ammenities and great location. The slight negative was there was a sign on dinning table in our room that you could smoke on the balcony and to even make sure I rang reception to confirm and was told I could smoke on balcony but yet the next door neighbour put a complaint in and aggressively confronted me in front of my 6yr old. Reception attended our room to inform us we weren’t allowed to smoke on balcony as new legislation came in affect on the 1/7/25.. surely it doesn’t take 6 months to remove signs and inform there workers of this policy.

The balcony view was wonderful in all three rooms. In two rooms, not of the ocean or pool area, but directly over all the palm trees with the birds going back and forth. The third room had a view of the pool area and mezzanine, which was lovely. The rooms were clean when we arrived, and small items were provided to start you off. You needed to go get more soaps and such (i.e., toilet paper) if you needed more. We found that overall, the atmosphere was peaceful and calming, clean, and well-kept. It's only two blocks from the ocean, which was convenient as well. Both pools were nice. The inside pool had a louvered roof that closed when it rained, lovely lighting, and a good overall atmosphere. People can only get to the floors if they have the key fob for that floor, which was good for security. In one room, the air conditioning was in the bedroom, and in the other two, it was in the living room, so it was hard to manage the whole apartment's cooling at night. Leave the bedroom door open and the ceiling fan on if you want to be cooler at night, or sleep on the couch beds. Electronic door locks would be a nice perk, as my husband's key didn't always work, and he had to spend time jiggling it for the door to finally open.

Overall, a lovely stay for our 4 adult family, and we would definitely be rebooking if we come back.

PS: The restaurant downstairs, Rudy's Organic, is allergy aware and works well with celiac and dairy-free issues.

Great cafe onsite that stays open til 2pm with lovely garden surrounding. Excellent outdoor pool area and indoor pool and spa. The spa is not as hot as some which I enjoyed because I could stay in it longer. The dry sauna is small but nice but remember to turn it to warm it up before you get in it. The room had great city views and could even see a bit of the ocean. It needs a good deep clean of carpet and drapes though as the room smelled like a room that his been closed up too long. Not awful but noticeable. Full kitchen. We stayed in a 1bedroom with double foldout couch for extra people. Tell the front desk if you need to use it, as they will need to set it up with linens first. A bit dated, but no big deal. I stay in the area alot. A decent stay and was worth what we paid.

Would reccomend putting dead locks or key locks on balcony doors as for toddlers the locks on their now are super easy to OPEN!! Could do it with windows too for safety.
The lamps in rooms had quite a lot of dust built up also.

You can’t beat the values for this place. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on 8th floor, and we felt like home away home. Full size kitchen, washer and dryer are included. The balcony is huge, panoramic view of the city and just tad of ocean view was breathtaking. There is even own balcony in one of the bedroom. Light rail station is very closed by. We had a car, so even though markets and shops are a bit far for walking distance, it was not an issue for us. The garage parking definitely a plus. The whole building is secured. The swimming pool and the lobby area are clean, Mediterranean styles. Downstairs cafe is a bonus, amazing coffee. Despite being an older building, We loved everything about this hotel.

A few side notes if you stay here for a week: buy some essential such as toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, sponge, laundry detergents at supermarket. No housekeeping so empty your own trash, wash your own towels, etc.

We wish there are extra trash bags, better cooking pan, sharp knife, basic condiments, cooking oils, for cooking. The ventilation fan wasn’t working when cooking meals, need to open windows for that matter.
